Pinball 1 Posted October 28, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 28, 2017 (edited) <<THE ARCADE>> ~Rank Seven: High Mentor Cook~ The Arcade is a player-ran shop, owned by one under the username of Pinball. The shop's style is that of a plain, stone and wood cottage, though, despite appearences, it sports quite the large kitchen. The shop is built in a large, circular clearing, which sharply contrasts with the dense forest of Floor 8. In the center of the clearing is a large, presumably old tree that complements the shop nicely. Outside, behind the building, are wooden benches, put out for any Players who feel like taking a break. Plus, the benches have a pretty good view of the big tree in the center of the clearing. Upon entering The Arcade, the Player will be nervously greeted by Pinball himself, a rather shy young man who gives off the impression that he doesn't quite know what he's doing. On the front door of the shop, there are signs. They Read: "Welcome to The Arcade!" and, directly under it: "Guild members recieve 25% off on Custom Orders!" also, hastily scribbled on a third, smaller sign: "NOTE: This isn't actually an arcade. I make food." Stryder 0 Posted October 29, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 29, 2017 Sky walked into his guildmate shop, which had literally been opened about ten minutes ago.He had to get some tea, he wanted it really bad, he wanted to find a familiar, and as far as he knew, a cook would be able to help him do that. He sighed, opening the door and walking in, seeing Pin somewhere in the shop. He shrugeed, going to the desk and putting his order in. he wanted some tea, it was quite simple. After putting the order down he walked over and sat down outside, yawning as he waited to see if his craft would be done soon or later. Pinball 1 Posted October 29, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted October 29, 2017 (edited) Pinball had been putting the finishing touches to his shop, putting a little notecard with his name on it on the counter, putting out flowers and such. Stryder walked in, not saying a word, shrugged, and filled out an order form. "Oh- I," he stuttered, recieving the Order Form. He had literally just opened, why the h*ll was he getting customers so soon? Regardless, he was Pinball's superior, so there was really no denying him anything. Without a backwards glance, Stryder left the shop, and Pinball could see the man outside, waiting. Probably if he's getting his order now or later. But, I'm just starting, so chances are pretty slim... Nonetheless, Pinball tried his hand, hoping he could somehow manage... But alas, luck was not on his side. He sighed. Two materials lost. Two failures, and he had just started. "Damn," he muttered, walking out to Stryder. "Hey, man," Pinball said, the smell of smoke wafting out of the shop's door, "It's gonna be a bit for those orders. Sorry 'bout that." Craft Attempts - #1 Spoiler ID# 90091 CD: 4 (Fail!) Lose Materials. -1 T1 Mat, +1 EXP #2 Spoiler ID# 90092 CD: 1 (Critical Fail!) Pinball 1 Posted October 30, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted October 30, 2017 (edited) Another day, another dollar. Pinball started his morning by swinging open the door to his shop and getting straight to cooking. Cooking was a pleasant enough hobby, even though he seemed to be failing quite a bit. Pinball smiled, and started cooking. His first attempt was very close to success, but he must have been a bit off with the timing, because the item failed to craft. However, he managed to salvage the material he had put in it, so it wasn't too bad of a loss. His second attempt was a salvage item as well, but this time, he wasn't able to recover the material. With a sigh, Pinball put an end to his crafting. Guess Stryder is gonna have to wait for that tea. Pinball 1 Posted October 31, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted October 31, 2017 (edited) Pinball entered his shop, a bit more moodily than the last time. He had failed yesterday, but he wouldn't let that stop him. No, Stryder had placed an order, one of the Guild Leaders themselves. Desperate to prove himself, he went right into the cooking. Sadly, the results ended up much like yesterday's. He wrecked the first, but was able to salvage the materials, but the second crafting attempt utterly failed. With a grunt, he put his cooking utensils aside, and went over to stand by the front desk. Today was a wreck as well. However, he knew he was only a beginner, and that it was going to be this way for a while. The knowledge that his craft will come more easily to him as he works for it brought him comfort. It was something to look forward to. Craft Attempts- 1 and 2 #1 Spoiler ID# 90235 CD: 9 (Salvage) LD: 12 (Success!) Pinball 1 Posted November 1, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted November 1, 2017 (edited) Pinball entered his shop the next evening. He had a good feeling about today. He got straight into cooking, and was pleasantly surprised with the day's yield. His first craft failed, and when he tried to recover the material he had put into it, he failed, the material shattering into a million pieces. His second attempt, however, ended up being his very first success! The smell of Garlic Bread filled the shop, announcing Pinball's very first item crafted. It was only a Rare item, so it wouldn't be fitting Stryder's order, but it was a success, and that meant Pinball was getting better. Or that he got lucky. Either way, a perfect item simpy had to be around the corner, given his success so far. He couldn't wait to return to his shop and craft again. Pinball 1 Posted November 3, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted November 3, 2017 (edited) Another day of crafting, and Pinball was looking forward to getting an order crafted. Right off the bat, his first attempt ended In absolute failure. The item shattered into pieces, without any chance of recovery for his materials. The second item ended up the same as the first, a failure. Both attempts of crafting had failed, both leaving no chance for any material recovery. He shrugged, shaking off the feeling of failure. He would get better eventually, he would just need more practice. With a sigh, Pinball finished his day of crafting. It wasn't as successful as he hoped, but there was always tomorrow.Hopefully I have better luck next time, he thought, closing up the shop, and heading out the store. Pinball 1 Posted November 4, 2017 Author #8 Share Posted November 4, 2017 (edited) Pinball wanted to craft Stryder's item. He wanted to do it bad. It wasn't the act of crafting itself that cut off his interest, it was more the monotonous grind that it took to actually craft something. He was running low on materials now, and if he didn't craft Stryder's items very soon, he would be forced to go and gather more materials. And his past gathering attempts were all so very boring. By all rights, he should be grateful that gathering materials was all he was worrying about, but the narcissism so heavily embedded in people his age prevented that. Both of his crafting attempts ended in failures. Slamming down his cooking utensil, he left the shop, never saying a word. Pinball 1 Posted November 5, 2017 Author #9 Share Posted November 5, 2017 (edited) Pinball entered his shop the next morning, eager to get back into crafting. He had missed a day, and he knew that that put him behind in terms of crafting. However, he vowed that he would try his best to make up for lost time, and try to become the most relevant Cook in the game. But his crafts would beg to differ. One after the other, both items failed, shattering into pieces in front of his eyes. "Ain't that something," he muttered, slapping the counter in frustration. "Guess it can't be helped." And so Pinball left the shop, in a more fowl mood then he had been in when he entered. But, the boy was excited to get back to his crafting, and one bad day wouldn't ruin the experience for him. Pinball 1 Posted November 7, 2017 Author #10 Share Posted November 7, 2017 (edited) Pinball entered his shop the next day. Wasting no words, and no time, Pinball got straight down into the crafting. His first item ended up being a rare! "Nice," he said, before getting right back into his next attempts. Pinball's next two items were both Uncommon. "Wow," he said, taking a step back. None of them were quite up to standards, but so many good items in one day of crafting was impressive. Especially for him, a Rank Two Cook. "Well," Pinball said, walking out of his shop. "That was pretty cool." Pinball closed the door behind him. He decided he would take a break from crafting, and instead, focus on himself for a while. Pinball 1 Posted November 11, 2017 Author #11 Share Posted November 11, 2017 (edited) Pinball entered the shop, filled with determination to get some good crafting in. Sparing no words, he got right into doing the job itself. There was no need for words when he was by himself, and when he did talk aloud to himself, it was usually only an exclamation or a curse. As he got the materials ready, he hoped he would get lucky with his crafting. However, he had crafted one Uncommon snack. It wasn't bad, but nobody would use it, what with everyone wanting Perfects. But, sadly, overall, he wasn't nearly successful as the day before. Putting his materials away, he left the shop, satisfied with the work he had put in. The door of the shop closed with a soft thud. Shrugging, Pinball recieved the materials, and got ready for crafting. His first attempt was a failure, and he discarded the blackened item with a scowl. His second, however, was a rare! "Still not good enough," he muttered irritably. His third and finally attempt, too, was a failure. "Damn it!" He exclaimed, putting everything away. Pinball 1 Posted November 27, 2017 Author #14 Share Posted November 27, 2017 (edited) Pinball sighed as he got back to his shop. Now, he had 3 perfects to make on his plate. He had one order for Stryder he still had to make, and two from Kaya. However, since he ran out of materials while making Stryder's items, he would focus on making Kaya's items with the materials she had payed him with. It was only fair. In the chance that he managed to craft Kaya's items with the mats he had, he could then focus on Stryder's items once again. Pinball got straight to crafting, but only managed to craft 1 Rare item today. Fae 0 Posted November 27, 2017 #15 Share Posted November 27, 2017 Fae had heard that Pin now had his own shop, so Fae decided to pay him a visit. Even better, he was a cook, a low ranked one at that. To Fae she knew what kind of wares Pin had the ability to cook, snacks. Fae had been getting sick of buying snacks from NPCs, and she wanted to finally have something player-made. Fae skipped through the woods and eventually reached The Arcade, and she opened the door to walk inside. "Hey Pinny! Fae is here! Fae has an order for ya!" Fae called out, waving to Pin at the counter. She filled out the order for Pin and gave it to him. "Just a nice little cookie, Fae will pay you now." Fae said as she opened her menu and sent the 750 col to Pin, since she had the discount. Fae skipped back out of the shop and waved to Pin, a wide grin on her face. Hei 0 Posted November 27, 2017 #16 Share Posted November 27, 2017 Hei had been thinking about taming his own familiar since he had met Eatos' husky the first time. As he had heard, that having the right food on one, he was going to pay his friend Pinball a visit. His guild mate had opened a cooking shop on the eighth floor, so he teleported there and began his march through the big forest. After quite a walk, he reached the Arcade just the moment Fae left it waving at Pin who was still inside. He hadn't seen the small girl quite some time, so he sneaked up on her, and with a loud "Guess who's there!" he put his hands over her eyes. After that, he entered the shop and greeted Pin. "Hey there, I heard you can cook up some meat snacks for me to increase my chance of finding a companion." Then he took one of the order forms and filled them in. "Could you craft this for me twice? Pinball 1 Posted November 28, 2017 Author #17 Share Posted November 28, 2017 (edited) Pinball entered the shop, and quickly set up his materials for crafting. So many orders, so few perfects. It didn't help that Fae had paid in mats, though he wouldn't blame her. It was hard to come by materials, and, plus, she was a child. Hei's order would be the easiest to craft, since he had a few Rare's laying around he hadn't sold yet. Pinball got into the crafting, and only managed to craft a single Rare dessert. "Damn it," he complained, slamming his fist on the counter. He didn't have many materials left, and he hoped beyond hoping that he would manage to finish Kaya's items. It was going to be rough, especially since he still had Fae, Stryder, and even Hei waiting on him. Plus, Pinball's luck was terrible. Pinball 1 Posted November 29, 2017 Author #18 Share Posted November 29, 2017 (edited) Pinball entered his shop, filled with a mixture of feelings. He had been unlucky with his crafting so far, but he was determined to get his orders done. Perfects were very hard to come by, it would seem, but Pinball didn't want to let anyone down. The boy got straight into crafting. After a long, painful process, Pinball had only yielded a single Rare item, and an Uncommon item, while every other attempt ended in failure. Pinball let out a long, deep sigh. At least Hei would be getting his items. But Stryder, Kaya, and Fae would have to wait once again. There was going to be a serious need for gathering in the future, Pinball could tell. He let out another melodramatic sigh, and left the shop. Pinball 1 Posted December 1, 2017 Author #19 Share Posted December 1, 2017 (edited) Pinball sadly opened the door to his shop the next day, and trudged over to the kitchen. He was so unlucky with his crafting so far, he didn't even look forward to getting into it anymore. Maybe being a crafter just wasn't meant to be. Shrugging, Pinball told himself that he would fulfill every single order before he even considered quitting. He had come too far to give up on the people who had ordered items for him now. After crafting, he admired his work. Which wasn't saying much, because there really wasn't anything to admire. A single Uncommon Dessert. Letting out a frustrated grunt, Pinball left the shop, slamming the door behind him. Hopefully he would have better luck later on, but for now, he wasn't doing good at all. Pinball 1 Posted December 4, 2017 Author #20 Share Posted December 4, 2017 (edited) Pinball entered his shop, sighing. Another day of crappy luck, it would seem. Pinball got into the crafting. He had ranked up, it would seem, and in his moodiness, he hadn't noticed it the day before. He only had 4 T1 Materials with him, but he managed to salvage the 4th, and use that very same material for his 5th daily attempt that came with being a Rank 4 Cook. He crafted an Uncommon item with it. Still, it meant he was progressing as a cook. Before closing up, he shot a quick message to Hei. He sat on the counter and waited for the man's reply, in case he decided to come and pick up the one item he had ready for him waiting. @Hei: Spoiler 1/2 Orders crafted, here's one: Name: Hot Dragon SnackYour Profession: CookYour Rank: 3Roll ID: 90499Roll Result: 11Item Type: SnackTier: T1Quality: RareEnhancements: LD +2Description: A small pack of hot and spicy meat balls formed like little dragons.Post Link: http://www.sao-rpg.com/topic/15508-f8-r3-cook-~-open/?do=findComment&comment=529771 Crafting~ Attempt 1 Spoiler ID# 91683 CD: 1 (Fail!) 1 T1 Material Lost. +1 EXP Attempt 2 Spoiler ID# 91684 CD: 1 (Fail!) 1 T1 Material Lost. +1 EXP Attempt 3 Spoiler ID# 91685 CD: 10 (Success!) 1 T1 Rare Dessert Crafted. 1 T1 Material Lost. +5 EXP Attempt 4 Spoiler ID# 91686 CD: 5 (Salvage) LD: 15 (Salvage Success!) 1 T1 Material Recovered. +2 EXP Attempt 5 Spoiler ID# 91687 CD: 9 (Success!) 1 T1 Uncommon Dessert Crafted. 1 T1 Material Lost. +3 EXP Started day with 4 T1 Mats, ended with 0.
