[PP-F1] «Earning a Living» Food for Thought: Round 2`

"I really should finally unlock a profession already..." Kaya thought as she kicked a pebble across the pavement. Last time didn't work out so well, but this time had to be it. As the rougette groveled while walking forward, she runs right into a sign board. She quickly falls back to her bum while her hands catches the rest of her body from smacking the pavement. Slowly looking up, she sees the quest board. On it, «Earning a Living». "This has to be a sign." She thought as she picked herself up from the ground. After a quick dusting of herself, she looks back up to the quest board and quickly accepts the quest to be a cook.

After a few minutes of wandering, Kaya makes her way to a restaurant in the central market of town. It was huge and the food smelled amazing. "This should be the place," she thought as she pushed her way through the front door. Before she could even say anything, she's stopped by a short middle aged man with a tall white chef's hat on his head. "Ah, you must be here to learn how to cook, but first..." "Oh god please don't say let me take a selfie." Kaya thought nervously. "Go gather some materials for me, 5 should do just fine." "O-okay..."  "I should ask Kimi if she wants to join in." She thought as she began to open her messenger.

After sending her message, the rougette began making her way to the northern gate of town.

After buying her first weapon Kimi spent the rest of her time looking for some tantalizing sweets. More specifically she was looking for cake since she hasn't been able to feed her sweet tooth lately. It didn't take too long for her to find a bakery with a really nice display of cakes. Right as she was eyeing some delicious deep crimson red velvet cake, she received a message from Kaya "Hey Kimi! Up for doing the «Earning a Living» with me? I'll be waiting at the northern gate of the Town of Beginnings." This was perfect for Kimi since she was looking for something to do. She was trying to remember if there was anything else to do, but nothing came to mind. "Well i'm free right now, i best get going" Kimi said forcefully leaving the tantalizing cake behind her.

The smell of food in the market slowly fading as she made her way to the northern gate of the Town of Beginnings. As she strolled along the paved bricked road she finally arrived at the northern gate. This took some time because Kimi was still unfamiliar with the Town of Beginnings. She was wondering if she might've arrived to early or too late because she couldn't find her friend Kaya anywhere. When out in the distance she saw a red head girl making her way to the gate. "Ohh that's her." Kimi said with a grin on her face as she waved to get her attention.

As kaya arrives at the gate, she hears a familiar voice just off in the distance. It was Kimi. "Oh wow, that was quick," she thought. As she began messing around with her inventory. She was getting ready for the adventure. Once Kimi was close enough, she waves at the noirette. "Hey Kimi! We just need 5 T1 materials, alright?" She looked Kimi with determination. Her scythe in her hands, she began marching out the gates. "Alright, unlike before we can get materials from mobs now. Before we could only get materials from non-combat ways." That said, Kaya looked around for her first target.

5 minutes turned to 10 minutes which then turned to 30 going by. Still, there were no mobs around to kill. "Damn... there's no mobs anywhere to farm. Say... Kimi, got a place to recommend? I figured killing mobs would make this quest go quicker, ya know?"

As they were outside the Town of Beginnings looking for some beasts to kill for their materials. Kaya said "Damn... there's no mobs anywhere to farm. Say... Kimi, got a place to recommend? I figured killing mobs would make this quest go quicker, ya know?" 

"Yeah! I think there are some inside the forest not to far from here." Kimi gleefully said. Knowing that Kaya needs her to help with something really made her happy. She felt as if Kaya does most of the work especially since she's a higher level. Not to mention that Kimi calls to Kaya from time to time for help. The two wondered off to the forest, the same they went to when they met. This time around it was different because instead of gathering materials. They were hunting for them, with this in mind Kimi felt a bit uncomfortable since she doesn't have a weapon to protect herself with, but she does have some decent armor. If worse comes to worse they can flee, but Kimi felt as if she can provide some support. This time it will be to return a favor of having Kaya help her with her previous quests.

The two noobies slowly trudged through the entrance of the dark damp forest. Their piercing innocent eyes on a constant swivel for any on coming danger. They held each other's hands so, Unfortunately for the two, it wasn't long until they were quickly welcomed with an angry boar. Before they could react any further, the boar began charging at Kaya. Too bad for the boar, Kaya's well equipped. She dodges the boar's tusks gracefully and retaliates with her first sword art. "Whirlwind," She whispered under her breath as tightly grasped her scythe until it began to glow crimson red. "Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!" She yelled as she swung the massive scythe around. Once cutting the boar across it's body, then twice cutting the boar's body once more before tossing the the beast away from the duo. "Right, leave this to me," she said to Kimi, as she glared down the wild boar.

As Kimi stood aside spectating Kaya’s battle she couldn’t help wanting to jump in to lend a hand. Sadly though Kimi knew that she might only be getting in their way. As she continued watching the battle, Kimi noticed a crimson light faintly revolving around Kayas’ hand and then soon after cloaking the scythe she was using. “So this is what sword art looks like.” Kimi said as Kaya released a flurry of heavy attacks. This was the first time Kimi has seen a battle in SAO which left her stunned and in awe. Though Kimi thought Kaya had finished off the boar with that array of heavy attacks. The boar still stood firm, but it was quite obviously hurt. At this point Kimi was itching to jump in at anytime to lend assist. Kimi had forgotten to equip her weapon when she left the safe zone, but her armor was still of some considerable battle value. Despite this Kimi decided to strike the boar while it was still focused on Kaya. Relying more on her armor, Kimi charged at the boar head on. This is Kimi's first true battle and she was inexperienced with combat. She only wished for a solid hit regardless with the result. While charging on Kimi did a small jump a few meters away from the boar and performed a drop kick. It was a solid hit, but it wasn't much and didn't faze the beast ahead of them

OOC: Sorry I thought I wrote in this already.

Kaya stared down the horned beast as she gripped her scythe tighter. Circling one another, this was a dance with death. One of them had to die in order for the other to live, as with the laws of nature. As the two had their stare down, a random foot flew past Kaya. With it, Kimi. As she flew past Kaya in slow motion, Kaya's eyes grew wider and with it, her mouth growing agape. She didn't really expect her duo partner to really jump into the mix - literally and figuratively. In one fell motion, Kimi smacked the creature backwards a bit. Following up her attack, Kaya took the opportunity to attack before the beast could react. With a quick, slice of her scythe, the boar blew up into a multitude of pixels. "Heh that was easy." She says with a grin on her face and a victory sign to boot.

As the beast fell Kimi was full of joy. This was her first battle and they came out victorious. Not to mention she also lacked the gear. With the beast defeated she felt a bit of anxiety go away. Having proved that she is capable in battle without a weapon made the victory all the more better. Kimi brought out her handwraps and equip it. As she recalled the store owner said that these would help her in battle, but Kimi never found the time to equip it as she was distracted catching up with her friend. "Now is a better time than any" she said while fitting on her wraps. "So with that down lets take a look around. Pretty sure there are more of those boars around here."  As Kimi looked around she couldn't spot any boars. She wasn't too familiar with her surroundings, but one thing was for sure. She probably wouldn't be able to find boars now. Most likely due to the fact that they just killed one. As the two of them traversed the forest longer nothing came up for her. They were now in a more dense section of the woods, where sunlight didn't touch the floor all that often. "Maybe its best if we stick to the rim of the forest." Kimi suggested nervously. She has never been to fond of forests let alone the dark. Kimi got ahead of herself with the defeat of the boar earlier that she forgot there might be bigger creatures deeper in the forest. "Could you lead the way? Please." Kimi said quietly to Kaya while tugging at her sleeve.

The two crept further into the dark damp forest. At the head was Kimi, but after some few minutes, she quickly second guesses her decision to lead. "Oh it's not so bad." Kaya said with a slight smile on her face. Slight, since she was also somewhat scared off what could pop out of nowhere. Even fear ridden, however, Kaya pushed on forward, leading the two to a clearing into the forest. As soon as they step out of the forest, she hears echoes of a low growl. Almost predator like, but something about it was off. Almost as if it was trying too hard.

A few more moments go by and silence took hold of the area, until a shadow dashes from the shadows directly at Kaya. Unfortunate for the creature, however, Kaya was ready. She quickly dodged the beast, and tried to retaliate, only to fall back to he back as she trips over a rock. As Kaya looks to the beast, she quickly notices that was another boar.

After noticing it was just a boar again. Kimi was already pumped up and ready to beat the beast up. Not really checking her surrounding Kimi rushed the beast without giving it a chance to react. As Kimi was running towards the boar, she wanted to execute a move she saw in a anime she once saw. Kimi did a forward leap to keep her momentum and with her arm cocked back she pummeled the boar into the ground. The boar hit the ground at such force it bounced back up after slamming into the ground. Traces of blood could be seen dripping from the wound on the boars head as well as a crack i the ground beneath it. "Ahh!! That felt good!" Kimi said as she looked at her knuckles. Nothing could describe the feeling of adrenaline Kimi was feeling after performing that move perfectly. She couldn't wait to go at the boar again, but she didn't want to get ahead of herself. She looked back at Kaya to see if she was alright, because from her view it seemed as if she got hit by the boar, and this only triggered Kimi.

OOC - I litterally had to rethink and write all this again cause my last one got deleted -_____-

The boar wasn't having any of Kimi's shenanigans with those fist of hers. It grew furious and focused only on Kimi. It's piercing eyes glazed the noirette as it began to scuff it's hooves on the ground, getting ready for another attack. Seconds later, the boar began charging at Kimi. Unfortunately for the creature, she was too nibble and simply dodged the beast's attack. Instead, the beast attacked a nearby tree, it's tusk dug deep into the tree's bark, only for it to rip off a portion of the trunk.

Not giving the creature any room to breathe, Kaya, tightly gripped her scythe once more as she began to charge the beast. She swings her enormous weapon, ripping through the beast's body once, and with her second swing, she digs deep into the boar, tossing it to a nearby tree. It took heavy damage, but it wasn't enough to completely kill it. Kaya's next attack should be able to end it.

Kimi saw how efficiently the two worked together. With Kaya tossing the boar around like a ragdoll. Kimi felt a rush of energy to continue this onslaught. Once again Kimi ran towards the beast, but the beast wasn't having any of what Kimi had in plan and already timed his attack. When Kimi came into the boars range. The boar thrust his tusk forward and up as to bring Kimi into the air. That would've hurt if Kimi was hit, but instead while running towards the boar, she slid and landed a solid uppercut at the beasts ribs. The boar was becoming enraged at whats going on and started to disregard its own life and charged towards Kimi. She barely was able to evade the boar rush and now the best was between the two. "Finish it off!" Kimi quickly yelled at Kaya as to not lose the momentum of the battle. Kimi was sure that the next hit would end this little skirmish.

Kaya watched as Kimi danced around the beast, dodge and weaving through all the beast's attack. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to dodge everything. Before Kaya could do anything, the one of the boar's rampages manages to hit Kimi, throwing her high in the air and then falling to the ground. Luckily for the noirette, she has her armor that mitigated most of the damage only leaving just the bare minimum. Somewhat anger, Kaya tightly grips her scythe as she rushes the boar for one last time. Then with one swing of her weapon, she cuts the boar in half, instantly breaking it into multiple crystals. "Hey! You okay!"  She looked back to Kimi who was standing up from the ground. The boar couldn't have done much damage to her, but she wanted to make sure. It may not have damaged her physically, but emotionally is a different story.

"Yeah, I'm fine" Kimi said as she dusted herself off. Thankfully Kaya finished off the boar before it could attack Kimi any further. "That was rude!" She exclaimed at the spot where the boar once stood. Kimi scanned the area for anymore boars that might just appear out of the blue, but none was in sight. It was awfully quite in the woods. Kimi didn't feel like stick any closer to the denser part of the forest so she continued on her way to the lighter side of it. As back tracked her way to the edge of the forest something seemed off. She stopped and took a close look at the floor. There seemed to be hoof marks along side the tracks they left behind from when they entered. Kimi stopped and tried to hear for any movement aside from themselves, but still all was quite except for the forests ambience, critters, birds. The evidence was clear that something either followed them, but it could've also just been the boar they ran into earlier. Kimi looked up at Kaya and asked "Wanna check this out? It might just be the boar from earlier, but you never know~."

Before Kimi could even finish saying her sentence, a wild boar rushed the duo. The angry beast aims straight for Kaya. Without giving her much room to react, it's tusks began charging at Kaya. Unfortunately for the beast, Kaya gracefully dodged. As soon as the beast's back was towards Kaya, Kaya tightly gripped her scythe tight before ripping through boar's backside, tossing it off to a nearby tree. The beast roared in pain as it as is stood back on it's four legs. It's glimmered as it glazed over Kaya. "It's really angry now, Kimi a little help?" Kaya was somewhat concern how this'll turn out. She's running low on energy so she couldn't do any big moves. She knew she could win, but help would be nice. Kaya took a few steps back as her eyes kept on the wild creature. If it were to attack, she was going to be ready for anything.

As soon as Kaya gave a notion for some assistance. Kimi rushed in to help while the beast was cornered to a tree. The boar looked as if it was ready for anything Kimi had to throw at him, but she didn't put much thought into it. As soon as she was within 5 meters of the boar Kimi lunged forward. She was aiming for a punch that would knock the beast back into the tree so they can have the advantage of it being cornered still. Everything played out as she wanted to and the boar slammed right back into the tree. Except this time the boar retaliated and charged back while Kimi was still recovering from the heavy hit she delivered. The boar unleashed its rage on her and sent Kimi flying back. "Ahhhhhh!" she let out a grunt of pain as her back hit a tree opposite to the boar. Kimi knelt on the ground still eyeing her opponent. "That was a good one, but not good enough." She muttered as she patted her armor. Even though her armor absorbed a majority of the blow she still felt the force at which it was delivered.

Kaya watched as Kimi made her move. A simple blow to the body, but effective enough to cause damage. Kimi's blow threw the beast towards a tree, continuing the onslaught that the duo had started. This was starting to look more like a slaughter house based on how they've been hitting the boar. Tossing and turning the creature around like it's just a slab of meat. 

Following Kimi's attack and the beast's attempt at retalitation, Kimi rushed the creature once more for another swing of scythe. With a quick cut through the body once more Kaya tossed the creature at a nearby tree. Kaya stared down the creature. It was still up and moving, but was going to falter soon. "Hey Kimi, let's rest up after this, my energy is running low and I think you need to heal up a little too. Especially after all those attacks and you're only lvl 1."

Kimi is beginning to grow tired of this. Shes been too busy looking for boars with Kaya that she forgot to take a break, and now she was really feeling it. Kimi recovered and picked herself up. "Alright lets do this!" She said eyeing the beast. The boar was beaten, bruised, and it looked like it would collapse at any moment. Kimi ran up to the boar once again and landed a fairly solid punch. It still wasn't enough to make defeat the boar, but it was still something. The boar still had the strength to stand and looked as if it could still go on fighting. Despite all that the little amount of health points that shown couldn't lie and the duo knew one more hit should do it.

 Kimi retreaded back to a fairly safe distance. She knew that this isn't the last boar on their hunting list. So it would be best if they rest up after. The sun was still high and they also knew there were plenty of boar out there to hunt.

Kaya watched as Kimi gave the wild beast a good ole punch in the face. It wasn't enough to completely finish the beast, but it was enough for one final punch or in this case, slash from Kaya's enormous scythe. Beaten and bruise, the boar barely stood up on it's four limbs, but it still did it anyways. It's eyes glaring at Kimi, Kaya waited for the opportunity to strike. She only had one shot at this and she didn't wanna to miss the opportunity to blow. This only came once in a life time, and that was now. As soon as the beast, began charging at Kimi, Kaya rushed the beast from the side. She tightly gripped her scythe and in one sweep, she cut clean through the boar's neck, completely decapitating the creature before it burst into a multitude of pixels. "Hehehe That was easy." She looked to Kimi who seemed to be somewhat worn already with a victory sign. "Let's rest up a bit. Or we could head back back now and end it here. I just need to craft some quick food and we should be done. We have enough boar meat anyways."

"Lets just rest up." Kimi said as she sat in the grass. "We can actually go if you want already." Kimi was just enjoying the fine weather as she laid in the grass, but she felt like she could spend this time being more productive while also taking a break. That said she spent some time scanning the area for some material she could bring back for her own use. As she was gazing upon the plains nothing of interest could be found, and she was just about ready to get going. Hopefully she could get back so she can buy some sweets because its been a while since she had something to eat. More specifically she hasn't had the time to satisfy her sweet tooth. "Lets head back whenever you feel like it." Kimi said looking back at Kaya. Kimi was just enjoying her time out in the plains, now that the two are finished with what needed to be done for her quest.
