[F1-SP] «Earning a Living» Good vibes

Kimi was strolling the market trying to find something to sooth her sweet tooth. She stumble around the food district where the air was full of tantalizing aromas. Until she came upon exactly what she was looking for. She found a delicious looking red velvet cake with a thin sugar glaze behind a display case of a fancy bakery. Sadly however her budget didn't agree with her and she stared into the glass display wondering what she could do to get some col to afford it. The only thing that came to mind were either selling some of her equipment which was a definite NO or do what most people do, get a job. With only that one option she got up and set off looking for anyone that was hiring. 

It wasn't a little while longer until she stumbled upon a small cafe in a back alley with a sigh saying "Help Wanted!" with smaller print under it saying "«Earning a Living» become a performer today!" "Ohh a job out here, and its in the form of a quest. Perfect!" Kimi said as she opened made her way inside the cafe. The cafe was dead empty, but light tones of music filled the air and the atmosphere had a nightly pleasantry. Out from the corner of the room a voice rang out "Are you here looking for a job? or are you just passing bye?" A gritty middle aged NPC said in a depressed tone. "I-I'm here to find work." Kimi replied hesitantly giving a nod. "Okay then. Well if you have an instrument on you we could get started, but I doubt it. In this case how about you go gather me some materials and ill exchange you one?" He said in a stern voice.

"Hmm 1 Teir 1 materials should be fine, but i'll let you choose what instrument you get if you bring in 2 materials." The gritty NPC said. Kimi  honestly didn't know what to take since she's never played an instrument before, but its better late than never. With that in mind she then set off while familiarizing herself to the area so she won't lose her way back. While making her way to the Northern most gate. Kimi stopped once again at the bakery where she saw the tantalizing red velvet cake and said "It won't be long beautiful." She said as her mouth began to water. Walking along the uneven pavement she slowly made her way to the end of the safe zone. Knowing she will be alone on the quest Kimi couldn't help but feel a little nervous. Right before she entered the plains Kimi made sure her equipment was in order and checked to see if anything was missing. Seeing everything was in its place she set out "Alright lets do this." She said to herself trying to lift up her mood.

Kimi was enjoying the weather and scenery, it wasn't often she would go out alone to enjoy this. Since most of the time Kimi spent her time in the safe zone trying to meet new people and familiarize herself with everything she normally wouldn't leave the town. Kimi has been outside before and knew of a forest that had a few beasts she could slay for material, as well as searching for some materials on the side. As she was walking to her destination. Out in the distance the forest started to present itself. it was quite a ways out to reach it, but eventually she will make it. Kimi tried to calculate the time it might take to finish this quest, but she knew it would at least be done before the sun goes down. Hopefully by then the bakery would still be open for her to get her cake. As she finally reached the thick green forest she already knew that there are plenty of beasts inside judging by the noise the forest made.

Kimi examined the forest a little bit more before exploring inside, nothing seems to have changed since the last time she visited. That being said there were probably some things that might've changed, either way Kimi made her way into the forest. As soon as she stepped into the forest the atmosphere almost felt as if it had changed, but nothing was out of the ordinary. She took a path she had taken before to complete previous quests here and was exploring deeper into the forest. By the time she realized it she couldn't see the plains and she was surrounded by thick trees. Just a bit further was the spot she was thinking about. It was a opening in the forest full of grass with scattered boulders and trees. Kimi did some final preparation by jumping on one of the boulders, doing some stretching, and scanning the area for a boar.

"Aha! Found one." Kimi said as she spotted a boar. This was her first time encountering one alone. So Kimi didn't know how to proceed with this, but she knew she had to react soon or else the boar might just wonder off. Right then Kimi thought of something. She hadn't used her sword art yet so now would be the best time to test it. She then began to run at the boar and yelled "Aggressive Twins!" She then unleashed a flurry of left and right jabs in a furious combination. Knocking the beast back into a rock it let out a heavy grunt, and began to charge back at Kimi. As it was charging Kimi didn't have to dodge. It seemed the boar was still disorientated from the flurry of attacks that it tripped on itself when charging towards her. When this happened Kimi couldn't help, but be more excited now that she knew she could fend for herself.

Kimis' first trade of blows was too good to be true. She never expected this to turn out the way it is now. With the boar on the floor Kimi quickly attack again while she still held the advantage. She quickly rushed to the boar she decided to get a leap going to make the hit harder. As she came down with her arm cocked back and ready to deliver a blow the boar could only watch as it was still hasn't recovered from tripping. *CRACK* The ground beneath the boar cracked from the weight of the hit. Despite that hit, the boar seemed to be moving and tried to retaliate only to having to miss when Kimi dodged back. Things were turning out way too good to be true for Kimi. As she felt the adrenaline rush of the fight, she kinda hoped that the boar was more sturdy so she could continue pounding it down.

Kimi could tell that this was the end of the line for her opponent. The boar was bloody, beaten, and bruised. It was quite obvious that the next strike to the boar will finish him off. That only if Kimi could land the finishing blow to begin with though. After the nimble dodge she did earlier. Kimi tried to go in for another hit, but missed the boar when it did a side stepped out of the way. The boar on the other hand was getting tired of these games and went for a tackle with its tusks when Kimi missed. Unlike Kimis' missing hit, she managed to dodge the boars tusks as the beast drove right past her. "Now that's cutting it close" she thought to herself as she was recovering from her dodge. Kimi prepared herself for another attack. She stared down the boar as to intimidate it from attack before she gets her chance too.

Kimi ran up to the boar once again with her fist cocked back like a hammer of a pistol. As she came down like the same devastating hit she connected earlier. The boar raised its tusks and tackled her mid air. The tusks would've dug itself into Kimi if it weren't for her armor, but even so she was sent flying. As she flew from that hit Kimi landed the floor and slide across the ground which kicked up dust. Things were looking like a real battle now. It was astonishing that her luck earlier into the fight was so good up until this point where she let her head get the best of her. Now that she snapped back into reality with that hit. Kimi realized she can't make reckless moves like that and repeat attacks the same. After all this is her first time fighting like her life depended on it. With that on mind Kimi assumed her fighting stance she learned from her brothers back in real life.

Now that Kimi felt as if things were looking south for here. She decided to wait for the boar to make the first move and attack her. Kimi wasn't used to taking up a defensive stance, but a change of tactics was needed. For her to finish this boar off was the only thing she really wanted. Not only for her quest, but for the self satisfaction of finally soloing. Even more so for fight and doing a quest without anyone around to help. The boar gave a heavy snort and charged at Kimi, but again kimi dodged it. The boar came so close to Kimi that she couldn't react and had to focus on dodging the charge. Things were heating up for the two opponents. "If only i can land one hit. I bet it would finish off this boar." Kimi said with her eyebrows knit. Kimi took up her stance before hoping that this time she might be able to react fast enough to land a hit when she dodges.

The ground around the two was no longer filled with healthy looking grass. Now it was full of skid marks and unearthed grass. Just this small encounter was enough to change the scenery so much that Kimi couldn't tell its the same spot without having to look at the trees and boulders that surround them. The boar once again charged at Kimi kicking up dirt and grass along the way changing the landscape. This time it seemed that with how badly the landscape has changed and injured the boar is. It was easier for Kimi to dodge out of the way with little to no effort. As she tried following up the dodge with a kick to the boars side. Kimi failed miserably and fell. "Darn..." She said as she fell to the floor. This fight was turning out awkward for the both of them missing. Karma really didn't feel like working with Kimi and it seemed to enjoy seeing her fail.

"Come on! Just one hit. Just one..." Kimi told herself in frustration. The battle that seemed to be in her favor was changing from a heated battle into a joke. Well at least in her opinion it would seem as one. Luckily no one was around to judge her or else she couldn't show her face in public. As Kimi was busy thinking how troublesome the boar was. It began charging at her without warning. The boar landed a solid hit, and it was stronger than the previous one. Kimi really felt the hit as she was trampled over. "That's rude!" Kimi said in anger as she was taken off guard that time. It seemed the frustration that manifested the boar was making it stronger or so it seemed. Without thinking Kimi charged back at the boar to return a favor, but the boar was ready and dodged away. This only made Kimi feel more frustrated than she already was because shes been unable to land a finishing blow. "PLEASE! Just let me get one hit on you." She said out loud.

Hopefully now will be the time Kimi actually gets to defeat this annoying boar. Everything was going south for her after she did a good number on the boar. Kimi let the boar come at her again, but it seemed to hesitate. The boar seemed to be out of breath and Kimi used this opportunity to strike while the advantage was still present. Kimi hurried up and ran up to the boar to strike, but when she came to striking distance she slipped. "Wow! Really now?!" Kimi said in frustration. As for the boar, it seemed to not have moved just to catch its breath. This was more insulting to Kimi because it felt as if she wasn't a real threat. With how she's been doing so far that isn't to far from home. Kimi picked herself up and dusted off. "Don't lose hope now..." She said under her breath. Kimi was trying to think of a better way to proceed with this fight while the boar is catching its breath.

Kimi was trying to remember all that her brothers have taught her about fighting. Then one thing came to mind that she hasn't tried to do. She clearly remembered when striking its always best to not force a punch, but deliver it with little tension and make the impact full of it. That was the best way to punch as she could recall. The boar seemed to have recovered a bit and was rearing to charge at Kimi. This time Kimi was more than prepared and with the advice she remembered from her brothers, hopefully things will turn out smoothly. As the boar began charging Kimi eye'd it down and took her stance with her arms up. Right as the boar was close enough, it took a small leap to make the hit more devastating. This time however it was different, and now with the boar up in the air it was time to return a favor. She swung her whole arm and body down onto the head of the boar as soon as it was in reaching distance. Once again like earlier the boar created cracks on the ground just a meter in front of Kimi, but this time it wasn't getting up. Slowly the boar faded to pixels and disappeared. "Finally! That took forever!" Kimi yelled in accomplishment nearly in tears.

As Kimi finished off the boar and collected her loot she went to take a break. "Man that was annoying! Thought i could've finished him off sooner." she said as scanned the barren landscape they tore up. Luckily for her, the boar managed to drop the 2 tier 1 materials she needed and so she decided to make her way back. At the moment though she thought it would just be best to rest while she can. The fight took much longer than needed and even longer than she expected. Kimi jumped on top of a nearby boulder and got a good look around to see if there were any other boars nearby, but nothing came up. The weather was still very pleasant from where she sat, and she could almost sleep here if it wasn't for the monster that would attack. 

No longer than 15 minutes passed before she started making her way back. Now that she could turn in the quest she really didn't know what she would use for an instrument. "It's never too late to learn." She thought to herself.

Kimi spent the majority of her way out of the forest thinking of what she might want to play. Never in her life has she really thought of learning to play an instrument. Especially since half the time she spent in her house away from others. Despite that Kimi was still content in learning how to play whatever instrument may be available. Kimi could almost see the plains as the edge of the thick forest neared. She still felt as if there should be something she should do before going back. Anyways it wasn't often shes this far out of the safe zone. Before Kimi left the forest a thought came to mind. "I should probably look for materials while I'm out here." She said. Kimi was looking along the edge of the forest for something that might show some value. As she was weaving through the trees to spot for anymore materials, nothing presented itself. At least that was until she saw some special looking flower that was sprouting just at the base of a tree. When she made her way to pick up this peculiar flower. She tripped and crushed it, making it dissipate into the air "The hell! really?" She said annoyed "seems karma still isn't on my side."

Kimi decided not to let that failure get her down and continued to search for more material. "There's gotta be something around here." She said searching the areas for more material. This time instead of going through the forest though, she went to the plains and looked about. Again nothing in the vast plains presented itself, but at least this time she didn't crush one. She soon gave up and decided just to make her way back. As she was enjoying the gentle cool breeze in the mild beating heat of the sun, Kimi uttered "Can i really make col through performing?" She hasn't heard or met someone yet with the same profession as the one shes aiming to be. So she couldn't put her finger to what was expected of her, or in the very least what they do. Kimi thought long and hard about this until she began to see the gate of safety that was one of the entrances of the Town of Beginnings.

As she was nearing the Town of beginnings, something from behind her grunted. It was another boar, and from the looks of it the beast actually followed her from the forest. Luckily for Kimi she had more than enough time to make a full recovery from her last battle. As soon as she took notice of the boar it attacked opening with a charge. Thankfully for Kimi she noticed the boar in time to react to the charge and was able to evade. She was getting more and more used to the play of battling and dodged instinctively. As the boar came to a halt, Kimi connected a punch at its side before it could turn to its opponent. Things were turning out fairly well for Kimi. With one hit in she completely forgot how the previous battle went and was excited to start a new one. She assumed a stance to prepare herself for whatever the boar had to throw at her.

After landing the hit the boar seemed to already be furious and charged again. This time Kimi was met with the boars tusks. She wasn't prepared for that attack that the boar landed. Kimi dragged along the dirt ground sending dust into the air. The hit she received was harder than she expected. Unlike last time where she had the advantage, kimi felt as if she was on equal grounds now. Good thing she had pretty solid armor though, but even with that she could feel the hits. Kimi got up as soon as she could and began to rush at the beast yelling "Aggressive Twins!!!" She performed a combination of jabs each of devastating power. She pushed the boar back a few meters with the flurry of punches she delivered and quickly retreaded back to a safer distance. The boar was very beat now and you could see blood running down its mouth. Thing are looking up for Kimi once again, hopefully this time the fight won't drag on.

As Kimi backed off the boar began charging again without warning. Kimi couldn't dodge this time she was still catching her breath from the attack she released earlier. The hit now wasn't as bad as before, but she could still feel the sting throughout her body as she was trampled. When Kimi picked herself up she tried to attack the same way she did before when the boar hasn't fully turned around yet. Sadly though Kimi lost her footing when trying to rush with the attack she missed. When things began looking down, Kimi just remembered the advice she recalled earlier and tried to say focused. She took up a defensive position and prepared herself to counter or dodge the next attack the boar will be doing. The atmosphere began tensing up as the two stared each other down. The boar was doing much better than the previous one she fought. Kimi began to think that this might drag on a while longer too and hopefully that won't be the case.

Now that the two had entered a serious battle. They couldn't afford to make the slightest mistake as it would only leave themselves open to attack. With Kimi in a defense position the boar seemed to hesitate on charging. Soon enough though, it got tired of waiting and began charging regardless of what is to come. Being fully prepared, as soon as the boar got into striking range she did a side step out of the way and landed a very solid hit to the ribs of the beast sending it sliding along the floor. Kimi could see that the boar was going to collapse any minute now. All she had to do was land one more solid punch and that would be over for the beast. As for what was going on with the beast it had trouble picking itself up, but it managed to eventually. Kimi assumed her position once again and readied herself to strike. Though this time, she felt the need to rush the boar as soon as possible.
