[SP-F2] <<Let There Be Light>> A light in the dark

Right as Kimi gotten the chance to take a break, it was quickly ruined by a screech from deeper in the cave. From the depths of the cave emerged another Giant Bat and it flew towards Kimi without any hesitation. Kimi managed to roll away a bit from the bat, but it still managed to scratch her in the process. Regardless if she didn't dodge she knew that damage might've been worse. "Ugh... Not another one..." Kimi thought to herself as she was still catching her breath. Kimi was already showing signs of fatigue. Aside from the lack of energy and being scratched up a bit. She was more mentally tired than anything else. Being in the cave and having to rely on other senses made it even more difficult as she was not accustomed to it. "Alrighty then!!!" Kimi said loudly with a very heavy tone of annoyance. "Lets get this over with."

Kimi picked herself up off the ground and prepared to fight the Giant Bat, but it seemed that the bat didn't want to do anything as of the moment. "Guess ill take my turn and attack." Kimi said to herself. Kimi quickly rushed forward towards the Giant Bat in an attempt to lay a few heavy hits while it wasn't moving around much. This attack of course was too easily dodged by the Giant Bat as it wasn't really hurt yet. It seemed as if this kind of fight was one of those that would drag on a while before anything productive could happen. Almost like the previous skirmish before this one. However Kimi tried to keep a level head about it and just wanted to defeat it as soon as possible. Kimi back off a decent distance away from the Giant Bat, but just enough so she can also see and attack it. Since the previous fight Kimis' eyes has adjusted a little bit so she could see more, but it still wasn't enough.

As Kimi was keeping a good eye on the Giant Bat to see if were to make any sudden movements. Kimi thought it would probably be best for her to take the initiative to attack first instead of waiting. As she made a stance and began running towards the Giant Bat. Kimi made the mistake of running in the dark cave and took a slight misstep which the Giant Bat took advantage of. When she went to catch her fall the Giant Bat came at her once again, but not before Kimi could manage a lucky kick to her attacker. Both the Giant Bat and Kimi were on the floor now, but Kimi could already tell that the trade of blows they just had now was effecting the Giant Bat more. Kimi picked herself up and scanned the area for where the Giant Bat has gone, but it seemed it already moved somewhere else. Now Kimi could really only defend the next attack.

Kimi prepared herself as best she could with what she could see and hear. A few moments passed where she thought the Giant Bat would make a move, but nothing was really happening. Kimi was slowly getting tired of the repeated false alarms and just when she dropped her guard the Giant Bat made its move. The Giant Bat swooped in from right above her, one of the only spots she really didn't pay much attention to. The Giant Bat got a really heavy attack in on Kimi and she couldn't do much but drop to the floor after. Once again the Giant Bat vanished into the darkness of the cave. It was too difficult to track the Giant Bat in the darkness, but it wasn't entirely invisible to Kimi. Still it was too difficult to actually give it a try to retaliate. Kimi just assumed her defense position in case the it would go for another attack.

The same thing happened once again with the Giant Bat using the darkness to its advantage. This time Kimi was more prepared for whatever was to come and made sure to cover all her blind spots by putting her back against the wall. With this she knew that the only real way for the Giant Bat to attack was head on. This time around it seemed as though the Giant Bat grew impatient and charged ahead. As soon as the Giant Bat came into Kimi vision it was already too late and Kimi took a very bad tackle to the stomach. With her back against the wall the hit felt even stronger that it should have, but this wasn't a free hit for the bat. Kimi just managed to get a good uppercut onto the Giant Bat as it was about to fly away. Still though the hit Kimi received from the Giant Bat was enough for her to feel pain a bit.

The hit Kimi got on her side was still emanating some stinging pain still, but it was subsiding slightly. Kimi dusted herself off and planted her feet again to prepare for the next attack. This time Kimi felt as if she was more prepared and even thought of trying to attack first or really just countering the attack the Giant Bat might attempt next. Again she placed her back to the wall to make it easier to cover her blind spots and try to retaliate when the Giant Bat attacks. It wasn't too long until the Bat tried once more to get a strong hit onto Kimi. This time she was more than prepared and changed stances to land a attack, but still she was too slow and took another hit. Even though Kimi got hit again like before she managed to land a more devastating attack on the Bat.

Even though the two exchanged attacks the Giant Bat looked worse than Kimi. Any moment now and it would fall and Kimi was looking for this moment. As the Giant Bat flew back into the darkness Kimi noticed that it was significantly slower than before. With the Giant Bats back turned to Kimi she decided to rush it with out any hesitation. To the Bats surprise this attack was unexpected and the Bat took the full brunt of the hit making it hit the floor. Luckily Kimi managed to muster up the strength and breath to attempt such a attack, and it all payed off. The Bat laid on the floor not moving for a moment, but picked itself up. Even though the Bat was up it didn't attempt to fly. Kimi just assumed because it was close to being defeated. If there was more light in this cave, Kimi could identify its wounds, but she already knew that it was heavily bruised and bloodied.

As the Giant Bat seemed to not want to move from its spot. At least that's what it seemed to her. It was most likely that the Bat was unable to fly at this point. With that in mind Kimi quickly went in for the finishing blow on the Giant Bat. When Kimi came closer to the beast Kimi once again failed and tripped. This time she landed on the Giant Bat. Kimi noticed that her fall was weird as if the Bat was only there for a split second. As she picked herself up to check on what remained of the Bat. All she could make up was that it started to turn into pixels and faded away into the darkness. "Ha! That's some way to go." Kimi laughed to herself as she sat up and inspected the loot. Kimi sat around dusting herself off and taking care of whatever minor scratches she could brush off before she decided to make a move on.

Kimi took her time picking herself up making sure not to alert anymore bats that might be hanging around, and quickly but carefully made her way through the caves. As she entered deeper Kimi didn't realize that the cave was sloping upwards and from the depths she could make out a light. It seemed as if this cave had more than one entrance. Kimis' eyes brightened up as she gazed at the light "Finally out of this place." She said in a sigh of relief. Kimi dragged her feet making her way out, but at the same time keeping her guard up to make sure no more annoying bats attack. As she exited the cave she heard whimpering from the distance. Kimi was too busy with the Giant Bats that she nearly forgot the reason why she was here and quickly went to check out what was making that sound.

Not to far from the cave entrance was a open forest with trees spread out neatly and nicely. It seemed that despite the time Kimi spent within the cave the sun was still out and shining, but with notable difference because clouds were really covering the sky. Kimi ran towards the whimpering hoping she wasn't too late and that the missing child isn't hurt badly. After some searching and weaving though the trees and shrubbery. Kimi saw in a distance a lonesome child sitting against a tree with their head buried between their legs. "Thank god i made it in time." Kimi said in a sigh of relief as she slowed down her pace when approaching the kid. "Hello?" Kimi muttered in a soft voice as to not scare the child. "Are you alright? You're mother has been worried about you. I'm here to take you back." The child raised its head towards Kimi and stopped her whimpering for a bit. It seemed she was too in shock to say anything, but the kid knew that Kimi as there to help. Kimi approached the child slowly and just placed her hand on the kids head and patted her. "Lets get going? You don't want to keep your mother waiting."

It took some time, but it wasn't long until Kimi made her way back to the worried mother. Luckily for Kimi they didn't have to go though the cave once again because there happened to be a road not to far from here the child was found. The instant the child behind Kimi saw her mother they ran up to each other and hugged. It was a very heart warming moment and one that Kimi was proud to be apart of. "Thank you so very much! I'll be sure to watch over her more carefully from now on." With that said Kimi stayed for a little while to rest up and then set off.
