[PP-F4] «Feeding the Enemy» Snow Fur Fun

Recommended Posts

Kimi remained quiet until Kaya spoke up about continuing to follow the fluff of white that ran away. Kimi quickly responded with a "Sure" as she shrugged with a friendly smile. Kimi was really just there to help and pay back Kaya for the help she gave earlier on when she first gained the resolve to make it to the frontlines. As Kimi waited for a response from Telrenya and Morgan, she decided to take a look around if she could find anymore materials that might come in handy for her. Especially since she would be starting up her shop soon. Kimi kicked up some snow to try to uncover what might be beneath it. As she was continuing to do so Kimi ended up kicking something tough which made her bend her knee to rub her foot. Upon closer inspection of what she hit, Kimi realized that she hit a Recording Crystal which she could use for her craft.

Telrenya let out a small chuckle at the pink-haired girl's enthusiasm, giving a small shake of her head. "No trouble at all." She assured, the hint of a hidden smile carrying through her words. The girl slipped her thumb through a loose leather strap at her belt as the group made way for the forest where the furry creature had dashed off to.

With the trees overhead providing only a bit of respite from the heavy snowfall of the open plains, Telrenya kept her jade eyes open and busy, scanning for anything of interest. Whether that be monsters or materials, none made themselves known to her.

Walking to the back-right of the group, the toe of her boot suddenly caught on an upturned root, causing the masked woman to trip directly into the snow-covered forest floor. Swearing that the gnarled wood wasn't there a second ago, Telrenya hadn't the time to push herself up with a small groan before the very same root wrapped itself tightly around her nearest ankle. In one swift motion, the living forest pulled the girl into the air, eliciting a short scream at the sudden motion.

On the other side of the group, a set of nearly-identical roots snaked their way through the soft powder on the ground, making their way towards the bespectacled girl with a bright red fringe.

He would watch with a smile as Kaya would agree with him, simultaneously slamming her fist into the palm of her hand. The woman would ask for them to remain with her until they found the fluffy creature as to which Morgen nodded. "Of course!" They quickened their pace, Jonathan's steps light and graceful. Alfa Invigorate helped him with balance and remaining light footed, but doubted it helped any with accuracy, evasion or stealth. He could probably develop a stronger potion that would do such, but it would require reading of alchemy. Alchemy books that he did not yet possess. His mind quickly moved to the recent books he had managed to get a hold of that could change appearance. It had taken him a month of private work before finally being satisfied with his appearance.

The masked woman falling is what brought him back to attention. He chuckled. "You alright? Yo-" Something brown was wrapping itself around her leg. Then quicker than a flash of light, she was hoisted into the air, dangling. She would scream and Jonathan would pull out his sword. "Fiddle sticks" He couldn't show off too much power or else his cover would be blown. A root snaked his was toward him and he quickly maneuvered his blade to sever it. His blade cut cleanly through, Teion the blacksmith's workmanship on it showing. The root still connected to the tree snaked backwards, returned back to it. "I'll have to cut her down" He told himself. The only way to do that however, was to get branches upward for him to leap on.
