About: History/personality

Nero Shizugami was an avid gamer, both interested in VR games and console/pc. But he wasn't one of those fat dudes who sat in their moms basement all the time playing them. No, he did make sure that he was a helpful and contributive member to society. Nero was on his high school track team, team captain of course, and had an amazingly large amount of physical endurance. He also was one of the smarter kids at school. Not the smartest of course, but Nero was up there. Nero, if he's not playing video games, is usually either reading, meditating, or partying at some friends house.

All of it changed when he had heard about the game "Sword Art Online". He had seen leaked gameplay and watched all of the beta tester interviews, so naturally Nero was pumped when the game first hit stores and was available at his local Target.

He was blissfully ignorant of the danger he had put himself in when he finally brought his copy of Sword Art Online. Nero's parents weren't home, and were going to be gone for quite a while, so he decided to test the game out himself. Not wanting any spoilers or something like that to hinder the surprise and enjoyment of exploring the game through his fresh new eyes, he avoided all internet that had anything to do with the game.

Nero popped the disc into the headset, plopped it on his head, and spoke the words that would spell certain doom for him:

"LINK START!"

When he first entered the game, he saw nothing wrong or anything unusual with it. It seemed so far advanced though. Nero had seen nothing like SAO until now. It really made him feel as if he was living a second life.

Sadly, he didn't know that this could also mean certain doom for both of his lives.

After the Gamemaster, or Kayaba, told the players of their morbid fate, Nero, or now Neo, sprinted out into the fields to begin grinding at once. For he knew he had no other choice.

Neo is very much a self-sufficient kind of player. He never wants to resort to having people help and/or pity him in any way, shape, or form. He's an offensive player, and runs a hit hard in the first couple of blows kind of strategy.

Virtues:

Determined:

Neo's determination knows no bounds and seemingly has no limits. He is always driven to meet the next challenge, beat the next boss, clear the next floor, even if it's too difficult for even himself. It doesn't matter what's in his way, he'll either tell it to move the hell out of the way or just break and tear into it, moving onward after whatever obstacle he had faced was obliterated.

Kind:

Although he does barely interact with other people in the games he plays and in real life apart from his friends, he's never afraid to lend out a helping hand or a fee soothing words. He may act emotionally detached from time to time, but he understands not many will be able to cope with this responsibility so soon. So, in turn, Neo is ready to help anyone through any hard time they may be going through.

Informative/Knowledgable:

Because of his experience in playing both console games, Virtual Reality games, and numerous MMORPGs, he is very knowledgable when it comes to identifying enemies' attack patterns, calculating drop chances for armor, and just exactly how much butter to put into your sandwich to make it have that nice burst of flavor. While he may not be a beaters per se, he still is quite knowledgable about game mechanics and such. If you're curious about how some button or what effects you should put on your sword to make it look cooler, just ask Neo.

Flaws:

Isolated:

Being a solo player means that you're going to be alone the majority of the time you're playing your game. This means while Neo does like to be social and have fun and make friends, he really can't do much of that a lot because it comes in conflict of his play style. No friends means no support. No support means no second chances and a greater risk of failure for Neo.

Overconfidence:

While it may not happen often to Neo, he does in some cases grow overconfident. Maybe he had been practicing a skill a lot, or maybe he got some new OP armor. It doesn't really matter. Things of that kind do sometimes push his ego over the edge into dangerous zones, in which he can sometimes act insensitive and much more of a jerk than he should ever act. And in those cases, he does need to be put back into his place.

Rash/Brash Actions:

In the very rare case in which emotions cloud Neos judgement, he normally acts emotionally detached during battle, it can lead to many irrational decisions by Neo. Whether it be by the spur of the moment or whatever is at stake, it can lead him to break focus and rely upon his instinct. In which case, his instinct only works 25% of the time. The other 75% are a whole bunch of his screw ups.
