[SP-F2] Bindings of the Merchant <<Breaking the Unbreakable>>

Recommended Posts

It's been many months since his capture, held for ransom. But not once did his smile break while his purple eyes were open, a smug smile that made those who hold him want to beat him to a bloody pulp. Unfortunately for them, a sudden strength consumes the snowy player and cuts through them like paper. As if he would get captured like this in the first place, but it did help him with remembering his purpose for being in the game. On top of this, it was his only way to access the mountaintops, where they "forced" him to do manual labor for them. In the case where they assigned him to handle this boulder, he knew that he was going to get out of here. Metal bars weren't in the way this time, and he was longing to test out this new weapon skill out on them once he obtained it. Many months spent to complete a quest, an insanity that only he could pull off.

"Move it, doggo!" One of the bandits would order, pushing him by the back, forcing a small stumble forward. The smile remained intact, though the intent behind it only revealed malice. With one look over his shoulder, he observed the height of this masked player. Oh yes, this one was going to be the first victim to his wrath after this boulder bites the dust. Well, it midgets were never people in the first place anyways. Snow thought to himself, continuing to walk forward at the same pace he did before. Screw their orders, he was taking his own pace. If they were to do that again, maybe he'll have to delay this quest so that he can remind them that their prisoner was the one holding the keys to the cell. Fortunately, they didn't dare do that, so they get to see another day. Nothing too unfamiliar though, this cycle has been moving on for a while, they know better than to push his buttons twice in a row.

The Boulder was huge, surely durable for a rock, but it didn't look too hard to break through with a spear. Unfortunately, he was not using a spear, so actual effort needed to be applied. With Kyo though, this boulder was going to be taken down. Guards were all around him with all sorts of weapons in their hands, waiting for the moment to strike if he did something fishy. Cheating players wishing to make slaves will find themselves with punctured virtual organs by the end of this barrage. Effortlessly, he took one might crack through the core of the rock with a fiery right hook, splitting the outer layer of it with that impact alone. His purple eyes locked onto the health bar of the rock, noticing the familiar red critical he has yet to see for a long time as well as the green bar slowly being eaten by the empty space. Just a little bit more than a fourth of the health bar bit the dust, showing successful results.

Depressing are the results of one who wishes to inflict damage onto a boulder, but cannot when the boulder acts like a monster and roughens up when it is beginning to take damage. Only in a video game would this be possible, and Sey failed the reality check in this world when he thought the same amount of strength was going to get him anywhere in this case. Fortunately for him however, his eyes managed to narrow in on the target's weak point, the core. In doing so, his body just barely managed to make the cut with this blow, activating the Concentration skill successfully. This next high kick landed successfully on the surface of the rock, cracking it open even more. This time, the outer shell broke away and crumbled to humble pieces. The health bar above was VERY close to turning yellow, but not quite there. There was still plenty of fight left in him however, and he planned to use it all until he gained Martial Arts.

The system can't always be in his favor forever, as the pinpoint will last only as long as a few seconds. Now Sey needs to deal with the result of ignorance to the reality of Aincrad. In an attempt to use the momentum that the right kick had, he spun in a full 360 rotation with his left leg extended. When the heel connected with the rock, he dropped onto the ground on his back. No damage had been inflicted onto the damn rock, despite using the same amount of force. Some of the guards laughed, expected during this time of failure. But they'll get their fair share of pain when he was done with this. None of them knew that he previously took this quest, so the rock the guard so preciously will shatter and be the demise of all of them. But that requires managing to break through the defense of a giant rock first, so he would redirect his focus back onto that as his goal.

He spun around with his left leg extended,  a leg sweep in the event where a guard got too close. It might mean losing the chance to get this skill, but he was going to prevent his health from getting lower while he had a lack of equipment on him. No one was there, so he got back up onto his feet again before looking at the boulder again. Above it was a message that said "No Damage", just so the game could add insult to injury. Well, better than missing an enemy that is unable to move. Kicking seemed like a bad idea now, so he aimed to punch the boulder with a strong right hook he started off with once again. But the damage didn't pass through, but somehow instead knocked him back to the ground as if the rock retaliated. No damage was done, but he was dazed from the fact that the rock somehow pushed back against a player.

Pathetic, he was not getting lucky with these damn hits. And this was no different, as he was now kind of dazed from the fact that an inanimate object pushed him back. It was too late to turn back now, not with the sharks swimming around him, waiting for him to lose enough power so that he'll end up too tired to fight them once he was done. Opening the inventory would be suicide for him, as he needed the time to get the spear out., so that option was plucked out from the basket. His purple eyes glared at the boulder, feeling it taunt him and telling him to try again. It has, to have, A WEAKNESS... Somewhere. Even the smile that is usually equipped disappeared now, the smirk that told others that he was in control. Even at the level he was at now, he managed to struggle against a monster with the health bar of a level three player. Not even, as that health bar seemed even smaller.

Trying to keep as much chill as he could, he would breathe in the warm air of the forest. Not that it helped him any, but it gave him some stalling time before given the chance to strike again. Placing his palms in his pockets, he would aim a high kick to the core of the rock again, only to inflict no damage onto it. But this time, nothing came from the rock. The numbers game of the system was playing a cheap prank that only brought out the worst in him, the health bar so close to the yellow zone, yet not ever touching it despite trying to do so for so long. A bad day to try to get the rock down perhaps, but the chances were slightly in his favor thanks to his gear. So with that in mind... Why was he failing this so many times? Complaining wasn't going to help however, placing his foot down and slamming it back through the boulder certainly was though. As usual, he aimed for the kicks, bracing for impact in case his luck goes further down the drain.

Damage... Damage... DAMAGE! Sey just wanted some damage on this damn rock, hope rising as he would continue to slam his leg against the surface of the boulder. Screw this, he was not doing just one kick, he was going to keep this stupid game going over and over until a massive dent was mad on that one area. Slowly seeing the health bar of the rock finally go down was just beautiful to him, it made him continue to barrage so that he could capitalize. None of them were critical hits, but they sure were close to the critical hit point thanks to the lack of sword arts to be used. At last, the health bar was in the low yellow and near the red. Another tease, but remembering the critical hit before, he knew that it was not going to be good to hope for a OHKO from this point. But two hits was a different story, two massive swings. At least it cooled him off, and he stood back with a relaxed posture and icy gaze once again.

To think that his luck may have turned around, but his kick bit the dust as the rock pushed back once again with a mighty gust of wind. Again, no damage. But a critical failure in his strikes was making this so much worse than he would like. Due to his changed momentum, he didn't bother to brace for the impact, and of course he would be sent back flying from the unwelcome winds. Perhaps he needed to go back to accuracy school, as his luck with hitting an opponent is doing nothing but jack as of right now. The guards of course laughed at the failure. Stupid orange crystals and their arrogance. But he was so close to getting the Martial Arts skill, he just needed to press on just a little bit more and soon he'll use lovely buzzsaw kicks on all of them, perhaps even sending them to the yellow zone while doing it. As enticing as that sounds, he wasn't there yet, he needed to get back up and focus on the job.

Was putting in any emotion into this worth it anymore? Absolutely not, he just wanted to get those two hits in and get the adrenaline rush through his veins once again, the feeling of victory back through him. Because right now, he felt like he was screwing this up, that there was some secret that he was missing that needed to be fixed so that he wouldn't be taking massive losses like this one. Placing his body up once again, he would walk over to the stone boulder and kick it once again, this time leaving a foot more loose rather than tight like he usually did it. Surprisingly enough, with a loose kick, he managed to get more damage in than the regular tightened muscles he had. A strange concept of this game, but it was likely just the numbers giving him a leg up once again. At last, the red zone was entered and a bunch of pixels remained in the health bar of the boulder.

More kicks, more failures, the health bar was not going down. Sey concluded that this was an inconsistent monster with no real way of beating without having to use accuracy. Even then, he kept on getting critical failures. Eventually, another gust of wind launched his body from the rock once again. At least he braced for it this time, thus now flipping his body over so that he landed on his feet again. A chill stance was taken, his hands in his pockets while his legs stood at shoulder length, the right foot in front of the left. Perhaps this was a prank on him given to the guards to make sure that he suffered this terrible task. Without Kyo by his side, he was going to be spending days out here punching a rock. At the end of the day, the snow-haired player knew that he was perhaps luckier than most others who likely were searching for a familiar at this moment.

Finally, he had enough. One more lazy kick and that was it. So he decided to treat this object like a monster. Meaning the buildup of going around the boulder and trying to sweep it from the ground was there. After that miserable attempt, he jumped up to the top of the boulder before jumping on it again, this time flipping over halfway through so that his head faced down. With one extended fist launched towards the boulder, he would smash it to many brittle pieces and leave nothing but dust remaining. The instant he landed back on the ground, he felt something new in him. Like his instincts have been raised and that he could smash the bones of any fool that stood in his way. Of course, this wasn't true without the proper gear to back this up, but it was pretty damn close. Now all he needed to do was bust out of here, he got the skill he wanted, it was time to return back to the part of Aincrad he belonged to. A merchant at heart, he wanted to get back to the past.

"Aye! Take him back to the cell and call it a day!" One of them ordered, trying to play this gag once again. Spears were held at him, but not a single one bothered to threaten him. instead, he would take one of them by the pole, then throwing it to the side. This new energy gave him the confidence to face off against weapons of long range, perhaps he should have done this quest a long time ago. With the massive level difference working in his favor, he was going to have no problem dealing with these pricks. The weaponless one ordered all of them to attack Sey, clearly unable to do the work without his precious weapon. The snow-haired player gave the knee to the spear to cut it in half before throwing the two pieces to the side. Weapons were useless when instinct and skill came to play, it was amazing that he did not realize this sooner. The guards neared him, preparing for a battle they were unable to win.

The first of the few sliced down with the spear, an awkward way of using it, but it was perfect for Sey to take advantage of. As if seeing it in slow motion, he neatly dodged to the side before jumping up onto the wooden pole of the weapon. Using it as a small tightrope, he would dash across it before making it to the end in a second. At this point, he would be airborne, his foot so close to the face of the man. With one swift kick to the jack, he knocked the player against the wall and caused some serious damage. Now with the damage multiplier back in action, he can deal massive damage, even more so than the average spear user. At least ones who only use the one handed version like he did before. Admittedly, he still will be using it, but he was going to end up getting some unique wrapping gloves. And when he does, that will be when he strives to be a true DPS class. This was only the beginning.

The rest of the guards seemed daring enough to not even flinch, this time all of them somewhat smart enough to rush him at the same time rather than trying play hero. Unfortunately for every one of them, they were all so dull and predictable with their movements. So slow, they can be seen and acted upon without a scratch on his body, the level difference is insane in an MMO game, but that was just how life worked. The strongest will survive. One of them didn't even bother trying to use their spear. They instead aimed a high boot kick towards his face, which he easily moved towards the side to avoid. With his right arm, he held the foot by the ankle so that he was locked in place. His free left palm then slammed upwards to the chin to cause serious damage to the neck and knocking that player back as well. He stumbled into a few more of his friends, causing them all to crash towards the ground.

There were three left, still storming the front to try to arrest him and put him in perhaps a worse cell than they gave him. Like hell was he going to be put back behind bars, these three can burn in hell with that thought. Two of them tried to stab him with their spears, in which he jumped to the side to prevent that being the case. The third one came up close, far more precise with his control and aim that Sey found himself merely dodging the stabs without finding an opening. Part of this was because the other two were being watched over, and so his full attention couldn't be put on this one skilled warrior. Eventually however, one of the clumsy spear fighters missed so badly that Sey didn't even have to move to dodge, likely thanks to the sexy random system the game has. Taking this chance, Sey swiftly grabbed the pole of the spear and threw it to the side to force the player to retreat, this now leaving him with two fools to fight.

The skilled spear fighter aimed for the legs with a quick sweep, though that move was fatal and allowed Sey to jump and aim for a kick to the face. His buddy took this chance and swung at Sey to knock him back to the ground and prevent the kick from happening. A small portion of damage had been taken, but now the hate goes towards that fool who just tried to get a good hit in. With his icy gaze now freezing through the hearts of the foe, he would take aim with a tornado kick. A block with the spear wasn't enough to block the force, the spear thin enough to break with the kick, not only striking through the spear, but also striking the kidney of the enemy in the process. This caused a forced stumble, as the kidney is a crucial area not to take damage in, so he would end up finishing the job with a second high kick to the jaw of the distracted opponent. Their body flew to the side and crashed into a stone wall.

Finally, just the skilled one. The both of them glared at each other, the fighter and the spear wielder. Reinforcements were likely coming, so Sey would be wise to make the first move and end this before more arrived. There was only so much energy in him that he could use to fight with. So the snow-haired player charged forward with his arms by his side and behind him, the right balled into a fist. Taking a swing, he would aim a swift right hook to the jaw of the enemy. It missed as he stepped back, so Sey followed it with his right leg moving on the ground to cause a sweep. Though the sweep was successful, the spear wielder landed on his palm and flipped back up to his feat. Sey made sure to keep running so the chase could continue, he can't let the reinforcements arrive, and keeping this pressure active allows him to avoid retaliation. Keeping his punches swift, he continued to try to get that sweet spot at least once. For a low level player, this one can certainly dodge.

Finally, he found his opening! First, Sey placed his right leg upwards, which was blocked by the spear pole. But with a swift jump in the air, he pressed his left leg against the face of his opponent to make him stumble. The snow-haired player recovered by placing his palms against the ground, flipping back onto his feet. With the recovery being far faster than the stumble, Sey charged and took this opening with his right first behind his head, showing he was about to slam an explosive fist towards the chest, which should knock this one player back a few days in time. Hell, even his fist was burning a bright orange, showing that there was much power behind the impact. With that, he would carry out said task and cause so much health to be knocked out from the health bar of the opponent, making him fly high into the air and far. Not enough to kill, naturally, but it was enough to put him in the red zone. Mission success.
