Sey 0 Posted January 5, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2018 A click of the queen piece and Sey fell from Check to Checkmate. It took about eight moves to do from each side, perhaps he wasn't so lucky at all. Chess, a game where luck truly didn't mean squat to the pieces, as skill was what it took to eliminate the opposing side of the field. "Are you kidding? The Queen just straight up assassinated my side of the field." Sey announced, his eyes half-closed as he watched his final king piece bite the dust, tipping it over with the tip of his right pointer finger to force it to fall with an awkward clink left on the stone table. With that in mind, he was prepared to go for another round, only to open up his menu and realize that he needed to get going. So he would step up from the table and close the AI controlling the opponent. A funny sign today to show him what kind of day was ahead of him. The queen was about to be dethroned, what was a queen to a fighter?
Sey 0 Posted January 5, 2018 Author #2 Share Posted January 5, 2018 With his new shield and his spear, he should inflict rapid damage onto these small minions of the queen and end their lives quickly. Then she'll show her face and reveal that perhaps the king should have laid off. Unique weaponry was scarce in this game, it was just another sign of his good luck smiling upon him. The plains today were nice and all, but the empty ones were quiet enough to trigger the condition of summoning a few pesky bees. Somewhere among them was the queen and her subjects, he needed to bring them out to him with a sudden massive sweep of the spear. His smile rose a bit, realizing that he gets to raise a bit of havoc for the sake of getting a task done. A yellow streak of light followed the tip of the spear as it trailed through the plains, the winds blowing hard enough to knock a few minions from their hiding places. What fun, they were all pissed off with him and prepared for battle. Sey 0 Posted January 5, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted January 5, 2018 Here they come! Holding the spear tip towards them, he would slice through them as they all arrived. Of course he didn't bother to move out of the way, relying on his heavy damage mitigation in order to prevent them from harming him too badly. Each stinger packed a mighty punch per sting, resulting in a massive wave of damage worth of damage on him. Not enough to put him in any danger, but far more than anything he's ever felt before. Though uncomfortable, he relied a lot on his battle healing ability. For each bee that came through, he sliced through every single one of them and brought most of them to the beautiful yellow zone. The shield allowed him to return the favor to them for hitting him, in which all of them took some damage as well. A smile lapsed on his face, seeing most of them flutter awkwardly from the massive damage they just took right now. And this was only the beginning. Sey 0 Posted January 6, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted January 6, 2018 Though he managed to nail them the first time, they took a quick turn around to continue what was deemed to be a barrage instead of an assault like Sey predicted. Thanks to this, they all managed to pierce through him from behind him without fail, causing him to roll onto the ground, his health dropping down once again. Nothing too big a deal, they were going to die at the end of the battle no matter what anyways. But he'd rather not have to spend time dealing with a wait before fighting the queen. Sey was not going to lose to a bunch of rookie pawn pieces while he was the king. Though he didn't move too much in combat, he was a tall standing tower that didn't fall to the attacks of the bees. So he rolled back onto his feet, spear pointed towards them once again, prepared to fight them all as a bunch. They were being ripped by the thorns of his armor and shield, the damage visible on their body. Sey 0 Posted January 6, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted January 6, 2018 They rushed him again, though the thorns weighed heavy on all their bodies, making them slow and predictable to him. To throw them even further off guard, he charged towards them with his spear extended to the side, left palm pressed against his waist. Once he got in contact with the first be, he sliced its body in half, causing it to shatter to pieces. The second nearly avenged it's fallen brother, the stinger a few inches from his face. With near-natural instincts, he would lean his body back and stab the bee minion, forcing it to shatter as well. Sey flipped back once so that he could recover his posture, but halfway in the air, he found the next target below him, allowing another free kill by throwing the spear down at its head. After landing back on the ground, he picked up the spear once again, he would finish off the final weak bee with a simple stab through where the heart should be located, resulting in a final blow and leaving on last annoying buzz to exist. Sey 0 Posted January 6, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted January 6, 2018 The last bee seemed irritated about losing so much power, thus now making it fight for it's life. A dangerous foe was the one fighting desperately for it's life, though it didn't really affect the power. Still, Sey managed to handle all five of them at once, and now he was struggling to land a strike on this fifth foe. Keeping on the offensive, the snow-haired player slashed wildly towards the body of the bee minion, who narrowly avoided every single hit successfully in the process. But he can't stop now, the instant that he did, he would receive a backlash from the bee for keeping it on the run. Thanks to not relying on the evasion stat, he was forcing himself to continue fighting due to him being able to break the small gap between the both of them. On the plus side, it was nearly down, it should take one more sword art to finish the task. Sey 0 Posted January 6, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted January 6, 2018 Got em! The death of the bee, the spear grew stronger as it began to coat with white light, resulting in the critical alert to trigger. After so many hits, one of them were bound to hit, so he would strike the bee through the heart with a red Critical sign placed above its head. Holy damage applied, he managed to end it quickly with a lot of overkill applied. Of course, this left him open to a sting, but Battle Healing made up for it easily, and the thorns will only cause more damage to be inflicted onto it and making it's death for more intolerable. Eventually it's health got cut to zero and shattered, leaving a last bit of loot. The trigger condition has been triggered, the pawns fell to him without him even breaking so much as a sweet. As a reward for killing the children, the queen bee was likely to pop out from the fields and face him directly, just like the quest demanded of him. With his spear held down, he was prepared for another dance. Sey 0 Posted January 6, 2018 Author #8 Share Posted January 6, 2018 The urge to slice the spear was strong, but he held back his arm from doing so. A queen did not fight alone, she was likely to fight with more subjects. So he refused to bother them for right now, but he'll handle them when the time to fight comes at full energy and health. The health wasn't a concern, but his energy sure was. The annoying buzzes encouraged him to rip through the bees, the annoying animals bothering his business. But time was needed to recover, as being in combat will delay the gain of his energy. Still though, to collect some honey wouldn't be such a sin against his business, would it? Looking back at the recent loot drops, he noticed that he now has a few honey bits that he can use for the future, allowing him a bit of access to the shop once again if he wanted to get back into crafting. Demand for cooks will always be high, but the material gathering will be such a pain.
Sey 0 Posted January 6, 2018 Author #9 Share Posted January 6, 2018 Remembering how he lost, the queen would enter the side of the field he was in and break down every special piece he had. Of course, he would try to move the pieces to trap her, but she would just break down the walls in the process. Perhaps he could take a lesson from that and try to attack her first before she can break through his defenses. But should he just ignore her and focus on whoever else was with her? Considering how high her defenses could be, it might serve to be a difficult task. The goal was to take down the enemies first before getting to get, and her mitigation was likely far too high for his AoE attacks to even do too much damage to her anyways, so he was going to have to handle the minions to lessen the damage and allow himself to face off against her. If he had some tragic luck, he'll find himself in the yellow zone at the end of this fight.
Sey 0 Posted January 6, 2018 Author #10 Share Posted January 6, 2018 Keep an open mind and an open eye, and you'll find that the queen didn't need the slash of the spear to be summoned. Give her a bit of time and her wings will spread and launch right n front of you for murdering five of her children, and now she wants to claim your life at the cost of theirs. But Sey refused to let her have that satisfaction, full well prepared for battle as he stared at her eye to eye as three more bee minions followed her as well. Perhaps this is what check was like, but he was going to rip through all of them and reverse the tables to cause his own check on the queen. The bees buzzed loudly, the queen so much that it seemed more like a battle cry. Loud and annoying enough for Sey to want to rip through them, but he kept a calm posture as he prepared himself to engage in battle with them. Sweet skill points were on the way. Sey 0 Posted January 6, 2018 Author #11 Share Posted January 6, 2018 The classiest way to start off a fight was by paralyzing Sey with a sudden shot of sudden sent towards him. On top of that, his health bar was red with a nice little bleeding symbol, showing he was taking some heavy fire for right now. It was okay should the bees try to attack him, they'll find themselves biting the beautiful thorns of his equipment. But despite the hope of that, they refrained for now, perhaps under the control of the queen, which meant that this was truly a skill based fight. Due to this, Sey waited for the queen to act, since she was not going to win with bleed and paralysis alone while he had that beautiful battle healing skill active. The damage inflicted on him would not keep up with how fast he could recover it, but surely a monster would know its own system far better than that. They'll attack, they just need some time to do it. Then the paralysis will be lifted and they'll bite the Holy damage he has for them. Sey 0 Posted January 6, 2018 Author #12 Share Posted January 6, 2018 The queen just won't top throwing that damn sticky honey at him, but at least she decided to sting him through where the heart would be. The bees were just ditzily watching their queen hack away at the kind, refusing to declare an attack on him. Sey himself couldn't do a think thanks to how annoying the honey was when it came to trapping him. But there will be a point where the CPU will stop the queen from spamming that same move. When it does, Sey will be given a chance to strike back, and he'll make sure that holy damage is added in the impact. For now, he was going to stay stuck in this mess of a liquid that the queen placed to mark her target. Though painful, the impact of the strike was enough to set the queen on fire, the thorns and the fire sure to teach her a bit about what he was able to do. Though now he was grounded, meaning he was not able to fight back for a moment. Still, the queen suffering in flames was well worth it. Sey 0 Posted January 6, 2018 Author #13 Share Posted January 6, 2018 Of course, this WAS Aincrad. Perhaps spamming a move and over wasn't the most insane idea in the world. Remembering the many times he used Merciless Flurry and ignored literally anything else in his sword art skill list, perhaps it would be best to assume that the queen would continue to shoot honey in order to make him die a slow and painful death. But that required her to put some effort into her attacks and get some damage in. If at one point she stops bothering with those damn blots of honey, he would manage to get in a hit to put her down. That's it, he wants her dead before the bees so he didn't have to play this stupid game anymore. Thorns wasn't even triggering because she won't bother to hit him, which was just a damn shame for Sey. An unlucky day for him, perhaps going with a party was better. Sey 0 Posted January 6, 2018 Author #14 Share Posted January 6, 2018 Freedom, FREEDOM! No more honey attacks, Sey managed to break out of the honey blot and can move again. The queen did try again, but only after he broke free and managed to get back on his feet. So of course he made it a priority to avoid the blots of honey, moving as much as he could and even trying to deflect the attacks. It resulted in a cheeky form of blocking, but it's still a good way of avoiding. Now he gets one shot to try to put an end to this damn bee. Though risky, it was easier to fight while free than bound like that. Even better, the bees were still not attacking him, so they were missing their chances to attack him and put his health lower. The bleeding was still there, but it was the paralysis that was bugged. With his head finally held high, he prepared to land a massive strike on the annoying queen bee to finally shut down her stupid game and get rid of her slave children. Sey 0 Posted January 6, 2018 Author #15 Share Posted January 6, 2018 Nailed it! The queen and Sey managed to trade stinger to spear, resulting in both of them landing massive critical hits. It worked more in his favor, but they both managed to hit! Oh, and of course the honey trap had to be placed for him as well, because Sey definitely did not have enough of that in his life. But he landed the critical hit, meaning massive damage onto the queen. Plus, she triggered the flame thorn conditions in order to land her hit, meaning even more damage will be brought upon her. At this point, it may be a smart idea to focus on doing area damage while she hacks away at his thorns, meaning that this could end shortly if the queen just would stop using the damn honey trap. On the plus side, the thorns didn't care about paralysis or bleeding, they will hack the health bars of anyone who attacks him regardless of whatever they do. Sey 0 Posted January 6, 2018 Author #16 Share Posted January 6, 2018 The depressing part was that it was a mere tease. The queen being as angry as she was will stick to the one method that she knew, and that was to annoyingly spread honey stings and traps until he was left for dead. There was no way he was dying anytime soon at this rate, and losing this battle was impossible unless he had a really bad luck streak. It was the fact that it was pretty much mashing the same buttons until the luck shifted to one side that bothered him. As if any movement that he made to try to stop that unfortunate state was hopeless and that he needed to pray for some miracle that it would shift the odds. So he waited to take the sting from the bee before continuing to stand absolutely still. Without thorns, he did not know how he was going to get damage in at all. That being said, he placed his left palm by his side and waiting for the status effects to finally wear off. Sey 0 Posted January 6, 2018 Author #17 Share Posted January 6, 2018 More thorns were ripping into the queen, and this time the bees decided to take action with their own barrage. If it were not for the mitigation and the battle healing that he had on him, Sey would be as good as dead right now. Still though, the honey sting strings were getting old at this point, and Sey was hoping that the thorns would just end the queen so that he could rip into her servants and call it a day. Closing his eyes so he didn't see anything, he would notice his health bar being bitten into, nearing the yellow zone as he was about to get towards 50% at this rate. But knowing the queen was being exhausted was enough to reassure him that this was going to be all right and that he just needed to let the thorns in his equipment do the work. A peaceful thought, but he must break that peace by opening his eyes again, thus revealing the cold reality that was this boss fight. Sey 0 Posted January 6, 2018 Author #18 Share Posted January 6, 2018 This is the part where it all falls apart, the honey lapse was freed and he was able to escape once again! No more was he a prisoner to the nasty queen and he can fight once again. Of course, she focused all of her time in trying to inflict damage onto him, but the snow-haired player was having none of that. He ran as ran as he could in a circle to throw off aim, messing with the CPU a bit. Sey was stalking his prey, trying to find one blissful opening for him to rip through before then placing a spear through the core of the queen. A thorn finish would be deemed underwhelming at best and he believed that he could do better than that. With how his luck has been going though, he would be more than glad than to settle it with just that though, these pricks were just straight up annoying at this point. Even his smile has been shattered at this point, a rarity for him these days. Sey 0 Posted January 6, 2018 Author #19 Share Posted January 6, 2018 Freedom! The game threatened to miss the next attack, but he was so sure that he would nail the next hit that he would aim for concentration use as well, resulting in him being able to do a bit of damage as well. The queen was to make a last dying message for him, a final honey sting to force him still for a moment, but it was all worth it to him. Sey wanted the damage and now he has it, now the queen falls and the game is now checkmate. After getting over the trap she set for him, he'll handle the slaves she has left and the game is over. The quest perhaps was not worth all of the trouble if he had to be honest about it, but the task was finally done. Next time, perhaps a bit more research must be taken before placing his chances of survival on the thorns of his armor and a 25% chance. The queen is now nothing but a bunch of pixels to fly in the air, and the gateway to the end of the quest has finally opened. Sey 0 Posted January 6, 2018 Author #20 Share Posted January 6, 2018 Success! The bees were pissed off with him, which was to be expected. But he prepared for it, making sure they got a nice bite of thorns from his equipment so that they would be softened up enough to take the next AoE attack that he was about to dish out to them. With a smile on his face, he prepared to move his body again, making sure to go for one more strike to send all of these pesky enemies flying away. An icy cool gaze equipped to lock onto the three of them, leaving one empty slot for the locking on system. It wasn't like he really needed it, but it was nice to know he didn't have to have a huge target with stupid traps ready to punish him. Eventually the honey became nothing and he was ready to fight once again. Worst case scenario didn't happen yet, as he did not hit the yellow zone. Still though, Sey didn't know how much worse it could be than wasting so much time for handling such simple enemies.
