Gestahl 0 Posted May 4, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 4, 2014 "I'll give you support!" » Username: Gestahl » Real name: Junpei Kousaka » Age: 23 » Gender: Male » Height: 6 "1" » History: A people person by nature, Junpei Kousaka was always the first to see the nature of others. From his childhood, Junpei was destined to be a social butterfly, friendly and kind to all. But he was hampered by one simple fact, something anyone, young or old, friend or family could agree on. To other people, Junpei Kousaka was either a wimp, or a creep. His skin was pale, his limbs thin and noodly. His hair was long and ratty, and his demeanor was disturbingly friendly. He was picked on mercilessly, isolated at every opportunity and mocked whenever possible. His parents gave him little heed, occupied with his much more athletic and popular brothers. Said brothers, Sora and Kai, were the only true friends Junpei had in childhood, protecting him from ridicule whenever they could, and as the two brothers became more and more popular, Junpei was slowly left alone through the last year of middle school. This lull would only last for so long, however. The bullying would start again, instigated this time by Sora, the youngest of the three brothers, kicked off by the discovery that Junpei had barely touched the net since his childhood, terrified of any contact with others. The bullying ramped up quickly, from the exclusion Junpei was accustomed to, to lies spread about him, to physical violence. At first, Junpei was defended by those against such things, but as the lies spread and the beatings became more intense, his support slowly faded away, his older brother Kai the only true defense he had left. Through all of this, Junpei slowly distanced himself from everyone and everything, tired and miserable. The final nail in this coffin, however, would not come until the tail end of high school. It started routinely enough, Junpei walked behind his brother, talking about something or other as they left the campus to return to their house. They passed by a several groups, eventually passing by one filled with guys. The assumed leader of the boys, Sora, held out his hands for Junpei to stop. They tossed some verbal jabs in his direction. They threw out some threats, cracking knuckes and spitting at Junpei's foot. This standard was soon interrupted, however, as one boy, big and meaty, followed by several of his kind stormed up to Junpei from the fields. The leader stood there, fuming for a few seconds, before screaming like a madman. The reason these boys were there was unknown, but what was clear as crystal was their intent, as the leader lifted Junpei by his neck, attempting to choke him to death. What followed was chaotic, as the boys gathered immediately started yelling and taking sides. Kai and Sora managed to barely free Junpei from his would be killer, and a brutal fight started as a result. Junpei had little memory of the battle. He had sat on the floor, disoriented, catching his breath. As soon as he was done, he had sprinted towards his brothers, grabbing from behing a boy who had knocked Sora down. He held him there as long as he could, but Junpei was not an athletic teenager, and he was quickly shoved off with an elbow to his face, breaking his nose and knocking him out. His last site before fully losing consciousness was Kai once again saving his life from an assailant. When Junpei awoke, he was in an stretcher, his vision focused upon the horribly beaten Sora, unconscious, and Kai, laid out on a curb with the backside of his skull completely shattered. This event finally destroyed the last bit of self confidence Junpei had. Broken and tired, Junpei finally lost all hopein himself, and decided that he would completely withdraw from society as a whole, from everything and everyone. And he did, for five whole years, a social butterfly with clipped wings. Junpei's spiral of depression would finally be broken, however, by Sora, one of the main causes of it. Sora had reached out to Junpei, worried about what he might do if left alone any longer. Quietly worried about what Junpei might have become over the years. and attempted to heal the broken bond they had once had. Though the first month was awkward, Sora soon discovered that Junpei, in a delayed form of maturity, had through his isolation become fascinated with the web, games in particular. The two soon established a new relationship through the medium, with the somewhat disheartening discovery that Junpei was terrified of the limelight. Sora was the brave and dashing hero, and Junpei was his friendly and oft forgotten second. Junpei, with his new discovery of friendship, began to attempt reintegration into society, cleaning himself up physically, and attempting to act his age. Luck was never on Junpei's side, however, as he would soon discover the Sword Art Online, the new game for Nervegear from Sora. The two decided that they would meet up together in-game. If Sora logged in that day is still unknown to Junpei, but what is known is that he has been trapped in the game indefinitely A people person by nature, Junpei is happy to be able to establish new relationships with new people, but all the same, he would rather stay in other's shadows, the friend you remember in passing, who happily helped you so long ago. » Virtues: Intuitive: Gestahl was always the first to see the true nature of others. Reading the true intent of others is a much easier process for him than most, making him more difficult to deceive or persuade than most. Helpful: Gestahl holds the belief that even if he himself is weak, he can still help those in need with the strength of others. He will attempt to assist his teammates whenever possible, following up movements or attacks, taking utility skills to free up space for others, and sacrificing personal comfort or health to assist when needed. Friendly: From the first years of his life, Gestahl was always a social creature, and though he for many years teetered on the verge of straying from that path, he still remains as such. Always happy to support others, protect them in moments of strife, or even just strike up a nice conversation with them once in a while, Gestahl is friendly to a fault, disturbingly, some might say. Hopeful: Though he may not look it, Gestahl has had a somewhat rough life, and he more than most has come to understand that when you give up hope, you lose something fundamental in your very being. Having been on the brink, Gestahl will stalwartly refuse to give up hope, attempting to keep up the spirits of himself and others, even when things are desperate. » Flaws: Reference: http://www.darkworldrpg.com/lore/flaws.html Dependant: Having only recently started to come back into society as a whole in the shadow of another, Gestahl is still not confident in his ability on his own, having decided to give his all in support of others. This makes him a much easier target alone, as he will attempt either uncoordinated attacks, or attempt to follow-up a shadow only he can see, if he has not already attempted to escape the situation. Meek: Gestahl is friendly and helpful, that much is clear, but most other traits of his personality are hidden behind the shell of his wounded self-confidence.This can create issues with others, as some will rightfully see him as weak, or boring. Frail: As a young man, Gestahl was less than the physical ideal, with pale skin, wiry limbs, and ratty and unkempt hair, held together in a shell of weakness. He has since dramatically improved himself in most ways, but he is still physically weaker than most, having limited stamina and the potential to tire more easily than others, a trait that could very easily wear thin on more physically focused people. Overzealous: Gestahl is at his happiest helping others, through kind words or actions. However, at times he may go a little overboard on the friendly thing, appearing disturbingly happy, or creepy and unneeded, or sometimes even as mockingly kind. This can cause friction between parties, as Gestahl can sometimes be confused by the reactions of others to the strange signals he is sending.
