[F21-PP] The lost and found <<The Hidden Village>>

<<Howl>> Activated (10 Energy Used / 162 Remaining)

It was certainly an odd interaction between the two male players and the NPC, at least from what Calrex could tell. The woman didn't seem to have a problem with trying to high horse lay into him and Baldur, but after dealing with so many seemingly scripted interactions from their AI peers he to some level had toned it out. He could definitely feel the simulated sensation of the NPC poking at his armor, but that was about as far as it got.

"This may be scripted, but man her speech could make a less accustomed player to go Martial Arts on her. Even if she is from the surface, her personality is rather...subterranean."

Without any extra time to respond the bluenette watched as the screeching that seemed to overtake the woman's explosive speech, the origin of the sounds being four humanoid bats. The Grand Legionbane began to swirl and glow with light blue energy as Calrex readied <<Howl>>. He looked back and down at the woman before grasping her by the wrist of the same hand that was prodding at him, "Ma'am, I'd suggest to get behind us and stay behind us unless you want to fend for yourself."

With a calm push he sent her in the direction of Baldur, who had yet a chance to act, "Bal, no more time for NPC interaction, time to get that blade out!"

At Hestia's signal Calrex took a few steps forward before lifting his massive axe upwards, then slamming it into the earth in front of him. The energy shot out with a explosive roar, as if a behemoth creature had appeared in the room and unleashed a roar. The howl overtook the volume of the bats as their eyes locked onto the Ultramarine Knight.

Baldur waited for Calrex to engage, letting the tank take the lead was an old, old ingrained habit of his. Tanks usually got a first hit bonus, and you had to give them a chance to establish a threat lead, or something might happen and Baldur would find himself suddenly the target. That wasn't so much an issue here, but when you were reacting on pure instinct as one often does in battle, the old habits run the deepest.

As Calrex engaged the batmen with his howl, Baldur crouched down into his <<charge>> stance, ready to to follow their plan and single target attack the mobs. He could do a decent AoE, but until he got a slightly more accurate weapon, it wasn't working as well as he had hoped.

"Here I go!" Baldur called out to the team and released the charged <<San Ge>> as he suddenly moved faster than any person would be able to do normally, the system taking over his actions as it shot him across the room to engage as well. He had singled out the lead batman, and the energy and trailing light of the sword art crashed into the bat, Baldur's black and red blade activating as he scored a critical hit leaving not only the red mesh of it's 3d model exposed, but adding the bleed condition on top.

After Baldur was released from his sword art, he quickly leapt backwards to gain some space, but the batmen quickly closed in on Calrex. He was able to dodge and bat aside two of the blows, but they all came at once and the two from behind raked his back with their claws, using something akin to wolf-pack tactics. With that giant axe, Calrex was surprisingly agile for a tank, gaining the benefit of mitigation from his unique skill, and evasion from his damage builds. Baldur's kouhei was truly impressive in action.

I calmly just watch the battle take its start holding onto my sword as i watch the bats' movements and seeing that hey are rather fast and have the benefit of moving within the air if they so chose to do so. I nod my head as i know that i am only holding onto my sword for show then since that would mean i would have very little use of actually trying to attack such creatures. 'Looks like full support. Hopefully this can go rather smoothly for the fight. I would not want to have to go through a long drawn out fight.' I think to myself as i make my way over towards baldur as i press my hand against his back as i activate energize as a small yellow aura like glow goes over myself and him as i transfer over the energy to him. There you go back up to almost full you go. Thankfully i can make sure you have enough energy to spam your best attack enough times to kill them all. I say in a optimistic tone of voice with a smile on my face as i back away from the wannabe samurai then to give him the space he needs for his attack. 'or i at least hope he will have enough energy.' I think with a small frown and ever so slight worry of such a thing.

All Miss (2 Energy Lost / 1 Recovered / 161 Remaining)

As the humanoid bats continued to swarm around the group, their eyes focused on the bluenette, Calrex gave a calming sigh as he combined the weight of the axe head and his center of gravity to maneuver his way around their attack. However, because he had to focus on defense at the moment, he wasn't able to take advantage of any opening that happened to present themselves. Because of the creatures' nimble forms, it seemed that even with Roc's Accuracy the windows to strike were disappearing almost as fast as they appeared.

There was one point where he thought he could attack, quickly dropping the Grand Legionbane low as the axe head glowed with blue energy. However, right as it began to build the bat he had locked on to moved far enough out of the target zone that it broke the Sword Art lock, the energy dissipating in the form of fizzling sparks, "Tch, these things are going to be a bit more of a nuisance aren't they."

"Too bad I can't borrow Oikawa's Paralytic Thorns to lock these guys down. If my opening attack can actually work I can use Bullrush to keep them down, but if I miss any one of them that's one we can't follow up on."

"Calrex." Badur called out ot the tank as he tried to get a good angle on the bats. He swung his aze around in a powerful arc, but didn't manage to find any. Which was fine, cause in avoiding Calrex, one of them was pushed right in Baldur's way.

"I think I figured out the flaw in our plan."

He executed his <<San Ge>> sword art with practiced grace and the azure bands of light cleaved into the one Calrex and served up to him, Baldur's blade tore deep into the mob's health bar, but not as much as he had hoped.

"I think I'm going to need to take my damage bonus potion, or this fight might last too long."

The wanna-be samurai winced as the ultramarine kouhei was counter-attacked by the bats. There were a lot of them, and only one of him. The bat flew up behind him and grabbed onto it's helm, claws digging in as it scretched powerfully, and paralyzed their tank. Baldur was able to hit, but just barely. They needed to even this up a bit more. He was burning through this one bat at a reasonable rate, but there were still three others to go. If only he had had more thorns, this might go faster.

I look over towards the bat like enemies with a small sigh escaping my lips realizing that this will be a uphill battle with how things have turned around rather quickly. From the fact that the blue haired tank is taking a rather surprisingly amount of damage to his health, and then with the bats not taking as much damage as what would be very pleasant to have occuring. I quickly move on over towards the Samurai as i put my hand upon his back and activates energize covering the both of us within a yellow glow as his energy pool recovers once more as i look to him. If you need to increase your damage do so, but i hope it will be enough to knock these bats out quickly. They are surprisingly a lot faster then expected i guess. I say with a sigh of frustration wishing i had a mass lullaby to stop these enemies within their tracks as i back away from the DPS as i gaze towards the bats with my gaze drifting towards Calrex soon after. Hoping that the paralyzed warrior can mange to take another turn of being beaten around.  I return my gaze towards the bats with a serious look in my blue colored eyes as i try to keep track of the one that is injured and which ones aren't.

"Geezes, talk about a serious followup punish."

As he felt the Paralysis effect take over his avatar Calrex dropped to a knee as the Grand Legionbane's head slammed into the ground beside him, glancing at his health as the two strikes caused his health to drop by a decent amount. Luckily enough before he was stunned he was able to angle just body just right to avoid one incoming strike, seeing the claws coming close to grazing him. Right then his battle healing kicked in, but at the same time he took notice of the fact that his armor didn't appear to be holding up against the bats as well as normal. His mind immediately went back to fighting the Snow Beast from a lower level quest, where its passive effect was a partial phase that halved the amount of actual mitigation.

"Great, so we're basically fighting four roided up snow beasts essentially. Not good, because they'll have a free unavoidable barrage unless they're AI give them a temporarily terrible attack round."

At the same time, he noticed that the first bat had turned, its eyes now darting between the himself and Baldur. Immediately he began to think of a counter strategy, "Before you do that we need to do a quick damage control. If you both have Stunning attacks I'd suggest using them on bats 2 and 4 so we can minimize focus damage until I'm able to move again. Bat 1 already has eyes on you Bal, avoid attacking it until I'm able to get a chance to either attack or Howl."

"The only problem is if these things are able to score another critical blow that means I'm stunned for another moment, which means still no Evasion. Guess I forgot about that weak point of Achilles, it's great for minimizing high amounts of damage coming from a single target, but repeat attacks from mobs add up a lot more faster than that, potentially quadruple the amount."

Baldur watched as Calrex struggled against the paralysis effect, and asked that they help him by stunning a few of the bats in order to take the pressure off of him while he recovered. Quickly changing his action, Baldur switched his blade from where he was holding it, to the stance that began the <<Iai>> sword attack. It was a large drop in damage, but it would allow him to stun the bat, and give Calrex hopefully a breather. However, the bats swarmed his kouhei once more. Baldur targeted one of the bats he had called out, and Baldur launched forward with the attack, however their swarming movements interrupted him, knocking him aside and causing the sword art to swing wide. The wanna-be Samurai's charge caused him to push aside two of the bats and kept them from hitting the ultramarine knight, but his inability to his his target had meant that two of them were able to latch onto Cal's helm and paralyze him again.

Fury was beginning to boil behind Baldur's normally serene steel blue eyes. He wasn't sure what more he could do, and he had immediately realized how woe-fully unprepared they were for this quest.

You can't plan on luck. I need to do better next time.

"Hang in there Cal, I'll figure something out."

I look over towards the azure knight as i wince ever so slightly as he once more takes a rather bad beating from the groups of bats striking him down. I then watch as Baldur misses the bats as i just nod my head now knowing that this will be a very long and annoying fight to have to deal with, and my ability to even attack these creatures being non-existence from having no accuracy to speak of. With that in mind i glance over toards the energy bar of Baldur and sees that he is practically topped of anyhow comparatively so. I then look over towards Calrex and nods my head as i move over towards the tank and puts my hand against his back as i activate fist aid. I smile as i watch the health bar shoot up back to almost full as i nod my head. Their you go back up to full. Thank you for taking the hits. I say gratefully to the blue haired knight. Knowing that if it was me that i would have not been able to take as many hits as he has been able to do.

As Calrex felt the second rain of blows come crashing down he gritted his teeth beneath his expressionless helm, looking over to the top left of his vision to see that the previously fading Paralyze indicator has solidified. The status was inflicted once again and he was immobile for another brief period of time. However, at the same time he had been tracking his health, and it had dropped by a partially larger chunk than initially expected. That being said, it was yet to drop below half.

"The main problem is that none of these things have gone down yet. Going from their high agility it's going to make this a fairly long fight unless we get lucky enough to get them all pinned down. The first bat seems the most injured, but the others have barely even been scratched."

While devising what he could do once getting back up Calrex glanced back to see that their secondary tank/healer Hestia had approached and used her First Aid to restore even more health. To top it off, his Battle Healing had triggered once again, bringing him very close to full, "Much appreciated. Now let's see if we can turn this battle around."

Baldur tried to recover quickly from his miss, and whirled on his feet, targeting the weak bat once more. Cal had wanted him to stun them, but that had failed, and his stun attack was so much lower in damage than his other attacks, it would take twice as long for him to kill them. He needed to be better buffed for this fight than they were, but his haste in preparing was equaling danger and extra work on Cal and Hestia's part.

Do better.

Baldur could scold himself later, for now they needed to whittle this fight down further.

"Here I go!" Baldur called out through gritted teeth as he unleashed another <<San Ge>> upon the first of the cave bats. This time his attack found true and he chunked a small portion of the bat's health away. It was now teetering in the red. Another hit or two should finish it off. His charge attack was much stronger, and he had a damage potion he could use to bolster himself once this one was dead.

"I'll take down the first bat, and then use a damage pot to help with the others!"

Calrex was finally able to break free from the other bats as his paralysis finally wore off and he was able to get out of the way of them.

"Come on Cal, let's see some AoE!"

I look over the swarms of bats as they are managing to be the most annoying enemy in existence even compared to the likes of a floor boss seemingly as i activate my own sword art as i look over the four flying enemies as i glance towards Baldur and ndos my head having an idea in mind to try and speed this up if we can get lucky enough to even kill one of these things. 'Time to see if i can hit one of these things.'  I think to myself as i move forward activating my strongest word art just hoping that i can get lucky enough to get within striking range. I focus upon the already weakened enemy as i move my blade forward and cuts into the creature that Baldur had just struck with my own attack with a rather happy grin across my face as it cuts into the enemy as i repeat that ten more times moving through the motions of the sword art lowering its health by a decent amount. Oh yeah! Point for hestia! I say cheerfully in celebration considering i hit the enemy with an attack.

Sword Art <<Explode Catapult>> / <<Charge>> (14 (+2*2) / 1 Recovered / 145 Remaining)

For thefirst time in the battle since he first got the bats' attention Calrex was no longer para-locked as he got back to his feet. "Geezes, for a second I thought I was going to forget what moving felt like, heh."

Not wanting to waste any time the bluenette quickly locked onto the bats, letting his vision widen as he gave a calming breath, "Come on, let me get more than one..."

As his body seemingly locked into position the Grand Legionbane turned blue with the energy of his Sword Art, meaning that the assisted system had finally gained a lock on their opponents. Releasing the power the Ultramarine Knight felt his body rocket forward before making a quick 360 spin, bringing the axe around to the side, swinging with the full force of his body behind it. The first bat seemingly got lucky, floating over the passing blade, but the second bat was not so lucky, its abdomen being smashed into by the weapon and being pulled in front of the bluenette.

With a second swing from the opposite side the third bat was caught as well while the final bat shifted to the side, barely avoiding the hit. The two bats that had been stuck previous were now one in front of the other while Calrex leapt upwards and brought the massive axehead down on them, unleashing the last hit of te <<Explode Catapult>> Sword Art. Kicking the weapon back up onto his shoulder he gave a small sigh, "Finally got two pinned down."

Looking over at Baldur and Hestia he gave a nod, "These two are stunned. Hopefully we can get some good damage on them before it wears off."

Baldur watched for a moment as he followed the moves of the bats as they seemed to turn the tide of battle back into the players' favor for a moment. Cal's stunning AoE attack was a huge help in buying them a moment of reprieve. Even Hestia managed to get a hit in, but Baldur was still the main damage dealer for the party and he was failing them. Hestia was keeping them healed and topped off, but Baldur needed to work hard to reduce the damage these creates could do so that Cal could help them out with the AoE. Otherwise this was going to take a long time. He had planned to use a buffing potion, to raise his damage and help out, but that wouldn't be the case. Baldur saw one of the bats coming in towards Calrex, and he thought he saw the sparking of paralytic energy coming again, but instead Baldur readied his sword, placing it by his saya, and the blade glowed with a blue light as he then shot forward like a bullet, a streak of blue and orange across the cavern as Baldur's <<Iai>> strike landed on the Bat before it was able to hit Calrex, the stunning attack exploding forth as the momentum was transferred from Baldur's sword to the Bat's stomach, causing it to be stunned and drop to the ground.

"Come, we got this! Let's finish off this first bat!"

I look at the various bats and their HP balls and just stares with a rather annoyed look upon my face realizing the rather simple fact of what is going on as i see three full HP values, and than a singular bat that is almost dead which is rather...disheartening as i see the various creatures with that as i sigh softly and shakes my head to quickly get out of that mindset as i move over towards baldur and activates energize to keep his energy up since he has the less amount at the time as i gaze towards the bats and just nods my head slowly hoping that Calrex would be able to use the stun that has been afflicted for his opportunity to strike against them. though it seems that the two that Calrex had stunned are already moving once more along with Baldur's one as the creature's are flying once more. 'i should've prepped a evasion debuff for this or saved one of the raid ones i had made.' I think to myself annoyed more so at myself for this predicament more so than anything since the enemies are seemingly not that dangerous just tedious.

Sword Art <<Explode Catapult>> (14 (+2 * 3) / 1 Recovered / 126 Remaining)

Calrex's eyes immediately had shifted over to the bat that was coming at him after finishing his previous attack, cursing under his breath as he tried to move the Grand Legionbane fast enough to intercept. Unfortunately, his movement was slightly slowed for a moment from the momentum from his previous attack. However, right before the bat dealt its strike he saw his mentor leap in, cutting the creature and stunning it before it was able to deal the strike. With a small sigh of relief the bluenette quickly sent a leg forward, kicking the head of his weapon back into motion as it burned bright blue once again with Sword Art power.

"Alright once more..."

Shooting back at the cluster of humanoid bats he executed <<Explode Catapult>> once more. Unfortunately he didn't have the aided ability of his <<Charge>> skill, which seemed apparent after he narrowly missed the first enemy. But, it seemed that the first miss built enough momentum as he briefly accelerated into the second bat's abdomen. Riding the momentum of his first blow the massive axe came around the other direction and slammed into the third and fourth bat, routing the trio into a small group before he was carried upwards, coming down with the powerful finishing helm strike of his technique.

Red numbers flew by on all three, as well as a large crater in the ground to confirm that he had dealt a high critical blow. With a small pull he lifted his weapon back upwards so that it could rest slowly onto his shoulder.

Baldur tried to keep an eye on the bats and help deflect them from Calrex, but one of the bats was too quick and it got around behind him, the giant bat man creature slamming into the azure samurai hard enough to knock him over and just hard enough to keep the claws from digging into him and paralyzing him as well.

This was not going well.

"Hestia, do you think you can take one of the bats off of Calrex? We need his AoE damage, but he's getting paralyzed too much with that many attacks. If we can split two of them off of him, then  maybe we can get him up to add to our AoE."

This was not how this should have gone.

Their plan was solid. Tank. Healer. DPS. It should have gone easily, but the bats kept landing paralyze attacks, and Badur kept missing. They were not going to walk out of this fight easily if that pattern kept repeating. However, he and Hestia should be able to handle a single bat, and Calrex could easily land two. By splitting up the targets, it meant that there was a chance everyone in their group could get paralyzed, but if they could keep Cal-kun from being paralyzed every time, then they would clear this fight faster.

Don't be proud. Adapt.

I look over towards Baldur and nods my head willing ot take his lead into battle when it comes to a strategy mix up since the current way things are going are abysmal to say the best about the situation. They only have one near death and their AoE DPS keeps getting knocked down. Roger Dodger Baldur. Lets hope i grab two instead of one for the best results for our blue haired tank. I say calmly with a small smile as i turn my sword and gets into a stance activating my best AoE attack as i slowly move the blade through the air. A the light glinting off the steel of the blade as i focus upon the enemies and smiles as i rush forward towards the four creature aiming to create an opening in at least one's defense to strike a true honest hit against it. I go for the first arcing blade swings forcing the creatures apart. Quickly spinning myself i let my blade travel through the air horizantally while pointed straight forward dispersing them even more leaving only two close to one another and a bit closer towards the ground. Stopping my momentum i quickly move forward and swings once more making the two scatter a bit away from each other once more leaving the last one near the ground. Using the swing of my arms i quickly spin my body towards the singular target left as i cut right through it as a red data line goes through it and closes up in a instance the bat letting out a ear piercing screech right next to me.

As one of the bats yet again successfully managed to graze his armor, the Ultramarine Knight felt the familiar seizing sensation that was accompanied by the lightning bolt indicator for the Paralyze effect. The simulated weight of his avatar took its toll as it forced him down to one knee once again, Calrex giving a small sigh at the situation. He gave a small smirk as he looked over at Baldur while the man was explaining their change in strategy, "Yeah, these things are being quite a handful, especially with their lucky strikes these past few minutes. It really does feel like I'm dueling Oikawa all over again."

Unable to move, there wasn't much he was going to be able to do in the situation other than wait for his status infliction to wear off once again. Luckily enough, only one was able to hit this time around, and there was enough of a buffer for him to have his passive Battle Healing bring him back up closer to full. "I've still got a good amount of energy reserves for AoE Sword Arts. The only thing we'll need to be aware of is when the Hate is equally spread out  to keep the bats from overlapping on targets other than Hestia and myself. Having multiple targets locked onto a DPS-oriented player is much more of a problem than having the bats targeting tank players."

"One bat should be enough, Hestia. A focus howl should do it!"

Baldur held his sword out, ready to unleash <<San Ge>> on the giant bat-man hybrid creature, and the blade began to charge up with a blue light until Baldur snapped his hand forward, releasing the system that was tugging at his limbs, flying through the motions of the sword arts faster than any normal human could move, leaving only arcs of azure light trailing behind where Baldur's blade had been, his orange and blue form darting around the bat to littler it's digital form with blows. The health bar of the creature was slowly draining until it finally stopped in the red.

Rather than being happy, Baldur was annoyed. It wasn't quite dead yet, and could therefore threaten to stun him again.

Tsk. Not quite there yet. If only I had even better accuracy, it would be worth while to AoE a bit more.

Fow now though, they had to rely on Cal's AoE and hopefully pull the hate elsewhere so that he could clean them up.

(Miss Cal's thorns from before, so I corrected)
