In real life, Lance is a succesful engineer that has been in the business a few years after flawlessly completing college. Lance always tries to find a logical, effective way of solving a problem at any cost and this is reflected in his online persona (Inner calm/Ruthless). The love for his work and lifestyle have left him with somewhat of a social inability (Lonely/Arrogant), leading him to avoid initiating contact and extensive boasting about his intelligence. The varying nature and challenges of his work allow him to quickly solve problems in different environments, improving his survival odds in the game (Adaptability). Lance's real life hobbies involve crafting and writing, and as sports he has been doing martial arts for about 10 years (Combat experience). Lance is single and lives alone in a spacious apartment, in which he often spends time playing video games.

» Virtues:

Inner calm: Due to his real life background in problem solving, Lance is able to stay rational and quickly decide on a safe or quick way to either victory or flight, even in dangerous situations. When confronted with a dangerous foe, Lance is able to spot weak spots and find a way to strike them. When in danger he will quickly find the safest way out.

Adaptability: Lance is able to quickly learn and apply the rules of his environment, enabling him to act effectively in unexpected situations. If an enemy shows a new attack pattern, Lance can quickly adapt and counter or block incoming strikes. When the world suddenly flips upside down, Lance would find a way to surf the clouds.

Combat experience: Lance has real life experience with martial arts, allowing him to quickly grasp the movement controls offered by the nerve gear. In addition, Lance is good at dodging and blocking attacks, be it bare-handed or armed. This allows him to last longer in battle and lowers the risk of death.

» Flaws:

Arrogant: Lance is smart and is not afraid to show it. As soon as he is ahead of the rest in some way, that's going to be what comes out of his mouth. He laughs at people who understand things at a slower pace and often takes advantage of it. Although this behaviour boosts his confidence, it makes him unlikable and sometimes it messes with his rationality, leading to him to trying to bite off more than he can chew.

Ruthless: Lance will not hesitate to sacrifice others or things for a greater good or to save himself. Usng an ally as bait to escaoe a strong monster or letting others do hard work for him is totally okay for him. He will not mindlessly steal or kill, but is certainly capable if he feels the ends justify the means. After all, killing a person who interferes with his plans had it coming.. right?

Lonely: Lance can not enjoy the company of others as much as a regular person would. Although sometimes longing for contact, he will not easily take the initiative to make any. This often leaves Lance without a party or friends ingame, limiting his possibilities and throwing away the option to have someone watch his back. On the other hand, Lance would faster expect a stab in the back than help in any case.
