Woe 0 Posted June 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 18, 2018 (edited) ProfileUsername: WoeReal name: Kin-AkemiAge: 21Gender: MaleHeight: 6"1History: Akemi grew up in a normal home with normal parents in a normal city in Japan. He went to a prestigious school which bored him to tears during his younger years. He went through elementary school being a jester and a charismatic class clown, making many friends along the way. One friend, in particular, was very dear to him, she was a transfer student from America named Jessica. He helped her with her Japanese and spent a lot of time at home talking to her over the phone. Despite getting along very well and being close, however, she was, however, suffering many difficulties in her home environment and due to those difficulties she ended up taking her own life. This event shook Akemi to the core and caused him great grief. In order to deal with the grief, he began studying philosophy in his spare time and began to take life more seriously. His junior high, and high school years were spent with great dedication to his education and graduated at the top of his class. After graduating he wasn't exactly sure what to do with his life, one of his relatives was an avid gamer and a game developer for many successful gaming companies in Japan and as a present for his 21st birthday he bought Akemi SAO-RPG as a reward for his hard work at school and as a way for him to get his mind off of his troubles. And so his journey began.Personality: What wasn't normal about Akemi's household growing up, however, was Akemi himself. Akemi was always getting himself into trouble by playing tricks on his friends and family, hoping to get a good laugh out of it. He was often scolded and put back in his place promptly, only to be back at his scheming attempts a few moments later. He began to mature a lot quicker as he grew older following the aforementioned death of his best friend, Akemi stopped playing his typical pranks and began to take life more seriously. He turned to literature and philosophy to answer his questions as to why exactly it was that he felt so alone and empty when his best friend left him. The books he read became the solace that broadened his knowledge and developed the personality that he expresses currently. A thoughtful personality with high emotional intelligence. Though as someone who thinks deeply about many things he has become as stumped as other philosophers as to the meaning of life and why live it if it's just a taxing experience? Is the purpose of living simply just to experience life? He is sociable and is well spoken and takes life's problems with a critical and calculated mindset. He rarely takes risks, preferring to go in for what is certain to be beneficial but is not above going out of his way to help a good friend in need. Virtues: » Confident: Kin-Akemi is a very confident in himself and his abilities as a person, possessing many life skills at a young age and being mentally equipped with the great discussions of many philosophers, and having the school ranking to go with it. Due to the accumulation of knowledge and his critical thinking skills he often doesn't take risks and goes for what he knows to be a sure thing. Due to many results of his decisions coming back with positive results, he has built and reinforced this confidence in himself. Not only is his confidence built on compiled evidence and education, but also just simply with a natural comfort in his own personality and body. This virtue reflects positively on himself."Confidence isn't walking into a room with your nose in the air, thinking that you're better than everyone else there. It's walking into a room and not having to compare yourself to anyone in the first place." »Considerate: While he is confident, Kin-Akemi is not arrogant and generally takes into account the feelings of others and how others would respond and react to the things that he says and does. Even though he knows he is only responsible for his own happiness and not the happiness of others, he can't help but feel guilt and regret for not being able to do enough for his friend Jessica. With a maturity to know that everyone has their own struggles and battles that they fight alone with themselves, he chooses to be more considerate towards others so that he can perhaps ease their pain or not make life any more difficult than it has to be for them. This virtue reflects positively on those around him. "If you repeatedly criticize someone for liking something you don't, they won't stop liking it. They'll stop liking you." »Reflective: Kin-Akemi is always learning from his past, whether it be good or bad experiences. He understands that success is determined by those who learn and continue to move forward and failure by those who simply sit still with no plan and choose to give up. But it is more than just learning from unfortunate situations, the reflection is an internal dialogue that communicates deeply within himself, whenever something happens he communicates that experience within himself and takes from it what lesson he can, measuring it to his own systematic beliefs and views before implementing anything newly learnt into his own lifestyle. This virtue has a positive impact on himself."I am strong because I've been weak. I am fearless because I've been afraid. I am wise because I've been foolish." Flaws:»Confrontational: Due to his confident nature, he isn't afraid to confront people when he believes they are doing something wrong or something that he does not agree with. When something bothers him he finds it hard to let go of that feeling and so he chooses to deal with it straight away rather than letting it fester inside him. He doesn't like being fake with how he communicates with people and prefers open and honest dialogue, and so this open and honest dialogue can come off as confrontational which can cause tension between himself and others he is trying to communicate to. This flaw negatively impacts how others view him."Don't confuse my personality with my attitude. My personality is who I am, my attitude depends on who you are." »Short Sighted: Often times he can be short-sighted, meaning that he does not look ahead to the future simply because he cannot. He is not someone with great vision or imagination and prefers taking things one step at a time, assessing them and putting them next to his value system and dealing with them then and there. Because he often takes things one step at a time he cannot really see what is to come ahead of time, even though he is a critical thinker and considerate, he can only think critically and be considerate about things that are within his own boundaries of what he knows. Which is often times a lot and more than enough to deal with certain situations, but when it comes to dealing with people he has never met or is not very well acquainted with he can find it difficult to understand them and their personality. As a result of this short-sightedness, he sometimes doesn't notice or recognise the full value of something or the potential of it until later on. This flaw has a negative impact on himself. "Sometimes you never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory. I often don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way." »Conservative: As someone who has spent a lot of time compiling information and building his own value system, he is often very stubborn and narrow about accepting new information, especially if it is from a peer. He prefers to stick to what he knows as tried and true and conserves his own beliefs and philosophies, not particularly eager on changing them. Though he is open to learning new things and debating them, what he actually takes away from those learning experiences and implements is usually rather limited. This mainly stems from the fact that he views as the information he is trying to conserve as true and more reliable and trusted than the information that others have to offer. Due to this conservative nature, others can come to see him as someone not willing or open to change and reflects negatively on his image. "Sometimes people try to expose what's wrong with you because they can't handle what's right about you."
