About: History/personality
During Ricky's adolescent years, he grew up in the dense metropolitan city of Houston, Texas in 1992. He was the only child of a low income warehouse worker and a retail store clerk which afforded him a meager lot in life as he grew up in the rough neighborhood of Greenspoint. This habitat was known for gang violence, narcotics, high crime rates. It was an urban district often known as "Gunspoint". It was known for being one of Houston's worst hoods. The business district had a lot of low income housing units along the main insterstate. The district remained a hotbed for criminal activity. Though his parents were often broke, busted and disgusted, they put a lot of effort into spoiling their only son, even if they had to go without.

His mother spent a lot of time trying to get him to focus on education in efforts for him to become more than just a street rat. Fortunately, the young boy was gifted when it came to hitting the books. He often found many of the classes rather boring, often getting criticized for not doing homework. However, he would  shut up the teachers come test day when he would be able to ace various tests and exceed the test scores of the well studied students, sometimes without studying due to his keen sense of memory. Having this talent made him a great slacker and lover of video games. When he wasn't playing games at his friends house, he was often playing basketball as a Point Guard for the school and with his friends. He also had a love of street fighting and boxing. Partying and drinking were loved hobbies and he enjoyed music that mainly flexed his culture like hip-hop and R&B, though he was open to all kinds of music.  He often would chill with friends and vibe to music, watch anime, and splurge on the best food.

His hedonistic broke out more in his teens when he indulged in street gambling, flirting with girls, spending money on the latest fashion and competing heavily with his schools basketball team. He would casually smoke weed and sell drugs to make some fast cash and get caught up in a series of petty thefts, but at the age of sixteen, he would re-direct his life towards another goal once he met some positive male role models and then join his high schools Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Program and learn light skills in marksmanship, orienteering, and military regulated high school program. This molded the hot-head street prodigy into a more disciplined individual, though he still maintained some of his natural street flavor. When it came time for him to choose his job in the military, he held inspiration from many RPGs that he would play in life. His childhood dream was to be a hero. By his understanding, the hero was solely and completely dedicated to training as a warrior. He didn't push pencils. He didn't sit in some nice air conditioned office. He was the man risking it all on the front-lines. He wanted to know what a hero's life was like so he chose to walk the life of an Infantryman in the United States toughest military branch, the United States Marine Corps.

After thirteen weeks of being ran through the ringer by drill instructors from hell, he knew the definition of pain. It was very much a molding process where we knew that over time it was a process of surrender. Each and every turn there would be a preference or habit given up. Multiple adjustments had to be made. Nothing mattered so little as a man's likes or dislikes. The slacker began to learn organizational structure, how to operate as a cohesive unit among his fire-team, and how to lead others through times of mortal conflict. He excelled in the school of Infantry and eventually became an infantry assault-man which colored the rest of his life as he realized all the grunts that were good at math got to build all the bombs and shoot all the rocket launchers. This was exciting as hell to him as he began training on how to blow all kinds of [censored] up. After training, he got shipped to the middle of the Mojave Desert in Twenty-nine Palms, California with 3rd Battalion 7th Marines India Co. as part of their Weapons Platoon.

During his deployment to Afghanistan, he would learn that his dream of being a hero was riddled with pain, controversy, and loss of great people he would come to call his brothers. He was exposed to shitty conditions and often had to use dark humor to get through it all. Despite that, resilience and perseverance was in the man's blood...until during a deployment he ended up injuring his back and got medically discharged, becoming a disabled veteran with PTSD while many of the Marines he served with went on to their second deployment.

It was during this time that he used his GI Bill to focus on school while drinking, playing DND online, and moving about in his wheelchair and occasionally enduring physical therapy. He became reclusive and felt like those chapters of life slowly got left behind. The aspect of the civilian life was hard to adjust to, though well welcomed. He would become withdrawn from society until he lucked out and received a gift that had been on his wish-list for a long time. It was one of the 10,000 copies of SAO. He had been so hyped to get his hands on it, and once he did he immediately started playing and finding himself back on a battlefield.

Virtues:

  • Curious – When it comes to new ideas, Black  isn't interested in brooding – he wants to go out and experience things, and don’t hesitate to step out of his comfort zones to do so. He is imaginative and open-minded, seeing all things as part of a big, mysterious puzzle called life.
  • Observant – Black believes that there are no irrelevant actions, that every shift in sentiment, every move and every idea is part of something bigger. To satisfy their curiosity, Black tries to notice all of these things, and to never miss a moment.
  • Energetic and Enthusiastic – As Black observes, forming new connections and ideas, he won’t hold his tongue – he gets excited about his findings, and share them with anyone who’ll listen. This infectious enthusiasm has the dual benefit of giving him a chance to make more social connections, and of giving them a new source of information and experience, as they fit his new friends’ opinions into their existing ideas.
  • Excellent Communicator – It’s a good thing that Black has such strong people skills, or they’d never express these ideas. Campaigners enjoy both small talk and deep, meaningful conversations, which are just two sides of the same coin for them, and are adept at steering conversations towards his desired subjects in ways that feel completely natural and unforced.
  • Know How to Relax – It’s not all “nature of the cosmos” discussions with Black – people with this personality type know that sometimes, nothing is as important as simply having fun and experiencing life’s joys. That Intuitive trait lets him know that it’s time to shake things up, and these wild bursts of enthusiastic energy can surprise even his closest friends.
  • Very Popular and Friendly – All this adaptability and spontaneity comes together to form a person who is approachable, interesting and exciting, with a cooperative and altruistic spirit and friendly, empathetic disposition. Black gets along with pretty much everyone, and their circles of friends stretch far and wide.

Flaws:

  • Poor Practical Skills – When it comes to conceiving ideas and starting projects, especially involving other people, Black has exceptional talent. Unfortunately their skill with upkeep, administration, and follow-through on those projects struggles. Without more hands-on people to help push day-to-day things along, his ideas are likely to remain just that – ideas.
  • Find it Difficult to Focus – Black  is a natural explorer of interpersonal connections and philosophy, but this backfires when what needs to be done is that after action report sitting right in front of them. It’s hard for Black to maintain interest as tasks drift towards routine, administrative matters, and away from broader concepts.
  • Overthink Things – Black doesn't really take things at face value – he looks for underlying motives in even the simplest things. It’s not uncommon for him to lose a bit of sleep asking themselves why someone did what they did, what it might mean, and what to do about it.
  • Highly Emotional – While emotional expression is healthy and natural, with Black even viewing it as a core part of their identity, it can come out strongly enough to cause problems for his personality type. Particularly when under stress, criticism or conflict, he can experience emotional bursts that are counter-productive at best.
  • Independent to a Fault – Black loathes being micromanaged and restrained by heavy-handed rules – he wants to be seen as a highly independent master of his own fate, even a possessors of an altruistic wisdom that goes beyond what most can fathom. The challenge for Black is that he lives in a world of checks and balances, a pill he is not happy to swallow.
