[PP-F1] <<The first few lessons are free>> Did someone say free?

Recommended Posts

Beelii was sad that her advances were gaining no traction whatsoever, so decided to back up for the time being. SIlently pouting as she plucked another fruit from a branch. Glancing towards her sister, she could tell that she was asking for their to be more silence for all of them. THere was no point giving information and she knew it. It didn't stop her from wanting to try to actually break through the boy's thick skull. She had no intention on following through with much of anything, but it was too much fun to watch men get all flustered from their actions. The oblivious and the knights were always the worst. The people who just gave no reaction. She knew that the knights were at least trying to stifle their urges, but the clueless gave her no joy whatsoever. Best to leave them be, but who else did she have to mess with right now?

The girls were steaming ahead of August, it seemed as though they were having better luck than him. However despite his hopes, the girls didn't seem to be interacting with him as much. Maybe he would need to be the one that needed to stimulate conversation, like him, the pair seemed to be pretty introverted, or perhaps they just liked to keep to themselves. Either way it wasn't much of August's concern. He continued his search, this time he decided to look back in the trees, since there was no pattern to what he was receiving so the best thing to do would just be to search the easiest place, which would be the trees. He climbed up one of the smaller looking trees up into the canopy, where there was a small glowing orb that he could pick up. Once he did, a notification popped up on his HUD, <<Materials Collected 2/5>>. A smile came across his face, "Finally, maybe not too long then." August jumped back down from the tree to where the girls were. Noticing that Ulaan had collected another material, he blurted out "Wow, looks like you're almost done then. Great!" He let out a small laugh as he opened his inventory and placed the material in his inventory. "Should we try to look somewhere else or would you guys prefer to stay here?" There were other places on the first floor that could potentially have more abundant amounts of resources, however there was also the threat of low level mobs. "There is the threat of mobs however, so if we want to stay here where its safe, that's totally fine."

Osgii made her way through the forest, still trying to avoid crouching into the dirt for the materials she needed. Thankfully, the fruits on the trees were pretty dense and she was able to find herself some more materials. Seeing that she was already half-way through the quest, she stood herself up straight again. Though the silence was nice to have, it seemed Crowns was intent on breaking it. As the compliment was directing towards her twin, she figured it would be best to let her handle it. They probably wanted to have fun with their continued teasing anyways. It was a little sad how far Beelii's standards had dropped, but it was better to tease someone rather than nothing. She had never understood her sister's habits anyways, she always wanted to make others uncomfortable. Osgii just wanted to make people sit there dumbfounded when they were unable to respond to her.

Though Beelii was glad to have gotten the compliment from Crowns, she was still sad that she could have her fun. Even if it was lower standards than she usually went for, in fact it was much lower, she still wanted to have some fun while in this game. The NPCs were too easy to play and she wanted to finally mess with an actual player. All the ones she had met so far in the Town of Beginnings were completely dejected or were too focused on leveling up for her to mess with. This person seemed to fit more into the latter category, though they were also not that aware of her to begin with. She did her best to remain kind, though she certainly wasn't approaching him again. "Thanks. We can stay here for now as there is enough to go around." Her words turned a little terse, though she did her best not to lose her kind facade.

"Hm, alright" August responded, she wasn't wrong, but he felt like a change of scenery was needed. Despite the danger, the group weren't really going to get anywhere in the game if they didn't go and fight mobs. The frontlines group, from what August had been told, had made it only nearly a quarter of the way through the game. There was no shortage of time that could be spent catching up to some of the players who had already steamed ahead, but some progress needed to be made, otherwise they would be left behind. The terse response that he was given for his idea was enough to shut him up for the moment, despite being an airhead he was still able to tell when someone wanted him to shut up. Keeping to himself, he searched the ground around him for anything that seemed out of place, however there was nothing to be found whatsoever. The entire process and now this quest was getting a little bit disheartening, but at least he was outside doing something. All the months spend cowering inside the Town of Beginnings had left him feeling quite pathetic, so any chance to leave and actually contribute to his progression was a good experience and an opportunity to get closer to leaving. Not that there was very much waiting for him back home.

Osgii was content to remain in silence, and continued her best to find anything that would work for materials. Though she felt like she might be able to take on a few attackers, she was unsure if she could deal with it for a prolonged period of time. Besides, she didn't want to get herself into trouble. Sure she would be facing her father's wrath, but that didn't mean she should kill herself to avoid it. It would be much more productive if she could make sure this game remained as long as possible. Though it would be terrible if her father figured out she stalled in getting out of the game, what he didn't know couldn't hurt him. So she decided it would be best if she could just work her way forward for now and figure out a plan once there. It would be some time before the game was cleared anyways, so that meant time to come up with a plan.

Beelii was still sad she couldn't really flirt with anyone in this game yet. She guessed that most of the others who she could actually flirt with would be the people leveling up just to show off to girls like her. If they did end up escaping this game, she would need to have her persuasion skills ready and sharp to try and bite down some of the wrath of her father. her sister was probably trying to figure out ways to make sure they never needed to face their father anyways. It was already going to be too late. Though they would likely still be in Japan when they escaped, their father would have a close eye on them. Besides, who knew where they were going to be getting kept. Probably some high end hospital that was close enough to not time out their connection. She was honestly surprised he hadn't let the both of them die or rot away.

The girls were steaming ahead of August, it seemed as though they were having better luck than him. Despite his hopes, the girls didn't seem to be interacting with him as much, which put a damper on the mood but perhaps they just weren't as talkative. Ulaan had already collected all 5 materials that they needed whereas he was still stuck with 2, the same could be said for Kian who was only one away from completing the quest. He would have to try harder if he wanted to catch up with them and not be left behind. Despite this however, there were no materials to be found. He was usually fairly calm in these situations, being outside on a nice day would usually be a blessing for him, however after many failed attempts at finding materials it was getting quickly frustrating. In frustration he yelled out "Ugh what the hell! Does this game just hate me!" Very unlike him, however he was trying his best and still failing, and it felt as thought the game was intentionally screwing him over as some sick joke. August got up from where he was searching and just pressed his head against a tree, moping around in frustration.

It seemed as though Crowns was having some difficulty with finding materials, andwas venting this frustration to the two of them. It was understandable to be frustrated, but it was still hard to watch someone deal with this. Of course, she couldn't relate that much. Most of the time anything she and her sister rececived was given to them without them needing to work hard. It did come at the cost of their freedom to be themselves, but it meant that they didn't need to do much besides look pretty and be their father's status symbols. She could feel her sister tingling for the opportunity to speak again, so Osgii decided to grant that chance. "It doesn't matter what happens now, the game will always end up fair." Her sister finished the pharse she was working on and eventuallly it came back to herself. "-- That is what will decide the outlook you see upon your situation."

The boy they were with was growing more and more frustrated as the two of them worked their way forward. It was sad to find someone be so dejected about something that was out of their contol. Sure the two of them were able to find the materials they needed quickly, but that didn't mean that they wouldn't eventually be down on their luck one day. It was the issue the two of them always faced. Sure, everything had been gifted to them. However, they would eventually have a stroke of bad luck. Some event out of their control that would cause a bout of anger from their father. Such was the case now. They were lucky to have foudn an escape from their father. But now, it would turn into something that would get them yelled at by their father. Her sister began to speak, and she interjected in the middle of her phrase, "-- Look at the bigger picture, or focus on what's in front of you now. --" It was something the two of them enjoyed doing at times. They knew what the other wanted to say through some strange sort of connection so they would often say part of the phrase. The stereo effect often confused people, but it helped them sound like they weree more than just the figurines their father made them out to be.

After he had calmed down, the girls responded to his frustration, realising that they had seen his outburst, he turned a bright shade of red. Another thing that caught his attention was the strange way that the two talked, they seemed to be the same person, finishing each others sentences. It slightly creeped him out but he didn't say anything about it, everyone was different in their own way and had their own quirks. He sighed, letting all the frustration leave his body along with his breath. It was a technique he had taught himself long ago to let all of his frustration and anger go. If nothing else, it was the one thing he had learnt from his mother, who taught him that being frustrated and angry, while it felt good, resolved nothing in the end. "Yeah I suppose. Sorry, been a long week I guess." He let out a strange little laugh and rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment.

He continued on looking through the shrubbery below him, hoping desperately to find something, however, luck was still not in his favour. Nothing was in the shrub except for disappointment. A light breezed blew past him, which caused him to look out through a clearing to the sprawling landscape of the first floor. The environment around him and the good weather changed his mood from bad to a pleasant one. It was a nice day and he was out somewhere he would never normally go.

Osgii decided to let the silence hang in the air some more, though gave a little signal to Beelii to keep it as well. Perhaps letting the boy stew would help him collect himself more. He was rather behind in finding the materials that they needed, so she felt as though her and her sister could find a few more for them all to split. It would be pertinent that they try to make some friends, even if they weren't in high places. If they wanted any chance of making it out of this game and avoiding their father they would need to find someone who could give them safety while once out of the game. This person would probably not be the one, but perhaps this connection could lead them to a better relation later. They were going to have to start eventually, as they couldn't tell who would be the better players from the get go.

It seemed Osgii was wanting to leave things silent, and Beelii got confirmation of it soon after as she was passed one of her sister's many silent signals. it was one of those that she was quite familiar with. Though she never liked the tactic of silence, it did work a lot more than she ever thought it could. She mentally shrugged at the thought. There was a reason Osgii was the smart one after all. For now, she continued to look around to see if there was anything else for her to gather. For now, it seemed as though there was little to be gathered. If there was some more, she hoped that Crowns would be able to find it instead. That meant the two of them could get out of here a little bit quicker. It would be ideal if they could move along and not linger on one pointless relationship.
