[F20] NO REFUNDS!!! - Performer Shop

Recommended Posts

Mutsu stood back and admired her handiwork on the sign of her new shop. NO REFUNDS!!! That stated the shop's policy in that regard in rather eloquent and simple terms. The crude drawing, since she had never been good at art, next to the sign of a stick figure dancing and playing the cowbell made it apparent to everyone that this was a performer's shop. And, since the shop was on the very, very, very edge of the wall for the Town of Inti, practically hanging out over empty sky when you really thought about it, Mutsu knew that everyone would know that she had class and appreciated the finer things in life. Like an incredible view out over the twentieth floor from a shop that was just barely staying within the safe zone of the town but from which she could still send wares to orange players through a basket, rope, and pulley system.

"Well, the outside's done. I wonder what the inside of this shop looks like," Mutsu muttered to herself, jingling with every step as she wandered around the outside of the shop, still considering her handiwork on the sign. As far as she was concerned it was a one of a kind work of art. Putting her right hand on the silver door handle that was inlaid into a door made of luxurious ebony wood, Mutsu pushed open the door and walked inside to find.

Nothing.

There was nothing inside the shop. Only a shop counter and empty shelves.

Nothing for recording. Nothing for turning items into recording crystals. Nothing for anything. There was nothing.

What kind of a deal was this?

Mutsu raged about inside her shop. She would have overturned items, flipped tables, and otherwise wreaked havoc in her own shop. But, that was a literal impossibility since there was nothing in the shop. The empty shelves and the counter were all bolted to the ground. "I've been cheated," she fumed, shouting at no one in particular because, and this was important, there was no one at whom she could rage at the moment. "What kind deal is this? Selling someone a shop location when there is nothing in the shop? Where are all the goodies I need to make things?!?"

"This is such a ripoff," Mutsu muttered, finally calming down a bit. Scowling and still muttering to herself, she swiped a finger in the air and called up her list of crafting commands. A second later, a recording crystal materialized in her hands. "So, how does this thing even work," she asked, scratching the side of her head with her free hand in an idle sort of way. "Do I just like, sing into the thing, or what?" She narrowed her brown eyes at the crafting material and considered what other options there could be. There was a craft button, but there was nothing to craft with. "They didn't cover this in the tutorial."

Swiping her finger in the air, Mutsu pulled up her player menu. A few quick taps and she had materialized a crafting material in her hands. It was a hunk of raw ore. Exactly what she was supposed to do with it now was anyone's guess. Including her own. "I didn't see this crap on the recruiting poster," she muttered to herself. The fact that she hadn't seen anything on a non-existent recruiting poster in the first place was beside the point. Sighing, she tapped at the hunk of ore and pulled up the item menu. Surprisingly, there was a new option listed for the item now. There was a "craft" button. Well, that seemed a little too simple. Feeling unsure about the dubious quality of the button, Mutsu pushed it.

So, it was as simple as that. Just pull up the menu and push the craft button? Well, that was easy. A little too easy when it came right down to it. Oh well. If that was all it took though then why did other people have such fancy shops while her shop was so barren and empty in comparison. That hardly seemed fair. "I want a fancy pretty shop too," the brunette said in a sulky and pouty sort of tone, crossing her arms over her chest. She scowled, then slowly uncrossed her arms and pushed the 'Craft' button twice more.
