She nodded before smiling slightly, acting calm. But she had to be cautious in case. She kept her dagger in her pocket at all times, where it was conveniently. But despite being cautious, she was able to seem cheerful and dense from the outside.

Before you get thinking....No im not going to kill you...youve done nothing to deserve that i said still staring out the window at the moon. Nothing much mattered...i had no idea who was alive and who wasnt alive anymore. I guess all that mattered was that i had to protect the ones who decided to stay close to me. Which isnt many anymore, but im glad there were a few.

She sighed in relief before loosening up a little. "That's nice to know.. and time sure does go by quickly in Aincrad that's for sure," she'd gasp as she looked out the window, contently watching from above, as players moved about the streets frantically. It was like.. these crowds would never die down.

I watched the small people walk on by...i didnt care for them, and they didnt know me...i no longer cared. I watched the moon and hoped that soon, we'd be free. I only wanted to see my mom...my dad...and my sister...once more

She hummed as she looked at the floor, feeling somewhat bored from the awkward period of long silence. She would stare at him from the side, trying to see if he was even "on earth" or spacing out. "Oi..?" she would quietly say.

i looked at her.

Im sorry...did you need something young lady? i asked snapping back to reality

She quickly shaked her head and replied. "Oh nothing really! You were kind of spacing out.. so I was wondering if you're okay," she said before shrugging. Yue would then crawl onto Haine's bed and lazily rest on the pillow, keeping an eye and both ears open protectively.

I looked away from her

i guess im okay....i could never answer that properly kid... i said in a very distressed tone hoping all of the pain would go away

She nodded slowly. "Oh.." she would say in a soft tone, before deciding to leave him alone. She walked up to her bed and plopped down on it, pulling the sleeping wolf into her lap. Then she would silently stroke Yue's fur in a soothing manner. "He is kind of.. different," she thought to herself.

i was afraid...of telling her anything..if she knew..id never be the same. No one knows what happened that fateful day and no one ever will. I felt wet streams of sorrow flow down my face. I didnt look at her but i knew what she was thinking...it wasnt hard to tell.

She noticed tears streaming down his cheeks, and she would wonder what he was so sad about. She hesitated before asking slowly. "May I ask.. why you are crying?" she would ask in a concerned tone.. hoping she wasn't being too nosy.

I looked at her sadly trying to figure out how she saw my tears.

....its...a long story...or death...pain...and sorrow...it all started when the game began i started to say but then stopped. Its...complicated...you wouldnt want to hear of my problems...

She looked at him with sympathy filled eyes. "That's not true.. I want to hear! I have a huge heart.. and I love being there for people who are sad or lonely. It's alright, you can tell me," she assured with a soft smile. It was true, she did have a caring trait, and was the type of person who hated it when people were unhappy.

I went on about the only friend i had throughout the first month or so of the game. The good times and the not so good ones. How one day i messaged him but all i received back was a message saying "this player has died message could not be received". I was enraged but saddened at the same time. I turned to killing people who were unjustly. I found out later, that my friend died trying to meet me at the spot we had planned. He had some big news and an important item to show me. He died intransit because another player who despised him took his life in order to avenge a friend that never came into contact with us. So i chased him down and murdered him. When i collected the kids inventory...i found it...it was a ring...a very precious ring...to be used for anything...so i kept it...knowing exactly what to do with it.

And....thats...my story i finished taking a deep breath

Her eyes softened as she heard his story. "Oh my.. I would cry if that happened to me as well. I know it does seem hard to lose someone dear to you.. but don't worry, I'm sure your friend is watching over you from heaven..". she would say quietly, trying to think of ways to console him. She truly felt bad for Ryu. If she were in his shoes.. she wouldn't even know what to do anymore..

I....I contemplated suicide for the longest time...then i realized, that she wouldnt want that...especially since she had so much faith in me. i said on the edge of breaking down. I his my face in my hands trying to hide my misty eyes.

She sighed before hesitantly patting his shoulder. "Suicide is never the good way to deal with things. And don't feel like you've disappointed her in any way.. I'm sure that knowing you're still alive is enough to keep her happy," Haine said, in hopes to help him calm down.

You are the first....and only other person ive ever told... i said truthfully still hiding away. i couldnt take how much pain i just caused myself on the inside

She sighed. "O-Oh?" she said questioned quietly. "And don't worry about that, I'm pretty sure that other horrible person got what he deserved for.. doing such a thing.. and I promise I wont tell anyone else your story," Haine nodded.

i sat there still crying. i couldnt help but think of her and the ring. thats all i have to remember her...and to remember my promise to her. I knew she was watching me...she always will, but right now i have to be here for Haine...im sure she'd approve too.
