Xylis 0 Posted June 30, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 30, 2019 (edited) Profile Username: Xylis Real name: Takayanagi Ceri Age: 22 Gender: Male Height: 6'2" (188 cms) About: History/personality History: Takayanagi Ceri, a man born into a rather common family. His father, Mitagachi Ceri was a simple police man, while his mother a foreigner to japan Sarah Mitchel, was a soldier that used to serve for the us military, now though her job was a simple stay at home mother. How the two meet, well Takayanagi never got a straight answer from either parent. They liked to dance around the subject, and often times lead him astray with different questions or tasks. Takayanagi is what you'd refer to as a half breed, or a mutt within the subjectable verbal usage of his Japanese companions. However, Takayanagi didn't let that deter him from pursuing what he enjoyed doing. Born with yellow eyes, and bright white hair like his mother, he has often been the subject of attention from others, and with attention often brought the harsh reprimanding with it. Throughout his time in school, he never quiet fit, but that allowed him to make what he considered true friends. He meet four individuals that he could truly count upon, and they'd often introduce him to these new type of gaming systems, along with the new games that had come along with them. It wasn't long before, Takayangi had developed a deep fascination with video games in general, it was what lead him down the career path he had chosen. Around the time he was in high school, Takayanagi's fascination with video games had lead him down the path of becoming a game developer, or at least as what he was allowed a technician. He was able to get a part time job at a local gaming cafe as one of the I.T. staff within the building. This was shortly followed by his acceptance into a digital development college. Which would help with his designing of games. With the new announcement of the nerve gear introduced throughout the world, and the opportunities that it allowed for upcoming game developers, with the chance to experience a hyper realistic world, you'd be a rich man if you bet everything on Takayanagi taking an interest in such a crazy scientific device. Said to allow one to experience the virtual world, just like breathing in the real world today. However, being as he had little interest in what people called mmorpgs, the design for the nervegear being based around a VRMMORPG known as SAO, was a bit repulsive. But, not wanting to miss out, the day that the nervegear was released, Takayanagi had been one of the earliest in line, buying the special bundle that had been released with the SAO first day bundle. Excited after getting the whole thing set up back at his small college dorm room. Takayanagi hadn't realize the mistake he had taken. Allowing his curiosity and his impatience to overtake him, jumping into something new for the first time, without hesitation... Was possible the worst mistake in his entire life, and one he would never forget.... Virtues: Intellectual: Takayanagi is a rather bright young man, he was able to get into a college designed for gaming after all. He is able to process things at a rather incredible speed, he is use to coding and development of systems. Studying different codes, and applying them to his daily knowledge is rather normal. He is also able to read out different formations he see's mobs using, as basic programming code, meaning that he is able to predict the movements and layout of the area's based on his previous study of gaming development. Though not every prediction is perfect after all, traps and hidden mechanisms still catch people off guard. Strategist: Playing off the intellectual part of Takayanagi, he is often cold when it comes to making plans. He's not afraid to risk people disliking him or hating him. He is a strategist through and through... A few sacrifices to free everyone is honorable is it not? Takayanagi can come up with plans so daring that they seem impossible, but of course it comes at a pricey cost for those involved... Will he try to minimize the damage? Absolutely... But if someone is lost in the process... Well, then he'll just call it a part of the calculations, after all... Everyone's prepared to die to be free right? Willful: Surprisingly, Takayanagi has a lot of pride in himself, he doesn't believe that he can be bested by this game, at least in the back of his mind. He isn't easily swayed by others, and his emotions are easily in tact. Probably because he is seeing the situation as a learning experience for himself. That, and he has grown up with people constantly being displeased with him because of his half-breed status. So, all of these years of insults and other similar situations, has lead the man to be rather willful and thick skinned when it comes to emotional manipulations. Flaws: Calculated Losses: With the boon of being a strategist brings the bane of being able to calculate the loses someone will suffer. Because of this, he has been known to not worry about those that perished in previous fights. Often earning him the nickname "The Walking Deadman." Because of the lack of tact he has towards his fallen comrades. People are frightened to have him leading a group, even though it produces results, the fact that he won't attempt to save anyone, has often granted him the other nickname as "The Grave Keeper." Silly little names as he claims them to be. Indifferent: Oh Yes as it is mentioned above several times, Takayanagi has a bad indifference to those that work with him. Being as he's solely focused on clearing the game, and getting himself out alive, he couldn't care less for those that perish around him. So long as they make progress, or they make their way through the next floor or dungeon successfully... Though no one has actually attempted to get close to him, only hurl insults towards his lack of tact for those that lost their lives. If it ever came a time that he would shield someone and lose his own life... It doesn't look like a probable outcome. Manipulative: Ahh, what is a strategist if he can't be a bit manipulative? He will change his words within a meeting, so that he could describe certain actions and events as if they'd be beneficial for the party. He will purposely tell different outcomes than he expects to raise the moral of those around him... After all, they need to work together to get through this right? So a few lies to bolster the ego's of those fighting with him, or encouragement to those with weak wills, will do good in the long run. Even if he doesn't expect them to make it through the fight, but they need all the assets they can get. Profession: (Leave blank until the Earning a Living quest has been completed.)
