Day 26

- 8 T2 Materials
+ 2 T2 Materials salvaged
+ 81 EXP

Bahr spent some time at his sewing station. Sewing, weaving, pulling, stretching, mending, and assembling. After what seemed like forever, the fruits of his labor finally presented themselves. They were nothing special, just a few basic articles with the occasional breath of brilliance in between. Bahr could feel himself progressively becoming better and better at his craft. Every failure was a lesson. Every success a motivator. Every material snipped, every thread pulled, and every nip tucked. If he continued on his track at a pace like this, it would soon be him pulling the strings behind the Light Armor of Aincrad.

Following what his contact had said, Ryo soon found himself on all too familiar streets of the Town of Beginnings. He stopped to reminisce about area he had been before, his first mugging, the first person who was friendly to him, the area where a friend discarded him aside. Bitter memories that filled his mind and before he even knew it, the man dressed in quite fine violets and blues had made it to his destination. 'The Crusty Bahrnacle' was a tailor shop on the first floor, something he needed before taking on the Dragon Anthology quest line. Stepping inside the store, Ryo was taken slightly aback at how warm the place was. Not in temperature, but how it reminded him of something nicer. A place where one could sit and forget about the world for a while. Perhaps that's why Lowenthal chose the beach, and perhaps that was why he had chosen the food market of the eleventh floor.

"Excuse me, is anyone in?" Ryo called out, examining the articles of clothing on the racks that stretched around the shop. Soon enough, he was met with a man with white hair, most likely being the store owner as they sat behind the counter. "Yes sir, I was hoping I could place a few orders with you. Won't be long, just two I swear." Ryo said, pulling out a small pad of paper with a few sketches. "My current coat is a bit thicker than I'd like it to be, and it's a bit snug. I was hoping that we could go with a lighter design, while keeping the simpleness of its original design. perhaps, with something lighter than just wool." He said, going over his sketches letting the man inspect them. "For the second one though, I do find that a nice cravat always brings out the gentleman in someone, and I'd like one. I think a soft lavender would help compliment the coat, as well as some more natural colors of my attire." He said, before filling out paperwork, and paying.

Kityuisa squandered on into Bahr's shop. "Hey big guy! Can you make me some armor? I have two orders!" She held up her fingers in a peace sign before placing the two order forms on the table. "If you could make the first one first, then the next one second." She grinned before placing some col and some mats on the counter. She was going to pay in materials for one and in col for the second, the final armor piece she wanted. They were both the exact same which was funny. One was a cloak and the other was a shadow skull dress.

The Town of Beginnings was a rather fickle place. Bahr's shop could go for weeks at a time without a single new person walking through the doors. Other days, he would find himself inundated with multiple orders at the same time. Today was an example of the latter, so it seemed.

"Welcome to the Crusty Bahrnacle," he greeted flatly as the violet-haired newcomer entered his shop, meandering to the front desk and beginning to jabber on about something or other. Was he talking about clothes? Bahr wasn't paying enough attention to tell. "Yeah, sure dude, right on," he responded with a thumbs up, snatching the order sheet and looking it over. The order itself wouldn't be that difficult to fulfill, but... the names. He couldn't let any Perfect equipment leave his store with names like those. He made a mental note to label them with better names before shipping them out.

No sooner had he inspected the first man's order sheets than Kityuisa came barging in, bellowing loudly as she usually did. "Big guy?" Bahr scoffed, looking down at his torso. Nope, still thin and trim. "Think you've got the wrong shop. Alec's a few kilometers that way," he jeered, pointing in a random direction that he assumed to lead toward the teleportation plaza. When he saw her order form, however, it became obvious that she was indeed referring to Bahr. "Fine - I'll fill this order for you. But if you ever call me 'Big Guy' again, we're dueling it out."

With that, he tapped the orders against his counter to straighten the stack and retreated to the back room, where he could tend to his sewing station and get to work in peace.

Eureka. He had done it. After a string of unfortunate luck with his crafting attempts, Bahr had finally managed to assemble the pieces that violet-haired weirdo had commissioned him to make. Not exactly his style, but it wasn't up to Bahr to judge who had good fashion sense. He just had to make this stuff. He placed both of Ryo's items together with a satisfied grin, opening up his menu and navigating to the messaging panel.

With the message issued, he returned to work with haste. And wouldn't you know it? He managed to craft yet another of the pieces he had been commissioned. Perhaps his luck was turning around. Once again, he composed a message.

To: @Kityuisa

I've got one of your pieces of armor ready, but the other one is being stubborn. Feel free to come over if you want to get the first one. If not, I'll let you know when they're both ready.

Satisfying. That was probably enough for one day.

Back into the shop once, Ryo stepped to the counter and examined his items. Each item was, almost made to his specifications. The names and descriptions were changed a bit and would of course make organizing his inventory a bit more difficult. "Yes. These will do nicely." He said, before he could let the minor inconvenience show upon his face. Ryo quickly added the items to his inventory, doing his best to sort them into his system before giving a polite bow. "Thank you very much. I hope your business prospers." Returning to his standing position, Ryo left the store.

Bahr gave a nod to the man as he inspected the items. Apparently he found them to his liking, despite the change in names. With a sigh of relief, Bahr bid him farewell. "I'm glad that they're to your liking. Please tell your friends, and don't hesitate to give me a ring if you need something else made. Perfects are almost guaranteed!"

Of course, he had to say something like that right before not managing to complete any perfects for the day. How frustrating. With an exasperated sigh, he hung up his coat and decided to call it a day. No use sewing while angry, you'll only poke holes in yourself.

Finally, Kityuisa's order was fulfilled. He hadn't forgotten. Hahaaa, no way. He was always at the top of his game. There was no way he would forget about an order that a paying customer had commissioned him to make. He was far too professional to fall victim to such pitfalls as a reputable business owner.

  Quote

To: @Kityuisa

I've got your orders ready - feel free to swing by and pick them up whenever you're able.

Nice. Done. Finnito.

What a marvelous surprise - another Perfect Craft. Two in one day! What were the odds? Well, actually they were pretty good, given Bahr's track record. It only seemed to be when he actually received orders that he had problem filling the demand for Perfect Crafts. No matter - this one was going up on the shelves anyways.

Kityuisa walked on into Bahr's shop, "Thank you Bahr!" She picked up both the cloak and the armor. Now she was ready to be over powered. This would aid her in her build. Kityuisa grinned before placing both items into her inventory. One was for a friend, the other for herself. Kityuisa then sat down on a chair.

"I will keep you company for a while.. You have any more orders to fulfill I can watch you work on?" Kityuisa had nothing to do that day, and so she wanted to spend it with friends, and since Bahr was in his shop, that was where she would be.

Oscar entered the Crusty Bahrnacle on a mission. Bahr had furnished him with his beginner set of armor. But now that he was encroaching upon the line to Tier 2, he could do with a bit of an upgrade. It would probably take Bahr a day or so to finish this request. By that time, Oscar hoped to be level 25 and able to use higher-leveled gear. He'd already used the Voucher Macradon gave him for his weapon. Now it was time to put Bahr to work. Oscar filled in the order form and left a very generous tip for the man. He'd been so helpful when Oscar was just starting out, so why not repay that kindness now? He turned and left the shop after he placed his order, returning to his own and awaiting Bahr's message that his item was completed.

"Actually, I think I'm finished up for the day. We could grab a bite, or maybe go slay a monster or something. I'm really game for anyth-"

And then Oscar strolled in through the front door. He took the order form and silently filled it out in front of Bahr and Kityuisa before strolling right back out the way he had come in. Bahr shot a glance to Kit, then back to the man's back. And then, he was gone.

"Oh. Well, looks like I've got work, then."

It wasn't like Oscar to not even so much as say hello. Probably just lost in thought or something like that. Not that Bahr was upset to have the work.

His shop was a bit out of sorts, as of late. Instead of all of his materials and thread being in the back at his sewing station, he had a few bits here and there up at the front counter for filling quick orders. Miraculously, he had everything he needed right in front of him to complete the order. After a couple dozen minutes, the piece was complete. Proud for having filled the order so quickly, Bahr opened up his messaging panel.

Oscar came screaming in through the front door looking absolutely excited. Having just picked up <<Yukianesa>> from Macradon, he was elated to read the message that Bahr had sent him. He bolted back to the Crusty Bahrnacle posthaste. It was then he had noticed that Bahr and Kit were both hanging out in the shop. Were they there the whole time? He had been so lost in his head that he hadn't noticed when he was here last. Oscar shot them both an apologetic grin as he picked up his new armor. "Really sorry about being so rude earlier. I was caught up in my head. Was about to hit level 25 and I had some shopping to do in order to prep for it. How are you both doing today?"

She walked into the shop, a dark aura surrounding her entire slim frame. There were no words that came out of her mouth, simply a paper slid over with a request on it. As soon as confirmation of the request was given, she would pay the materials needed for it and wait for the order to be complete. It was a simple enough task, at least for her tastes. But there was no telling how long it may take this person to accomplish it. The tailors of Aincrad always seemed to be the most flaky of the crafters, never finishing an order she gave them unless she breathed down their necks.

Day 33

- 9 T3 Materials
+ 3 T3 Materials

As usual, the shop was absolutely dead. Brilliant.

People had told Bahr that it would be a good idea to become a tailor. "It's in high demand!" they had told him enthusiastically. "You won't have any competition. You'll be rich!" Yes, no competition because nobody ever bought from tailors anymore. Heavy armor was the 'meta' of Sword Art Online, if there was one, and Bahr had been left in the dust. He hadn't even so much as crafted anything in almost a week.

Just as he was collecting his things to go out on a hunting venture, the bell attached to his front door jingled as it was slowly swung open. Through the threshold walked a young woman. She was slender, her visage covered it traditional makeup, wore entirely too much black, and had skin pale enough to wrap the the entire porcelain doll ensemble together like the neat little bow that adorned her head.

What a weirdo.

She approached the counter and silently slid a note across toward Bahr, which he hastily snatched up. And he could have sworn that, in that brief moment they both touched the page, there was an electricity that surged through his body. It was a familiar, foreboding feeling, akin only to his previous encounters with the serial killer Pinball. He cast a wary glance upon the silent woman, eyes furrowed into an inquisitive expression, before his crimson and verdant hues flicked down to the page.

Simple work. A corset with evasion buffs. He had completed similar crafts countless times since he had opened his practice.

"I'll have that out for you in a sec. Take a seat and make yourself comfortable, it shouldn't take long," he groused tartly, before retreating into the back with the order and materials in tow. A nip here, a tuck there, and the product was complete with a final pull of the thread. As the pieces fastened themselves together, the finished article of clothing flashed with a golden hue to symbolize a perfect craft. In record time, too. Since he still had plenty of Tier Three materials sitting around, he decided to craft a little something for himself as well; a crimson jacket that would be ready for him once he finally ascended to that level. There were a few build changes he had in mind for around that time, so he future-proofed this particular armor in accordance with those ideas - just in case.

He retrieved the corset and meandered back toward the front of his shop, placing it on the table and giving the mystery woman a nod. "This ought to do you right," he chirped proudly. As she approached the counter to inspect the craft, he couldn't help but notice the hairs standing up on the back of his neck once more. Just what was it about this woman that was setting him on edge.

"... Say..." he began, his heterochromatic orbs finally meeting with hers. Deadened blue spheres peered back, practically boring holes through his and into the back of his skull. To say that it was unnerving was an understatement. "Can't help but notice you've got this certain sort of... energy." He hadn't realized how difficult it was to describe exactly what he was feeling. He figured if she knew, she knew. "You've got a green cursor, so you're not a PKer, at the least," he mused, cupping his chin as he inspected the floating prism rotating above her head. "But it wouldn't surprise me if you were were into dark [censored] like that. Just who the hell are you, anyway?"

Thankfully, the order didn't take that long. As Neo was cinching up the new corset, she listened to the comment about her aura. All shadow would do was lend a smirk to the player. Pulling up a message window, a simple one was typed up and sent towards them. And with her order claimed and payment spent, Neo quickly left the shop. Though Shadow wanted the player to follow into her little trap, Neo prayed that there would be no blood spilled.

Yukiro cautiously opened the door to what appeared to be a shop. He was pleasantly surprised to find a welcoming, homely atmosphere. If he was being honest, he'd half expected a dungeon.

Yukiro had been aimlessly wandering the town of beginnings when he'd realized it. He was hopelessly lost. He tried to retrace his steps, but that only brought him to what would generally be described as 'the bad part of town'. Any doors or people he saw seemed unwelcoming or outright dangerous. It was when he started considering sleeping in this risky area he knew he had to do something. He approached the nearest door, which was labeled in some form of indecipherable text. A foreign language? He hoped not.

"Pardon the intrusion!" he called out, hoping someone was there, "I was wondering if I could get directions to the center of town."
As he spoke Yukiro began to examine the items on display. Fortune is smiling on me, he decided, I found precisely the type of armor I prefer. He picked up a red jacket that stood out to him in particular. While I'm here... He also picked out a pair of black trousers. "If it would be permissible, I'd also like to purchase some of your merchandise."

Yukiro pays in col, with a slight tip.

Day 35

- 9 T1 Materials
+ 3 T1 Materials salvaged
+ 71 EXP

Bahr examined the items the newcomer had picked out, his eyes flickering up to the youth as he attempted to discern what he planned to do with them. "You have a good eye - I used both of these at one point or another, but never together," he started, pushing the items to the side and hoisting some of his sewing equipment onto the counter. He grabbed a needle and began running some thread - black instead of red. It seemed more like this guy's color. "You seem new, so I'll give you a tip. There are certain laws in this world that will prevent those armors from meshing efficiently. You see, Light Armor caps at two slots of Mitigation. Even if you are wearing two pieces of Light Armor, and their slots total up to three slots of Mitigation, you will only get the benefits from two of those slots. Ergo, a slot is wasted."

He pinched the end of a thread and pulled it, and all at once the fabric he had been working with assembled itself in accordance with the pattern he had weaved. Once put together, the jacket flashed with a crimson hue for a moment to signify a successful craft. It was a black jacket - similar to Bahr's, but with a hood attached. Imprinted down the sleeves were the subtle hues of multiple overlapping nebulae, though it would take a trained eye to spot them. He put the piece to the side and began work on another.

"With Evasion, you don't need to worry about having very much Mitigation, anyway. Or, you could pick up more Mitigation from a Familiar of that type, or perhaps wearing Heavy Armor at the same time as Light Armor. Either way, if you aren't getting hit very much, it isn't something you should put as much though into. That being said..." Just as with the last piece, a single thread pulled and tucked brought all of the pieces together, and with another crimson flash the second craft was completed. These were more plain in appearance, again with the subtle hints of galaxies and stars accenting certain parts if one were to view it from the right angle. It perfectly matched the first piece of armor Bahr had made. "... Better safe than sorry."

With a content sight, he placed the newly crafted items in front of the newcomer. "These should suit your needs a bit better, but let me know when you're ready for an upgrade."

Despite his attempt to keep a neutral face, Yukiro couldn't quite keep his eyes from sparkling. He'd been surprised before-- but not quite this impressed. And he was glad he'd managed to read the prices right.
He wanted to compliment the tailor's thoughtfulness and skill. As usual, he struggled to bring himself to say more than goodbye, but this Bahr (so he read) deserved the respect.

"I see. You have my gratitude for your skill and consideration," he somewhat awkwardly stated. He took the items and (after a bit of fumbling through the menus) equipped them. They felt good; comfortable, light, and surprisingly sturdy. "... they're even better than I initially thought. I'm impressed." he remarked. It was a moment before he refocused. "I suppose I must be off. I wish you well. And I will certainly come back for an upgrade."

Stepping out into the narrow path, Yukiro gave a slight grin at his discovery.

"Ah! I forgot to ask for directions!"
