Fuyuno 0 Posted July 26, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 26, 2019 (edited) «Fuyuno» «Profile» Real name: Miyuki Fuyuno Age: 12-13 "14-15" Birthday: December 06, 2009 Gender: Female Height: 150.9cm (~4'11") «About» Personality Flaws: Apprehensive Spoiler Due to her scarring past experience, Miyuki has a lingering fear of the worst-case scenario. She worries that the decisions she makes will get her or someone else killed. This fear escalates whenever things begin to look grim, and in some cases can leave her mentally paralyzed. Gullible Spoiler Miyuki grew up very honestly, and for the most part was treated in kind. She has come to believe that no one would willingly and blatantly lie for no good, making her easy to fool. Because she believes what she is told, if two people were to tell her conflicting things it would lead to her becoming very confused and unsure what to do for a period of time. Naive Spoiler Ever since the accident she was involved in she hasn't spoken much to people, which locked her in her mindset that everyone is inherently good. She's blind to the possibility that someone could be cruel or corrupt, and her lack of developed communication with people leaves her with no way to see the signs. She also doesn't have much experience with the tricks and whiles RPGs, and will be easily fooled by loot traps unless specifically warned. Softhearted Spoiler Miyuki has a soft spot for people who are hurting or in need. Because of how gullible she is, this makes her susceptible to pity cry strategies. Since she can't help but try and help others in need, even regardless of her own safety, she can often wind up risking her own life without thinking. Stubborn Spoiler Despite her general attitude, Miyuki can be very stubborn at times. She always sticks behind her decisions, even if they end up putting her in danger. If she decides to help someone, she will disregard her own well-being to do precisely that, which can be rude and dangerous. Timid Spoiler Miyuki rarely speaks. Because of her past experience, she blames herself for the pain her friend felt and has forgone speech ever since. Her lack of speech often leads to miscommunication, and can complicate conversations or strategy meetings if the other members don't take the reigns. Virtues: Caring Spoiler Miyuki often concerns herself with the well-being of others, always worried if they seem down. She has a tendency to put others before herself, and always tries to help whoever she can. This sometimes leads to her getting overly involved, and is also part of the reason she chose to have the «First Aid» skill. Earnest Spoiler Miyuki has always treated the things she does with a level of seriousness, and she never makes half-hearted decisions. She was never the type to be fickle towards the things she wanted to do. She always addresses everyone and everything wholeheartedly and doesn't hold back her feelings of concern or companionship, even if it's not vocally. Empathetic Spoiler Miyuki was raised to take others into consideration, and does her best to follow this lesson. When she sees others upset she shares their sadness and wants to support them. She's happiest when everyone around her are happy, and will do whatever she can to help people become happy when they're down. Excitable Spoiler Despite all she's been through, Miyuki still gets excited over new and interesting things. Whenever she sees strange things she's never seen before or that interest her, or even something she purely loves, she becomes full of energy, eyes practically gleaming. Seeing as the entire world of SAO is new and strange to her, this can happen fairly often when she's exploring. Stubborn Spoiler Despite her general attitude, Miyuki can be very stubborn at times. Despite any opposition, she stands her ground and doesn't give up. Once she sets her mind on something, she always sees it through to the end. Trusting Spoiler Since she was little, Miyuki has always believed in the goodness of people. She always finds something good about others, and believes no one is innately bad. She has no issues with believing what others tell her, which allows her to make allies and friends easily. History Born to loving parents, Miyuki was taught to be caring and helpful. She was always very expressive, growing up fairly sociable and trusting. She often chatted with random people excitedly, and formed bonds with others easily, even when she'd likely never see them again. Her parents did their best to teach her that not everybody was as honest and kind as she was, but she didn't understand what they meant. She believed that everyone had goodness in them because of how much she was accustomed to this behavior, as most people treated her sweetly. Even when kids her age were mean to her, it didn't take long for them to feel guilty and apologize in response to Miyuki's warm and caring reactions. All this solidified her viewpoint, so she never really understood the concept that anyone could be dishonest or inwardly wicked. Because of this, Miyuki loved talking to whoever would listen. That is, until something happened that scarred her for life. Around the age of 6 she was finally given the chance to go on her first errand by herself. Her parents were a bit over-protective of her, which is why they waited until she was this old before letting her have this experience, despite how much she looked forward to it. Part of their concern stemmed from how trusting she was, which bordered on a blind level of gullibility. Even so, they agreed that they couldn't shelter her forever, and sent her on a simple grocery run. She was so excited that she couldn't help but share what she was doing with anyone that she passed by. At some point she happened by a kid she knew, and the two of them walked together, chatting excitedly. As they walked and talked, they eventually became engrossed in their conversation. They were so absorbed that they didn't realize they had begun crossing the street on a red signal until they heard the screeching of tired and the roar of a truck's horn honking. As soon as they were alerted of their impending danger, Miyuki simply froze, and her friend only had the time to push her out of the way before getting hit by the truck. The shock of everything, combined with the sight of her friend getting hit, caused her to lose consciousness, and by the time she woke again she was in the hospital. Shortly after she re-awoke, however, the memory of getting her friend hit came surging back, and she had a panic attack. After a few days on anesthesia she woke again, but even after being made aware that her friend was alive and would recover with time, she blamed herself for it all. The truck had apparently slowed down enough to avoid doing anything more than a concussion and a couple of broken bones, but the fact remained to Miyuki that her friend had to suffer through severe injuries because of her. This mental burden and "survivor's" guilt weighed down on her, and she scarcely ever spoke again. After she was released from the hospital she didn't recover her cheeriness until well after her friend had recovered, but even then she wasn't quite the same and still refused to speak up to anyone verbally, terrified she might repeat her past mistake. Her concerned parents tried various methods to try to get her talking again, but nothing ever worked. That is, until an unorthodox method presented itself to them. Miyuki's parents were avid gamers in their day, and had even met via an MMO they both played when they were younger. Naturally they introduced her to a few games as she grew up, but they had wanted to wait until she was a certain age before introducing her to online games. It was a few months before she was to turn 13 that the newest and hottest game on the market was brought to their attention; by the name of Sword Art Online. Filled with excitement that possibly a game that she could immerse herself in completely would be the key to easing her out of her trauma and help her move forward as she learned to coordinate with other players and make new friends. Not only that, when they noticed her watching the trailers herself her eyes seemed to glow with excitement. Being aware that the copies of the game would be limited, Miyuki's father took a day off work and waited in line to secure a copy. In order to keep Miyuki none the wiser, and because he also knew that the line would be long, Miyuki's father left early in the morning as if he were going to work and waited the entire time in order to secure her a copy. When he got home with game in hand, the two wasted no time in surprising Miyuki with her one-month early birthday present. Being gamers, they knew that the sooner she started in this new game with limited copies the less likely she'd get left behind and wind up having a bad experience. With this in mind, they helped her set up the NerveGear and connect to the game. When she spent so long inside the game Miyuki's parents felt relief, believing they had finally found something she could enjoy wholeheartedly. In all fairness they weren't wrong; she was absolutely mystified by the virtual world she found herself in. When they found out that it was a deathtrap and that she would likely never leave, however, they were overcome with shock and grief and it took all the willpower Miyuki's mother could muster not to break down into hysterics herself as she did her best to hold her husband back from rashly forcing the headset off their precious daughter, repeating how doing so would surely kill her, before the both of them broke down together and cried in each others' arms. Story Thus Far When Miyuki first logged into SAO, using her family name as a username since it was what she was used to being addressed as by strangers, she was taken with excitement and wonder. The world of the game was nothing like the real world, and she couldn't wait to look around. She started by exploring around the city she spawned in, «The Town of Beginnings». Because there was so much to see, she hadn't managed to explore outside the city by the time the entire player-base were forcefully teleported to the city plaza by Kayaba Akihiko. When Fuyuno heard the man state that the game would kill them in real life if they died in-game and that they wouldn't be allowed to leave, she completely broke down. The girl became so overcome with fear and grief that she shut herself away for a long time, barely doing any exploring or anything for fear for her life. Eventually, the news that other players were successfully progressing the game in an effort to free everyone had reached her. Fuyuno was curious and in awe of these people's bravery, but still was too afraid to go anywhere. One day, she heard passerby players raving about how beautiful one of the higher floors was, which caught her attention. The thought bugged her mind for some time, until she finally decided she wanted to see the floor she had heard about. There was only one problem; using the teleport gate required her to speak up, which she still wasn't ready to do. Fuyuno didn't realize this at first, and tried to use it on her own. Obviously it didn't work, but when other players came in to use the teleporter, she ended up bumping against someone as they were teleporting to the 20th floor, resulting in her getting pulled along for the ride. Upon exiting the teleportation, Fuyuno spun around and bowed to the other player in apology, but they left her without much consideration. Upon raising her head again, her eyes were flooded with the gorgeous sight of towering mountain ranges and pleasantly bright sunshine. The girl's eyes were practically sparkling with wonder and excitement as she wanted to explore it all, her vigor reignited after so long. She decide then that she wanted to explore the areas of this game while it was online and experience everything she could. After a moment of gazing at the scenic landscape, however, she remembered her problem; she was now stuck on this floor with no means of escape. There was no way Fuyuno could survive higher floors like this, and since the teleport gate required voice command she was effectively stranded. As she sat at the plaza feeling helpless and stuck, she heard the voice of another player call out to her, and was stunned by the sight of a redheaded beauty...
