<<Oscar's Hot Dog Stand>> is not actually, as the name would suggest, an actual Hot Dog Stand. The shop is built in a seedier part of the Town of Beginnings, right next to the Tailoring Shop, << The Crusty Bahr-nacle>>. The exterior of the building is aged and dirty, but inside is an immaculate eatery. The floors are made of white-and-black checkerprint tiles and the seats and tables are made from a shiny chrome. Everything is polished within an inch of its life. Above the door to the kitchen is a sign that reads: You can eat off of any surface in this restaurant. It's THAT clean.

Day 1

His shop was finally open! It was hard work getting his Profession unlocked. But now that he had, he could start cooking up some amazing dishes for the people of AIncrad. Or, at least try to. His level was still pretty low. There wasn't much he could make right now. But, with a little luck and a lot of determination, he would be a great cook soon enough! He was set up next to the Crusty Bahr-nacle and even though Bahr was a Tailor, maybe he'd be able to offer some advice.

But the best way to start is at the start. Oscar walked into the kitchen and set about practicing his Garlic Toast skills. Clearly, he still needed more work at the basics. He toiled and struggled, but just couldn't make anything edible. At the very least, however, he managed to save the bread.

"Oh well. There's always tomorrow."

As Bahr neared the Crusty Bahrnacle, he started to smell something. Something really, really good. Definitely food. It was an aroma he hadn't caught a whiff of in these parts since... well, ever. It was the ghetto, and it smelled like one too - except for today. Bahr followed his nose, rounding the corner for the very street his shop was on, and it led him to the building directly to the left of the Crusty Bahrnacle. He blinked as he deciphered the inscription on the sign for the shop - "Oscar's Hot Dog Stand" - utter bewilderment setting in as there wasn't a stand in sight. "Wait a sec... Oscar? Like the dude who took that set of armor from my shop yesterday?" His curiosity piqued, Bahr twisted the handle for the door and let himself in, a bell affixed to the threshold chiming flippantly as he walked inside.

"Well, if it isn't Oscar Mayer!" Bahr mused with a cheesy grin on his face, appreciating that the neighborhood was slowly being infected by businesses with punny gag names. "Didn't expect to see you again so soon. Let's see, what am I in the mood for..." Bahr snatched the order form from the counter and began scribbling on it, handing it to Oscar once it had been filled out. He was going to open up a col transfer menu, but upon looking around the shop, he couldn't find anything that detailed pricing. "I, uhh... Am not sure what to pay for this. Wait a second, I have an idea." Bahr opened up his menu and sent a trade request to Oscar.

Oscar was quite happy to see that his first customer was, in fact, Bahr. He walked out from behind the counter with a big grin on his face. "Yeah sorry about that. I'm still such a low rank I didn't think it fair to have a pricing guide up yet. Plus, your money's no good here. You get the friends and family discount as my way of thanking you for the armor earlier." Despite his words, Oscar was surprised when Bahr opened up a trade menu regardless. Oscar should have known better. This was the man who turned down 2000 Col that was offered to him. Nevertheless, Oscar hit accept and watched as Bahr dropped in a super-rare Katana for payment.

"Bahr, buddy. You're giving me this for a Hot Dog? It's a little disproportionate, but if you insist.Oscar hit accept on the trade window. He definitely needed a new weapon, but he couldn't help but feel like he was taking advantage of Bahr again.

"Eh, don't sweat it. It's a Tier 1 weapon, and not really my type. I noticed that you were carrying around a Curved Sword when you came in yesterday, so I figured that if you ever graduated to a Katana it could be something you could get use out of. I'm not going to use it and it would be a waste to sell it as scrap," he remarked as he accepted the trade, the weapon materializing in Oscar's hands. "You have fun with that, and let me know how it goes. It has a... let's say 'unique' enhancement."

With that, he turned around, walking back toward the door. "When my hot dog is ready, you know where to find me," he mused as he raised his hand and issued a backhanded wave, lowering it to twist the doorknob and let himself back out onto the street. A neighbor, huh? Who cooks. This will either be amazing or a total nightmare.

Day 2

As Bahr left, Oscar returned to the kitchen and his Garlic Bread training. He managed to invoke the same fury he displayed that very first day in the Trainer's kitchen and, like a whirlwind of Garlic and grain, he managed to successfully create some Garlic Toast. He decided on another Loot Die enhancement, making another Lucky Garlic Bread. He wasn't so lucky with the second craft, but he was able to salvage the ingredients, at least. He noticed that he ranked up and jumped for joy. It was progress! Oscar was so happy with himself that he almost gulped down the Garlic Bread right then and there. Instead, he caught himself and added it to his inventory to use at a later date. It would probably take him a bit before he could fill Bahr's order. But Bahr was more experienced and probably expected that.

Day 3

Oscar had just ranked up the previous day, but he wasn't done yet. He was making real progress now. It was time to get back at it. After all, you don't get better at something by doing easy things all the time. You need struggle to catalyze self-improvement.

Cooking was becoming easier and easier. He'd successfully made two Hot Dogs, one of which was sufficient quality to fulfill Bahr's order. He picked up the Hot Dog, named <<The World's Most Elusive Hot Dog>>, and walked next door. He burst through the door to the Crusty Bahrnacle and walked straight into the back. Once he saw Bahr was there, he got the man's attention.

"Brother Bahr. I have thine meat tube of evasiveness. Sup upon its nurturing flesh."

He opened a trade menu and dropped in <<The World's Most Elusive Hot Dog>>. He waited patiently for Bahr to accept the trade so that he could return to his cooking.

For once, Bahr wasn't in the back hastily pulling threads or carving up materials. He was in the front room of his shop, organizing the merchandise and tidying up. Any successful businessman new that presentation was important, because it was the first thing that customers noticed when they walked into the door. It was one of the reasons he had selected the ghetto - he knew that the stark contrast of the interior of his shop when compared to the outside would impress people and put them in the buying mood. Now, if only people would actually visit the ghetto in the first place...

As Bahr pondered what would get people into this side of town more often, one of the potential solutions waltzed right through his front door. "Brother Bahr. I have thine meat tube of evasiveness. Sup upon its nurturing flesh." Bahr cast a confused glance toward Oscar as a trade menu populated in front of him. He opened the trade, accepted it, and moments later the hot dog had arrived in his inventory.

"My humble thanks, Brother Oscar. I shall cherish this cylinder of mystery meat for as long as it remains beyond the confines of mine digestive sack. Make haste and do good in the world."

The dude was a total weirdo, but his eatery produced quality food and made the place smell good. It was possible the scent could draw in more customers and they could make a real market out of this place.

Day 4

"Another day, another dish!"

Oscar's kept at the grindstone, hoping that today would finally be the day he could stock his shop with something. Yesterday, he'd managed to pay back Bahr for the amazing Katana he'd given him. But that didn't put Col in his pocket. Generous though he was, this game required money. He would help out any newbies he came across, certainly. However, those established in the game would need to pay his prices.

Oscar set about work in the kitchen. The cool thing about crafting was that you could make custom dishes that you wouldn't otherwise see in other games. His first dish was a Focused Hotdog, enhanced for accuracy. It was only uncommon, but even one bonus accuracy could be the difference between a hit or a miss. Surprisingly enough, though, he managed to get a two-for-one craft. For the same inputs as one dish, he got an extra.

"Score!"

He was quite happy to see that his crafting session was off to such a great start. His next dish would be even better! He got an idea for a rather unorthodox dish and began whipping it up. In place of the weiner, he used an iron ingot, but called it a hot dog. The taste would be the same as a hotdog, but it would look as if they were eating a bar of metal. The only proper enhancement for that was Mitigation. And this the Iron Infused Hotdog was born.

His third craft, unfortunately, was botched. But he was able to save the materials and used them on his second craft. This time, he made a Rare dish using a steel ingot and decided a double Mitigation enhancement was most fitting. His Steel Infused Hotdog would fetch a great price because Mitigation kept you alive in this game.

Satisfied, Oscar closed his crafting menu and moved to update his stock. Hopefully he would have customers soon.

Day 5

Oscar donned his apron and stepped into the kitchen. Today, he was determined to make full meals instead of feasts. He'd done a fair few snacks and now he wanted to branch out and really see what he could do with his craft. The first attempt was a rousing success. A Chili Dog with Chili Fries. The only fitting enhancement for all that meat was double Protein. It would provide a heavy boost to damage, but it would also give you indigestion. That would make you a touch less durable in combat. His second craft was a failure, but he managed to salvage the materials. His third and fourth crafts, however, were his masterpieces. Though they were only uncommon crafts, he made two of the same thing so he could turn them into a lesser feast later. "Later" here meaning "whenever he found friends to eat it." His last craft ended in abject failure, but he was satisfied with the progress he'd made so far. Every day, it got just a little bit easier.

Day 6

Oscar was a bit off his game today. He'd botched a couple crafts, but managed to salvage the materials. His last three weren't of the quality he would have liked, but he managed to make something out of them regardless. First was a Chili Dog. Enhanced with Protein, it would provide a small boost to damage at the cost of some Mitigation. The second and third were two Iron-Infused Hot Dogs. More Mitigation with the possibility of also turning it into a Lesser Feast at his home. Oscar wasn't satisfied, but he couldn't craft anymore today. Disappointed he updated his shop stock and clean up for the day.

Day 7

Oscar was in rare form today. Everything he cooked came out perfect! Literally. A double portion of a Focused Chili Dog with Chili Fries was his first craft. He had been so efficient, he'd been able to get two dishes out of one material! Which made very little sense because he needed at least two dogs and two buns at minimum, but he wasn't looking a gift horse in the mouth. The next dish was made with Bahr in mind. Using The World's Most Elusive Hotdog as the base, he added chili to give it a Protein Enhancement. Finally, since the first dish was so good, he made a third. He had failed once, but with four Perfect dishes laid out in front of him, he wouldn't let it get him down.

Macradon walked into quite the shop, not something he had anticipated to see from what he had heard about the place. “Hey! Quit the place you got here.” Macradon said with a smile, “I heard that my small order was ready? Thanks a bunch!”. Macradon would accept the items as well as slide over a piece of neatly printed paper for Oscar “This one’s for you. I would advise you to keep it until you reach Tier 2 when the prices spike a bit, would make it easier for you to get a full set when the time arrives.” Macradon said and gave in a Voucher in exchange for the food order.

Day 8

"Alright, thanks Mac!" Oscar accepted the Voucher to Macradon's shop before heading into the kitchen. It was time to get to work for the day. He worked like a culinary whirlwind, cranking out dishes faster than you could say "I'd like a Hot Dog, please." By the time the word "I'd" had left your lips, a hot dog was flying at you at Mach 4 speeds. When he finally stopped, he had a lot of duplicate crafts. But it was duplicate garbage. Only the best could go into his shop. Anything that wasn't at least rare quality went straight into the garbage can.

Day 9

Another day, another dog. Oscar stepped into his kitchen and got to work. He moved swiftly and deftly. Dogs on Dogs on Dogs were created. But only the best could go into his shop. This time, he only kept the absolute cream of the crop. Everything else went straight to the garbage can. Except for that Rare meal. That rare meal was given a double Protein enhancement to help increase his damage and would be for personal use. The two snacks, however, would be given the Prosperous Enhancement. He would keep one and try to move the other.

Oscar finally had time to sit down and really get his craft on. He entered his kitchen and buckled down, getting to work on making something new. He'd done a ton of Protein meals for Macradon. Evasion meals for Bahr. It was time to make something he'd never made before. A good portion of his crafts weren't up to snuff, but the rare items were worth keeping. He slapped a Prosperity enhancement on the Hot Dog and the two Churros he made. He looked down at them with pride and placed them up for sale in his shop. They said you had to spend money to make money. Perhaps someone would invest in them?

Kityuisa walked on into the cooking shop, she felt like she was betraying Hikoru, buying food from another stand.. But to be fair, Hikoru hadn't even set up his shop yet! Kityuisa rolled her eyes, I ought to really help him with that eh? Non-the-less, Kityuisa stood in front of Oscar now, Tanine Willowflame letting out a cute meow as a greeting. "I'd like this to be crafted for me. Thanks~ I'll pick it up when it's done!" She placed her order, before scooping up Willow and exiting the stand. Despite the fact it was a hot dog stand, she wanted a churro.

He finally had an order! Now he just had to fill it! The client wanted a Churro with a Loot Die enhancement. And she would get a Churro with a Loot Die enhancement. He worked like a man possessed. Flour, cinnamon, and sugar flew in all directions. The sound of oil boiling could be heard over it all. He dropped the item into the oil and listened to the sizzle. While it cooked, he was even able to make another Focused Chili Dog with Chili Fries! He pulled the Churro out of the oil and seasoned it with cinnamon and sugar. He tapped the bell on his counter, a delightful ring filling his shop.

"Order up!"

Alec once again found himself wandering the streets of the Town of Beginnings. He knew his friend Bahr had a Tailer shop nearby so he thought maybe he'd stop by and have a look when he came across a hot dog shop of all things. The thought of a good old American hot dog or brat made the large man's stomach rumble. "Whoah. Easy there boy." The large man said as he looked down at his mid section. Maybe he'd just pop his head in a look around he thought. As Alec stepped through the doorway and rose to his full height of nearly six a half feet tall the heavily muscular man made his way to the shops counter as he took in the incredibly clean interior. This shop keepers really cared the large man thought as he stepped up to the counter. "Hello there." Alec said in his deep baritone rumble. "I was looking to purchase half a dozen hot dogs with either a Prosperity 2 or 3 bonus. I'm not terribly picky as long as their Rare or better please." The large man stated. "Hey weren't you recently at the Blazing Typhoon? You ordered a katana. Yours was the first katana I've ever made. How's it treating you?" The large man asked as his stern features softened and a faint smile played at the corner if his mouth.

Kityuisa had a party ahead of her, she wanted to order a lot of food, and by that, she meant, a lot. Kityuisa walked in, knowing exactly what she wanted. She knew that Oscar wasn't the ideal type for her massive order, due to the fact that he was in fact at a hot dog stand. A cook can make more than just hotdogs, he needs to realize that... Kityuisa grinned, going back to Oscar, "I've got a hefty amount of items I need from you!" She picked up a stack of order forms and began to fill them out delicately. Upon finishing she chuckled at the appearance of the stack. "Sorry..." She scratched the back of her neck, "I need it as soon as possible... I'll be back for more later.."
