[pp/05] 'To stand united'

Recommended Posts

Jinx looked through the guild chat, and smiled softly. Ever since she'd joined the guild, it had felt as if she had found a new home and all the comforts that came with it. Food, warmths, comfort. Jinx had been far too indulgent of herself of late, namely information and trying (and failing) to learn how to cook properly. She'd fully neglected her own combat level for a while now, and the girl had realized that she should be actively spending more time socialising.

So naturally, she called the people within the guild to come adventuring with her! After a long internal debate about if she was being annoying and if the quest she wanted to do would be annoying for the others. Namely, weak. She didn't want to waste her friends time with what could be considered a low level quest. She knew she was probably the weakest member of the guild, but would they get annoyed at her? After nearly an hour of thinking, and overthinking in her absent mind, she crumbled and sent the guild-wide message.

Message:

Hey everyone! I'm going to be questing again, this time on the 5th floor. It's the Blood in the Sands quest. I should be tanky enough to survive it, but i can't deal damage to it. If you wanna join, please do!

After sending the message, the girl went back to her drink. The 5th floor was...far too hot. The water she'd brought wouldn't last long, and the girl rested her head against the table. Why was this floor this way? It sucked, it was toooo hot!

Dustin lays in his bed looking up at the ceiling. A common practice as of late, as he had nothing better to do. Most of his guildmates just straight up avoided him, and Dustin couldn’t think of what to say to Arabelle. “Do you wanna come over?” Was too weird and “wanna go kill another dragon.” Was probably weirder. He was stuck in the same rut and couldn’t find a way out. No one would pull him out, he had to get himself out. Or so he thought. A message dings, pulling him out of his trance he had been so painstakingly locked in. Probably sent to the wrong pers- Across the top of the message it says “Jinx” and Dustin stands up. It had been a while since he had spoken to the lady. It was weird considering she used to be his favorite, but now she had just been classified under guildmate. It’s what happens when you disappear for a while.

Opening his menu and sending a quick return message, Dustin gets dressed before quickly walking out towards town. Before he leaves his property he walks over to his slimes’ fence and grabs a half bale of hay, throwing it over to the large horde of slimes. Walking the other half to Mr. Fluffy’s little enclosure.

Walking into town and teleporting up to the fifth floor, he looks around and notices his quest companion and starts over towards her. “Hey, been a while. What’s up?” He asks, walking up to her with a smile.

Jinx looked at the drink in front of her, and swirled it around slightly as the unrelenting heat pounded away. Even in shelter, the girl made a mental note to not come to this floor unless she had no choice. She flicked the glass again, the absent-mindedness of the girl made her mind worry about the very people she'd just messaged. She knew Stryder had been busy lately, not that she'd made an effort to socialise with him despite living at his house...And the rest of the guild too. Arabelle and Hei, she should make an effort to talk to them more often.

That's what today is about..assuming they like you enough to reply.

The girl flinched at her own thoughts. She shouldn't be surprised no one wanted to spend time with her...Dink. The girl opened the message.

Her face lit up almost instantly, and the girl even started rocking in her seat. Dustin had replied! She smiled at the memories she had of the boy. Fighting together against monsters, his smile.. the girl let a happy hum escape her. How nice it would be to see him again!

Her excitement carried on until the boy arrived, and she quickly shot up from her seat, nearly knocking over the table she'd been sitting at, including her half-drank water. She takes a half-skip step forwards and, using confident that her brain didn't know she had, hugged the boy! She tried to rest her head on his shoulder "Dustin! You're here...I'm so happy to see you, i didn't think you'd come given..you know, i've been busy for ages and i'm so sorry about that i just got distracted with trying to learn how to cook and i forgot about fighting and after the last one i sorta panicked and put down my armour and ..." The girls ramblings would continue, and continue, until Dustin made an attempt to stop her.
