Valentine entered the shop again. This place was pretty much his preferred artisan spot. Valentine was even starting to think he was the most frequent customer. The guild gave discounts but Valentine was the most reluctant to use it when it came to personal matters. He had just got in contact with Weed after a long time. Valentine felt like he owed Sage's older brother a lot. The man was crazy about his brother but did not blame Val for his death. Valentine understood that Sage's death made Weed feel lonely, no matter how stubborn the man was to admit it. He figured having a statue commissioned would be a good gift. Even if it was bittersweet. 

As he looked around he brought some other odds and ends as well. The value did not depreciate and Valentine was kind when it came to people that treated him well. So buying what he needed was always a good thing.

Another day meant another order that was in. Another customer to be served. It was relaxing to take a moment's break away from the ongoings of Aincrad and solely focus on getting a craft done once in a while. The patience and effort that went into etching out the sculpture from a mold brought nothing short of flow for the woman; by the time she was done, only a few minutes had passed.

Was it Cardinal's time dilation at work again? Perhaps. Or it was the enhancements it placed upon players during their crafting sessions to inherently speed up their work. With the item boxed and ready to go, the artisan sent word for the piece for pick up, before taking more time off her schedule to crafting more trinkets for the hell of it.

If anything, she bet her display needed the stock.

The prices were fair which made things easier as well. Valentine recently heard the proprietor of the shop was looking for an item. Valentine wondered if he could trade the item for something he needed. It was not easy for him to forge the item in question. It would have sold for a decent price elsewhere. It was a shame that Valentine had his eyes on a certain thing.

"This time I wonder if I could trade this." Valentine took out a blue green crystal that had a translucent sheen to it. "I would like this to be crafted in exchange if possible. If it is not easy enough to do I can compensate a bit more. I am taking a slight loss at the moment but this piece of jewelry is important to me."

Rarely had anything ever been suited to fit her purpose. This was no exception, the omamori frayed at its edges, seams visibly cut at certain edges before being tucked into itself under more fabric. The make up of the trinket wouldn't escape her.

Yet, it did look good with her outfit. Even if it were to fool a commoner's perception merely in passing, a king was nothing to a little hindrance, a little suffering for the masses. After all, it was their duty to look after their subjects.

"So I'll be taking this," Nian announced to no one aloud. Before the shopkeeper could even more, she'd already chucked a pouch of col onto the counter and strode out of the shop unobstructed.

NIGHT could only stare blankly as the bells chimed her customer's farewell.

She wasn't sure what the star saw in the rings on display; after all, they were made to be carried, not worn, but she got the gist of the newbie's fresh wants anyway. A hum of agreement and a collection of materials across the counter was all she needed for a quick exchange like this.

The player disappeared into the backroom. Give or take five minutes later, and the artisan returned with Starla's new accessory in hand.

(She didn't say it, but NIGHT had practiced for a request like this some day.)

Sure, most other players would've seen this time off as a break, but to Bistro it felt as though she had been locked away deep in Tartarus' depths. A fate worse than death, she had said in her communications to NIGHT -- something that the artisan couldn't agree on, even with much persuasion on the alchemist's part of their trade.

So she decided to saddle the unwitting player with work of her own. Not out of malice, no. Five bottles of Dragon's Breath were laid across the counter in a spread, and the alchemist grinned painfully at the uncomfortable-looking crafter.

"Glad to have you on my re-crafting journey, NIGHT."

"..."

The latter only furrowed her brows, slunk back into her seat, finding herself helpless to the whims of her closest confidant.

     Starla looked at the sign as she had realized that she hadn't filled out the order form. Starla rubbed the back of her neck and laughed nervously. "S-Sorry... This is one of my first times doing this thing, so sorry I didn't fill out the order form." Despite that, NIGHT walked into the back room and after a few minutes, she handed the accessory she was requesting in some paper.

     Starla smiled as she took her request into her arms. Starla smiled at NIGHT and thanked her. "If I ever need an accessory or something, I'll be sure to come to you!" Starla made her way out after taking another look at all of the things she had on display. She really was a talented craftsman. Starla wondered if she would ever get to open up a shop like this, but she shook her head. She might've had a business sense, but she couldn't see herself slaving away at a forge or something to create items like these. And with that, she left.

[Bistro 0]

"Hey hey hey~"

Bistro walked in with a jingle. And NIGHT watched her, pupils shifting between narrowed eyes. The wooden crate in the alchemist's hands was nothing short of full with potions -- it almost looked like a milkman's haul, with the handle and the glass bottles stored in square segments around the partitioning in the center.

"You can't be serious."

"Only the best for a willing patron," the woman sung, sauntering up to the low table with a pep in her step. NIGHT leaned forward, setting down the novel in her hands. Bistro noted that it wasn't the woman's notebook, this time around.

"Just a handful of respites." The crate landed on the table's surface with a dull thud, rattling its contents and stirring them to a jingle. "Nothing too bothersome for your trouble, I hope?"

The artisan gave the box a suspicious glance, half-standing to peer into it. A sigh, scowl intensifying, before the shopkeeper fell back upon cushion in resignation.

"... Do what you want..."
