[F01|R10 Artisan] The Evening Star | Open.

Another shop. He was transfixed on the focal point of the door before he pushed open the barrier. The night was colder than he had imagined but it was warm in this place?! He pulled his glasses down and stared at it wide eyed. Never had he seen a place in existence that looked as rich as this. He wondered how he could even achieve this point or was this the pinnacle? Footsteps echoed around the building, and he thought about how it seemed very nice to hear it. He was fascinated but he saw a cat.

A cat? Was it a real cat? He slowly moved toward the feline and leaned down to look at the creature. His eyes locked upon it as it was his first time ever seeing a cat other than the pictures the nurses brought him to look at. He got down to the level of the cat on the counter and peered at it. Fascinating, he thought. He slowly reached up and touched the feline's head and stroked it gently. The fur texture was beyond expectation and found himself engrossed in the presence of the cat.

He realized that he wasn't here for the cat, but oh he wanted to keep petting the creature. He frowned slightly before gazing at the wares. He was torn. The messages that crossed his screen about accuracy and evasion tempted him so. Perhaps, he should go with evasion. No. Accuracy. If steam could be seen from his head, it would be right about now as he played a game in his head. Eenie meanie.... This one! He pointed at the accuracy. One day, he would figure out how to increase other stats, but for now, this item would work. He placed the coinage and took the wolf pendant and equipped it. He was gone but only after one more pet and he would speak to the cat. "Catch you later, kitty."

NIGHT was quick with the fusion, and Star had stuck around and looked at her other wares while he waited. "Wow, very nice. Thanks, chief. My client will love them."

"Nice to see you," he said on his way out. He looked at the earrings up close. Not his style. Someone out there could use them, though. He was simply the delivery man.

After a teleport, a traveling merchant and his dog, lots of turns, a bear's cave,  and some bees, he was home. Well, not home home, but he was at his shop. And that was basically the same thing.

Nyanko sat on her usual perch, perking up slightly when Acanthus entered the shop. For the first time, Acanthus avoided the familiar. She did her best to avoid provoking any sudden emotions within herself.

Praying that she wouldn’t find NIGHT in the shop, she hastily grabbed two order forms and scrawled her request on the paper. No more flowers, no more cutesy ties to the real world. Just digital trinkets to help her find more digital trinkets. She should have done this from the start. Speaking out loud to no one, she added, “Materials are easy to find. Take them. If you need more, just ask. Just message me when you’re done.” Hoping to avoid conversation, she left quickly.

"Oh, wow! Isn't this neat!!" It was Gambit's first time in the Evening Star, and it was his first time oggling at all the cool knick-knacks. He meandered from display to display, shelf to shelf, wide-eyed and thrilled. For a good five minutes or so, he'd completely forgotten why he had entered the shop in the first place. It hit him all too quickly. "Oh! That's right."

He shifted his attention finally to the statted equipment. A wolf pendant, something he picked up with an "ooo," and a cute plush, which he of course picked up with an affectionate "ahh." He wasn't one to forget payment. He sent the col over to the clerk -- so affordable! -- and was out the door just as quickly as he'd came.

A quick polite entry led to footwear set aside out of courtesy and a bee line approach to finding the desired goods.  No time for banter.  Not today.  If he was lucky, the shelves would not yet be completely bare, though that might be a more likely proposition were this shop devoted to consumables.  NIGHT was always thoughtful to keep herself stocked with items to help out new players, which was precisely what he required.

Cocking an eyebrow, the specific motif for this latest round of crafts was oddly more evocative than he'd expected.

"Is it Harry Potter month, or something?  Maybe I missed a memo?"  Shrugging, he knew better than... something, something about mouths and horses.

"These, please."  Goods exchanged for moneys, he was on his way as swiftly as he'd entered, taking care not to make a mess with his boots as he re-donned them, the gently jingle of the door's bell barely registering his passage.

He was trying to get prepared for the boss fight. Had the fight been announced sooner than he'd expected? Yes. Should he have started his preparation a lot sooner anyways? Also yes. But he hadn't, and now he was scurrying around at the last possible minute trying to get his gear situation fixed. He hadn't joined a frontline fight in a long time. His set was woefully outdated. Pinball slid into The Evening Star, the only place he knew where he might be able to get a fusion done quickly.

"These two need to be fused," he said. He left them with her. He'd be back as soon as possible for them. He slipped out just the way he had came.

Drawn to the sign outside the shop, The Evening Star, she found it intriguing and decided to step inside. The first thing she noticed was a cat perched on the counter. She glanced around; the shop appeared to be empty. Approaching the cat, she patted its head before beginning to browse the shop's offerings.

The glasses with the ACC 3 mod seemed very useful, but would she actually wear them? In the real world, she was grateful for her perfect vision, sparing her the need to wear glasses during military operations. Although she was technically out of uniform in the game, combat remained unchanged. Perhaps she should ask the shop owner for a recommendation.

Returning to the cat, she surveyed the area once more and then noticed a bell on the counter. She rang it and awaited a response.

given that he was awake, like clockwork, nyanko dropped off the counter once it was rung. he shot a look to the customer with a meow. then, he disappeared past the back room behind the counter.

the store was quiet for a moment.

then, with soft steps, the shopkeep descended from a set of stairs unseen. "coming," called the voice, and the artisan appeared from that entrance, nyanko to her side.

"hello," she said, leaning against the counter. nyanko leapt up to its surface to rest at his spot once again. the woman reached out to give the kitten a gentle pat. "sorry for the wait. i'm night. are you a new player? is there something i can help you with?"

"Cute cat, by the way. It reminds me of my sister's cat in real life," she said, giving the cat another smile before turning back to the owner. "Nice to meet you, Night. My name's Oats. You might say I'm a new player. I've been assisting around the town since the game started, but I've only recently begun exploring beyond the walls. I'm in the midst of a few quests now, looking to sharpen my edge out there. I have some decent cloth armor for a defense bonus. Now, I'm in search of a game-changer for offense."

She gestured towards the glasses. "I've had my eye on those glasses because they offer a great bonus—accuracy plus three. However, I don't like wearing glasses in real life as they could be a hindrance during combat. Being a marine, I have the same mindset here. I'm considering... perhaps a custom order? Something with accuracy three and maybe LD. Is that possible? What would you recommend?" she inquired earnestly.

nyanko chirped at the compliment, and night settled in snug to listen. her gaze shifted towards the glasses upon oats' gesture. she wasn't exactly in prime position to talk about how the equipment system worked --- there were other reasons to not wear glasses in aincrad, she supposed. "a custom order would work just fine," she hummed, returning her sights to oats, "but any other enhancements on the same item piece will require a demonic shard. you'd be looking at a single luck bonus with that, which might not be optimal if you're just starting out."

night looked to the materials kept in a low cabinet in the back. "i can fashion two items if need be. accuracy and luck both. that could work with your needs, if you're fine with swapping out your equipment once in a while. how's that sound?"

She watched and listened intently as Night approached a cabinet and offered her suggestion with a chirp in. Oats, with her hand on her chin, seemed to ponder deeply. "Hmm, that could indeed work! You see, my aim is to become a scout on the frontline. I prefer not to prolong battles. Plus, these will surely aid in my leveling up more faster. I mean, I've lingered around longer than I wanted", she said, shrugging. "So it's time I caught up with you all.", she laughed lightly. "I really like your idea. But I have to ask—how much will those cost? I have, let's see..."

With a few hand gestures, she summoned her inventory menu. "2,500 col and 10 materials."

she would've asked nyanko in front of other company. night barely visited the shop as of late, so she took the custom request form and read the table there. there was also something about getting used to having enough col to get by on a daily basis to not have to worry too much about payments. still, the price written on it was a decent percentage of the valuables a fresh adventurer would have.

night placed the page back onto the stack. "500col each," she said with a wave. "i'd take materials if it's not too much to ask. but most shops find them more valuable, and i can do without for the moment."

she left her post, squatting to rummage through the items present in her storage. her voice was muffled from behind the counter. "any requests for the trinkets, or jewelry?"

"Okay, thank you so much for this! Well, I must say I'm usually not much into jewelry. Let's see... maybe two rings? Or a ring and a pair of subtle earrings? Or a ring and a delicate hairpin? An ankle bracelet, perhaps? I'll let you choose from these options."

She swiped down in midair and after couple of clicking, she sent NIGHT the 1k Col.

-1k Col

"Do you want me to note down the custom order?" she inquired, glancing over the order paperwork. There are two distinct formats, one for inventory and another for custom orders. If so, she would likely leave some fields blank, allowing for NIGHT's discretion.

the options given by oats were considered. and though night agreed on the ring, the other choices seemed just as much that they might interfere with the player in the heat of battle. she gathered her thoughts, picking out a select few materials from her cabinet. "no need," she said, her gaze to the stack of forms. "since the order was made in person, i'll just make them myself right now. one moment."

night disappeared into the backroom. given just a few moments, during with nyanko had curled himself into a comfortable napping ball, the artisan shuffled out with two items. "keep this in your pocket," she said, showing off the omamori. then, she flipped over artemis, placing it in oats' hand if she were to ask to see it up closer. "this can be worn. i can pull up some paper packaging for you right now, if you'd like to keep them for later."

"These are perfect!" exclaimed Oats. Night held a trinket aloft, allowing Oats to examine the Brass Omamori more closely. "This one goes in my pocket? Okay, got it. Good thing my skirt has pockets." She then inspected the black marble, adorned with touches of gold, white, and red. The craftsmanship was exceptional, befitting an artisan of her caliber, promising durability and eliciting her gratitude. After a thorough examination, she returned it for paper wrapping. Both the Brass Omamori and the Artemis ring were stunning in appearance.

"Thank you again for these. I will put them in a good use," she assured Night as she received the paper package containing both items.

Items received-

Oats turned and waved her hand as she walked. Before leaving, she paused, turned back to Night, and said, "You know, I've noticed there aren't many artisan shops around here, so I'm thinking of setting one up! But don't worry, I couldn't possibly steal your thunder since you're the expert," she chuckled, "Stay frosty, Night." then closed the door behind her.

3ulogy trudged into the Evening Star, looking over the goods as if wondering just how watched-over the shop was. Seeing nobody but himself, he relaxed, although was ill at ease with the cat. “Probably some familiar making sure nobody runs off with anything. That’s probably for the best.”

Moving over to the section of the store with trinkets, he glowered at the selection. “Glasses? Really? All the cool things you could have made and you chose the most mundane, real world thing ever.” He fished around in his inventory for a moment to pull out the materials. “Whatever. I’ll just go get something better once I cap out my levels. Peace.”

The next stop for the day was a far ways away but once Echo approached it seemed like a far less menacing place than the tailor shop. stopping outside they take some time to admire the large windows.

Looks like a lot of work went into the creation of this building. I wonder if it cost much to have crafted or if you are just given a building when you finish the quest for gaining a profession.

It didn't take long for Echo to become overly aware of their presence on the street or that they had been staring into a shop window for what they considered a bit too long.

Opening the door they hear the soft jingle of a bell and notice as their eyes adjust to what would otherwise be dim light. Their eyes glow a soft green from their iris’. Being as careful as they can to not touch anything lest they cause something to go ary.

Approaching the front of the store they see a black cat sitting on a stack of papers.

“Oh aren’t you just the sweetest thing” they say as they stick their hand out offering for the cat to sniff, which then proceeds into scritches.

“I guess I fill out forms here I will be quick then”

They place the papers and payment on the counter.
