Koga heard the door ring a second time, after the first customer had left. By the time he had come out of the back, the apparent customer was gone already. But, they had managed to leave behind a request form. The man glanced at it and shrugged. Okay, if he couldn't make this, he really was a piss poor smith. And then the unbelievable happened. He didn't just create the order, he surpassed it. And on the first attempt. Was this a miracle? Deciding he should just give the customer this anyways, he dusted his hands off and opened his messenger.

The hunter whistled in surprise.  He didn't know that the newest member to the front lines was a blacksmith.  The look and feel of the shop reminded him of some friends that have long since retired from the front lines.  Xion, Beoreson, and Mack, the three blacksmiths that started it all for the hunter.  A smithy would be a sacred place for the hunter, even if he was just a merchant with appraising profession.  He had a new mission, which required a little bit of preparation.  It seemed that Firm Anima was there to help when four pieces of armor had come his way.  Each holding a precious commodity.  There was also a couple shields that he had appraised that he wanted to work on too.  All of this together was going to let the Jade Hunter become a Jade Healer.

"Hey Koga!  Mind if I use your services for a bit.  I got some armor and shield that need fusing.  Don't worry about the effort, I can manage most of it, but I'll give you something to compensate the efforts given."

Hirru gives 50,000 Col & 50 Mats to Koga.

It was a beautiful day outside. Ranganok has decided it was finally time to gear up and start playing his part in this game. He was strolling through the streets in search of a blacksmith shop. One a quieter alley, a shop took his attention. The Ring and Sword was named. The name sounded nice in Ranganok's mind and the logo of the sword with the tree also looked pleasing. He decided to enter the shop and see what they have. Looking around, he saw a diverse range of weapons and armors, and even jewelry at some counters.  After all he did have some money. Some more experienced playershave given him some col and his plate armour as thanks to doing therapy to their traumatized friends here in the town of beginnings. 

A dark haired mad stood at the counter and called to Ranganok:  “Hey there! In need of weapons? Or maybe some armor? Well you’ve come to the right place. Welcome to the Ring and Sword!” Mikael looks at him, smiles and responds to the dark haired man: "Hello there. Yes actually. I am in need of a weapon and a shield for my adventures. "  He looks again around but nothing really catches his eyes. Afterwards, the tall man, equipped in plate armor, with brown hair and brown eyes, continues: " I am a beginner at this and just started to actually play, so I am not that skilled. I think something that is easy to use would be best, and also if it can keep me alive. For a sword I am looking for a curved sword, that can do as much damage as possible. A scimitar I think it would fit best. As for the shield, I want it to be sturdy and easy to use. But at the same time, one of the more experience players advised me that I get a certain enchantment on it as much as possible. I believe it was called, Thorn. Could you please help me with these two items?"

Ranganok then smiles again, looks at the dark haired man and waits for a response.

Koga regarded the new customer with...indifference as he gave the man his usual greeting in his best customer service voice. Koga was tired, this guy was clearly new which meant little to no money, and Koga had kinda made it a rule that newbies get their first set of gear free. So, there wasn't much interest beyond getting all this done as quickly as possible. Which, usually was not very quick in Koga's case.

Koga listened as the new guy explained his order before nodding. "Yeah, no problem. Gimme a bit and I'll have 'em ready for you."

'Just pray I'm not talking outta my ass, kid,' Koga thought to himself before proceeding through the door in the back.

The sound of hammering echoed for about 5 minutes before there was a small explosion and two items suddenly came rocketing out the door, right at the new player's face.

"There's your stuff!" Koga's face would pop into the doorway, covered in soot, and his hair slightly singed. "Eh, don't worry about paying, you're good!"

And with that, Koga disappeared back into the forge.

After giving his instructions, the shopkeeper went in the back. He waited for 5 minutes hearing the hammer go. Mikael believed that this was normal and that he was making the items on the go. But then, at the end he heard an explosion which broke him off his tranquility and made him worry. 

On the door, the blacksmith came like something just exploded in their face. Looking a bit worried he asks: "Are you alright?" 

Then the black haired man gave him the items. A white window popped up prompting Ranganok to accept the Items. He looked at them and their stats and he was impressed. They were incredibly high quality. He looks at the mans and says: "Thank you very much! Those items are amazing. How much do I owe you?" The blacksmith responded with no money are needed. Being suprised about his generosity, as he was going back into his forge Ranganok bows down in respect and says: "Thank you very much! I am very grateful!" 

Now, with his new items, Mikael equips them excited and they look incredible. As such, the man gets out of the shop in high spirits, ready to go up in Aincrad.

Dropping from a roof top Xena had been running across, simply because the streets were so ungodly crowded she landed quietly enough in front of the door looking to her right at the sign that hung next to it. "Ring and sword huh? Hope they can make more then just those those..." Opening the door a bell chimed which caught the info broker off guard, not by much she just hadn't heard a bell in what felt like months. Her hood stayed up covering her dirty blonde somewhat orangish hair. Her reddish eyes gazed around the shop's wares, daggers swords some armor pieces, sadly enough no claw's, they were a odd weapon to most it seemed, as far as she's met she was the only person who actually used them for combat. A voice then caught her attention, gazing towards the counter a man had noticed her entering and called her attention, walking over a set of vanity claws dangling on her belt under her cloak she looked around a bit more, annoyingly the counter came up nearly too her stomach. She was short, that's all it told her, she simply opened her mouth and asked. "Do you know how to make claws by any chance...?"  She wanted to hide her more new player side but simply set a pair of very obvious new player vanity claws on the counter, as well as a form. "Something like these."

The bell above Koga's door rang, drawing his attention from the sword he'd been polishing. "Welcome in," the man said, as he placed the weapon back in the case and shutting it softly. The man leaned on the wooden counter as he listened to the small girl's request, and then picked up the weapons she placed before him. He gave them a quick examination, before setting them back down. "Yeah, should be simple enough. Gimme a hot second. Okami, watch the store." The wolf let out a short bark of affirmation as Koga turned and went into the back of the store to his forge.

A few moments later, Koga stepped back out and placed the newly crafted weapons down before the girl. "There ya go, on the house for new players."

Xena sat in the waiting room against a wall watching the wolf, she didn't really trust them out of fear they'd attack her. She didn't really like canines in general, she was much more of a cat person. As time ticked a few moments passed eventually, it felt like a hour just sitting there hugging her knees her cloak covering most of her entire body. As the man came back through she came to a stand walking back over to the counter. "Oh, ok thank you." She stated at the mention of them being free for new players, taking them they poofed into a cloud of particles as they entered her inventory. "Uh, well... have a nice day." She stated before leaving the store, smooth, real smooth, totally not awkward at all.

"Okay, like... I heard it was out this way somewhere..." the girl spoke to herself as she moved, skipping slightly as she began to make her way through the streets.  The hustle and bustle began to fall away as she reached more of the quieter parts of the city, before she saw the shop that she was looking for.  The Ring and Sword.

Not at all hesitating or shy, the girl threw open the door, hopping inside.  "Koooogaaaaaa!" she called out into the store as she approached the counter.  "I need some new geeeaaaaar! she continued, coming up toward the front, quickly filling out the order form for an upgraded set of what she currently had.

"Hey there, 'Streya," Koga greeted the bubbly woman as she walked into his store. "Well, 'new' gear is my specialty. Well, specifically weapons. And armor. And shields...so as long as its something like that, I got you covered."

The girl quickly scribbled out her order on some parchment, before sliding it over to Koga. "Easy enough," he said with a nod, flipping the papers over to check the back, despite them usually being blank. "Huh?" Someone had already scribbled something on the other side. That was strange. "Hmph," Koga grunted with a shrug before turning back towards his forge. An order was an order, he supposed. "Gimme five!"

Exactly six minutes later (he had to be fashionably late of course, Koga stepped back out and handed Astreya her new gear. "All done!"

Xena deactivated untraceable as she walked into the blacksmithing shop she got her old claws from, she had reached the point to where tier 2 items were available to her, the issue was getting them of course, seeing how this shop was where she got her old claws and they lasted her from level 1 she figured it'd be a fine place to get her second pair. Walking up to the desk she had already filled out a form, she remembered for once, placing it on the counter of the blacksmiths she decided to just stick around till they were done. It didn't take that long last time so it shouldn't this time either.

That girl who'd ordered the claws before returned. A returning customer. Huh, unusual. Not necessarily because any of Koga's crafts were bad, there was just better loot that could be farmed. Well, best not look a gift horse in the mouth.

Koga took the order before stepping into the backroom forge with a yawn. Man, he did not get enough sleep last night. Or at least that's what he told himself when the first two attempts were utter shit. The third and final one, however was just right. Goldilocks.

The whole affair took three minutes, and Koga stepped back out and handed the girl her new weapons. "Here ya go, enjoy."

"Oy!  Loverboy!"  Blonde, brawny and exceedingly Scottish, Quip burst into Koga's shop without so much as a knock or ring of a bell.  The hardware was probably just too afraid of abuse and let her in without a challenge.  Big green eyes sparkling, she strode over to the nearest counter, pulling various items off and tossing them to the floor to make some room before dropping a pair of matching breast plates harshly in their place.

"Bet ye haven't forgotten aboot me! Ah wis cleaning oot Freyd's god-forsaken excuse fur a shop th' ither day 'n' fun some thing that keeked lik' thay micht rammy ye. He's ne'er gonnae lassy thaim. Bit sae far as a'body else is concerned, ah 'accidentally' dropped them off 'ere fur freuch cleaning, git it?"

"Hey, Koga." The ginger entered the establishment with a smile and a wave. 

"Sorry to drop by without notice, I wanted to see if you could help me out with something.." 

Diving into his inventory, Jomei pulled out enough items to cover a table top; a jade hilt, a finely crafted, thin point blade, and his own rapier, Nihilim's Wrath. Along with the various implements to the perfect weapon, he also pulled out three Gleaming Scales and a dark Demonic Shard. 

"I got my hands on these rapier pieces.. the stats on them are great alone.. but I feel they can make something better if they're put all together." Tapping the space that was occupied by the hilt, he pulled up its stats and quality, "Only thing I'm missing is another rapier that matches the quality of this handle.. would you have an extra on you by chance?"

"Oh, hey Jomei!" Koga greeted, pleasantly surprised by his friends arrival. "No worries, man, whatcha need help with?"

Koga picked up and examined the pieces of various weapons one by one as Jomei produced them, examining them each carefully, before pointing towards Jomei's own weapon. "May I?" he'd ask before picking it up, if the man assented. If he did, Koga gave the weapon a few experimental swishes smiling as he set it back down. If not, the man would simply lean down and examine it closely.

"Hmm, that's some pretty nice stuff. I think I got something in the back that should work for you, one sec." A quick dip into the back room, and Koga reappeared a moment later, holding a rather plain looking rapier. "Not my best work, but should go well with everything else. Consider it yours. An...apology for putting up with Nari and I."

Jomei stood in the front of the shop for a moment, just looking at the different decor that was set up, waiting for Koga to return. After a few moments, he came back with a simple rapier. "That should do perfectly, thanks." Taking the weapon from Koga, Jomei brought it over to the table where the other pieces were arranged. He set the newly crafted rapier beside the jade hilt, placing the Gleaming Scale between them. Tapping the the three items, they became engulfed in a white light before creating a single weapon.

Jomei continued to follow suit, combining that new piece with the thin metal point, and lastly, combining the entire project with his own rapier, adding in a Demonic Shard to give it that extra boost he was looking for. As the final light faded, only a single weapon remained on the table. The hilt was still that jade green of the original handle, but the handguard had become much more ornate. The real splendor was in the blade, which was black like his first rapier, but riddled with cracks filled with a sort of a golden material that bound them together. The shattered look was just for show, as the rapier was as sturdy as ever. 

Picking up the blade, Jomei turned it upwards, the golden cracks giving off a brilliant glow as the light reflected off of them. 

"Thank you Koga.. I know you said you weren't going to charge me.. but I still owe you one."

something about equipment just seemed so personal. perhaps it was in night's nature to keep her stats a secret; and it wasn't so much paranoia that strove her to do it. rather, there was something incredibly freeing about keeping things hidden while the rest of the world would decide it was none of their business. a social contract with two benefitting parties.

so if there was any one she'd pick for the job, it would be koga.

(because it was equally as awkward to leave the house of a blacksmith, and then return only hours later for a commission. would she even need to pay? what were the protocols for such a scenario?)

better that the player kept her story as straight as she could, and then bend it later under the guise of delivery. as she strode in, ignoring the artisan's block of the shop, night sent a missive to her friend about her appearance in his shop. jacket laid on the table, alongside swords prepared, she wondered if the treasures iris had given her would be enough.
