She knew that it was probably a bad idea to be here alone, but, she wasn't technically alone. She looked at the snow white owl that was perched on her shoulder and she smiled. Yeah, she wasn't alone. Of course, it wasn't the company that she got from having Koga around, but something seemed to be bothering him lately, or at least making him think. Now, this worried Noctua, she didn't know what was on his mind, therefore, she didn't know how to help him. It bugged her. She just wanted to try and make the man happy, but he wasn't willing to talk on it? That just seemed to further confuse her, but at the same time, she understood. Why should he tell her anything, if she hasn't told him anything about her really. Conundrums like these weren't good for a relationship, perhaps she was going to have to be the first one to talk? She was worried on what Koga might be thinking about really. Has she done something wrong? Is it about her? Of all of the things to worry about, she started to wonder if it was because Tala hated Noctua for some reason and that meant that Koga had to leave her. Panic flashed in her mind as she thought this, she didn't want anything to be wrong. She just wanted him to be happy, and she did start to wonder if her leaving would give him back that happiness. "What do you think Athena, would me just..disappearing create a world of happiness for Koga and Tala?" There Noct went again, talking to the owl. Athena didn't seem to have any idea what to think, because the owl didn't even give off a hoot in response. That wasn't a good sign was it. She sighed as she thought on all of the worst possibilities that it could be. Even when she saw the sparkle of a material, it didn't seem to make her happy. She had picked it up and pocketed it before starting to walk once more. Edited November 29, 2019 by Noctua

Or was there an underlying issue that she just didn't know about yet? She shook her head and sighed, no, that couldn't be it. Noctua, looked around for a moment, feeling like there was something around. Eh, it wasn't anything. She kept walking and thinking. "Athena, should I just..I don't know, not talk to him for a couple of days?" Athena apparently didn't want to hear that idea and pecked Noctua in the ear. "Ow! Hey, what the hell Athena!" The owl hooted as she rose from Noct's shoulder, seeming to fly off a bit in anger. Well, that was definitely an answer to that problem wasn't it. She still didn't know if that was going to be the full problem, but that was soon pushed to the side the moment she felt something furry in front of her. She looked and the first thing that could be heard was a scream before she dashed backwards a good few feet. It was a spider. "Why is it always spiders in a damn forest?!" She watched as the spider started to charge her and she moved to the side before drawing Graceful Repose from it's sheath and channeled Quadruple Pain. She chose four of it's legs to hit, before she moved backwards once more. Edited November 29, 2019 by Noctua

Ugh, that was gross, she needed a nice long bath after this hunt. That much was definitely for sure. But, she was currently staring at this spider in it's many disgusting eyes. Not only was is a spider, but it was a giant spider. There was nothing worse than that was there. She grumbled something in french under her breath before she started to channel Quadruple Pain once more. Only this time, instead of being able to use the attack, the spider decided to attack that the same time. She quickly moved, but the fact that she moved, canceled the concentration on the skill. So that was that. They both missed each other. "Your eight disgusting eyes apparently don't help you see better." Yeah, she wasn't happy in this current situation. Things were going splendidly in the misty forest now wasn't it. This was the moment that she was happy no one else was here, they probably would have laughed by this point. Hopefully, Noctua was going to laugh about this later, hopefully. Time to do this again, she started to channel her Quadruple Pain again, aiming for the four legs that she didn't hit last time. She was going to cause this thing pain, just like it's existence causes her pain. Possibly a little mean, but that was how much Noctua hated spiders. She dashed forward to the spider, only for it to move to the side causing her to run into a skidding halt to one of the trees. Well then, the thing was fast, that was good to know. But as it came to hit her, she ducked and moved to the right causing it to run into the tree as well. Karma, it's fun to play with. But she wasn't going to let that get her down, or at least, she was going to try not to let that get her down. She stared down this spider as she tried to figure out what she was going to do. There was the thought in the back of her mind about this rapier being actually cursed again, but she didn't want to fall down that rabbit hole again. That would be bad for her mental health, as if the stuff she was thinking before wasn't. Now, she rushed forward, her blade turning purple as she did so, channeling Quadruple Pain, only for the spider to knock her back with it's own attack. Her blade released the color and her attack diminished into nothing as she stood back up from being knocked to her ass. Okay, karma might not be on her side right now. Or was it a different circle of hell? Either way, this wasn't fun in Noct's mind. Okay, focus, breath, attack. That is all that she needed to do right? She was going to be able to beat this spider, right? Noct, stop doubting yourself, you can do this. You have a promise to keep remember. But then, that was even if that promise was even wanted. She was ripped from her thoughts when she saw the spider start to run to her and she grumbled something before starting to channel Quadruple Pain. She released the attack, one hit to four of it's eight limbs. She watched as a chunk of health left it, then burn and blight was seen. She smiled, now it was going to burn. Just as she thought that, the two DoT's went off, scaring the spider causing it to stop it's own attack and taking more of it's health away. Now, she just needed to finish the thing off. She could do it. She was ready to go, staring the spider down in all of it's glorious ugliness. There was no amount of make overs that was going to be able to fix that creature. Nope, the only thing it needed was some spider, and then she just wouldn't have to deal with it anymore. That would be nice, wouldn't it. She took in a deep breath, starting to channel Quadruple Pain once more, but she misjudged the distance between herself and the spider, as well as it's speed. Within moments it was upon her and throwing her back into a tree. Her rapier no longer in her hand for the moment, she was dazed before she stood up and looked for the rapier only for it to be back by her feet. This thing was useful with it's curse at least. She looked at the spider before Athena came over and she saw the white light wrap around herself, and more health come back to her. Meanwhile, the spider lost more of it's health and the burn and blight left it's status bar. Damn. Edited November 30, 2019 by Noctua

Hit, miss, miss, and so on. Was there no easy fight that this game could give Noctua. Just make it take a few moments, a few hits, boom done? Nope, never. People enjoy being mean to Noctua, and she just hasn't realized this little fact yet, poor girl. At least she had Athena's help though, she wasn't down a lot of health, and that was the golden plan of having a healer pet. Now she just needed to be sure that she didn't die. This death could either come from the fear that this spider had on her, or just the fact that only the spider seemed to be able to land hits apparently. But even still, this didn't stop her from charging and trying again, Quadruple Pain being channeled. Well it was, until the spider moved, canceling it's own attack to dodge Noctua. Noctua's attack ended up going into the tree that was behind the spider. These poor trees, they were taking more damage than either the Spider or Noctua could deal to the other. Didn't she already apologize to karma? What was messing with her now? Was it just pure luck, because if that was the case, she was going to lose because she hasn't had luck her entire life. Honestly, look at the track record. She was moved every year of her life until four, well now six, years ago. She's never held a relationship until now, and that's in a game that could literally kill her or the guy that she is with. She wasn't strong enough to protect anything, just look at the hit rate that she was doing on this spider. And she had the bright idea of trying to keep a promise of going to the front lines with Koga. Perhaps she really has lost her mind in this game. Her thoughts were quickly stopped the moment she felt the spider's leg swipe her own from beneath her. Great, the spider can do a leg sweep, this felt unfair. She didn't bother getting up right away, let's just count this as her miss. She laid on the ground and grumbled something before she finally rose back to her feet and stared at this spider. There had to be some kind of rhyme or reason to this fight right? It literally couldn't just be a crap load of misses with a hit in between when the system wanted it, right? Right now, that was how it was looking and feeling. She was feeling fatigued, or was that just because her energy was slowly starting to deplete? She groaned for the moment, she really really wanted a warm bath now. Wait, why were her feet no longer on the ground? Oh, that's because the spider hit her again. Wait? When did that happen? Just now, while Noctua was stuck in her thoughts thinking about that bath. The spider rushed her and threw her backwards a few feet. This was really starting to hurt, and she was just too far away to be able to deal any kind of damage to the thing. It needed to die, and now. She was starting to get mad and it was this spider's fault right now. This new found anger seemed to freak the spider for a moment, because it didn't to move. In fact, the moment she hit the four legs, that final hit made the spider fall to the ground for a minute. She quickly moved away from the spider to avoid any kind of attack it might try to use. So here they both stood, having a good old fashion western show down. No one would ever think that this was going to be seen in a video game, let alone Sword Art Online. But this is Noctua we are semi talking about here, she can make almost anything possible. Like uncomfortable conversations and feelings. She seems to be golden at making those. It never failed either. Perhaps that was why Tala didn't like her? Or was there a different reason still? There were just too may things going through her mind to even help her focus on this fight, but here she was, still attempting to focus. And actually passing this focus marker. He just didn't know what that promise was, or that there even was one. She rose a hand to gently rub the owl's head, only for her to move to settle into Noctua's arms. The small gesture made the woman smile as she wrapped her arms around the owl to hug her gently. "You know pretty bird, you are the best form of comfort when I can't hug him." Of course, this earned herself a annoyed sounding hoot before Athena burrowed into Noctua's arms. "You're right Athena. I can't break this promise. It's too important." If only this owl wasn't sleeping, then perhaps she could help Noctua find her way back to a road. Of course, healing Noctua was a big thing on Athena's energy. Noctua 0 Posted December 1, 2019 Author #19 Share Posted December 1, 2019 Spoiler Noctua: HP: 260(253+7)/260 || EN: 26/26 || DMG: 4 || EVA: 1 || MIT: 18 || ACC: 1 || BURN: 12 || BLIGHT: 12 || REGEN: 1 || RECOVERY: 1 Wait, was that the road? She dashed forward a little bit, only to find it to be a mirage. That was her luck alright. She sighed as she shook her head at herself. Why would she get so excited for something that was obviously going to go against herself? She looked at Athena as the snow white owl moved and stirred in her arms. Well, that was nice, she might have a companion again right now and not something wanting to have a free ride. Notcua let the owl go, and she smiled as she watched Athena take to the air. At least the owl was happy to be around the mist. It made one of them at least. Noctua looked to her left and saw a little opening in the mist though. Perhaps that was going to help her get out of here? The only true way to know though was she for to move toward it, and that is exactly what she did.
Noctua 0 Posted December 1, 2019 Author #20 Share Posted December 1, 2019 (edited) Spoiler Noctua: HP: 260/260 || EN: 26/26 || DMG: 4 || EVA: 1 || MIT: 18 || ACC: 1 || BURN: 12 || BLIGHT: 12 || REGEN: 1 || RECOVERY: 1 ID: 130785 LD: 19 >>TREASURE CHEST FOUND<< She stopped right before the mist started to open a little bit, and she wanted to see what she was going to be able to find while looking through here. She kept a hand on her rapier's hilt as she walked through this little opening. Athena perched herself on Noctua's shoulder as she walked. This was a comforting, yet heavy, act that came from the owl. But Noctua was starting to get used to it, so it was becoming normal to her. She looked around her feet though, trying to see why the forest was trying to tell her that there was something there. She just wanted to know what was here, and then go about getting back to the road. Was that too much to actually ask for in this darned forest? She stopped though after a few moments, her eyes catching the sight of a golden box. Well, this she could work with. Edited December 1, 2019 by Noctua
