Silver Star 0 Posted November 30, 2019 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2019 Silver stood next to the job board in the center of the Town of Beginnings. "Huh, strange," she muttered to herself as she saw the Nature's Treasure quest. It seemed to be a casual day quest where the goal was to gather materials to your heart's content. She smiled and clicked accept on the quest. It seemed a great way for her to find some loot and level up all at the same time. However, after accepting the quest, she realized that there were still beasts on this floor that could hurt her. She bit her lip and thought for a moment, an idea popping into her head. It occurred to her that she had seen other low level players like herself wait by the job board and ask higher level players if they could accompany them as a means of protection. She smiled and quickly took a spot on a bench a few feet to the side of the job postings. There she sat for a short while as she waited for another player to come along. Then she would approach them and ask if they would please accompany her. She hummed a lilting tune as she waited. @Andromeda
Andromeda 0 Posted November 30, 2019 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2019 (edited) Today, An woke up at the back of the old building she had rented for her shop and firmly decided that now was the time to put all her fun exploring aside and gain some levels for a change. Then she coughed at the dust balls that had accumulated on her workbench and quickly set to cleaning up. With that and a quick breakfast (pancakes!) out of the way, the silver-haired player locked up her shop and flipped the door sign to 'CLOSED.' She walked down the streets in full battle attire. Long hair pulled back into a tidy blue-ribboned ponytail, a strangely malevolent rapier at her side along with a shield encased in auburn-tinted ice, and a basic leather jerkin that she wore a collared white shirt with long sleeves under. Her checkered red-and-brown combat skirt swished with the wind that blew by the streets as she paused. ...okay, now she was outside. Now what? An internally listed off her options. Seeing Leah... nope, busy today. Seeing Arabelle... the very thought made her cheeks turn red and as nice as it was, she quickly dismissed it with the silent promise that she would only work with the girl again once she was stronger. Then she remembered something the former had mentioned to her in passing. A job board... right? That sounded nice. If it didn't list quest, it listed players who needed help with quests. She wasn't too sociable that she would work very well with people she just met, but she could get some information from there at least. An internally reviewed the detailed map of Floor 1 that she had already memorized and turned a corner. A few blocks down, a few more turns, and almost getting run over by a passing cart - and she reached the job board. An stepped closer and perused the notices with a contemplative frown. Hmm.... Spoiler LEVEL 7 140/140 HP | 14/14 EN | 3 DMG | 33 MIT | 1 LM | 2 Blight | 1 Burn | 1 Frost Thorns | 1 Frost Aura SKILLS [used sp: 13 | unused sp: 3] Rapier -- Rank 2 EQUIPPED Jack's Corrupted Legacy -- T1 Demonic Rapier -- Cursed | [x2] Blight | Burn -- [reference] "...and they shall cast them into the furnace of fire, where there was weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth." A malicious, unstable weapon hidden beneath a plain semblance. Patterns of vines and fleur-de-lis are etched onto its black swept hilt and its blade is 38 in. long. It takes on a crimson red aura when a Sword Art is activated. At random, unpredictable occurrences, the weapon will burst into flames - sometimes red, sometimes a darker hue, and sometimes a pitch black in color - and inflict a strong damage-over-time effect on its enemy. Svalinn -- T1 Demonic Shield -- Cursed | Frost Thorns | Frost Aura | Mitigation -- "The shield which once stood before the sun and kept the Earth from being set aflame." A small round shield perpetually encased in a thick layer of unyielding ice. Its surface is uneven, with sharp ice crystals jutting out and rising up, and any attack aimed at it would sure result in a nasty counter-effect. Attacks made from afar or otherwise aren't left without retribution either, as the opponent would feel themselves surrounded by an intense chill. When equipped alongside any item with a flame enhancement, the ice becomes dyed with an auburn hue but does not lose any of its intensity. Rugged Leather Jerkin -- T1 Perfect Light Armor -- [x2] Mitigation | Light Momentum -- Contrary to the amateur merchant's belief, this light armor was crafted by the goblins themselves. It is made of fibre leather and a few frayed edges imply a rather clumsy craftsmanship. But it's light and covers the important places, and the merchant insists it's completely fine to wear! BATTLE READY INVENTORY [x3] Starter Healing Potions -- Heals 50 HP [x1] Teleportation Crystal -- Use a post action to activate a teleport crystal. Teleports the player to the town or designated teleportation area they specify. SWORD ARTS Rank 1 [x2] Rip Ravine (2 Energy) - Two quick slashes into a target Rank 2 [x3] Accel Stub - (3 Energy) - A chain of three nimble thrusts aimed at the target's torso. [x4] Quadruple Pain - (4 Energy) - Four thrusts are made, each aimed at the limbs of the opponent. Edited November 30, 2019 by Andromeda
Silver Star 0 Posted November 30, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted November 30, 2019 Silver saw another player approach the job board and quickly hopped to her feet. The other player's attire contrasted deeply with her own. Silver wore a full set of silver armor that had a set of angel's wings engraved on the front. She approached the player from behind and gently tapped them on the shoulder. "Um, excuse me, but if you're not busy, would you mind helping me on a quest? I would like to do the Nature's Treasures quest, but I'm well..." She blushed and scratched the back of her head with her hand. "I'm a bit afraid to go off by myself at this low of a level." Silver laughed nervously and then remembered that she had forgotten something quite important: an introduction. Her eyes opening in realization and surprise, she held out her hand and said, "Oh, right! I forgot to introduce myself. Silly me. I am Brianne, and I'm still a bit of a noob when it comes to this game." @Andromeda
Andromeda 0 Posted December 1, 2019 #4 Share Posted December 1, 2019 (edited) An startled. "Oh, hey! Wazzup?" And then she turned a bright red at the words that automatically flew from her mouth. What the heck was that overly-casual greeting? And to a stranger?? An felt like banging her head against the job board, right then and there. Harriette, you dummy, it didn't fit your voice at all! You stupid, socially-inept-- And from there, her thoughts were equivalent to a keyboard smash. But she had autocorrect on. And it was limited to spitting out every single self-insult she knew. She took a proper look at the equally -- no, much less -- flustered woman who had approached her out of the blue, and she at least still had enough brain capacity to process what she was saying. Quest... help... Oh, a noob! "Yeahhh, sure." Being preoccupied with her thoughts made her sound a bit disinterested, but she quickly psyched herself up and nodded vigorously. "I-I mean, I really want to! I was kind of looking for one. A, uhhh, a party member, I mean." She seriously needed to slow down or she was just going to embarrass herself more. She took a deep breath, puffed her cheeks out, and exhaled. Then she gave the woman her best attempt at a calm, friendly smile. "I'm An. That's fine, I was a noob just a few months ago. So, I totally get you. Party request." At her voice command, the pop-up window appeared in front of Noob. ...she was not going to call her that forever, it just kind of stuck, okay? "Let's go. I'm okay with combat, so I think we can go right ahead with just the two of us. We can talk as we walk." But really, she felt as if she couldn't handle more than one completely unfamiliar teammate at a time. An nodded to the street that led back to the main road and they went off on their way.
