[PP-F1] A Nice Picnic (Shaya)

Recommended Posts

The question hit Angel like a car. The real world? Why did he want to go back to the real world? What was waiting for him on the other side? After thinking about it, he finally reached a decision. He smiled, his eyes getting cloudy as he began to think. "My sister. My favorite part of the real world is my sister. She hasn't given up on me yet, even though it's been this long. She was always there for me even when things couldn't possibly get worse. And, I miss her because of it." He said while taking a drink of OJ. He really did miss her. Then he focused back on Shaya. "And, what I'm going to love most about the real world is meeting you all over again." He said with a grin. "Alright, now it's my turn. What is your favorite part of this world?" He asked, already knowing the answer and just wanting to give her an easy one.

Shaya saw the grin on Angels face as he asked the question, Well I think it's obvious, but if you must know, it's Lucifer. She said jokingly ruining what Angel intended. No, of course it's you. She said with a smile. How about... season? She looked outside at the sky it was bright as if it were summer or early spring.

Angel looked around. The diner was now bustling with players and NPCs alike. He smiled, thinking about how carefree they were acting, as if nothing was wrong. Then he looked back at Shaya. "My favorite season is winter. I always loved having snow ball fights with my friends and the winter holidays didn't hurt either. My favorite part of Winter was by far Christmas." He looked at the table. "What do you like most about me?" He asked, quite suddenly.

Shaya looked at him with her face matching the mood that was set, serious. I like that you care, you live your life unlike hundreds of people who've jumped off the edge of Aincrad. You care about your life you care about Lucifer's and I can see... You care about mine. She looked at him in the eyes, And that is one of the million reasons I love you. She had trouble coming up with a question so, I'm gonna steal your question what do you like most about me?

He looked up at her with that trademark grin. "I love how you manage to calm me down, even when I'm at my worst. Your voice always manages to make everything go away. I also love your smile, the way your eyes seem to sparkle whenever you see something that fascinates you. But, what I love the most is your heart. You always know what to say and how to say it. But above all else, I love you as a whole." He said, raising an eyebrow as he did so and wondering what her response would be. He didn't ask a question because he wasn't focused on the game anymore; he was focused on her, completely and fully.

Shaya wiped tears from her eyes as he spoke, Angel, that was the perfect answer. I think you won a game you couldn't. She smiled as she stared at him with tears of joy flowing out of her eyes. Angel I-. She stopped herself thinking back to her dream making her nervous from what she really wanted to say. I love you, more than anything else in the world, more than food, animals, family, and my own life all put together. Nothing can change that, ever.

"Shaya, I love you too. I really do." he said, his eyes watering slightly. He really did love her with all his heart. He just needed to show her somehow. He grabbed her hand and stood up. "Shaya, you wanna go out? Anywhere you want to go, we'll go." He said, getting a crazy look. He was smiling like a mad man; like a man on a mission. He was determined to prove his love to her, anyway he could.

Angel smiled. "Then I'll take you to the top of a mountain. Let's go." He said, leading her out the door and towards the wilderness, where all the mountains rested. He led her through the forest until they reached the base of a big mountain. As he looked it over, he nodded and then looked down at Shaya. "You ready?" He asked.

She barely even got to say, Okay. As they walked out the door of the restaurant, they left rather quickly as they headed for a near mountain. Okay Angel, understand I will do anything I can to not panic, but just in case don't let me fall. She looked up at the peak of the mountain already getting butterflies in her stomach as they both started up the mountain.

Angel climbed the mountain, making sure Shaya was safe as he pulled himself up the treacherous surface. There were jagged rocks all around him as he managed his way up the mountain side. He kept climbing, not even realizing that they were already pretty high off the ground. He didn't care though, he was starting to have fun. He kept pushing himself until they reached a ledge to rest at. There he sat and pulled Shaya up next to him. "Having fun yet?" He asked, a little out of breath.

Shaya looked down just as he said that and closed her eyes as he pulled her up, Yep, I'm having a great time. How about you? She looked up to the top of the mountain noticing there was still a long way to go, Did you have fun making it almost halfway? She said laughing to herself, she knew she was scared in the back of her mind but she didn't mind it being around Angel.

Angel smiled. "I'm not done just yet, and neither are you." He found a solid foothold and a handhold, began making his way up again, a little faster this time. He kept pushing his body even though he knew he was tired. He just didn't want to show it to her. "Come on, don't tell me you're tired already." He laughed down at Shaya who was still on the ledge at that point. It was only a few more feet before he realized something almost terrifying; they were near the entrance of the <>. A wave of memories came flooding back to him as he remembered his fight with the Stone Guardian. He shook the thought away, but it didn't completely disappear.

Angel started climbing up while Shaya tried to catch her breath, No I'm not tired I'm just giving you a head start. She said jokingly as she started to climb after him. He seemed to stop abruptly, Is something wrong Angel? You can't stop yet. She noticed his face looking kind of worried, she tried to ignore it but she couldn't get that picture out of her head, D-do we need to go back. She said in a worried tone.

Angel quickly recovered and continued back up the mountain. "No, we can keep going. Just stay away from that cave." He said as he pointed to a small opening in the mountainside. He quickly moved past it, climbing faster then he intended to. He hadn't even realized that his heart was racing. He was, actually scared. He was sweating, half out of fear and half out of fatigue. When he came to the next ledge, he sat down and lay back. He wiped the sweat off his forehead and tried to control his breathing.

Shaya climbed after him starting to struggle as she got close to the edge, she pulled herself up and opened her inventory. She poked an icon in there and 2 water bottles formed from tiny pixels in her hands. What was in that cave that had you so worried? She handed a bottle to Angel knowing he was just as tired as she was.

He accepted the water and drank it slowly, savoring the refreshment. Then he set the drink down. "Remember when I told you about that boss fight with the Stone Golem? Well, that's where it is. It's still there, waiting for another player to go into it's trap." He said, his eyes getting cloudy. He sighed, but then he smiled. "Yeah, it's been a while since I fought him. But that's in the past, and I like to leave things in the past that belong in the past." He said as he sipped his water again, looking down at the world below them, the same smile on his lips.

I prefer to do the same, you can't change the past. Most of the time you don't want to relive it at all. She looks down on the world below them, looking down on the people that look like ants to them. She realized something she never asked Angel, "Is he older than me?" She turned to him he seemed to be very content for being up so high in the air, Hey Angel, how old are you? She turned her head to the side with a curious look on her face.

Angel didn't know how to react. He'd never been asked that before. He actually had to think about it. "Last time I checked, I was 19." He sat back on his hands, the impact of the situation hitting him. How old was Shaya? He didn't show it, but he suddenly got very worried. He looked over at her, "How old are you?" He asked, trying to keep his voice steady.

Shaya let out a sigh of relief, she wanted to be the older one. I'm 20. I'm turning 21 in September. She smiled at the fact she was older. Did you want to be the older one? She asked not worrying too much about the answer, either way it didn't seem like a big deal to her. I hoped I was older, I just seem to be in a better position when I am. She looked at him smiling for they made it this far up the mountain.
