While he was looking around the inns and taverns of Urbus for some Christmas gifts he could give to his friends he over heard someone claiming that a floor boss had spawned, Randal perked up his ears and listened in. Apparently the person shouting out to the players of Urbus was the floor’s information broker and he had received information from a small party of players who was just returning from one of the fields after having been hunting wind wasps which were a far more difficult version of the bees on the first floor. The word around was that the queen of the wasps had arrived to protect her progeny and was causing a major ruckus in the fields. Randal checked the Mission requirements and decided that he should try to help out. Departing for the last known location. Randal also decided that he would have good meal before leaving and quickly ate some food. Skeleton 0 Posted December 24, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 24, 2019 "There's a field boss! A field boss! We need someone to slay it! It's killing adventurer after adventurer!" Skeleton was standing off to the side, watching the NPC wave a flyer. The NPC was wild, trying to catch people's attention, but it seemed that very few cared about a second floor field boss. Well, that's what Skeleton was thinking until he saw Randal making a dash towards the information broker and for a short period of time, the silence washed over the town square. The sight of Randal was odd. Immediately after speaking to the broker, he withdrew a meal from his inventory and began devouring the contents of the plate before Skeleton could even make out what it was. Skeleton decided he'd bite the bait and see what his busy ol' pal was up to. "Oi, Randal." Skeleton voiced as he approached with a wave. "You taking on the field boss? If so, mind if I tag along?" Randal 0 Posted December 24, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted December 24, 2019 (edited) 9 hours ago, Skeleton said: You taking on the field boss? If so, mind if I tag along?" “Hey Skeleton! How’s it going?” Randal comfortably asked. Looking by the state of skeleton’s clothes, he really looked like he had been doing well for himself. Randal then replied to what Skeleton said with a quick “ yea, come on, here’s the information i got so far, and I’m not too worried about the whole situation, actually kinda cocky right now.” That was a surprising amount of candour. As it stands Randal and Skeleton were both fully capable of handling the mission on their own to varying levels of difficulty but considering that Randal enjoyed the company, he was glad to have him along for the hunt. It would make the journey far easier and less of a hassle. The wind wasps that they would encounter during this mission reminded Randal of the last Airbender from real life television. Randal did then lead Skeleton after he did what ever he needed to do first and scoured the area for the field boss. Skeleton 0 Posted December 25, 2019 #4 Share Posted December 25, 2019 (edited) On 12/24/2019 at 3:12 PM, Randal said: “ yea, come on, here’s the information i got so far, and I’m not too worried about the whole situation, actually kinda cocky right now.” Randal did seem to be rather confident in the ability to slay this Wasp Queen. So much that Skeleton was almost tempted to stand back and watch, but he needed to learn to survive so that he hadn't needed to fully rely on others. Time to learn to pull his own weight, so to speak. It didn't take long for Randal to do the very Randal thing he does. Which is rapidly spin on his heels and march onward towards his goal. Being prepared for the event, Skeleton thankfully only needed to move alongside Randal towards the area for the Queen Wasp. Skeleton was skimming through his inventory, assuring himself of what he had in stock. Thankfully in the trip to the field, he'd not dropped anything, not that he thought he could. Randal 0 Posted December 25, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted December 25, 2019 (edited) Randal totally underestimated the sheer size and force of the wasp queen, after all, the other wind wasps were all fairly mediocre looking bugs with their only benefit being the quickness and agility of all of them. However when it came to the speed of the wasp queen, she was even faster than her minions. Randal formed his legs into swords and spun towards the wasp queen following skeleton’s lead. He hasn’t noticed before but Skeleton uses a dagger but no shield and Randal internally wondered why but knew Now wasn’t really the time. As he got closer, the wasp queen with all the speed in the world dodged upwards into the air before trying to use its immense insect butt to crash into Skeleton, but to no avail, Skeleton has been training and his reflexes proved it. The only thing that he could think of to bring the bug down low enough was to simply bait it's attack out, and aim for the wings. "Uh, let me give this a try." he replied as he prepared his dagger. Skeleton darted forward towards the boulder he was sitting on moments ago. With a quick hop on to the rock, he let gravity pull him down to a crouch so he could vault off and in to the air. As much as Skeleton thought he looked cool, he was merely a lanky dude flailing through the wind, somehow clinging to his dagger. The Wasp Queen seemed to want to take advantage of the new airborne snack, however Skeleton thankfully managed to attack once more with Fad Edge as the queen passed by. Randal 0 Posted December 25, 2019 Author #7 Share Posted December 25, 2019 (edited) Skeleton’s Attack was actually majestic as all heck. The vault and jump and everything was really cool and Randal wished he was flexible enough to carry out a simple and similar attack but unfortunately he knew he couldn’t. However what he could do was easy to say, had to carry out, based on what he understood from the game mechanics regarding hate, Randal stood beside where Skeleton landed and in the moment when he was defenceless and the wasp queen was blinded by hate and headed right for him, Randal grabbed the queen’s stringer and body slammed her into the ground before carrying in to pound into her body with his fists until she turned into a blue light. Skeleton 0 Posted December 26, 2019 #8 Share Posted December 26, 2019 (edited) Randal's follow up was everything Skeleton had hoped for. Well, it wasn't his initial hope, but a hope nonetheless that he was happy to have at the time. Skeleton had heard the buzzing of the wings, and saw the tip of the stinger approaching him at what he could only describe as an uncomfortable speed. Randal's grapple, reversal, and consequential beat down put the buzzing to a swift stop. The peace would have been wonderful if there weren't Wind Wasps all around the field. Skeleton took what he could get with the situation. Which thankfully did include a potion named "The Matriarch's Stinger". Looking at it, Skeleton figured with enough resources he could easily make a potion that could outperform it, but knew well to accept the loot as it came. "Thanks for the follow up. I didn't expect that to work." Skeleton admitted. Skeleton reached out a clenched fist towards Randal. ID# 132705 LD: 1 Edited December 27, 2019 by Skeleton

It was a pretty sad and oh wells feeling. Before they could really say anything to each other, the sound of buzzing came back again and two wind wasps started flying quickly towards them after the death of the wasp queen, maybe they were looking for revenge after the death of their queen or maybe they were just unfortunate enough to be standing in the aggro area of the mobs when they spawned or wandered in. With the impending insects flying over and Skeleton still examining the potion, Randal decided to meet the wasps halfway while screaming “2 more!” And then proceeding to kick at both the bees pushing them out of the way. Randal 0 Posted December 26, 2019 Author #11 Share Posted December 26, 2019 (edited) Randal didn’t really know what to expect from the monsters, they seemed to be in a frenzy, you’d think that the queen of the hive would be the most difficult beast to kill due to the name and everything like the sheer size of the monstrosity but these wasps that had dashed over actually were super dangerous. Randal having just been stabbed by the stingers of the wind wasps was left on the outskirts of the battle but still being chased by the wasps. He ducked and dodged and hope to avoid being hit the next time while permitting one of the wasps with kicks over the head. Randal couldn’t help but amusingly call out to Skeleton even in spite of the relative danger being posed to his life. “Do you think these are the royal guards?” He mused. Skeleton 0 Posted December 26, 2019 #14 Share Posted December 26, 2019 (edited) Randal's snort was evidence enough that his pun hit the mark. Unfortunately, the wasps weren't having such a grand time as Randal dealt a lethal blow directly to the most pestering of the wasps. The wasp dubbed Wind Wasp number 2. It'd been the one to continuously strike Randal in the back. The poor fella didn't see the strike coming, and now wouldn't see any more. Or rather that's what Skeleton would think if the NPCs did indeed have any sentience. Quote “You planning to get a house?” "A house would be nice, but I'm nowhere near rich enough." he replied. The other, surviving wasp seemed to simply lose interest in combating Randal as it turned and made tracks toward Skeleton. "What the- Are you still mad about earlier?" he asked. Time seemed to pause as the stinger remained in Skeleton's abdomen. Skeleton stared into the wasp's eyes, dagger still ready to intercept the wasp that had already impaled him. Randal 0 Posted December 26, 2019 Author #15 Share Posted December 26, 2019 (edited) “This is about as close to death as I can get it “ Randal shouted while looking at Skeleton. This was actual a fact due to the resulting usage of all of Randal’s energy, he was almost completely spent by the end of the last few turns. Then again after looking at the remaining health of the final wind Wasp, Randal was fairly sure that if Skeleton manages to land his last hit he would be able to do at least 18 points of damage to the wind wasp. Essentially what just happened was Skeleton managed to somehow hold on to the wind wasp that pierced him spewing Randal to get another round of Bruce lee kicks going and dealing immense damage to it, however this exchange allowed the wasp to escaped skeleton’s hold and started to fly towards Randal. His right foot slid into place to keep him from falling, and the sword art kicked in to action. How to deal with the loot wasn’t even close to the problems that Randal had to deal with, still kind of tired out from the strenuous battle. Slashing with a weapon might require way more strength to wield but using martial arts took a lot of flexibility and agility. Thankfully punching a rock strengthened his fists enough. “Maybe we should just take what we need, we should split the Col evenly, then I’ll take the materials and you can take the equipment, though I can recommend that you custom make what you want in the shops cause you can’t choose what enhancements the equipment would have.” Randal contemplated out loud. It may be best to commission the stuff straight up then... I can use the gear as filler for now. Best to have something that nothing at all. How much col did the other wasp drop?" Skeleton asked. Skeleton had now begun to think about the need to start taking care of his equipment and what he used. He'd be in battles far more often now as compared to before, so he'd best be prepared. Based on how he fights, he wouldn't be the kind to take a shield with him, he'd be more agile and nimble, so perhaps something to grant him defence with unrestricted movement. Hopefully he'd be able to gain something of the sort with the gear from these wasps, or from commissioned gear. 57 minutes ago, Randal said: “Wasn’t that kind of fun though?” Randal's voice snapped Skeleton out of his thoughts. More importantly to Randal he needed to get the experience so that he could improve his skills and eventually when he gets a pet, teach it how to use skills too. I need the materials more for supplying my shop, and you need the equipment, I mean you can choose to sell it for more to buy more equipment or identify it to use for yourself and then we can split the Col amongst ourselves evenly.” Skeleton pulled up a loot interface to tally up what they got and split it among the two of them. "1020 col, 6 T1 Materials, a rare trinket and rare armour that need identified." Skeleton tallied. Spoiler ID# 132796 LD: 6 No chest found. The field around Skeleton and Randal seemed to grow rather quiet despite all the buzz from earlier. This granted a welcomed respite for Skeleton's ears. Quickly parting the col to 510 each, the materials to 3 each, and one rare item, with Skeleton taking the armour and Randal taking the trinket, the loot split evenly. Randal himself had managed to search for extra materials in his own time, to give himself a rather nice haul.
