She had been ignoring this quest long enough really, and since she was coming close to being level fifteen, she knew that she would miss out on the experience soon. So, now was the best time to get it done right? Looking down at Bast, she smiled lightly, "Alright Bast, time to go and see what this beginner quest is all about. I bet you anything, it's just us going out to find some things." She just did a quest like that yesterday to get her profession, but watch this one be the exact same. So, the pair walked up to the NPC and it began.

"Hello new adventurer! I am Zakariah and I need some help. I need someone to go and get me five materials, but you cannot get them through combat, only gathering. Once you have found the materials, please bring them to me at my shop." With that, the NPC disappeared into the crowd and the quest acceptance appeared before Neph. She sighed as she pressed accept and she started upon the journey of hunting more things with her lovely panther.

The pair watched as the NPC disappeared before she turned around and looked at the exit of town. "So, here we go again Bast, another quest of fetching items from the wilds. Wonder if he's going to make us craft with them too." She chuckled at the thought, if so, at least she had that going for her. That was going to make this just that much easier at least, which was something that she was going to love dearly. Now, one would think that after her profession quest, she would bring someone else along with her to keep her some company. Nope, she was quite content being with the panther that was walking right beside her. What was going to be things better than that after all? The panther could talk back, but it was nothing like a human talking back. Humans talking back could be annoying. Bast was at least adorable when she talked back.

The walk out of the town was quiet, not even Bast was wanting to talk too much about it. That was a surprising turn of events really. "What's wrong Bast? Hate the idea of fetch quests too?" Yeah, Bast knew enough about gaming to know that this was exactly that, a fetch quest. A boring one at that too if you were to look at it. The panther looked up at Neph and whistled her agreement. Neph smirked as she nodded, "Yeah, I know exactly how you feel Bast. One day, we won't be doing fetch quests and we will be able to protect others." A chirp came from the panther then as Neph watched the black tail flick happily, as if she had just heard the best news of the day. As Neph saw the panther's tail flick though, there was a flower under her. Gingerly, she bent over and picked up the materials, careful to not freak out the giant cat on accident.

So, here she was, with one material already and going out to hunt down the second. It didn't seem to be going too horribly, which was kind of nice really. The panther beside her seemed to be cheering up a little as she chirped when Neph had found the first material. So that was a new blessing, she didn't have to worry about her partner in crime being mad at her for doing the fetch quest that they were now stuck on. Nephthys looked around then, looking for the next best place to go and find a piece of material. She was wondering if they all had to be a flower like her profession, or if these ones were going to be different. She was probably just going to have to wait and see what pops out at her really. For now, she started walking to a new spot and mere moments later, she found another piece of material that was needed for her quest.

So, that now makes two pieces of material that she needs for this quest. This was going amazingly well. How did she get so lucky today, but not when she did her profession quest? That was the new found question in her mind, and it was probably in Bast's mind to as the panther looked at her and whistled in slight confusion. Well, that made both of them now fully confused about whatever it was that was going on around here for her luck. But, no reason to fight it right? Just go about her business and continue to collect the needed items for this quest, then go and see what else it was that she was going to need to do. But, still, the walk was boring and tedious, something that she wasn't enjoying. Glancing down at her feet, she noticed another materials and she plucked the flower from the ground and smiled. Another one down, two more to go.

It was amazing how fast she was finding her materials right now. The only bad part, she didn't pay attention to how deep into the wilds she was going while hunting for these materials. She turned around to look at the Town of Beginnings, only it wasn't there. There was nothing there but emptiness and trees. Well, that wasn't a good thing already now was it? She sighed as the turned around to start heading back. She figured that she would have to find something on her way back to the town after all. But that wasn't the thing that was stopping her from walking just now. Instead, she noticed that there was something at her feet and she bent over to pluck it from the ground once more. Look, just one material left to find, so perhaps her new course of action was the correct one after all. That was nice to know.

So, she was now down to needing one more material. How in the world did she get that lucky today? That was literally a stroke of luck actually, like who has ever gotten that lucky? She watched by her feet, mainly because that was where all of the other materials had been for the most part. So why shouldn't the final one be found there as well? It was just common sense her in own mind really, something that she was known to have some of. Not a lot, but some. Besides, who would have common sense to buy into a death game that literally was only selling a certain amount of copies? That was absurd, has any game in history ever actually done that? Now that Neph thought on it, no. That was strange. Oh hey look, another flower at her feet. With that, she plucked the final material that she needed and she smiled.

"Well Bast, that looks like all of it that we need. Time to head back to town and see about what the rest of this quest wants from us." The woman smiled as she petted the panther's head. The panther whistled low before switching to a purr. It was really interesting how the panther communicated with her sometimes. But it was something that Neph loved, and she was starting to learn the ways of what the panther was saying, without Bast having to actually say anything. It was a lovely little bond that the two of them had, such a bond that she was happy to be able to say that she had a panther as a best friend. Well, her only friend if you looked at it just right. That's the sad part, the panther was her only friend, and well, that was something that she wanted to fix, but didn't know how to.

But things were soon stopped when the pair ran into a boar. At first, it looked like the three things were going to be able to go about their business, no fighting necessary. But nope, the boar decided that he was going to attack Nephthys. Now, she took the attack, a head butt right to the chest, but she smirked when she watched the boar's health drop. That scared the thing. It started to run away from her, but she was faster, especially when she channeled Mighty Charge. Her spear head dug right into the boar when she made contact, and even lifted the boar into the air. But it never landed. Right there in the sky it turned to fragments from the lost health. She frowned though, she must be too high leveled for this floor now, because the boar didn't drop any loot for her. Well, that sucks.

She sighed at the fact that she got nothing, but oh well, that is what happens when you level up so quickly after all. "Whelp, let's go Bast. There is nothing here for us now. Besides, we have a quest to get finished after all." The panther chirped as she sprinted ahead for a moment. Neph sighed as she chased the giant cat down. The moment that Neph was beside Bast once more, it too her that moment to realize, she was lost. Great. She sighed as she looked around, trying to get a feeling on where they were currently. But, she didn't know what she was looking for as a way back to town. Sure, she had her map, but that would involve her knowing how to follow one. Sure, follow the marker. Cool, and what about those invisible walls and crap that like to pop up out of no where?

One would think that being able to follow a marker was easy. Sure, until this rock got in the way, or that forest was there but not on the map. Honestly, who designed these maps anyway? Because it wasn't working in her favor, and she could swear that she was listening to Bast chirping a laugh at her. "You know that you're lost with me right?" She looked down at the giant cat with a pointed glare. It wasn't a hateful one, but more of a playful 'be careful what you get yourself into' glare. She wasn't about to glare a bad glare at a giant panther, that was bad, and she knew better. Besides, Neph wasn't in the mood to become cat food after all, that sounded a bit painful, and not so fun. She had things that she wanted to get done. Oh hey! Aren't those the gates to town over there?

She didn't want to run, because knowing her luck, some developer will spawn an invisible wall right in front of her face. It was bound to happen at one point really. Let be honest, she can't even walk anywhere without getting lost, just look at her minutes before, lost in the wilds. She sighed and shook her head as she thought about this and she looked at Bast, "I really am hopeless aren't I Bast?" A rumbled chirp came from the panther, almost as if she was trying to cheer the spear wielder up. It kind of worked. "Thanks dear, now, we get back into town and find this shop, hopefully." The town is huge and a maze, she was going to get lost, there was no questioning it. How lost though, that was going to be the big question really. She was just going to have to wait and see.

Town seemed to be a bit busy, which wasn't horrible, she might be able to get someone to give her directions to where she wanted to go. Of course, that was if it wasn't mainly just rude players pushing past her, eliciting a growl from panther by her, or NPCs who just wanted her to buy their useless crap. Yeah, she was going to get lost, she could already tell, and she wasn't enjoying this little factor. But still, she kept walking, knowing that sooner or later, she was going to have to run into the shop at some time. By the way, did the developer's purposely making the beginning town a maze? It sure feels like it really. It's almost as if they are trying to get Nephthys ready for anything else that this game might try to throw at her. Okay, that was the belief that she as going to try to stick with, she didn't want to think that she was just horrible at directions.

She went down the wrong alley. She was looking around, but she instead found her own shop. She knew that she was no where near where Zakariah's shop was, so she sighed lightly as she walked past her store and shook her head at herself. This was just horrible. How has she gotten so lost? Eh, that didn't matter right now, she just needed to find her bearings, once more, to get to where she needed to go. She looked down at Bast, "You wouldn't know how to get us back to the main road would you darlin'?" She watched as the panther stopped for a moment, before she whined. Great, even the panther was crap at directions. This was going to be an extremely long day wasn't it? Between having to find her way to getting back to town, to now trying to find her way to the shop, she was bored and tired.

Well, after many, many turns, she and Bast have finally found themselves being back on the main road of the Town of Beginnings. That was a good start, now it was just finding the correct way to the shop that was going to be the hard part. Nephthys looked at the amount of people, it already died down. She looked up to see that the sun was starting to set. Wow, she had been so lost today that it was already sunset? No wonder the streets were starting to die down from the commotion. Hopefully, Zakariah was still going to have his shop open so that she could work on this quest. She would hate to have to stop for the night and get lost on her way back again. That would put a bit of a damper on things for sure. She wanted to get these quests done quickly, and that wasn't going to happen if she kept getting lost.

Okay, this alleyway seemed to be the right direction, or at least, that is what she thought at first. Walking down the alley, she soon figured out that she was wrong, again. She stopped and leaned against a building for a moment as she opened her map to be in full view of her vision. She needed to get to this damn shop, and being lost was not going to get her there. She finally figured out where she was and where she needed to go. Good, she pushed herself off of the wall that she was leaning against before she started to walk in the right direction. She looks around and followed the path that she had figured out when she rested. She was going to get to her destination, whether the game wanted her to or not. As she walked, she felt Bast push her around things, and that was when she realized that she still had her map open full view. Oops.

Oh look! That was the shop! She quickened her pace a bit, and managed to walk in right before the sun went down for the day. "Hey, I found the materials." Zakariah turned and looked at her and nodded, "Good, then it's time to start on our next part." She followed him when he beckoned her to follow him. She looked around the shop and saw that it was basically a jack of all trades, well, lucky him. She stopped just before she ran into the NPC though and she looked at Zakariah then the alchemy table in front of him. Oh good, her comfort zone. "Right, so, using those materials, I need you to make me a health potion." Wait, why was she making it? Couldn't he do it himself? She sighed as she sat down at the table. "Any particular quality or anything?" Zakariah thought for a moment before shaking his head, "Nope, just make me whatever you can."

Great, no need to feel any kind of pressure then, that was something that she liked really. So, with her focus going to the potion that she needed to create, she started to add the ingredients as she knew them to make the potion. She took her time on it, knowing that it was already dark, so who was going to be expecting her anywhere. That and she had a panther by her feet purring, as if the giant cat was trying to help her concentrate. With her leg, she rubbed Bast's side as a form of thanks as she looked back to the potion. Adding the last ingredient, she watched as the potion was made. She looked at the quality and she smiled lightly. Handing Zakriah the potion she watched his face, "Well, this is a perfect potion. Well done. I see that you already have a knack for the creation of potions."

"Yeah, I just happen to be a new alchemist." "Well, good for you." The NPC walked away for a moment, and Neph started to think on if she was just sarcastically told that by an NPC. Were they even programmed to know sarcasm? If not, this NPC was learning and that wasn't a good thing for the other new players when they would go to do this quest. Either way, Zakriah came back with a parcel in his hands before he handed it to her. "I need you to take this to the Blacksmith Lyle. He can be found here," oh hey look a new marker for her to get lost trying to get to, "he might even have something else that you ca help with if you stay to listen." She nodded, guess that was the hint for 'hey, you're not done yet'. She took the parcel though and she headed out the door.

The moment that she walked out of the shop, she took a wrong turn, of course. She noticed this about a mile after she walked in the wrong direction before she sighed and looked at Bast, "Perhaps I should be doing this with someone else. I keep getting lost." She still needed to go and get her spear anyways, her blacksmith had sent her a message while she had been crafting stating that it was ready for pickup. So this was not helping her any at all. She might just have to go and get that in the morning, that shop was probably closed anyways. Walking in a giant circle though, she managed to find her way to the blacksmith's shop, well, kind of. She knew that she was going in the right direction, that she could see the shop that she needed. She kept her pace though, and she continued to walk and think.
