[F1-PP] A Lesson from the Leader (First Lessons)

[Raidou 1]

A quick jaunt around the perimeter Raidou takes in his surroundings, the sun still high in the sky producing sufficent sunlight for clear visibility. The trees were far from the clearing he had taken to, leaving the others in clear sight from where he stood outside the canopy. Raidou couldn't help but keep an eye on the others, quietly intrigued at their progress while giving them the space to act of their own volitions. A glimmer finds his peripheral vision, when focused upon by a turn of his head yields the sight of a box trimmed in metal. Dark wood as per usual makeup of the boxes that he had found prior on this floor, as to make them closer in appearance to the surrounding pillars of similar colored material. Moving closer to obtain a closer inspection, Raidou takes special care as to not disturb it and keep the others within his gaze.

Gaius shrugs off Simmone's chuckles and chastising comments, trying to keep his cool and not be completely humiliated by the guy that made this look so damn easy. Shiina remarks something toward them both "Yeah, it's pretty damn impressive and sucks at the same time." Gaius remarks toward the girl, finding commonality with her in the statement. How was it this was so trivial for him but grueling for the rest, Gaius couldn't place the differences between Raidou's methods and his own that he stole from the nomad.

Keeping his eyes to the dust Gaius shouts to Shiina "Then I guess we just need to get this done, eh as to not waste away the day farming this crap." as his hands tore around through the patch, emulating the wanderer looking for the one piece that was mature in this section. Gaius feels as though he is going to pop a vein in his head with how intently he's concentrating trying to spot the difference.

Simmone despite the insistent threat of failure finds her mind wandering back to her store, wondering how the girls were fairing without her input for the time she was absent. It's a thought she'd never thought before, what they did when she was not present to oversee what they were performing. Looking to Gaius with a streamed commotion bleeding through her head she manages to snap back to where she was, replying to the guy "Agreed, let us wrap this up. I think I need to get back to my store sooner than later." Simmone had planned on sneaking her way back into the building, hoping to see what the NPC girls were doing while she was away.

Leaning into the harvest, Simmone manages another root of green leaves and a flash of purple adds it to her inventory with an update of the task she had yet to complete.

Simmone seems to be distracted but Gaius seemed fueled by the fact Raidou was already done with the first segment of the quest they were undertaking as a group. The response from Gaius is met by one from Shiina, with puffed out cheeks she says back "But I am not a farmer, I am a music~r..." The words hang on her mouth before she chooses to stick by what she had said "Yeah, I make music this is dumb." Shiina shouts in agreement with slight anger fueling her actions. Reaching to the soil and tearing one up "And Poof!" Shiina shows the herb half expecting it to burst into data the same as before. But this one stays, still in her clutches as her face turns from a frown to exuberant glee in an instant "Guys I got one!" A flash of bluish hued data as it joins the others in her inventory.

The others seemed fueled and exchanging words rather openly, Raidou was glad they appeared to be getting along fine. The distance, however, robbed him of the ability to make out what was being said, his attentions turned to the box he had found. Trimmed in iron and well concealed, Raidou gave the box a good once over to check if it had some sort of hidden hazard. After a minute or two of circling the container, deducing it was devoid of anything that was of detriment to him he moved to its opening device. Placing his hands where the lid met the base, slowly opening it and keeping an eye peeled for any abnormality. No response from the box in response to the caution as it opens without turmoil, Raidou peers in with his eyes finding some containers bags and the like. Raidou takes each that find its hearth inside before leaving the box to nature.

"Frankly I hardly consider myself a chef, and yet this is the third time I have been expected to pick plants. This blows hard." Gaius says back to Shiina who was sharing in his disdain of the activity they had been charged with an undertaking. Gaius's stomach starts to boil, his morning meal was burning down to cinders by this point and he was starting to become hungry once again. Looking back to Shiina "Let's get this over with huh, it can't be too much longer now if we keep at it." pulling one more root from the dirt which doesn't instantly implode in his hands and with a bit of a grin it flashes green into his inventory.

His eyes dart back down to the soil, scanning about as he shifts over in attempts to not press his luck too far by gathering in excess in one location for too often.

The pair seemed lively in sharing in their owned discomforts at the task they were asked to complete, Simmone silently shared the sentiment before she chose to speak as well. "You lot seem to be doing fine enough despite your claims of being ineffective at this." Simmone exclaimed as she removed a plant of her own, before adding "We have all been making steady strides toward completing this nonsense, and we should be done in no time to be sure."

Simmone meant them as words of reflection and encouragement, finding them relevant to not only the rest of her party but to herself as well. A flash of purple energy shows the addition of another material for the quest she was on to the tab she was accruing at quite the pace in comparison. She couldn't help but wonder however how Raidou had done what he had in such succession and speed.

Simmone made a note to explain to the girl that they were doing fine. Shiina could not help but take note of her own abilities upon Simmone's explanation drawing attention to her successes. Scanning her HUD and taking note of the quantity on the side, it shows back a resounding 3 of 5. Shiina starts to breathe heavily at the prospect of her inbound completion, leaning into the dirt with both hands and parading through the soil hoping to zone in on another to add to the respective count. After a moment of shifting around and scooping the materials about Shiina sets her sights on one and retracts it holding it on her palm. The material remains intact in her fingertips, adding another unit to the counter in a blue flash matched with a grin that widens even further on her lips from the trail coming up to meet her.

Shiina seemed to flutter about due to Simmone's words as they both claimed another material and Gaius couldn't help but check his own HUD. He was at 3 of 5 as well, Gaius had unknowingly been progressing much faster than he had perceived. This lit a fire in his mind, how could have been so blind? Gaius started to feverishly dig around in the dirt in large clumps of the stuff alongside Shiina, equally excited at the idea of finishing up this gardening trip as quickly as possible and going to grab some grub afterward. Gaius began to recall the last unit of this quest, the crafting of potions via Zackariah's tutelage. But that task was much easier than harvesting the materials that were needed to do as much. Given a newfound determination to put this job to rest and eat a good meal was on Gaius's mind first and foremost.

With a smile that found her lips at the principle shared with the other two, Simmone could not help but watch them scour feverously like creatures in the grass. It was a sight to behold them both diving headfirst into the dirt, being covered in the stuff as they really immersed themselves into the task they were given in an aggressive display of tearing away. So entrapped by the display Simmone stayed her hands in full, unable to break her gaze at the show as it was far more entertaining then what she was doing. Her count moves not, as with a chuckle Simmone cannot help but just watch her guildmates playing in the dirt like children.

"You all are going to be so filthy when you are done," Simmone exclaimed in an explanation to the pair, struggling to keep her elegant and refined demeanor which threatened to shatter at any moment.

In her dishevelling of the soil, causing the ground to become almost tilled in her wake Shiina has a hard time picking through the wreckage. Gaius seemed to join her endeavor and was an equal farming implement. Shiina found herself covered in tufts of grass and dirt, it found her hair and coated the inside of her fingernails something fierce. Simmone made a note to comment on her and Gaius's states covered in the earth, presumably drowned in the matter. "Yeah!?" Shiina shouted toward Simmone in a very what about it kind of body language as she vaults to her feet.

Not paying too much mind to Simmone, instead choosing to take a deep breath and dive back into the mess the pair had made. Shiina began again tossing clumps of dirt and grass over her shoulder looking for that next big score. How much longer could it be, if she kept at this pace?

Gaius finds himself a place near Shiina, covered in more of the same filth as she was. Simmone shot daggers from her face, attempting to discourage Gaius from his actions. Replying with a hasty "What of it, your laughing now but just you wait when your still sitting there trying when we are done." Gaius was convinced this was the best course of action. Both he and Shiina were making significant progress by really getting in there, just wading in the dirt with no care for how dirty they were getting. Farmers got dirty and made bank Gaius thought with another echoing phrase in his mind Be like farmer, get more plants To Gaius this reasoning was sound, sound enough to continue his tyrant destruction of the ground beneath him.

Scattering around in the dirt, Gaius retracts some peculiar looking plant. Convinced this was one and the last he needed, a cheer and a pat of his chest with a cough. "I'm done~" Gaius remarked with a slight musical tone to the phrase before he found a place to park his rear on a rounded stone. Withdrawing a small roll of bread Gaius aimed to sate that appetite.

Gaius and Shiina kept at it getting more and more covered in filth and a few words from Gaius before he takes a seat. Simmone cannot help but take notice, after such a claim made by him moments before finishing his quest flag. "Really, It works that well." Simmone whispers looking on to Shiina who was still hard at work in the soil, a slight inkling of disbelief playing through her dome. Her eyes then scan to the soil she was sifting through, with the bit of grime on her palms and fingertips.

Simmone was fighting with inner turmoil, on one hand Gaius could be right but on the other, she could not bring herself to submerge herself as the others were. Hanging her head with the reluctance, a fight ringing in her mind internally trying to convince herself to partake of the same level of filth as the rest.

Simmone seemed to be paying more attention than previously and Shiina caught wind of this from her position, looking up from her excavation with a bit of dirt smeared to her cheek. Her interest peaked peering toward Simmone she started to speak to the woman "How many you got?" Shiina asked her from her pile of displaced soil, halting her progress through the dust.

Gaius was nowhere to be seen Shiina now noticed that he had taken to a stone, digging into some food from his inventory he must have made now recalling and processing the fact he was a cook. Her stomach then coined to the first acknowledgment, finally remembering she had forgotten to eat something before setting out on this journey. A grumble falls from her mouth in her discomfort, coming to the realization she should finish this up and go grab some grub sooner rather than later.

Shiina was truly covered from head to toe with soot, it was a sight to behold and Simmone was having trouble keeping a straight face at such. A query from Shiina sparked a reply from the black lotus, who wrapped her hair around her ear subtly wiping a bit of the filth from her hand to the rim of her lobe. The reply let loose from her lips toward the small songstress "With this one." as she pulls another from the earth turning it over in her palm "Makes four of the five I need. You little one?" Simmone inquired with a follow up "And how is that shop of yours fairing?" A bit bored with this current affair and choosing to broaden the scope a bit to more intriguing matters. This job was as tedious as it was drab, excruciatingly so and getting down and dirty wasn't quite in Simmone's wheelhouse.

Passing a finger into a point toward her face, in an honest question "Mine? It's doing K I think." Shiina pauses with the declaration before continuing her explanation of the subject "But It's much harder than I expected, I think I need to get an instrument to make it a bit easier to perform." Shiina thought out loud, as she was making steady progress she believed although she found herself taking a breather and staying in the tavern a couple of nights to clear her noggin and get a better footing in writing her next big piece. Shiina's thoughts began to trail off into music scores, a silent hum with a vague rumble playing in tandem to her as she started to work mentally through the rhythm and commit what sounded correct to her memory to jaunt down later. Shiina was now lost in her own world, mindlessly digging about with a subtle tune falling from her vocal cords.

"An instrument you say." Simmone had not thought about it prior but was it possible to get instruments in this game? An interesting premise to be sure, one that she made a note to look into further, possibly even selling such wares out of her store if possible. Shiina began to hum a tune, seeming to get lost in her own little world to which Simmone acknowledged and let her be. A musician to the end the little one was and Simmone was interested in seeing where her path took her after the ordeal they had to overcome in her earning a living where an unnatural storm claimed the sky that day.

In her silence Simmone manages to claim her last unit of material, adding it to her inventory in a flash of violet with her quest tag jumping to the next stage but made not a sound in hopes to allow Shiina to continue. On her face, a subtle smile in the enjoyment of her company including the idiot devouring a meal on the rocks about them.

The tune from the child continues outward in subtle crescendos as she works mentally on the script eager to find the breakthrough she was after. After all only perfection would do, Shiina wouldn't compromise on a subpar piece of scripture. Her hands don't halt or cease movement however, gardening with to the beat of a vocal song before one she picks clean stays in her grasp. The ones she was removing almost rhythmically self-destructing with each note before this, this very one doesn't as if someone hit pause on the record. Shiina's eyes light up and she leaps to her feet, carrying the last one overhead before yelling "YAS!" to all that could hear. A flash of greyed blue before it enters her inventory and progresses the girl further through the job.

"I AM DONE!" Shiina shouts after such a display, looking toward Simmone and Gaius hoping they were ready to get this show on the road!

"Alright!" Gaius shouts shortly after the girl's decree, moving to her side and giving her a high five sharing in the revelry with his teammate. His eyes then turned to Simmone as she was standing up, tapping her hands together in a show of her own completion. "Well then let's get our red clad boy and be on our merry way shall we?" Gaius dictated with a grin plastered on his mouth, scanning the area for Raidou in attempts to see where he had wandered.

Cupping his mouth with his hands and shouting out toward the canopy he had trailed into: "Dude, we're done you can come out now."

No answer but a few birds that seemed startled from the verbal outburst, scattering from the trees in fright as fast as their wings could carry them that caused leaves to fall and be carried by a gentle breeze. Looking back to the others, Gaius shrugs.

[Raidou 1]

Raidou was watching silently just out of sight in the tree line, and although they were running through a mix of emotions it seemed as though the group had prevailed without his instruction. He was glad of the fact, they could act together without his input meaning they could be an effective team in his absence and was all that he could ask of them. Stepping clear of the position he was obscured in, his brilliant red carrying his presence outside this cover Raidou shouts back "Good, then we head back. Let's get this finished then shall we?" as his yell became more of a talk while he closed the distance between him and the others.

Heading back into the walls of the city, hoping the others were in tow and were as eager as he to complete this task. Raidou entered the small shop of Zackariah who snapped his attention to the door upon entry with a reply "Your back! and you've got them?"

Raidou simply nods and then a subtle response "Indeed, what would you have me do next?"

Zackariah points him to the apparatus that littered the area, before a response: "Take those materials, and try your hand at alchemy."

Raidou for one of the few real times in his life in the presence of another, his mouth curled to a smile before he says "Stand back, I am about to blow your mind." Adjusting his glasses on his nose.
