Akaiko 0 Posted April 9, 2020 #1 Share Posted April 9, 2020 <<The First Few Lessons Are Free>> Players buzzed around the shop like bees to a hive. Guess some things never change, Akaiko thought to herself, a grin spreading across her flushed face. You could always spot the beginner quests from the small crowds that gathered neat the NPC. Hell, if this were anything like the MMOs she was used to, someone was probably trying to tea-bagging the quest-giver, or jumping around aimlessly, or casting spells for no reason, or- well, no. There were no spells in Aincrad. And fortunately, there was no air-humping taking place. Apparently, full-dive technology prevented some of the less savory activities. It would be a little weird to be doing virtual burpees here in Sword Art Online, when everything was so real. The grumbles, the shoving, and the annoyance were real too, as Kai maneuvered her way into the NPC's shop. It was ridiculous, really. After so many years stuck in the game, why were there so many noobs picking up this quest? Why did they all wait until this exact moment? Wait, did that make her a noob? Regardless, Kai beamed at the bearded man when he offered her a small wave. "Yo!" she greeted, striding toward him in her knee-high boots with her ice-pick heels. If Zakariah took issue with her attire, he gave no indication. A few other players in the shop shifted away from her - probably intimidated. She got that a lot. "Greetings!" The old man's voice was low and gravely, and reminded her a bit of Dumbledore's. "Welcome to my shop. Are you a new adventurer?" "Bet your ass!" Blinking at the sudden exclamation, Kai smiled sheepishly. "My bad. I mean, yeah, I am." Ry_Burst 0 Posted April 9, 2020 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2020 (edited) RyBurst gave a smile, as he looked up at the artificial sun. How long had he been here? In this death game? Far too long. Sitting under the shade of this tree relaxing? Currently, he was going on an hour straight, but he spent so much of his time during this death game in this place. It was a relaxing spot. He hadn't really had any reason to go out and try to clear the game compared to others. He just was here to escape his parents. And every day that ticked by here in the virtual world, that was less time he would spend dealing with them. But today was special for him. He had a goal in mind. He would make some progress. Sure, dying would suck. But then again there was the chance to explore more of this crazy virtual world. He was totally down with that. He stood up and looked down at himself. He was dressed in his new armor and looked at the locket around his neck. The armor itself was cloth armor, with the purpose of being light. He didn't feel like dying, so he chose to lean towards a DPS battle style. So he could be quick to flee if he needed to. No use dying due to overexerting himself. Fleeing was a much better option if it came to it. He had met a few people who had offered up this new gear, so he was lucky enough. People were willing to support those who wanted to help clear the game. Or maybe they just didn't want to think that someone died because they hadn't offered them help. He wore a mixture of a pastel yellow, brown and black to give himself, as he felt, a pretty awesome look. And strapped to his side was his current pride and joy. It was a beautiful katana crafted for him, with matching colors. It was a pretty rad sword and he was appreciative of it. He walked down with intent on his face. He had a goal. He was going to complete an early-game quest. However, then again. He also needed to be logical. He probably wanted to team up with some people to help early on. Support in a fight would be good and increased his chances of coming out alive. Hopefully, he could party with a bunch of pretty girls. The boy gave a dorky grin at the thought. He kept his head up high and shoulders out with pride as he marched along through town. His target was the NPC Shop, for beginner quests. The crowd of people around the shop gave it away. Why was it always so busy? Welp, it was too late to put things off any longer. RyBurst wiggled his way through the crowd, to make his way towards the front of the shop to speak to the NPC. Speaking to the grey-bearded man was a pretty girl in knee-high boots and heels. People seemed to give her space, maybe they were scared, intimidated? That was totally his type. He listened to her as she was so flamboyant with her answer, RyBurst thought his heart skipped a beat. He was in love. This mindset wasn't new to the teen. He had this habit of falling for most pretty girls he ran into. His weakness is and will always be, pretty girls. But then a thought wiggled into his head. What if she was going in alone? Could she be at risk of death? He couldn't allow that to happen. No way! He had to tag along. He stepped up beside her and gave a warm smile. "Are you about to start an early-game quest? Mind if I tag along? I'm a new adventurer new and I gotta make progress. Better doing it in a group for safety, ya know. Oh, and by the way. You can call me RyBurst. Or Ry if you want. It's up to you." He gave a chuckle and offered the girl a handshake, and did his best to show off confidence. He desperately wanted to seem cool in front of this girl. Plus, if they teamed up. Completing a quest would be way easier.
