[F21-SP][E3] A Routine Harvest - (Natures Treasure){Yui's 2}

A pull of white sheeted paper across the red wooden table, the remnants of a meal lay dormant on a white platter with a silver utensil. The sounds of a hastily moving pen over a blank one, with the reflection of candlelight ricocheting off the glass that shields his eyes from view. Another plan to be sure, some calculations drew quickly before the flash of insight fades away and is forgotten. Raidou became painfully aware that it was pressing back to the time he would need to set out again, for the vault was in a constant ever changing state of empty and full and he would need to stay on top of it to keep the cogs in motion. Pulling the red sheet of cloth from its fold on the platform and flutter around his shoulders with a clip latching it to his person, he makes for Tolbana village.

A flash of blue energy from the settlement that finds a place on the same slab of the earth the guild hall he is responsible for is set. The warp gate powers down as his feet feel the gravity and impact, followed by the sulfurous and earthen smells of Tolbana village upon which he was becoming very familiar due to visiting it nearly every day. As soon as his shoes touch stone, he began the journey in the sunless catacomb of luminous light being cast from a crystallized glass on the walls. Through a billowing thick yellow fog, his hand drawing his cloak to his mouth and filtering away to some effect the hazardous fog back to his hidden alcove he'd found with hairs of blue and pink prior. Going prone and shifting himself through the opening hidden under the smog, Raidou's eyes meet the familiar sight of the nutrient rich grotto.

The plant patch located in the center was a bright red today, filled to the brim with crimson leaved Blood Boosters ideal for the creation of healing potions or the like. They would pair nicely with the golden thread he had procured in a prior harvest, once he had a moment to move back to hermits hermetics and do such a concoction. A very place for which the swordsman found solace from Aincrads pressure and humanities prying eyes. A rest if you will from hardship and a place of comfort among the lines of glass and scents of bunsen burner gas. Raidou leaned in with the ideas of what he could make with such a harvest while he got to work, his hands trailing over the top of the protruding leaf stocks with a brush of his fingers. A few respond to the contact with a slight golden glimmer to show maturity.

They continue to glimmer with gold as he mills about in the patch of red and pulls free with the break of roots that somehow find their way through the stone underneath them to soak up the moisture and nutrients they need to flourish. They commune into a small pile to his left, his methods seeming to always be the same showing a routine extraction of them is almost second nature to the nomad now. As it should be given how often he partakes of such affairs, and his skills reflected this in how his gathering skills were maxed out by this point. 

With a final pull of what lay here and the unhinging of his belt satchel, he starts to add them in a chary pace, to avoid harming them upon placing them inside the bag. It would be a shame to come all this way and leave with damaged goods.

A quick tap of his legs and hands to knock free the filth that had found itself lodged to his appendages in a fruitless display he could not help but subconsciously perform in tedium at the successful obtaining of each node. Raidou hadn't even noticed he was doing this every time or how pointless it was to do given he would be dirty again at the next one. 

To another type 

Raidou thought to himself, his eyes moving along the cavern to look for another to yield from. With a moment or two looking at the areas these nodes tend to manifest at, Raidou finds a few reflections of light shining like beacons from the uneven rock wall. The very same he had spent so many days plucking uncut gems from, and strangely there never was pebble piles where he performed such actions. With a retract of his blade, he started the procedure.

Each fell to the rough floor with a resounding impact, Raidou kept his pace with each as it dropped. Time, after all, was of the essence, and if he hoped to make the most of the day he would have to keep his movements quick and methodical if he hoped to clear today's agenda. A couple of emeralds now created a collection at his toes, misshapen and worthless in this state despite their beauty. Kasumi would make use of them however and although she wouldn't understand the gravity or where such things came from Raidou was more than content offering them to her. After all, this was his cousin, and despite the fact she shouldn't have come in the first place into this hell hole at the very least Raidou had at least a couple people upon he could relate to. He had not thought about how much it meant to him, the unspoken words.

Picking the pile up and moving it to his possessions with the flutter of a linen bag he brought for them specifically, the procedure calling for segregation of each category to prevent them from harming one another in travel or storage. Meticulous and routine were words to describe his actions, showing his experience and age along with his intelligence turning something that could very well be difficult to something trivial and second nature. This resource had a dozen or so lining a bag at this point, Raidou content with this yield enough to move to the next. A quick purvey for materials shows back a spherical outcropping with blackish lines splintering through it like rivers on a map. Raidou unsheathes his blade and as before uses it as a sledgehammer to break it to pieces, the impact bouncing audibly on the walls around him. Sheathing his blade he kneels to start retrieval.

The color is laden within a dark almost purple hidden inside the spheres of mostly a grayish rough stone.  It looked almost like purple food coloring or something to that effect in a heavy concentration and the pieces where a bit on the heavier side in comparison than most that he had harvested. A few underhanded tosses of the more inert sort to clear them from the ones rich enough to be refined by the guild blacksmith. Raidou could not help but feel an inclination of advancement as the guild vault was being fulled at a resounding rate much quicker than it was being emptied as of late, his actons were starting to keep up with the consumption and building a girth of stock within its walls. For how long if he decided to take a day's rest was debatable however and was not about to take what he had for granted.

A finish of the successful retrieval of purple mineral laced stone allowed a progression to the next in tandem, which would have to be gemstones given he still was rather fueled with energy and this task tended to fall more on the heavy end of the spectrum when it came to the expenditure of energy. Withdrawing his blade from its sheath and taking to a wall he finds in a quick scan littered with the familiar and almost beacon like glimmer of precious stones that lay dormant barely visible on its surface. Adjusting his spectacles onto his face with care as they try to slip down the bridge of his nose or else in the attack they may fly free and god forbid trying to find them in this lighting. He had already lost one pair of glasses due to a failure, best not lose another for a lack of caution.

A quick pivot with a crash of steel on stone breaks loose quite the bulk of the wreckage, opting for the more aggressive sort of milling through a pile of stone then attempting to pry them out individually this time around, given how much he had spent in some of his prior harvests he aimed to beat exhaustion before it set in. Picking through rubble although tedious was much less physically demanding than holding a heavy weapon and using it to pry them out, Raidou begins to shift them about with the point of the blade to get a sense if he had extracted what the wall had, and after a bit of milling through spots quite a number of sparkles that confirm the fact. Sheathing his blade and kneeling down over the top of the pile he digs in and sets to work aiming to get a jump on it given it would take more time this way.

It does not take to awful long given his abilities did not allow them to, A keen sight and rapid movement easily displacing the lot into segregation. A pile of stones and a decent handful of jewels to boot, being easily reformed by an artisan to trinkets rings and baubles. Collecting the successful yield into his grasp with both hands and leaving the stone where it fell, Raidou moves the precious material to its spot in his standardized method to which he refers often enough for it to come second nature in a subconscious flow. This beckoned him onto the following task, with the completion of this one being now under his belt.

The next task being either tailoring weaves or foodstuffs, both of which should not demand too much energy unless he was forced into harvesting spider webbing instead of bolts by the cardinal today which he hoped silently this was not the case.

Webbing it would have to suffice however given there was no box present today and Raidou could not help but sigh at this fact. Withdrawing his blade and doing his best to carry it above his frame he sets to work. With a slight pivot of the point, it begins to wrap around the edge, balling around as an audible snapping from the surrounding stalactite that hung from the ceiling allowed them free. With this it shrunk and began to cling to itself in a spherical shape on the end of the metal rod Raidou had held upward, taking to a flattened highrise that is offered underneath his feet although a bit precarious to position oneself on given its surface area. It doesn't matter as Raidou places an open left on a stalagmite around him to brace and allow stability while he continues to exert quite the effort to do his best and supply Setsuna.

This action seems to be taking longer than usual as if the cardinal system was resisting his efforts but it mattered little to him, with a grit of his teeth and his arm shaking a bit from the sheer strength that it was demanding he keeps it raised as a static shock of electricity fires through his system. "Just a bit more!" Raidou shouts fighting back and fueling his fire in an aggressive snap. After all, this was for a purpose and he would accept nothing less than a bountiful gain. Another wipe of the webbing into a rag which is then balled up and tossed to his robe, there remained a fair amount of the stuff in the crevice it was packed within and until it was all gone or he had a fair amount of it the shocking pain would have to wait its turn before he allowed it to halt progress.

A bit more fight and a couple of drops of the blade to the stone flooring in a flash of sparks show his energy was waning, but after each fall the blade raises again not allowing it to stop him. Sweat begins to break from the pores on his brow, lining his back underneath his armor forcing it to cling to him like a wet napkin breeding some added discomfort. Another batch removed and pressed into linen wraps and then tossed to the mass that was forming on his tarp placed loosely in the center of the grotto in a luminous red that was hard to mistake, like a glowing red target for the ball to land and soften the impact. Leaning deeper and pushing the black star even higher with a foot now placed against the column of stone that jutted from the floor for balancing this more drastic action.

This gambit works as the edge finally connects with stone behind the cabling network of white, a solid thunk as the point rubs against the stone that was hidden underneath and Raidou grabs the handle with both hands and begins to spin it like a spool. This causes what remained to begin to pool around the blade in mass like spaghetti on a fork, so large in fact that once completed it adds a fair amount of weight to the already heavy sword and Raidou is forced to use more than a few rags to wipe it free from the edge of the blade. He silently hoped that given the mass it would be capable of storage, but he had been wrong before as the bags he had seemed to allow such things. Strange things they were, these bags that were given in bulk by Simmone having a weird ability to shove quite the load into them.

Hopping down and fighting his blade into its holster, Raidou was happy to have finished before he could no longer hold the sword. Taking a seat and allowing breath and recovery, the nomad recoups his loses with a wipe of his sleeve on his forehead to remove the now forming liquid that attempted an attack on his eyes. Removing his glasses and wiping the fog that was starting to condense on the lenses to keep his sight, replacing them and looking about he just needed recording crystals and foodstuffs now. A few more minutes of rest he regains his strength before he takes a quick glance around looking for foodstuffs hopefully that would not fight him too harshly. A quick lunge with a push of his hands stands him up, and he takes to the moisturized moss covered stone that water from above seemed to force growth upon its surface.

A wave of his open hand causes the small fauna to scatter that take the shape of small cavern lizards of lime green scales, who do not take kindly to his intrusion. They hiss in a very minute way that almost sounds like running water from a tap, before scattering along the walls with sticky appendage and vanishing between cracks in the wall and ceiling. A few of the mushrooms to which they had been nibbling on Raidou leaves, the ones that had not become a snack for these serpents he begins to pluck from the stone, hunting the stock with his fingertips and breaking it at the base. This method is repeated in excess with each unit, red and light tan mushrooms begin to pile in his off hand as he adds more and more to it. Being of a softer sort Raidou does not allow them to escape.

Taking the form of every so often a trip to the tarp and offloading what he had, and after a while the moss stone only has the lizard food remaining and Raidou leaves these morsels for the occupants of the cave to have. This leaves only recording crystals left to claim, Raidou taking note of the fact with a glance to the robe laid in a bright red square having 5 piles of different resources in clumps with a distance between. The robe proved more and more useful as time pressed on, against the elements, in defense of himself and another and now as a way to protect his yields from the rougher terrain. The girl who had woven it may not even know the kind of service it served, but Raidou would never stop wearing it given the sentiment and how much it had seen him through quite the most difficult times.

The sidetrack breaks as Raidou snaps back into his mind space after an inadvertent journey to the past.

"Recording crystals" Raidou whispers in a soft tone, shaking his head and regaining his composure. A bloom lay ten or so feet from him, as customary of Recording crystals they took a center of attention creating a beacon of light as they refracted any and all light shown on them in a flower like pattern that fired out from a stone they grew from. Raidou moved to the lot and began the procedure rocking them subtly until they gave enough for him to slide away, using both hands when they would give an added measure against dropping them lest they shatter on the rock floor beneath him. It does not take long given it seemed as though the cardinal system had only sprouted a few of them today and the count would have to suffice given he had no other option.

Packing up what he had into small sacks Raidou prepared to leave, tying them to his belt in a routine fit for him with caution and methodical execution that was becoming his own. Lastly his robe to his shoulders finalized the trip to floor 21 today, and a quick scan of his environment showed back no concealed containers today. Raidou could not help but feel as though cardinal was acting a bit aggressive today, as the day's job seemed more turbulent than usual as it fought him at every turn. This would not discourage his return, in retrospect, it only hardens his resolve for escape.

Sliding through the opening with a raise of his cloak to his mouth, Raidou exits the toxic fumes back toward Tolbana village. First to the board to round out the completion of the quest he had undertaken, then to the warp gate that bends reality until he finds his way home, to the guild hall and dropping his resources claimed to wooden shelving.
