On floor six was where Yuki came to. She had heard about a rather easy quest around this area in a river. That was about the total of what she knew about the quest though. It didn't take her long to find the river, thankfully. So she started to follow the stream upward until she found whatever would start the quest.

The sound of humming slowly started to feel the air. Wait, humming? That wasn't Yuki. The girl stopped and listened. Whoever was making that sound was further up the stream and not much further. The lull of their hum continued, pulling Yuki further and further until she reached a quiet waterfall. No one was to be seen, however. Several stepping stone sat in the water, like in those ninja animes where the protagonist would sit under the water for endurance training.

She wondered what it would be like to do that, but none of the rocks were in that good of a spot. Nevertheless, she stepped out on to the rocks and took a seat. The calm air filled with mist slowly began to lull her into some relaxing hypnotic trance.

Description:

A slab of beef cooked adequately to lock in the flavor seems to subtly become rarer or more cooked depending on the person’s preferences. Strange but good none the less, filling and makes you feel manly.

When the paladin came through, she was in a blank white, empty space with absolutely nothing in sight but the brightness of the hue-less horizon. Was she dead? Did the game teleport her somewhere? This had to be the quest people had told her about. As she was beginning to think she was actually dead, the humming, louder than ever, started up behind her. The source of the sound was a human figure that appeared to be a three dimensional shadow. It's smile unnerved her, unlike her own.

It's arm raised to her, then pointed at some door behind her. Japanese symbols were written on them, the one on the forth-most left was drawn in a red tint. When the figure gestured to the doors behind it, it faded into the floor and left her alone. Yuki quietly approached the door marked in red after trying one of the others to find they were locked. The symbol was marked with the Japanese symbol for 'Winter'. The knob turned and the door swung open for her. She took a step inside.

Her bedroom. She was in her bed room in the real world. The window showed her view of the neighbors house. Did she...Did she escape the- No she wouldn't be here if that happened, don't be stupid.

She walked into the room, looking around for what was different. The only noticeable thing was the lump in the cover of her bed. Someone was in it.

"Oi, dare ka?" She asked for them to identify themselves. It took a moment, but soon they - or she - crawled out of bed. It was her, just like in the gemini. The woman said nothing, but brandished a similar looking weapon to the one in her hand. Looks like she was getting another fight with herself, cool.

The both of them swung their weapons. Hers hit first, also tearing through the walls and knocking posters to the floor. The doppelganger reeled back from her damage. She was dealing more than usual from the food that she had eat prior, but it looks like this would take a few rounds of combat to finish.

The two stood silently apart from each other momentarily, sizing each other up. Yuki watched her opponent's sword hand, when the grip on it tightened, she moved. The weapon was deflected to the side and she made her attack, but it wasn't as accurate as she had hoped. The bladed point of the lance embedded itself into the wall, losing its pink hue as it became lodged.

Yuki wondered how she what was going to be after this, since there was three other doors to enter. Were there going to be stronger versions of her through the other doors, or did something else await her? Well, first she had to kill herself, again, and then move back into the next door. This was going to be a long quest, she could feel it already.

The paladin readied herself for the copies next move. She had to stay focused on what was in front of her, even if it won't kill her easily.

The doppelganger rushed her this time, reaching forward with golden, white lance to impale their foe. Yuki was too good of a tank after training with her friend Shield though. She parried the decisive strike to the side and butted the doppelganger to the side. It wasn't difficult to charge up another one of her Sword Arts and slash the copy girl across her chest. She was sent onto her back to scramble back up to her feet.

Yuki was in another situation like with the Gemini. She was way too strong for the quest itself and just breezing through it so far. Thankfully the doppelganger here was a bit tougher and lasted longer than a single attack. It wouldn't be fun if she just destroyed them with a single strike every time. When the girl was back to her feet, Yuki readied herself for the copy's next aggressive attack.

The two had a short stare down before the combat continued. Yuki was getting a bit impatient though, and was ready to finish this. She charged in with her lance glowing pink and jammed the edged blade into the copy's side. They took it rather well that time though, and slammed the duplicate weapon into her side in response. Yuki grinned as though the fight was in her bag. Though, the duplicate of herself had landed a critical attack on her, so thorns would not finish them off.

She backed off quickly and made some distance. She would just need to wait until the bleed hit them again to finish them off. No need to waste anymore energy on this demon, as she was sure that she would meet more through the next few doors. She wondered if the next few demons she fought would just be copies of herself again. That would be kind boring.

The battle was drawing to a close. The doppelganger's HP bar had been rendered to the red. It's cringed in pain from the wounds it had suffered but Yuki didn't have much remorse for what she knew was just a spirit trying to claw at her. She was stronger than that. 

Her white and gold lance over took the room with a pink hue once more and it pierced directly through the chest of her enemy, completely impaling the copy of Yuki and soon it became distorted. It's HP fell to zero and it exploded into nothing but a cloud of blue polygons. The area around her faded into white again. The first door she had walked through disappeared, and now the next one was worded with red: Spring. She walked through the door.

The room looked like floor twenty-one. Yuki looked at her feet- She was standing on water?! No wait, this was familiar. This is where she met Shield while doing that Nature's treasure. She could see herself in her own reflection, and the slowly approaching figure behind her. It raised a weapon behind her and she quickly spun around and deflected it with her lance.

It was Shield, or was it really? He didn't have a cursor so it was either an NPC, or worse, an enemy. The woman looked at him with shifty eyes. "What are you doing, have you gone mad?" She asked keeping her weapon at the ready. It seemed mock something she remembered him saying to her clearly.

"Aincrad is depending on us tanks. Stand up and do something about it." The context of those two sentences had been taken out of tune, but they pierced her heart deeper than any sword.

Shield raised his sword, something that Yuki wasn't even sure if the real Shield even owned. After landing the attack on him as they clashed, she could see that his armor wasn't quite what it was when she punched him in the face. Should she even attempt to make conversation with it? It would probably just repeat something in her memory if she tried. 

"I have made up my mind Shield. Whether not I am strong, I'll continue to get stronger and maybe one day tank with you on the front line." The only thing that he responded with was a sword swinging for her chest. She deflected the weapon with her spear and activated her Maiming Blow sword art, piercing into his chest. "You're not going to stop me, fake Shield. No one is going to stop me from getting stronger. I want to - I will -  see my family again."

Yuki watched him closely. She knew this was all deception. This quest was meant to make her think about her choices in life and pitting her up against her own doubts and regrets. Did she still have some doubt about her strength that she needed to work out before she could move on? Well, whatever that was she would bash it over the head and destroy it.

With another sword art, the girl took her blade and rammed it though the fake-Shield's chest leaving a giant red hole in his chest. Yuki removed the golden land from his body and parried another weapon away from her. If this were actually Shield, she would have been dead in seconds. She didn't want to think about how hard this would be if the game copied his exact stats over to here. This really wouldn't be going well for her if that were the case.
