[F21-PP] {E3} A Conversation with my Guild Master...I Hope! (Nature's Treasure Quest)

After a long exhausting day of the quest she just completed yesterday, Eruda awakes to a nightmare. Sitting up in her cot she has laying across her shop floor, Eruda moves to sit against a wall. Placing her head against the hard surface stuck in the thought of forever being alone if she can not break past her fears of talking to people. No matter how Eruda feels she knows that something has to give. Eruda realizes that she can't have a better life with actually taking the steps to do so. Opening her HUD, scrolling through till she hits her friends list. Staring now at Raidou's name as a small tear falls down her face and her hand begins to shake a bit. "I hope I can do this. I need to do this" Eruda says silently as she pressed a finger against Raidou's name to send a message that says "We need to talk. Meet me where we first met and I will try my best to explain." It takes a minute to send it for she really didn't want to but knew that she had to.

[Raidou 1]

A shift of his hands in his hidden alcove with the rustle of papers across a redwood table, the remnants of a meal lay dormant mostly eaten upon a surface of white porcelain with Raidou's day about to come to an open. A notification is abnormally drawn across his HUD, its content dismissed as nothing more than I trick on his mind that Raidou cannot begin to process as a reality more than just a figment. Adjusting the frames to his face, choking out a pressing distraction that seemed to be boiling in his chest a reply he sends in an attempt to quench the feeling as a dismissal:

"Sure, meet me on floor 21 I have a lot to do today. Tolbana Village." he sends assuming that perhaps the day would either leave this response in its wake with nothing more to come of it or possibly it would turn to another specter of his past to appear like a haunt of what had not happened. It mattered little as he could not afford to wallow or ponder on such things for time was not something he could squander.

Dropping the empty platter to a basin of water, allowing it to settle and soften for washing later. Raidou peels his robe from the back of his chair, a flourish around his frame and adhering it to his neck to prepare for the journey ahead, time was of the essence and he hoped to get the drop on it before those that would hinder progress proved active. A flash of blue energy of the warp gate in the settlement nearby removed him to Tolbana Village.

[Eruda 0]

Eruda sitting silently on the floors of her shop, head tilted back against the wall with her eyes closed thinking how badly she screwed up awaiting nervously for a response that might not even show up. Minutes that seemed like hours in her state of mind pass before a ping of her HUD causes her eyes to flash open quickly. Afraid of what it might say, Eruda opens her HUD and stares at the message notification from Raidou. Unintentional drops of water begin to blur her vision as she opens it with an unsteady hand. Reading the message, Eruda wipes the tears and gets to her feet. Closing her HUD swiftly, Eruda gathers her things with haste. Meanwhile, Eruda feels like she is burning up and that her chest would burst at any moment given the chance. Putting a hand on the handle of her door, she stops dead. "I can do this. Even if he is mad at me at the very least I can say that I tried." Eruda slowly turns the knob as she tries to calm herself with slow deep breaths that seem to be faster than she wanted.

Opening her door and locking her shop behind her, Eruda moves as fast as her feet would allow her. While walking Eruda notices that she never changed or fixed her hair from sleeping. Knowing that if she didn't go now, that she wouldn't have the nerve to face Raidou, Eruda ignores it for now. As her feet touch the warp gate Eruda calls out silently "Floor 21" as her body becomes a weightless feather of data. Landing in a place she had never been, Eruda sees a Red-Cloaked figure wandering off toward what looks like the exit of this town. Recognizing the Robe that she has made for Raidou back in the day when they first met, Eruda knew right then that it was him. He was moving very fast so Eruda decides to follow him with a giant knot forming in her stomach, from yards away until he stops to do whatever he was here to accomplish.

[Raidou 1]

It appeared as though the city was rather devoid of activity today, a small blessing given the prior event that already proved some turbulence. A flick of his hand opened the quest board, and a sudden shift upward ripped the menu into a rapid scroll. A jam of the finger cemented his intention with the acceptance of the repeatable quest Natures Treasure, and with it a flutter of the robe as he tore away from it as fast as he came. Outside the walls and through a thick yellow fog Raidou raised the cloth to his mouth, proving once again its use as it shielded him from the toxin while he found the small opening to which he frequented.

Dropping down and sliding inside, the familiar vision of nodes of use glimmering in a spectrum of red and blue colors that bled from the walls around him. To the first a central patch of pure red leaves. Blood Booster as it was known and with a quick brush of his hand it produced a golden sheen for which he was all too used to. Removing the tapestry on his shoulders and laying it out flat Raidou began the process for which he was all too familiar creating a setting as the herbs mature enough for use began to pile upon it.

[Eruda 0]

Following Raidou from a distance as some yellowish fog begins to eliminate around her. Coughing a bit Eruda puts her long white sleeve against her face as to not breathe in whatever this chemical was. Her vision is dulled by the thickness of this substance but Eruda manages to keep her eyes focused enough to follow the bright red cloak attached to his back. Suddenly with a swift motion, Raidou vanishes. Running up to where he disappeared from, Eruda finds a small opening to what looked like a cave. Eruda stares at the hole knowing that Raidou would be down there but wanting to escape the fog so she jumps down the darkened entrance with haste. 

Landing on her knees in the cove, a smell of damp nature hits her nose. Rubbing her eyes forcing them to readjust to the dim-lit cavern, Eruda sees Raidou on his knees bent over something that she could not make out from this distance. Eruda gets to her feet and quickly changes clothing to a light pink tank top and some blue jeans as to not look like she just crawled out of bed. Eruda lets her hair stay down with a slight curl from it being braided the previous day. Closing her eyes with a large inhale of breath Eruda tries to speak but nothing comes out. Thinking to herself "Come on Eruda...Change remember"  as her mouth opens again but all she can manage to get out was "R-r-raidou". Not being able to control her feelings or emotions her eyes begin to water.

[Raidou 1]

A spoken word from a specter that seemed to follow him, a fear that Raidou had already brought himself to acknowledge may transpire. Something to which he was familiar, what he had not expected was this one appeared in disarray and seemed coupled with sound making it appear much more lifelike than the prior. "Hi Eruda." Raidou spoke with his words bouncing off the darkened lighting around him, the simple phrase reverberating from the grottos pocket. No matter how much the ordeal was taxing, Raidou could not afford to falter in his endeavors. The same sounds of breaking earthen cords of plant matter that adhered the very objects of red to the stone under him, a bit rough in removal given they had torn root through the cracks between the stone to find sustenance.

Adjusting the glasses on his nose in attempts to keep his mind where it mattered, trying to avoid a distraction that found a place in his serenity from time to time. Today could be no different it seemed and as before it should not slow him.

Eruda's face turns red as she hears Raidou voice once again. Her body begins to tense at the fact that he seems distant from her but given the fact that Eruda was away for so long without a word or a message, she understood. Eruda remembers the last time they were together in the restaurant actually having a good time. The untold feelings that Eruda thought they might have had that day. Something that ended in nothing more than just a memory and the cause of most of her nightmares that awoke her almost every early morning from what could have been a good night's rest. Eruda fists clenched by her sides as tears now drip down her face. A small sniffle before she closes her eyes trying to force her words out that would make sense instead of gibberish. "You think this is e-e-easy for me Raidou" as she wipes some tears from her cheek and walks a few steps forward. "Coming h-h-here to face you even though EVERY bone in my pathetic b-b-body told me to stay right where I w-w-was" saying with a stutter that passed through without realizing it, as she was just trying to get her words out, to be heard. Eruda wipes away more of the water dripping down from her face that she can't seem to control now. Trying now to calm herself with no success as she sniffles walking a few more steps word Raidou and says in a small voice "What I was feeling scared me" as now she was standing right next to Raidou with her head down, eyes closed and her right hand holding her on to her other arm feeling very ashamed with how she reacted to the situation instead of just talking to him about it.

[Raidou 1]

This phantom was much more aggressive than most it seemed as if paying it little focused seemed to agitate the memory of a past that should remain buried. "A rose with pedals that wilt in the morning dew, A lily like no other that has sprouted from the forgotten remains of a time that burned from a clock long ago. Do not pretend that..." A strong and familiar scent seems to break the sentence into a halt, causing a knot to form on his breath. Shaking his head at the notion.

It isn't real

Eruda is gone

"Do not pretend to be a flower so sweet, as to sour the memory. If what you claim is true, if a heart finds hearth within your breast then I should be able to sense it beating." Raidou reaches out and places a hand to Eruda assuming it to pass through and the feeling of warmth causes a shock in his system as if struck by lightning. With the feeling of heat, a beat that seems to shatter the ice that had encased this passage of time and caused him to withdrawal to find purpose. The permafrost seems to melt with an understanding met with even more confusion.

"Eruda?"

An echoing word that seemed to bounce about in a never-ending choir of words from the enclosure around them, as if time itself had been stuck on repeat.

Eruda keeps her eyes closed and listens to Raidou speak as if she wasn't there. The poetic yet painful words escaping his mouth as if she was something to be pardoned with. The knot in her stomach started to reform as Eruda feels the warmth of a hand against her chest. Eruda opens her eyes to find Raidou standing in front of her with his soft palm pressed gently against where her heart would be as Raidou says her name in almost disbelief. At this point, Eruda's chest was pounding so fast she could hardly breathe and she just wanted to run but she couldn't find the strength to do so. Eruda's face became redder than the robe that Raidou had tied around his neck as her heart started to speak without her input saying "I'm sorry Raidou that I left" Eruda says in a calm sturdy voice making sure not to move. "I thought about you every day,  but I couldn't bring myself to think that anything that happened that last day was real." Finally calming down ever so slightly, Eruda places her hand to his still against her heart which seems to be pounding harder than before. Eruda takes a slow breath in then lets it out trying to keep herself from stuttering. "I guess... I was afraid that how I felt so suddenly, that you wouldn't feel the same and just run." Eruda lets go of his hand and turns away. "You were the first person that ever talked to me besides my sister. I think that is why I fell so hard so quickly and I can't blame you for that. You were the first to show me kindness against all odds. This is why I left. I could not handle that someone might have actually cared about me" Eruda at this point was staring up at the cave's ceiling finding it easier to have a conversation not looking directly at him. Closing her eyes while she speaks trying to even her freak out state "I told you I would come and explain so I have. If you want me to stay...."  Eruda pauses for a moment before another tear falls slowly down her cheek. "Please just tell me honestly if...but tell me to leave and..." Eruda couldn't bring herself to finish what she was trying to get out. She hoped that it came out clear enough that he would understand that staying was hard but leaving would be even more painful. Eruda covers her face to mask it from the tears that would not stop.

[Raidou 1]

Removing his hand, not in spite or an aggressive pull, but a soft slip away. "I stand by what I said then, a vision of you has been plaguing me in a burn under my eyelids as if I could see the past. I was different then but the offer still stands Eruda and with you a hope brews. If you now stand before me, one that I assumed lost to time then it shows that potential to those I thought gone to the cardinal creature could find reality again as well."

Leaning down and procuring more as his world does its best to reshape around him, using his solace as a foundation for such to calm himself. The breaking of roots each feeling like a pull of his feet back to the ground he felt he could drift away from. "Those words still ring true, You still have a place in Firm Anima. I do not have the time for much more than that as of late, the days are so short but perhaps the dawn will find a way of being just a tad bit longer with you around."

Using an off hand, like an echo of the past the same notification after a target of the girl thought deceased, punches onto her HUD:

Eruda is filled with relief and comfort in the knowledge that Raidou still wanted her to join Firm Anima. Eruda takes a few minutes to process his words carefully realizing that he said: "a vision of you has been plaguing me in a burn under my eyelids as if I could see the past." Eruda closes her eyes thinking that she may have done some damage to him after she left. Eruda wipes her tears away and stands next to Raidou again. Her chest would not let up so she gave up trying to make it stop pounding what seems like a million miles per second. 

Eruda hears: "I do not have the time for much more than that as of late, the days are so short but perhaps the dawn will find a way of being just a tad bit longer with you around." 

Eruda's brushes her hand through her hair with a small sigh and accepts the Firm Anima Guild invite with her other free hand. Gently placing her left hand against Raidou's arm with a concerned look plastered across her face, Eruda bends down and tilts her head to look at Raidou face to face. "I really am sorry Raidou. I hope that you can forgive me one-day" Eruda said with her face just inches from his now as if she was trying to find those eyes of his behind the frames that covered them.

"Do not fret, there is no venom in my veins. I am glad your back. Do not mistake my focus for anger. There is so much to do and I have only just begun." in honesty, Raidou speaks adverting his head down a tad allowing the light to misplace from the lens and with a shade overcoming his brow amber eyes blaze through the opening. Hands do not falter however and with a consistent mill in robotic motion, a constant extraction building quite the number at his side with each tug that helps release the tension that had boiled his world to vapor. A stillness between them stunk of uneasy tension but for Raidou it was not one of disdain or rage but rather a disconnect of emotion to keep a clear head and reclaim his footing. "You are still a tailor?" Raidou spoke to pick up the pieces and shift from the obvious pressure.

Seeing comfort through Raidou's ember shaded eyes, Eruda can't help but smile causing a warm melting feeling over her. Hearing these words from his lips made Eruda know that in time things would be okay.

Stepping back a bit to give Raidou space, Eruda clears her throat before saying "I am, I even got better at it while..." her words fall silent with the painful reminder. Eruda unintentionally lets out a small grunt. Refocusing on the small talk now Eruda asks "Are you still an Alchemist?" Eruda mood started to change as did the conversation as it was hard talking about her feelings. Eruda glances around the cave as she asks "Why did you choose this place to gather from? Is there more to collect here than meets the eye?" 

While having this conversation, all she really wanted to do was give him a hug because against all odds, Eruda really did miss him. Face turns red again with these thoughts flooding through her mind like a waterfall. Trying to not show emotions Eruda stands in the back of him about a foot away watching over his shoulder as he makes use of his time. 

[Raidou 1]

Standing having dealt a decent blow to the stock available here in these plants and moving on for he had unknowingly spent just a bit too long dwelling on this bundle as is. "Let me show you, most of the stock here tends to be of a higher value and usefulness than those you would find on the lower floors. I've noticed an obvious difference in the magnitude of the potions I brew out of plants that appear identical to the ones found on the earlier ones." Withdrawing his sword and taking a quick glance around, a crate meets his advancing gaze and exclaims "Ah here we go." Raidou speaks and jams the point of his blade into the box and it begins to creak and crack to give way to what was contained within. It gives way to a layer of soot and leaning into it his top half disappears before he produces a nice stack of bolted fabric. "To answer your question, I am a grandmaster alchemist now."

Watching Raidou use his weapon in such ways as she listens to every word spoken. "That's amazing Raidou" sounding actually excited that he had gotten so far in his crafting. "I am trying to up there but getting the materials to do so is a pain for me." Speaking casually like this to Raidou doesn't seem to set off as much. Following Raidou around watching how he does things, Eruda just lets everything sink in. "Hey Raidou, do you think..." her words fall as she gets a bit nervous at what she was about the ask. Eruda stands there for a moment screaming at herself in her mind "Just ask him" as her face turns pinkish. "Can you teach me to fight..." Eruda blurts out a bit louder than she wanted. "If you have time that is" saying in a low voice. "I feel like I could really learn from you." Walks to one of the wall closest the where Raidou was gathering, Eruda leans against the rocky surface hoping it wasn't too much to ask.

[Raidou 1]

"I am not much of a fighter to be totally honest, but you are more than welcome to try. I am sure the occasion will arise in time." Raidou told the sandy blonde in candor as a forefront, half of his person enveloped in the box as he leaned in deeper to sift through the lower layer. A bag of flour tossed free to allow more ample space and reduce the weight pressed upon the bolts underneath it all. Raidou clasps hard on what was inside and ripping out a few units of brightly colored weaves and drops them to the side as to free his hands before diving in deeper.

"You can accompany me whenever you'd like, I have a few more tasks that need be done." Raidou spoke struggling to keep his glasses on his nose in his inversion as he shuffles about the bags and sacks within with mild difficulty.

Eruda smiles as he quickly digs through the bags littered about the floor of the cave. Thinking to herself that maybe she would wait to gather anything from here because Raidou seems to be hard at work collecting what he could. With a small glance around she comments on the robe that looked like the one she gave him saying "Do you wear the robe all the time. It looks different somehow" as she observes little threads that she doesn't remember sewing on there. " Do you have a place that everyone meets for crafting and stuff during the day?" Eruda was trying to make a small conversation. Eruda was also enjoying Raidou's time and that he didn't reject her as everyone else would have. Eruda just smiles in his direct watching him gather everything so fast. I really was an impressive view. Eruda's blushes a bit thinking of being with Raidou every day. Learning everything about him would take time but it seems like that's all they had these days.

[Raidou 1]

"The guild hall, follow the nav marker and it will lead you to it. Usually its rather empty but some times it has some activity but usually, it's me and Simmone." Raidou remarked while his attention stayed downward while he keeps to his assigned task. "Of course, the color change you see is just from age, I assure you it's the very much the same piece I was given so long ago. it served me well over this time, I have never changed off of it." His chest allowed him in a pivot back within the container in an attempt back and the items within its bottom. looking to its bottom and finding a few more bolts of varied hued fabric littered in a glimmering sheen. Grabbing on to what he could reach and ripping out four more bolts dropping them to the side as it was coming to an end what may be contained within.

Happy that Raidou has kept it so long she smiles once more. "I'm glad that you like it Raidou. It really suits you" as her eyes follow the movement that he provides for each material he grabs. A yawn escapes Eruda's mouth. "I think I am going to start heading back. Since there is usually no one at the Guild-hall I will come by early in the morning so see it if that's okay with you. I need some time to wrap my head around everything but I will see you in the morning because I am sure that there isn't anywhere to sleep there for me." Eruda yawns once more before walking toward the exit Eruda waits for a response if any to everything that was spoken. "Raidou, thank you. I know for sure that tonight I will sleep well knowing that you don't hate me." Eruda stands there hoping Raidou would turn if not for a moment to say something, anything to ensure that they would be okay.

[Raidou 1]

"I find that it does, it has staved off the elements. And that will do, I will see you then I tend to be their early so I more than likely be the first face you see. You may recognize some of the others as well." Raidou remarks as his are still mostly swayed into the box and grabbing what he could in a fervor given his distraction had costed him dearly thankfully the guild hall would be more than stocked enough to be capable of sustaining the lack in quantity today. Wrapping up what he had with a finality of acceptance Raidou turns to Eruda before she exits "I could never hate you Eruda."

Shortly after her exit Raidou makes his own, for there were matters to still settle and the day was rounding to a close. Leading his way back to Torunka the day is cut shorter than usual as the emotional taxation had left him empty.
