[F1-PP] Time is Value (Third Lessons)

[Eruda 0]

Eruda makes her way to the Town of Beginnings after having a conversation and sending a few messages to Raidou and the guild members. Hoping that they would listen to the guild message not thinking that is was a joke or something seeing how it was sent by her and not Raidou. "Floor 1" Eruda calls out as her feet touch the warp pad. Grounding in the familiar town Eruda goes straight to the quest board and picks up the "Third Lessons quest." Deciding to wait just a bit longer she walks to the in the grab something small to eat. Enjoying her meal, with an hour and a half of passing time Eruda walks to the fountain and sits on the edge as she looks up seeing the light blue sky of the early morning.   

Not wanting to wait much longer she sends a party invite with a quest share to Griswold, Shiina, and Kasumi. It was about 6:30 am and she wanted to get this quest done. Eruda waited for the other party members to arrive as she watches the sunrise into the sky the rest of the way.

[Kasumi 0]

A ring upon her heads up display echos through her shop on floor 2, in the silent background to which the sound reverberated. Kasumi sets down the ring she was just finished carving into a smoothed shape, placing it into a cushioned pocket next to a few others that were awaiting cut gemstones to be socketed in. A slide of her hand shows that it was from Eruda through the guild chat. A typed message filled with typo's in response:

Removing her apron and dropping it to a hook upon the wall, Kasumi gets changed into her battle equipment. Tying the straps of her gii around her waist and taking the white hand wraps from the pile, a quick twist of her wrists affirming them around her palms. A flexing fist settles the cable into her hands, a quick removal of the orange ribbon in her hair Kasumi pops loose from her shop into the fields of crossing, aiming for the warp gate to travel to floor 1.

[Griswold 0]

The heat was commonplace on his back, the sounds of searing metal being quenched as it drops into a pool of water. Griswold dabs his neck with a white rag, pulling the beading sweat from his back from the exertion. The hissing stops and using a pair of dark green calipers Griswold removes the blade from the trough of fluid, turning it around in his hands. "You'll do nicely." Griswold spoke as if speaking to it with a passing hand across the dull piece awaiting to be sharpened. A message distracts him, and a moment of obscenities shouted allows him to open it.Without the gull to attempt to fight with the menu to send a response, Griswold jams the weapon into a barrel with others awaiting more work to be had. Grabbing the mallet from his anvil, his weapon as well as his tool. From the wall a massive steel shield he had just completed and placing plates from a pile onto his frame as they bolt into place. With the helmet the last of the set, Griswold pulls a piece as it locks down to the chest creating a full suit of dark blue armor. Griswold shifts the large stone that concealed his shop from floor 9, the fires ablaze as he heads for floor 1.

[Shiina 0]

A message snaps Shiina awake, sliding out from under the covers and a pile of papers in loose composition. "What, what...What." Shiina barks out trying to silence the alarm bringing her to consciousness, pushing it open reveals a guild message from... Eruda. "Right, the thing and the...mission." Shiina drops her language about scanning over the words, falling out of bed in her haste as the sheets of white fall like confetti. Downstairs in the tavern, the patrons hear the hearty thud, taking a glance at the ceiling in curiosity. Slapping her armor on in a frenetic display and struggling to get one of the greaves to settle on foot as she hops about. Ripping the glowstone off the end table in a backlash, having almost forgotten it. "No, bring the rock." Shiina remarks as it was surely important to carry it having been given it by Simmone just yesterday evening. Shiina rushes downstairs as the barkeep stairs her down "Shoosh!" Shiina exclaims throwing a hand full of loose coin at him as payment for the room for another night. A sprint with still unfitted armor on her body, Shiina tries to catch up to the others.

[Eruda 0]

Eruda yawns a bit and looks around the down which seemed to be empty right now. Eruda sees pink petals litter the area around her and then seeing Kasumi. Shortly Eruda sees the blacksmith walking from the warp pad. Another glance and Shiina appears right after. Trying to gain some confidence given the conversation with Raidou earlier this morning she takes a deep breath and slowly exhales out. Looking to everyone she says "I have sent everyone a party invite and quest share. Let's get moving!" Eruda sounding a bit nervous against what she wanted but she gets up from the edge of the fountain and starts heading to the grove to meet with Hannah.

Following the nav marker, finding Hannah within the groves tree's she has a conversation with her about what needed to be done. Eruda simply nods and walks out from the tree lines waiting for the others to have their conversation.  

[Kasumi 0]

A subtle bow to Hanna with a smile "We're back!" as Hanna perks up with the lot about her with a matching smile. "I see, I need you to go into the cave I am marking on your map. A gemstone for each of you is inside this dark place. Find it and bring it back." the NPC artisan responds to the player one unknowing she was speaking to a master artisan, removing a gold band still missing a jewel setting. "Just be careful, there is rumor of beasts lying in wait in that grotto." Kasumi nods listening intently to Hanna to completion, looking to Eruda Kasumi moves up to meet her. "You were right you know, I am trying though. I hope we are still friends Eruda." Hoping to bury the hatchet that arose during their second lessons, and with a subtle feeling, she was glad that Setsuna wasn't accompanying their party this time.

[Griswold 0]

Griswold just allows Hanna to continue her explanation, eyeballing Eruda's shield and sword with silent pride in their construction. This task would hopefully be easier than the earlier second lessons with Shiina, then the concept hits him like a ton of bricks. How is Shiina able to do this, I thought she failed? Griswold thinks while looking Shiina over who was waving a small stone around in the air while Hanna spoke with a grin. Hopping off the tree with a heavy thud, his weight obvious in his armor he moves to meet Eruda. "So what are we dealing with here?" Griswold asks trying to get a sense of what they were in for, not sure what to expect the cave had in store for the party. He waits in standby while the others commune, checking the fasteners in his plate armor and after a moment fixing Shiina's so it actually offers protection.

[Shiina 0]

Shiina cannot help but be elated at the fact she was moving forward with the team, allowing Hanna to speak her mumbo jumbo without pause but paying little to no attention. She was fixated on the stone in her hand, given to her by Simmone. Just strike it when it gets dark, and hold it up high. Shiina was ready for this, with all that boar tusk behind her she was doing it. Hanna finishes her monologue and Shiina skitters alongside the others in the party, paying Eruda a big grin. Griswold's huge hands adjust her armor like a parent putting pajamas on their kid, Shiina just stands there taking the movement as she holds the glowstone above her head. "Let's do this guys, go Firm Anima~!" the girl cheers with a rather fierce look on her face, happy to be a part of the group and waiting to move out with Eruda on the forefront.

[Eruda 0]

Not use to this much attention Eruda's face turns a bit red as she looks to Kasumi saying "I..I don't.." Eruda tries to speak but her nerves begin to kick in. "God not now," Eruda says in a whisper. Taking a deep breath and trying again "Yes but it's going to take me time to get used to this," she says quickly hoping that it sounded like English. Looking up to meet the big guy's helm face. Looking away quickly saying "Quest...right...uuu.." she starts to walk toward the nav marker. "Each member needs to collect a gemstone of their own so I'll take the point for whatever danger will be in these caves. Shiina, keep the glow stone lit while we are in the cave. Kasumi, Griswold fight behind me. I will try to keep their attention so you guys can attack freely." Not looking at the group made it a bit easier to talk. Hoping that she didn't come off to rash she says "Let's go get this done."

Getting to the cave after some time passes she looks within as it was indeed dark. Looking to Shiina "Get the glowing stone lit, please!" Looking to the others and blushing a bit saying "If you guys find a gemstone first let me know so I can be the first to act first if something shows up okay." With that, she waits for Shiina to light the place up before walking into the dark.

[Kasumi 0]

A short trek while following the provided nav leads to a growth upon the floor, hidden just outside the city in the overgrown forest canopy. Into a blackened cavern Kasumi looks, it is very hard to see within the interior. From what she could see was a roughed stone wall uneven, worn away from time. Screaming out in almost a whistle a breeze takes her orange hair into flight. "Guess this is the place." Kasumi mumbles before Eruda starts to dedicate a more sound game plan, Kasumi could not help but smile as it was a familiar wording as if read from a sheet of paper. "Alright I'll do my best." the orange haired girl exhumes, agreeing to go with the plan. A change in perspective as she looks to Shiina, still clutching this oval rock she was toting around having not noticed it up until now waiting to see what was inside.

[Griswold 0]

A journey following a blued line on the provided minimap, on Eruda's heels Griswold follows towering over the girl. A few tempered words from the girl graces Griswold with a concealed smile, hidden in his plated cobalt helmet. "Aye, Give them all you got girl. I'll back you up." Griswold decreed with a bellow tapping the front of his shield with his mallet. The smith was ready for whatever the cavern would offer in opposition, a look to it shows a darkened entrance. "Hmm, this darkness may be a problem." Griswold barks before Eruda offers her solution, turning to face Shiina with a hearty chuckle. "Is that so, you've a light then?" Griswold remarks looking down at the tiny girl, already proving to be an asset. A proof of Gaius wrong, Griswold could not help but see the humor in it as Shiina was going to be the light that guided the way.

[Shiina 0]

Looking to Eruda as she lays out the plan, paying the blonde a salute "Aye Capitano, I got the flashlight!" Shiina exclaims striking the stone on the front of her armor. The stone begins to pour a bluish light in all directions. Eruda takes the helm with Shiina at her back, Griswold and Kasumi take up the rear of the group. The path winds and narrows, Griswold having some trouble finding movement when it becomes very slim. His armor scrapes along the walls, to which Shiina turns and places her finger to her mouth "Shh..." Griswold scratches the back of his helmet and remarks "Sorry"

It opens to a large chamber, in clumps are broken stone and in the center surrounded by the destruction is four jewels. Shiina leans down and claims hers, a jasper of turquoise color. Eruda picks up a sapphire, Kasumi a pink diamond, and Griswold a hunk of orange amber. These gems seemed fitted to those who entered as there were exactly four as if a set up by the cardinal system to entice them to spring the trap.

With light, the interior of the cave was glowing in blueish lighting. The moment everyone picks up their gems, 4 red patches of fog start to illuminate in front of the team. Four Cave Guardians form in their place. Eruda calls out as she pulls her sword and shield out "Get ready you guys, Shiina step back," as she prepares herself to attack all for at once trying to get their attention.

Focusing on the enemies, Eruda feels a small pulse through her body before in glows light blue for a second. With that, she grins and closes the distance between her and the creature. When close enough, with her sword out to the right as it glows red in a sword art activation. Using the momentum she had in the small area she spins, sending a red gash through the air toward the creatures hitting a good chunk of them. Taking a deep breath, Eruda positions herself with her shield in front of her getting ready to take what was coming as she calls out behind her "Now you two."

[Kasumi 0]

With a rumble, the hulking masses begin to form around the group as the rubble beneath them starts to roll away and form into humanoid frames of stone. Kasumi's stance shifts as she moves in front of Shiina, eager to protect the girl clutching their source of visibility. Eruda lets loose a wide arc that lacerates all but one in a glowing red section of damage, their attentions shifting to the blonde toting her shield to which they start to wind back a counter-attack. "This is not going to end how you intend it to." Kasumi fights through her inhibitions and with a flowing set of appendages creating fluid turns as pink starts to take her hands and feet. Griswold charges in and shield bashes one with a quick slam, before shifting his hammer over in his grasp. "Go!" he barks as the first loses its block. A flutter of petals falls as she seems to vanish, a trail of pink giving her away in a collision of both of her feet impact the crack Griswold had formed.

Eruda slashes at one of the creature's ankles and raising her shield up as it raises a hefty stone pillar arm. Kasumi appears in a quick step, springboarding of the shield "Thanks Eruda!" with a smile before she rings around the beasts arm and slams a descending heel into its open maw causing it to crumble. Shiina screeches as one of the two remaining eyes her as she waves the glowstone in front of her face "Go away!" Eruda cleaves through its back as the bleed takes hold as she yells "I've got you Shiina". it weakens and dropping to one knee as its HP bar plummets, collapsing before a satisfying pop. "Take this!" Griswold heaves his hammer at the last and as it bashes against an attempt at defense, causing hairline fractures to form upon it. Kasumi lands and drawing a line in the sand with her feet, she winds back both hands before a satisfying crash of an open palm Like water along the shore she thinks in silence as her hand finds the shatterpoint, sliding through it like butter and slamming into its central frame ending its life.

The last falls in a crumble of stone, Kasumi's extended arm causing it collapse to rubble before it takes a blue shade and vanishes to pixels. Adjusting his shield, with a rotation of his shoulder. He pops his neck and picks his hammer up from where it dropped, Griswold could not help but notice how clean that fight was. As if they were becoming more accustomed to working together, like puzzle pieces moving to form a bigger picture. "That was rather quick, well done." Griswold remarks with a chuckle, looking at the hunk of amber again as he peels it from the cave floor. "Shall we?" the chiseled mass asks, as they were more than complete with this leg of the journey and a return to Hanna was in order. Tossing the stone up and snatching it out of the air it fades to data as it updates into his inventory.

[Shiina 0]

An impressive display from the party, Eruda doing a fair job of protecting her while Big guy and Kasumi killed everything in sight in a trail of lights and colors. "Alright team!" Shiina shouts tapping the destroyed column of stone with the glowstone until it fades away. Griswold and her high five, Shiina was growing on big guy. Scooping the stone that was hers from the rubble, a hand full of dirt along with it. Shiina picks the stone out then confetti's the dirt into a cloud "Bleh. Got it!" she holds it aloft before dropping it into the metal shell that was her armor for safe keeping. A nod in response to Griswold and looking to Kasumi and Eruda "Lets take these back to Hanna and get the heck outta here before this stone goes out!" Shiina extrudes waving the rock around as she wasn't to sure exactly how long it would last.

Eruda picks her sapphire up from the rubble as well with a small smile. "I want to thank you all for following behind my plan. Our teamwork is what made the quickness of this quest possible," saying as she stares at the stone making it easier to talk to all of them. "I... want to let you guys know that I will be helping Raidou more, so when something from me shows up in the guild chat, just know that it's Raidou who asked of it and I will let him know how well we worked as a team." Eruda starts to blush a bit but finally knows her course of action. Her place in this world, which will make it easier to move forward from here on out. "Let's return these gems to Hannah and when the time comes I will let you know what will be next to come," Eruda says in a now confident voice knowing that her path was set. Eruda puts her sword and shield away as she walks past the group to head out of the cave.

With the group follow behind Eruda, they all head back to Hannah to complete the third lesson's quest. Eruda speaks with Hannah first handing the sapphire to her. Hannah hands Eruda a package to give to an old fisherman, Ol' Pete who is at a giant lake nearby. Eruda smiles at the group as she walks past saying "I'll see you guys later" and heads off to give Pete his package. Eventually, after finding where he was located she gives it to Pete and tells him that she will see him soon and start walking away. A chime comes from her HUD upon completion of the quest. Eruda smiles and begins walking back to the guildhall to read more of Raidou's notes.

Eruda leads the pack out of the grotto explaining to the group the origin of the message she had sent. "We did well, it seems as though things are becoming easier with each passing day." Kasumi responds with her own two cents. "I figured as much, Raidou is smart but he has a tendency to take everything on alone. I am thankful that you are easing his burden, he talks of us working as a team but he forgets that he also needs help from time to time." Hanna is expecting their return looking to the group as she adjusts her frames, Kasumi presents her pink diamond and after a short delay Hanna fits it into the band the group had provided. Handing the newly fitted ring to Kasumi, it was a modest piece. "Thank you." Kasumi accepts the gift with a bow, even though she had no intention of using it. Hanna then passes her a wrapped pole, a package, and asks Kasumi to bring it to a man named Pete at the docks. "Will do." Kasumi says as she accepts the task with a smile.

[Griswold 0]

Griswold chuckles and pats Eruda's back with a plated hand, albeit softer than he does to Gaius. "Gladly girl, after all, we are shield brothers hope you have a good report. I've never seen such power without a weapon, however." Griswold remarks as he looks to Kasumi, the show of strength she had shown with her hands alone was impressive. "It is an old skill, I do not like using it in such a way. But if this is what my cousin wishes so be it." the girl responds without looking to Griswold with her eyes focused forward on the path ahead, Griswold chuckles as the girl gives herself to little credit. "And you too, bringing that little rock was a godsend." he speaks as his hefty hand ruffles Shiina's hair, who peers through his fingers with a wide smirk. Eventually, they land at Hanna, Eruda, and Kasumi hand off their jewels and receive some object and another package. "Guess this isn't over just yet." Griswold speaks as he moves to gain his own completion.

[Shiina 0]

"Raidou Right-o, good going team. You tell book boy we are da best!" Shiina exclaims with a little jaunt in excited body language, as her walking looks almost like a dance or a skip. Shiina looks down to the gem in her hand, wondering what it would become as Griswold pats her hair. She was so intently focused on the object, Griswold has to keep her from tripping on protruding rocks along the trail. They make it back to the cities garden, on a twisted trunk of a large tree Hanna is still painstakingly working on some piece of large paper with a brush. "We're back lady!" Shiina exhumes to which she turns and smiles. The others go first, getting some things from the lady. Finally, up to the plate, Shiina presents her while shouting "Got it: See!?" forcing the jewel into the NPC's face. Claiming the stone and offering Shiina the very same reward, to which she bites the ring pretending she knew what it was for.

The pack heads to Pete, a waterlogged older fellow with a long white beard. A balding head topped with a canvas hat, onboard a rickety old boat. "You!" Shiina shouts causing him to fumble from the aggressive greeting. "Yes?" Shiina explains while they were there as they all pass on these poles in packages. Revealed as fishing rods, he chuckles and asks "So you ready to come fishin'?"
