History

Kaya Ganbo is a young Japanese girl born to a family of uncaring parents. Several incidents led up to her parents losing custody of her before she was even a year old. The two scars that appear on her face are proof enough of those forgotten memories. Since she was taken, she has been living in an orphanage.

Growing up in a house with several other children that had no relation to each other, she of all of them was the prime target for mocking. The scars on her face were most of the reason the other children would pick on her, and even with the constant scolding from the caretakers, the older kids would continue to pick on her.

Kaya was never familiar with video games, but one day when she had enough of the constant berating of her elders and decided to steal one of their game consoles: A Nerve Gear with an upcoming game Sword Art Online. While they were out at school, she took the console and started it up, little did she know it would probably be the last time anyone ever saw her scars in that orphanage.

Personality

Assassin is a quiet girl that appears of the age of 10, even though she is actually 12 upon entering the game. Mostly due to her height. She comes off like a scared, innocent little girl but is actually more calculated than one might think for her appearance. She is street smart and resourceful when she needs to be. Often times, Kaya will use her appearance to exploit others and then drop them when they're no longer necessary.

 

Virtues/Flaws

Exploitative - Assassin can take advantage of exploitable situations or people on the drop of a dime. Whether it's to steal something from them, or to get some kind of in game benefit without doing all the work for it. Missing an opportunity to increase her standing in the game would be awful, of course.

Street-Smart - Kaya knows how to make due with what she has. Often able to come up with a solution to a problem on a dime, she uses what she knows to get her work done. Though, street smarts can only take a person so far so she can freak out if her plans crumble.

Bluff - If there's one thing that the young girl is good at, it's using her appearance to get what she wants. She's learned how to play the part of a child and fake it enough to make people give her what she wants. This makes her pretty manipulative and hard to trust.

Young - Youth is boon anyone past their prime could wish for, but in this case, Kaya is still only a child. Her experience with video games or situations like SAO is insanely minimal. Even if her act is just an act, she is still a kid down to her core.

Hard to Trust - Though her facade never really slips through the cracks, she finds it difficult to trust others. No one has ever been much of a friend to her, so trust issues are prevalent in her personality. Getting to a point of helping this girl would be difficult.

Neglected - Although the caretakers at the orphanage did their best to help all of the children in the building, Assassin had struggled with learning. She often misunderstood school subjects or just couldn't get the hang of them. One this she is especially awful with is math.
