[PP - F21] Stocking up on «Nature's Treasure»

Recommended Posts

As much as she searched through her memory, this particular blonde couldn't remember the last time she set foot on this floor. The sigh wasn't particularly a novelty but she enjoyed the vibrant visual aesthetic of the mushroom illuminated town main setlement. On a bench, near the exit of the safe haven, stood a blonde figure clad in blue and visibly high tier attire. Her crossed legs sporting a pair of heavy looking army-grade boots and a red cape, tattered around the edges, draping over her back. The blonde's hair half obscuring the reverse V marking on the cape slightly rose and lowered as she sighted. "I never really explored this floor except from when I was looking for a house. Even then I was quick to dismiss it because of all the humidity. " she lets out a small chuckle before continuing: "I thought that it would affect the housing and it would be too much of a bother to repair." she chuckled, thinking how she treated it like a real life issue.

Of course there was no rational reply except for a low growl from the familiar that she used as a 'interlocutor' in this conversation. Kimba stopped doing whatever she was about and turned around. Yellow irises on black background staring at the blonde as the lioness yawned and licked her mouth then started grooming her pristine white fur. The familiar stood out significantly in this lowly illuminated area, even more so as  her white fur gained different hues from the glowing mushrooms around them. Seeing as that was going to be the best reply she'll get for a while, she decided to adopt a more comfortable position, leaning back and spreading her arms on top of the rough bench's backrest; putting one foot over the other. She already has a rogue-ish appearance, not that she made herself more comfy she looked like a straight up delinquent. She wouldn't have to wait much though, it was partially her fault for arriving earlier than agreed but if she was to be honest... she enjoyed having these little downtime moments. "We should try the hot springs afterwards." she spouted out loud as the idea just came to mind while munching on some snacks and a drink to raise her stats.

The request to meet came suddenly and out of the blue. Ariel-- a name young Snow didn't think she'd see again. The PM appeared while she was just finishing up some dishes at her home in the third floor. So new to adventuring, she never expected to be contacted through the messaging system. In the halfway homes, she rarely used the menus. Some of the other non-combatants feared the menus alone, no less the monsters outside the safe zone. Regardless, Snow sent a quick acknowledgement and finished up her chores.

She had been to the twenty first floor before once with a man named Shield. Knowing how over leveled it was compared to her, Snow wiped her wet hands off on her apron and started selecting the appropriate gear for the higher levels. The blues and whites of her heavy armor swapped out her comfortable tee and jean shorts. Her sneakers became heavy greaves and her high pony tail spilled waves of blonde over a winged circlet. As a cherry to the top, a long golden spear materialized on her back. She flicked her wrist and the array of semi-transparent windows slide away into obscurity.

"Well then! Let's go see an old friend!" She stated aloud for the stone and mortar walls to hear.

She journeyed to Flora and up the steps to the central gate. With a few keywords, the bright floral spring of the third floor changed to the musty, damp darkness of the twenty first. The aural glow of mushrooms and clustered crystals provided adequate light. It reminded her of the streets of Shibuya Center at night. It didn't take long for Snow to find the sore thumb of bright white fur in a sea of muted shadows.

"Kimba?!" Snow shouted and broke into a light jog. "Ariel! How have you been! I haven't seen either of you in forever!"

Snow held the back of her hand low for Kimba. It was how she greeted the lioness the first time they met as a friendly, non-threatening introduction. If the large cat accepted, Snow prepared herself to run her hands through the soft, white fur right behind the ear. All critters loved a good scritch behind the ear.

Thanks to the silence and darkness around them, Ariel stood there with her eyes closed and almost fell asleep. That was until she heard someone shout her familiar's name and them hers, with enthusiasm. Opening one eye lazily, the blonde raised an eyebrow at the familiarity with which this newcomer adressed her. She checked her name once again "Snow", while it was a pretty name it didn't ring any bell for the blonde. Not now or even when they first came into contact via messages and even those were impersonal ones agreeing to do a quest together. Unsure where this familiarity was coming from, she watched her greet and pet Kimba. Once again she tried kickstarting her memory in an attempt to see if she actually meet Snow before in person. Again, it didn't ring any bells so the frontliner had to ask: "Have we meet before? like.. in person?" her face was a mix of emotions, confused by her familiarity, sorry for not remembering if they have meet before even a little suspicious along with downright curious. On the other side Kimba had nothing more than gratitude for the attention she was receiving.

Snow stopped scratching behind the lioness's ear much to Kimba's dismay and turned attention to Ariel.

Right... We never actually met. She probably doesn't remember me.

"O-oh... Sorry. You might not remember me," spoke the blonde quietly. Her head hung low a little as she recalled her last memory of Ariel. They all stood in front of the <<Monument of Life>>. Their faces were sullen and morose. The name <<Azide>> recently crossed out, a former member of the Knights of the Blood Oath. Snow held a small flower, but not for Azide, for her friend in real life, Daire. Snow remembered the white lioness. She remembered Ariel, but not as she stood here now. Much had changed.

"It was a long time ago. I remember you, but I was not really anything worth noting back then... Don't worry about it." Snow's lips turned upward into a rehearsed smile.

"Well, no sense in dilly dallying. Shall we?"

Ariel tilted her head even more, slightly interested but showing with a nod that she was willing to let go of the subject. She chalked it off as the player's quirkiness and didn't put anymore thought in it as Snow didn't seem to show ill intent when referring to the past. Another nod confirmed her intention to move on with the farming quest, her white familiar reinforcing it by perking her ears and moving in front of them, proudly leading despite Ariel's hunch that the familiar didn't know where they were headed. "I've never done this quest before, can you tell me anything more than what its bland description says. Anything special about it or even worth mentioning?" Asked the blonde, turning towards Snow, coming to the unexpected realization that the two didn't share a similar hair color but also the height, not to mention.. other proportions. Ariel found herself checking Snow up from head to toe after her question.
