All Players suddenly receive the same message from an unknown sender.

  Quote

Players,
If you want your freedom, face The Kings. Meet outside of the Town of Beginnings in one week's time.

Expand

A week has passed and Aincrad has been abuzz with excitement. Could this really be the way out that everyone has been hoping for? And why now? The Frontlines weren't even close to Floor 100. Perhaps a glitch in Cardinal's script? Whatever the reason, it was too good of an opportunity to pass up. Even the mere chance of returning home was too good for many players to pass up. At the appointed time, players of all levels and skills had congregated outside the main gates. There was an anxious silence over the crowd as they awaited the arrival of The Kings. For many of them, all of their hopes rode on this battle. So what will it be, players? Will you join the faceless masses and challenge The Kings?

Rules
Rotations will be accelerated. Players are given 48 hours to respond instead of the normal 72.
Alt characters are allowed and encouraged.
Players can join the battle at any point, not just during the initial preparation period.

Soundtrack: Arabian yodeling. The bustle of the crowd seemed to quiet as storm clouds suddenly moved in, enveloping the whole of Aincrad. Silence blanketed the expanse as quickly as the darkness

Never one to miss an event, Yuki hurriedly made her way to the first floor. "If you want your freedom-" Was Kayaba offing them the keys to their prison, or was he simply handing them the noose for taking so long clear only 25 floors? Missing the chance to be apart of any type of event would be like shooting oneself in the foot, especially if they were working on leveling like she was. Getting to tier three was going be fast than she expected and she would do anything expedite the process.

Arriving at the location the message had entailed, Yuki summoned her massive lance. It looks like she was the first of the event participants to get here, or maybe she was the only one who was going to be here in the first place. That would be pretty disappointing all things considered. Who knows if this would actually be freedom for the participants of the game.

They were given a week to prepare. And during that time, a certain someone was nowhere to be seen. Not a single message, nary even a word left for their victim of a couple of months. Dared NIGHT admit it; she was beginning to feel a little lost with her homebody companion going missing. She'd at least thought they'd appreciate the news.

Maybe Cardinal collected them for a good reason, and it was in relation to the news all players were fed.

She'd seen the crowd. With the oncoming onslaught, it was easy to tell that this would be a difficult fight -- to say nothing about the boss' and their potential stats in itself, of course. Her concern was more about the army's space left to fight. And yet, NIGHT mused, as her eyes shuffled through a handful of figures near her, they were all going to give rushing their opponents a try, anyway, brushed up against each other and squished together without mercy.

Mmh. The fighter didn't like the this at all.

As she caught a familiar flash of pink, she rose from her seat on a stack of crates by an alleyway, drawing her feet away from hugging Jack's Executioner close to her. In her immediate vicinity were players donned with low-levelled equipment. No doubt they were informants or supports alike, sticking close to the battle field for consumable use or strategies while staying out of range to avoid most known attacks. Two fingers brought out her menus, the woman navigating over to her friends list, and with a swift tap and dismissal of her interface she'd sent Yuki a party invite. Might as well officially establish her connections in what might be one final fight.

She'd sent her shield a quick message, before looking about for a ladder to scale up towards a rooftop.

NIGHT: i see you
NIGHT: im genuinely counting on you this time yuki

When NIGHT had reached her destination, she stepped towards a ledge, leering over the sea of colours with a careful eye. The brilliant pink, coupled with black and white stood no further than a few paces over from a quick drop.

NIGHT: attacking from above
NIGHT: look up

Two more directions of her interface, the woman realizing her disadvantage with being positioned up so high.

NIGHT: you're party leader now
NIGHT: if you find anyone on the ground just inv them
NIGHT: good luck

She'd shut off her communications, the knight looking up towards the horizon, letting the breeze further unsettle her ruffled locks through and through. In the time between then and now, she was free to think, to dream of what awaited her outside of the game, once they might get out. It would serve as a grim reminder, a knife against her back, that this fight was a do-or-die affair.

And NIGHT wasn't willing to lose.

There were just. So. Many. People here. Who would've thought it?

Well, whoever they were, they probably weren't Basuke. And also, most likely way smarter than the boy getting shoved around in the crowd of people. Where were all the familiar faces he'd expected to see? He only remembered the message from a week ago, and then silence on his end -- not given much the ability to communicate with others, his help lines ended up getting shot into the water. Talk about oof. He really should've tried harder to reach out to anyone, though.

But the day was finally here! The day... something was about to happen. And absolutely who knew what was going to happen. Basuke wasn't sure, but it was all in or all out for the boy. Easier to go big and go home, than hold back and maybe falter in battle.

NIGHT had given him something before this; a lead to an alchemist and a sword that felt oddly reminiscent of imminent disaster. Meanwhile, out of his own volition, he'd taken up on some player's offer to unleash a number of consumables when he'd found the time. It was easier than to dive right into the thick of things when he could help out even from the back lines. On the last resort (or if other creatures were summoned en masse), he would pick up his new needle and head into the fray. But for now, the boy found himself hanging back, resting against one of the many storefronts' walls on the sidelines...

... Uh. If he could get to them first, anyway.

There was no way something like this was legit.

As he slid the poison across the edges of his blade, he ran the possibilities through his head another time. But there was no way it could be true. It was too sudden, too out of nowhere - a cruel joke, he thought, at best, or some sort of twisted death trap at worst. But what did that mean for them, on the off chance that the event was real? The frontliners were bound to swing by just by the cryptic and unusual nature of the event, and if they cleared it (again, if it was real), that meant they'd have carved a way out of the game for them and anyone in attendance. And what would happen to the ones left behind? There was no way he or any of the other remaining players would be able to clear the floors on their own. Not with the way the boss fights have been going recently. Knowing this, what else could you do but show up?

Cruel joke, or death trap?

By the time he arrived, players of all varieties had already accumulated around the front of the Town of Beginnings. Pinball hung back, his head down, another faceless man in the crowd of nobodies. He didn't want to draw attention to himself if he could help it. And he'd actively avoid doing so until he was absolutely sure what the event was all about. He felt that longing to stay hidden go recognized by Cardinal, and noticed the beginnings of a mechanical attempt at stealth - but ultimately, he paid it no mind.

All he really wanted to do now was keep an eye out for the key players.

Normally...Mari wouldn't be anywhere near this floor; but she was close - after her run in with a small child named Aiko. And the message, it was clearly bait - clearly an event. Even so...events were powerful things, that gave users extraordinary items and abilities, right? So the message of this one...Did it mean she could escape? That she could leave here? M

Did..that mean she could somehow make it so someone else could leave? Mari had no desire to escape from the game; beyond that of wanting to help everyone else leave the prison. Mari knew she had no one waiting for her on the other side, but others? So many other people did. She shut her eyes.

"I have someone. She moved to Japan for me. She's trapped in here too, and if there's any chance of her getting out alive, I'm going to take it. I'm the only one she has. The only hope she has, of getting out of here. So I'm sorry, I can't return your feelings that way."

Right. People like Baldur - who had someone he was fighting for, like Shield who had children. Aiko - who had a mother. So many people here had things they were fighting for. Mari didn't have something personal like that. But what she did have, was those who were around her, those who believed in her, for whatever foolish reasons they may be. She'd get out, she'd find them all. And she'd sit down and have a damn cup of bloody tea with all the pillars. This event wouldn't grant freedom, that was too easy. Way too easy. It'd grant an item that'd make 'freedom' easier.

Mari had arrived, and it seemed there were a few other people already present. The butt of her spear was shoved hard into the ground as Mari took a seat upon a nearby rock. Now, all she could do was wait. Who else would come? Would they share their consumables? Mari felt a little uncomfortable, despite using most of her items, and placing what little potions of value she had in her battle ready inventory - she felt like she was under prepared.

All she could do, was hope others were prepared like her, at least she had consumed enough buffs to start her off. She had a small stack of recovery crystals and potions which would be useful in a pinch. Would others do the same? Would they be ready to buff themselves?

Mari really, really didn't feel like carrying anyone through the battle today. But - she was less inclined to see anyone die.

Freedom from this game - for all of the time and energy he'd spent in it - was an exciting prospect. Honestly, Oscar was torn. On the one hand, he wasn't quite sure that he was ready to leave yet. But on the other, judging from the crowd that had gathered outside of the town, a lot of other people were. So, there was a bit of a moral dilemma for him. Would it not be selfish of him to not show up, thus depriving the heavy hitters of whatever he could bring to the table, just because he was still on the fence? It was rather sudden, all things considered. Oscar thought he had another 75 floors to reach a decision. Now, without even having Floor 25 cleared, they were being given an opportunity to leave no. So it sort of rushed things. Even if he wasn't completely for it, he would at least contribute what he could. Thus, he completely emptied his inventory of Feasts for anyone who needed food. "Yo dudes, here's some weird feasts for you. Go to town."

Adorable, how one word could nearly drive an entire collective to madness.

Arabelle stood atop the city wall, breathing in the last scent of ash. Unruffled — as if Magnolia hadn't been silent since the system message. They'd watched as the crowds formed. Dulled sentiments had reignited; multitudes pulled themselves from their self-imposed inactivity, players of all levels and specialties accomplishing preparation efforts with perhaps far more vigor than a labyrinth boss fight. So hopeful. So desperate. Even from her great distance above them, she could feel their determination, dreams and yearnings of home which only propelled them further onward to a losing battle.

Were they so lost as to believe in the kindness of the same game master who imprisoned them in the first place?

As the clocked ticked towards the deadline, she descended. Hopping down from one roof to the next, her feet softly hit the ground a decently fair distance from where the stronger players were gathering. A quick few taps on her interface, and Amaterasu appeared at her back, her other hand closing around a small diamond-shaped item.

"Crystal for your thoughts?"

A sweet smile pulled at her lips as she tapped a familiar black crystal to Pinball's shoulder, then slid it down the length of his arm to press into his palm. "Just kidding. It's a gift. I know how difficult it is for you to find any of these." Truthfully, Arabelle was a little surprised when she found him among the crowd. Finally tired of hiding, or just as taken in by the promise of immediate freedom? Probably neither. "You know... everyone's a little too focused on this entire charade to pay you any mind, but don't expect your luck to last once it all falls apart."

She stepped to the side, offered him a small wave, ending the conversation before it lasted long enough for anyone else to notice. "I'll see you around."

The girl had marked down another spot as her destination earlier. Pushing gently past a couple of players, the scythe-wielder walked a little further and found Oscar, Yuki, and a merchant she'd struck a deal with some time ago near an assemblage of feasts. "Hello. Oscar and Firma Anima, your services are very much appreciated." She offered them a warm smile before she turned her attention to perusing the foods of... suspicious tastes. At least they weren't hot dogs. "Any particular players assigned to them? Oh— and Yuki, party request if you have a slot."

Another couple of taps on her menus, and a window appeared before the paladin. She lightly pumped her fist in a cutesy expression of encouragement.

"I don't have a clue about any of this either. But whatever happens, let's all do our best!"

Freyd wandered through the teleportation portal to find a growing crowd gathering in the central plaza.

"What's all this about?" he asked to no one in particular.  The sheer number of players gathering was impressive - no few of them senior veterans.  Some even appeared to be from the front lines.  He subconsciously started cataloging all the delectable data available around him, as he simultaneous called up recent general posts to figure things out.

Ah, I see.  This started while I was still in my self-imposed stupor.

Summoning Forgiven Disobedience to hand, he wondered if it might garner some attention from a previous owner.  He still didn't know who had tossed it his way, and might as well leave it exposed.  He owed someone a debt of gratitude for that gift, and meant to pay it in full.  Much of his gear was brand new, having only just finished identifying his cassock and vambraces before his arrival.  Many here were far better prepared.  Tightening his grip on his white blade, he made to join them anyway.

A beaten red robe through a growing crowd, the guild leader still had mixed feelings regarding the affair. Going in blind was not something he would like to do, but the premise and possibility were too good to allow to pass by without some action. Hope for the best, Raidou pushes past, and with a beckoned silent hand, a few more shifts lose from the sea of faces. A grizzled male toting a large crate, a girl with orange hair passing an item to the small songstress. The play was about to begin as the actors took to the stage. A look around through obscured lenses with still a sense of uneasiness within his chest, but no longer would it control his actions. Some of the faces he recognized but most he had not.

The large male moves forward and drops the box with a hefty thud, a brunette male unfolds a table and places a few parcels upon it. "I sure hope you know what you are doing." the words stuck in his head like glue. "I don't, but we have no other options. Let lose the dogs of war."

But expect the worst...

A stare in the faceless masses direction beckons a sneer from Gaius, he doesn't like prying eyes such as these. Upon the table set he begins to unbundle the requested items, he couldn't help but feel the tension in the air. But it appeared this was going to happen, and hell maybe he'd get an honest fight out of it. Unfolding a widespread on the table, it was rather suited. A smell piques his interest and he couldn't help but partake of the second supplied meal. It was divine to say the least, despite how it may appear from the exterior. Raidou begins to layer the table next to his own setting, it was looking like a regular prom punch table cluttered with solo cups. "Any idea what the hell we are dealing with, this is enough to feed an army." Gaius asks the boy in red, but the response leaves much to leave desired. "Precisely."

A short frame through a rather looming bunch of dudes creating a wall. "Move your butt!" Shiina screeches before she lifts a hand, about to smack some random dudes backside. He shuffles away from the ravenous child. "Thank yah, yeesh just take up the whole....Book boi I am here." the girl exclaims with a fluttering wave of jazz hands. "Would you look at all this junk, nom." Shiina remarks taking a toothpick and skewering a piece of the spread. "Did you bring them?" the guild master asks softly. "Hayo did I!" she fires finger guns at the guild master, with a sliver of wood sticking out of her mouth like a mobster. Grabbing her armor like a shirt, she shuffles and shakes until crystals of all shades rain from the nooks they were stuffed in. "We got to get you a backpack dear." Simmone speaks as she rubs her hands to her forehead, as Shiina smiles wide and begins to scoop them off the floor before piling them onto the table. "Should still work with potatoes on it." before she notices Oscar, the lion slayer extrordinare! "Tall dude, High Five!" hoping he had remembered her after all this time.

It was quite the party, there were food and an innumerable amount of people present in a forming mob. It reminded her of her estate and was probably filled with equal idiots all the same. As Gaius and the others pile almost all the contents of the guild vault to the table, Simmone couldn't help but sigh. A mountain of wealth was about to meet the drain. But somehow she had expected this, the stockpiling had to be leading to some apex. Apparently this was it, and in response, she couldn't help but worry just a bit. She also couldn't help that most of the mob kept its distance, it was an omen. But those collected around the table piled upon it like swords from a forge. "If I must." Simmone remarks before a snap of her fingers produce a small satchel from gold light. Letting lose the drawstring she begins to add to the clutter.

Stats/Equipment/BRE in the spoiler above...

Violet stared around the arena with a bemused look on her face. There seemed to be a mad scramble for consumables and other objects that would help, even a few people considering the use of buffs like safeguards. While it was a reasonable concern, she didnt feel like going out of her way to buff herself for an event boss. Instead, she would just use a teleport crystal should it get dicey during the event. Violet only spotted 4 players she was familiar with: NIGHT, Arabelle, Pinball, and Mari, deciding that it would be best to just wait and see what happens. She flipped open her menu, equipping her cloak and mask, masking her appearance from sight. She really, really didnt want to interact with anyone else, so she simply decided to keep to herself, for now at least. Violet stroked Akame under her chin, eliciting soft coos and chirps from the small familiar. "Maa... I wonder how this is gonna go..?" she murmured to herself, waiting for the event to start with bated breath.

Steel boots clang as the knight traversed the cobblestone flooring of the 1st floor. It was like a dream come true … possible escape from this hellhole they have been calling home for … way too long. With each steep echoing through the anticipated streets of the first floor, Macradon, The Imperial Topaz, Vanguard Commander of the Knights of the Blood Oath, Grandmaster Blacksmith, Frontliner, Citizen of Aincrad, ventured towards the given place of possible recovery. As he arrived fully clad in prideful armor, Macradon nodded as he saw all those that had gathered. “It is good to see ready souls taking action!” he called out of the lot “Our times have been desperate, but it seems like it finally is time to escape, even though prematurely, I surely hope that everyone here is ready to give their all, to give their service to those that cannot help today, and to give their service for those that are not here anymore!”.

Macradon whipped the chain in his left hand and let go as his familiar, Belphegor the Cerberus, ignited its hellish red flames, engulfing the three headed doberman with a fury like ten thousand suns. Macradon would take a step forwards once again and bring out a cherished item of his from back then, it was a dire situation, so rather use it now than to waste a never-used slot. From his inventory, Macradon raised his <<Banner of Command>>, probably one of the only few left that could actually do anything. His banner was adorned with the KoB logo, not something he was too fond of anymore, but since that was his now, he would stand proud with it. “All those that are willing to stand under this standard, I will thank personally when we finally get out of this hellhole! My true name is Giang Hyunh, I am of Oriental Descent but live in the cold north of Europe! When we get out of here, contact me if necessary, and I will do my darndest to thank you for your services!” he roared out and stuck his banner of command into the ground outside the first floor’s entrance. “Now then ..” he said and sat down in a legged position “I’ll take my time and prepare.” he said and brought out all the food, snacks, and other consumables he would’ve prepared for the occasion.

With all his food being slurped up, munched down, drunk, expended, consumed, Macradon stood ready with everything he had, everything he wanted, everything he needed, to stand at the forefront of this possible siege, with all those that wanted to give him their aid.

“Citizen of Aincrad! Today might be the day true light shines upon us once again. Let us not falter, and show that Kayaba never stood a chance against the will of man!” he roared out, not fully prepared for whatever might show up.

Eruda spends every day after the mass message preparing with Firm Anima in this endeavor. Watching everyone run around like mad fools creating and piling on top of the already pile. Getting ready for the War that was soon to come but Eruda couldn't help to think of this as a huge trap. An extinction of higher players so that Kayaba would get his way to keep everyone in-game. She was sure that nothing good would come of this but she decided that no matter what the results were that she would try her damnedest to keep at least her guild upright. She was starting to warm up to the group and honestly, she didn't really want to leave this game for the simple fact that she would go back to having nothing besides her sister who was really not good support for her.

When the time came she gathered with Firm Anima in the beginning fields bringing Sam along. Partaking in the consumables prepared she stand next to Raidou with her sword and shield out. Not wanting to cause panic to the guild or the others that walked by them gathering in the same notion waiting for the inevitable to happen Eruda says to Raidou in a soft voice "I'm sure this crossed your mind already but what if this is a way for Kayaba to get rid of a big chunk of us. This just seems way too good to be true, I mean why would he bend the rules now just to let us leave unless there was a larger reason behind it. We are not even halfway through the floors so why now?" Eruda stands there now with her mind racing with all the different motives that could be for bringing this situation to the light. "Regardless I will do my best to be your shield and protect you from harm. Please trust that I will do everything in my power to see that you all are safe today" Eruda says with confidence in her voice looking to Firm Anima with her weapon and shield in hand. Eruda begins to focus on anything that may bring the group to harm.

Sam was everyone gathers to collect and creates everything in the guildhall as the week passed in what seemed like a lifetime in the small time. The morning of, Sam doesn't waste time as she follows Eruda to the beginning fields to join the others. She watches Eruda each something and decides to do the same as she wanted to also be prepared. The mass amount of people that were surrounding the area and she looks to Eruda making sure that she was okay with a large amount of people and then Eruda started to speak. She was surprisingly confident and Sam smiles. Sam started to prepare herself mentally for getting out of this hell hoping that Kayaba wasn't just messing with them. Hoping that they were not just dogs on leashes waiting to be kicked if they didn't obey. Sam stands next to Simmone after partaking in some of the meals and potions and such laying around.

"Snow, I'm scared." The little girl, under ten years of age, buried her face into the white fabric ruffles between her faulds' plates. Her hands gripped tightly to the metal that covered Snow's hip and abdomen.

"Are you going to be okay?" A young teenage girl in average starting gear asked.

"I hope so," replied Snow with a waver of uncertainty in her tone. Her armored hand tussled the little girl's hair. "It's okay. I'll make sure nothing happens to you."

The teen folded her arms over her chest and bit her lip at Snow's reply. "I don't think it's a good idea, Snow. You haven't been out there that long. You have never participated in something like this."

The valkyrie knelt down beside the little girl and she held her out by the shoulders. Tears welled in the child's eyes as they met Snow's blue gaze.

"I have strong friends now, Terraria." Snow's thumb helped to blot away the tears as they ran down the child's cheeks. "And you just need to keep inside with Terraria, okay Lippi?"

Lippi nodded as she rubbed at her eyes. Snow turned her toward the unimpressed Terraria and gave a gentle push of encouragement. The girl ran and clung to the other girl's leg.

"That's not a good reason. You barely know these people. How can you count on them to keep you alive?" Terraria chided. Her hand covered Lippi's ears to prevent scarring her further. Snow rose and tried to scrunch her expression into something more serious or confident. The display failed to win any rewards for authenticity.

"These people are the same as the one's fighting on the higher floors. They just won't stand by and let other players just die. I'm not scared anymore. This is what I have to do. For us, for me, and for those who aren't with us anymore." As she spoke, the fire of determination grew on each following word. The final statement alone stole the wind from Terraria's sails and filled the room with a morose silence. Snow placed her hand on the girl's shoulder.

"I'll be fine," came words filled with genuine sincerity. "Just keep the young ones inside."

Snow's brow furrowed and her attention scattered to the reaches of the poorly furnished halfway home.

"Have you seen Isaac?"

"No," Terraria replied with a shake of her head. "When you told Emma you were going, he ran off. You know how much he looks up to you. I don't think he wants you to go either. Probably doesn't want you to see him upset."

Snow frowned.

"Well, if you do see him, tell him I'm sorry. I promise to make it up to him when this is over. I'll bring him a souvenir.

Terraria scowled.

"Okay okay, how about when this is over, I'll bring down some sushi from my restaurant and we'll have another big feast with everyone like we used to. Okay?

Terraria's scowl did not faulter, but her reply betrayed her stern expression.

"Okay, but do you promise?"

"I promise, Terraria." Snow looked down to Lippi with a smile. "You too Lippi, I'll bring some mochi, okay?"

Through reddened cheeks and puffy eyes, a smile broke through and the girl smiled with a nod.

"Good."

Snow's attention was gripped by an extended pinky from Terraria, an age old tradition and childhood memory of sealing a promise. The little girl at her side followed suit and two little fingers waited for reply. Snow took a deep breath and in silence, she hooked her smallest finger of each hand with theirs.

"Alright," Snow broke the silence. "It's almost time. I'll see you two soon."

"Be safe," Terraria demanded. Lippi nodded.

"I will. You too." Snow turned and left her old room of the halfway home in the residential quarter of the Town of Beginnings. A tall matronly figure intercepted her at the door to the city's streets.

"You shouldn't make promises you know you can't keep, Snow." Yggdra folded her arms and glared down the blonde with cold, narrowed eyes. Snow felt a pang of guilt and judgement which quickly receded to a newfound sense of purpose.

"I know, but I will come back, Yggdra. Just keep an eye on them."

"You had better, Alyssa, or I will never forgive you for hurting those children." The full figured woman kept her threatening gaze fixed on Snow as she opened the door. Hearing her real name forced Snow's stomach into her feet. Yggdra watched over them and became the housemother for all those who feared the outside. Over the time they spent together, some shared their real names out of familiarity and refusal to accept this new reality over the old one. Yet, Yggdra only used real names when she truly became upset.

Snow gulped and nodded.

"Now go. Get out of here before you fill them with more false hope." The words stung. Yggdra lost her husband in the first few days while he tried to teach her the ropes of the new game. Since then, she looked down on players that took to the fields. She believed all of them saw this as some kind of game despite the contrary. She saw it as unnecessary risk and believed someone on the outside would liberate all those trapped in Kayaba's prison. It was a common belief in the halfway homes, but one to which Snow no longer clung.

Snow left the home with mixed feelings. The streets of the Town of Beginnings lacked the usual traffic. Players either gathered for the event, made way to the town's edge to see if they could catch a glimpse of the action, or hunkered down in fear something might happen in town. Snow's heavy greaves rattled against the smooth cobble stones as she departed. Her heart hung heavy on those who worried for her safe return, but her determination carried her feet onward. Even with the lingering tension of fear deep in her lungs, Snow wanted to protect whoever she could. She wanted to fight. She wanted to survive.

I will come back....

He would walk up to the arena as he got there he would look over the mod of player that had gathered. There were a lot of players that he had meet before and a lot of new face. He would take a few of the consumables. there was no way that he was ready for this even. But most evens were great to see how the sever was doing. He would cross his arms over his chest he was sure that macradons speech could be heard across the floor.

He did want to get his pet to help with the healing but meh hopeful his armor and the buffs would be enough. He did think that this was a way out of then game but  maybey the gear that would drop will help players move to the front line.

The bright sun of the first floor was a much different feeling from the harsh winters of floor four. After what felt like more and more weeks of seclusion with no messages received from Titan. Shay couldn't help but feel somewhat discouraged to try and level up at this point. She had spent weeks in her home, just playing her piano and relaxing in the warmth of the hot springs. This, however, was something that Shay just couldn't stay away from. There was a chance that this event would allow players to leave the game. While she had no qualms about leaving this world, she continued to wonder what she would even be returning to.

The crowd was larger than expected. Tons of people were here to see if this message really was just more than troll from Kayaba, which is what she expects it to be. It seemed that there was some high level players around though, so they would likely be safe to help. A table had been laid out with buffing foods, so it would be best to partake in those before the fight started. Better safe than sorry in case this turned out to be the real deal.
