[F??] The Black Odyssey (R5/R5[Maxed]/Merchants) (Closed)

Recommended Posts

"You want to know something interesting?" Bahr mused as he strode into the shop. "I could have sworn I had at least five of these lying around. Can't seem to find them anywhere. Haven't heard of snacks growing legs and running away in Aincrad recently, have you? I'm not joking - stranger shit has happened in the past. I vaguely remember a fight against three extremely muscular..." Thinking better of it, Bahr cut himself off. "Ah... Anyways, here's your money. I appreciate being so quick with the delivery of these. I need them for where I'm going."

Having likely fulfilled the word requirement for such a barter, Bahr placed the payment on the counter, collected his food, swiveled on his heel and exited with the building with all the style and pizzazz of a drunk sailor ice skating across the lake during a Star-Crossed Lovers event fight.

"Bahr sent me," NIGHT had said. The look on her face was completely serious-- it was almost as though the man hadn't just stumbled right into the store and walked out of it two minutes ago. "I'm here for the demonic armor piece you'd been handed from him? Said it's been sitting here idle for a while..."

Such a shame that those enhancements had been of little use to the man. On the other hand, it seemed like a direct upgrade from what NIGHT was keen on using for her own purposes. "If there's any payment that needs to be resolved for, let me know about the bill."

Walking around the corner many times for the door opening, a young-looking female walks in with loads and loads of junk for Sam to sell. Sam was very excited to get this started but knew that it was going to take sometime before she was done with the huge contribution given. With some words of thanks, Sam tells the lad that she will message her when this is done and mentions that it might take a while given the portion of the loot. With a mutual nod toward each other, she whistles for the twins who knew what needed to be done already and was already starting to move the items or organize them to their proper categories. Sam smiles as the lad walks out, Sam starts to help with the loot.

After a trip to the Bazar and a crap ton of junk sold, she arrives back to the shop with a smile across her face as she pats both the girl's heads. This took a few days to go through but she managed to complete the task final as she sends a message to Bistro letting her know.

Bistro, This is Sam from The Black Odyssey. I just wanted to let you know that the junk has been gone through and sold properly. I will be sending you you Col here shorty. Thank you for choosing The Black Odyssey and we hope to see you again.

The best crafters would only receive their wares from certain providers, either based on prestige or their equipment maker's exceptional quality. Daemien relied on the latter, sauntering into the Black Odyssey and giving the twin assistants a nod.

"Ladies. Been looking for an ambition item as of late. Think you could help me out?"

If they'd proceeded to handle his request themselves, he'd entrust a single col pouch to them; otherwise, it was most likely the catch of yet another shop assistant that caught his eye, one to whom he'd wave and explain his request to. Either way, he would get what he'd needed for his future work. The man shuffled back towards the settlement, a new skillet in tow.

Baldur pushed his way into the merchants shop. He didn't normally frequent other merchants, but Raidou had sent him a message to come by the shop and pick something up. As he pushed his way into the traditional looking fantasy shop, he saw the walls lined with manequins for armor and weapon mounts hung on all sides. It appeared the store had everything in stock except for a hand in a jar.

He squinted.

Was that a hand in a jar on the top shelf in the back? He wouldn't quite make it out, before a young woman popped up to welcome him to her master's shop.

"Ah... yes... I'm Baldur. I believe I am expected? Raidou asked me to come by the shop, he said he had something to help out with the boss raid."

Offering a subtle bow, while Sam was handling the other prospective patron that was Daemien. A pink haired NPC was quickly matched to another in light blue. They bow in unison "Aye. The mistress has been expecting you." They scatter like mice, opening a paper screen and to its hasty slide open a billowing fog of soot from an ashtray lingered. Murmuring's can be heard between Moro and Maru, with a third more deeper tone but clearly a woman.

Mere seconds pass as Maru the blue haired seems to appear with the smoke leaving a trail as she breaches, grabs a red pillow after diving into a cabinet with a rattle. A lid to a jar rolls off aimlessly into a corner as she slinks to her feet, patting herself and the linen before looking to the patron in a huff and a smile. "The mistress will see you now!" paying the Gaijin Samurai a bow before scattering back into the obscurity.

Once the samurai would follow behind the NPC child, sitting in a recliner of red drawing from a long holder a cigarette. Listing softly with a flare of gold in her eyes she speaks softly to Moro "Yes that is the one. Zanshin, the sheer of the mortal coil." Who clanks the weapon shut into its ivory sheathe. "Raidou has convinced me you have done us a great service, he found this one one of his journey's. According to him, it has no more suitable a wielder. I am eager to see what he could mean." Simmone offers a bat of an eye lash in a way its hard to tell if she's being sincere, but none the less the NPC girl rushes and bows herself lifting the weapon in its saya to its new master.

Given to Baldur:

Baldur knelt down on the cushion as he watched the girl scramble about for the blade while her master lounged and smoked. It was definitely an interesting shop, and the shopkeeper seemed to have some air of mystery about her. Finally, the blue haired girl came forward with a katana in its ivory saya. Baldur bowed his head slightly to the two woman as he accepted the blade. When he closed his hands upon it, the stat window came up and Baldur's eyebrows raised slightly. Now more interested, Baldur pushed the sword free with a thumb against the tsuba and half drew the blade so he could admire the hamon. It jagged as he expected, given the <<bleed>> enhancement on the blade. Typically he would have a paralysis blade and a bleed blade at his side whenever he reached a new tier, but the absolute accuracy over-ruled his desire for either. Now he had something both unerring, and able to improve his damage.

"Please extend my greatest thanks to Raidou-san. This is a present greater than I think I have earned from him, but I shall put it to good use, that I can promise."

He sheathed the blade and laid it in front of him as he gave her a deep a bow.

"Thank you for your time and for this gift. I shall be putting it to use in the Floor raid coming up soon."

He took the blade, slipped it into his obi and stood. Bowed once more, and then departed.

Chase opened the door energetically, humming and throwing his head left and right. By the time he was at the counter, his menu was already open and offering a whole heap of Col to Sam, as if he knew what he wanted beforehand- of course he did. "Tell Gran to give me two hundred tier ones if you please, I'll need those for some personal business~.". Oh, the joy of being so careless and forgetting the imminent death he'd be in, had the shop owner actually heard him. Not like he could even bother to worry about that right now though, all was good and life was happy as ever with his new weapon.

Sigurd strode confidently into the shop. She had business to conduct. Things to and materials to sell. The starter package had been rather kind to her, giving her additional materials to sell, which would allow her to buy even more gear that she desperately needed to continue her quest. So far she had managed to get by, barely surviving, but that time was done. She needed to push ahead, and put her plans into motion. That was what the blue haired woman had told her. Succeed, beat the game, get out. That required her to make her move.

She approached the counter, placing her hands on it and clearing her throat gently. "Excuse M-m-m-me. I h-h-h-have some b-b-business to discus. I n-n-n-need to sell some m-m-m-materials." Damn her stutter. She had managed to get by without much talking, but it was during these kinds of interactions that she couldn't hide it anymore. While she stammered out her request she pulled open the shop window and began browsing the items for sale, noting a few things that caught her eye.

A pair of placid and unjudging pair of NPC looked at the woman unfazed by her speech, after her order had been placed they curtsey and scatter while valiantly decreeing "Aye!". Maru with her vibrant pink dives headfirst into a cabinet to the rattle of a few jars. Moro opens an overhead container and removes a heavy bag of coin she struggles to pull down. To her Sigurd's side, the pink topped manifestation lifts a silver platter to which the player could place what she intended to sell. The other picked out a scale and began calibrating it with a couple of brass weights.

Simmone offers:
300 Col per unit (T1)
600 Col per unit (T2)
750 Col per unit (T3)

Without another word Sigurd placed all of her materials upon the platter. 25 Units of Materials instantly leaving her inventory. For some this might seem silly, but they served her no real purpose right now. Besides she would be able to attain more once she got her gear set and was able to run her own hunting parties. This was all to plan, a solid plan, a good one, one that she had spent several nights preparing. The two NPC's who were handling the transaction were quick and efficient, working in tandem to make the transaction smooth. She admired that, it made it easier for her to get through things. On top of that she wasn't much of a fan of speaking, especially to new people.

With the shop window open, she began to check off boxes. One was to signify she wanted the tier 1 gear package. One weapon, one armor, and two trinkets. Sort of a beginner value bundle so to speak. She also began checking off the items she wanted on the bundle. An intricate bone dagger, a simple looking collection of clothing, a skull, and a curious looking pendant. Each one had stats that she would need to advance, they also had a certain aesthetic that she liked. She wasn't too concerned about the pricing, being certain that her materials would cover the cost with change left over. She even took a moment to add a pair of immolation potions to her purchase, something she had learned would be rather useful in her endeavors. With her order picked out she clicked to accept, and awaited the system and the NPC's to do their work.

Accepting all that she wished to purchase, Moro begins to way a pouch out and adding carefully all the objects the woman had found. After a sub tally in equity the remaining is placed in a dark brown sack and a rip tie pulled snaps it shut. Maru plucked the pieces of gear off the walls within the building and checked them for wear to assure they were still at full durability, before piling them up and holding them aloft to the patron. The blue haired NPC with a bag of coin, and a pink haired with all the gear requested they bowed slightly. "Thank you for your patronage at the Black Odyssey." while a sharp exhale from behind a screen door seems to play on its own.

Sigurd accepted the goods and her change, before opening her inventory to investigate her purchases. She hesitated a moment looking at the col she had left. It was still a large amount. She had not been expecting so much in her account at this point, yet here it was. On top of that her gear was all perfect. This had to be some sort of error, yet somehow she had to guess this was not. It was hard to think that a business could keep open offering such good prices for things. Then again loyalty would keep them going. There had to be a steady stream of players coming and going to help maintain this shop. She vowed then to be one of them, bring in her unneeded materials for a small profit.

She equipped her new items. The outfit hugged her frame and provided cover. Its weight was reassuring, though it was not so heavy to burden her. Her new dagger was perfectly matched to her, its obscure shape, and intricate carvings seemed like it could deliver crippling wounds with even the slightest prick, and the skull now clutched in her left hand seemed to resonate with energy. Everything came together to build the look of someone who was not to be messed with. Sigurd smiled gently as she pulled up her hood and made for the exit, stopping at the door for a moment. :Th-th-thank you..." She managed to stutter before slipping out the door.

And with another trip back to Simmone, this time it was for much less business than all of the rest. He wanted a blank map to note any interesting and worthwhile findings in, letting out a deep sigh and walking towards the counter before grinning and clapping his hands. "Don't mind if I take this, Sam. Maybe four more...", he told the assistant owner and sent the Col right to her, humming. He was about to set off on his little adventure after all, and he didn't want a single minute of exploring to go to waste given how taxing it was and how well he had to prepare for this.

If the shop had found her again, who was she to deny its presence?

(By all means, NIGHT would've wanted to keep walking. But her instincts were wanting, and there was only one place she could imagine would satisfy her need for a weapon change.)

Aside from the awful stench of the store, there was, in fact, something of great interest to the player on display. Curious. And yet none of her col might've satisfied the shop owner, she knew. One look at the blade she'd had on, and then another to one of the shop's assistants.

"Hey," she called out to one of them, summoning forth Dragon's Gaze. "You think this would make for an amicable trade?"

After a fair while from his last visit for materials, Chase entered the shop silently and greeted the two NPCs before heading straight for the counter. He placed a batch of weapons and armors on the counter, alongside what seemed like a trinket further by the side. "Lady, I've some items I want you to appraise. Weapons, armors, and a demonic trinket. I'm sure you can find something more than just 'good' for them, so please tell me whenever they're ready.", he asked of her with a small smile, waiting for her to peek out the back of the store to start identification. "And have this for good luck as well.", he nodded off, handing Simmone a Witch's Brew from his quests.
