A burning light like a holy beacon welled in the gauntlet of the paladin. Her glistening shield was ready to unleash devastation upon such adorable creatures. This is how it must be little bunnies.

With a flash of pink and a hit of golden resonance, Yuki's fist embeds itself into the Dark Chocolate Bunny. She struggled momentarily to free herself, but soon she pulled loose her arm and found a chunk of the bunnies body in her fist. As it faded back into the cardinal, Yuki took a bite of the chocolate. 

It was delicious.

She went in for another bite, but unfortunately, the chocolate piece faded away in her hand. The durability fading away too fast. With that out of the way, the only thing that was remaining was the Frosted Bunny who was literally hanging on by a thread. The DoT damage would finish it off in a matter of seconds and their first encounter would be wrapped up without any problems.

She didn't even have to commit to another art when she materialized. The moment they'd isolated the Frosted Bunny from its fallen peers, all she had to do was snap her fingers.

Away it went.

Crystals still raining down on the party, NIGHT finally peered over her shoulders to acknowledge her companions, giving their health bars a look over once again to make sure they hadn't sustained major damage. Good; the squad seemed to work together well. Even though she'd only fought with Yuki so far, so long as their enemies were dead by the end of the trip and the players were still in once piece, NIGHT bet she could get along with them fine enough.

It was just when she was about to mention something that her interface kicked in a notification. A reward for her fighting performance...?

Another Life Mending Trinket.

NIGHT cursed under her breath, before turning around completely to the others, summoning the necklace in her hand. "Anyone want this...?"

Hidden watched as the rest of the enemies were taken care of. "You know guys, that was kinda too easy. I mean we hardly got the chance to even att-"A notification screen popped up. 'Lifemending Trinket? Definitely a useful item, but what use do I have for it? Perhaps I could trade with some support for something of better value or something like that.' She closed the screen and looked to her team. This NIGHT player was certainly something. In fact, she intended to try to be a little bit nicer to her just to ensure she didn't get on the girl's bad side. That Trickster build of her was working wonders against enemies like these. She wasn't sure of its practicality in boss fights since they were pretty immune to most damage over time effects.  Then there was Raidou, the support that was somehow dealing more damage than her. He was supposed to be some dodge tank, not able to strike enemies for more than she who was focused entirely o single-target damage output. 'Getting the feeling that Dagger just really sucks.' she would think to herself.

Raidou recovers 58 from battle healing

With a flash, they were gone with a snap of NIGHT's fingers the DoT moves to fruition as Yuki shield bashes the other to pieces. "None for me thanks." Raidou comments to Yuki eating a handful of the stuff. "Exactly, all according to plan." as a notification drops a small necklace, the very same as those around him. "Must be scripted." Raidou comments at the drop being the same for those involved. "How is everyone holding up?" he remarks as he inspects the group's bars on the side of his HUD, notably the only damage sustained was his own. Good

Adjusting his glasses on his face for a moment, while a turn of the wrist adds the strange trinket to his inventory. Perhaps it would serve some use down the road, but it would do little to his development. Raidou then takes to fixing his equipment in silence, his robe, and the belt that affixed his sheath across his torso.

Yuki got the same exact necklace that the rest of the group had gotten. It must be a standard drop for the entire group, still Yuki thought about Night's proposal. She knew an upcoming healer that could make use of such an item if Night was willing to part with it. "I'll take it." She said to Night. "I got the same one, but I know a person that would really appreciate the item and I could probably use one as well since one of the last skills I intend to buy could be First Aid."

Now wasn't the time to be trading gear though. They had another boss to collect on. The next area's entrance was but a skip away. The group was ushered through and locked into the next room... with a ginormous peep. She didn't think that the last boss could be topped, but there you go.

"Raidou, I'm tanking. You focus damage. It does nothing to me and my thorns will help kill it faster." The paladin walked into the battle field nonchalantly and slashed her sword across the peeps front side. It simply reached down and pecked her in retaliation.

Ability: Every three turns, the Peep splits into smaller Peeps. Players then have the opportunity to play Chubby Bunny with the peeps by rolling a CD. The CD corresponds to the number of Peeps one can shove down their gullet and still speak. After the Chubby Bunny phase, the Giant Peep reforms and players gain bonuses equal to the amount of Peeps they ingested.

"Here you go."

NIGHT tossed the trinket idly towards Yuki, making sure that her friend could receive the throw. When their paladin lead them towards a door framed with candy cane, she followed, still confused at the architecture of their locale. Gingerbread walls that were partially framed by steel? Was that hardened sugar icing lining the sides of the room? It looked almost like Christmas, except it wasn't the time for festivities yet. The whole experience just felt a little off.

She hadn't bothered slipping her way into the shadow realm this time; the player figured she'd have enough time to decide upon laying eyes on their next set of targets to maim. When it was revealed that their opponent was going to be a giant, over sized bird marshmallow, NIGHT imagined things were going to be okay.

A white glow, her sword cast to the side. In one strike, she tore at the peep's health bar. It dropped, but not by as much as she'd been expecting. Talk about one tough bird.

From the sound of it, they all received the same life mending trinket. 'Bother I hoped they would have something I coulda traded mine for.' she followed the group into the next group, doing her best to not look at the aesthetics. It was going to make her sick just by looking it. Their opponent. A literal Giant Peep. A marshmellow bird. "Oh god i'm not liking this dungeon." She stated distastefully. 

Darting forward, she would slash the creature with her dagger, the sticky feeling of her dagger sinking in to its body was sickening. Judging by the effects though, it had a massive amount of health. "Wonder if its gonna like... explode or something. If we don't kill it fast enough its gonna like almost kill us." she noted aloud. She watched Raidou prepare to attack. She was gonna pay close attention. Her mind had to be playing tricks on her. There was no way he could deal that much damage now.

Raidou Recovers 58 HP from Battle Healing (Also corrected for OOC Healing vs. BH)

A glimmer as the next group took the shape of one massive yellow monstrosity of crystalized sugar. "What a waste." Raidou comments shifting his feet deep "I'll leave it to you." before a sudden burst of speed tears a yellow light in a trail with the wind at his back. A cross swipe of light burns a blackened blotch as the marshmallow bends and contorts from the heat of solar energy. The attack and the damage come first before the vacuum catches up to him, causing his robe to flutter at his back. Placing a heel against the creature and using the momentum to kick off of it, he returns the blade to neutral with a tad bit of the energy dispersing and adjusting his glasses. "Maybe I need some tape." he comments silently to himself, starting to become aware of how often his glasses needed fixing on his face.

Barely even a full round into the combat and the group had chunked the poor little marshmallow down to a fourth of it's maximum health points. Still they have yet to see any of it's native abilities yet, and Hidden was thinking the same thing that she was. While it may not explode or anything, it could surely do something crazy, sporting around minimal damage that it has.

"Be on your guard in case anything funky happens." The paladin says, slashing her sword through the peep once again. It retaliates once more with it's simple peck attack, doing absolutely nothing to the pink wall of steel in front of it. It was going to have to try harder than that if it wanted to breach her and not kill it's self against her thorns. She watched it's health points drain even further into the deep end and grinned. Being third tier was the shit.

Oh, her and her greedy executioner. One moment her allies were speaking about how the peep might've been a ticking time bomb that would threaten to execute them all in one blow. In the next, both the blade and the player agreed upon meting out a cruel reaper's punishment. The weapon seeped out a viscous poison, leaking through its edge, staining the orange lining with a glistening, dark oil. Their unfortunate victim found its light, fluffy skin smeared with an ugly, bubbling black, eating away at its form and seeping into its porous sugary insides.

When NIGHT drew her sword back, all she could focus on was how hollowed the being had looked on the inside. A good bite-mark's indentation had seemed to form on the peep's model, as she watched it bounce unmenacingly around the room, trying to waddle its way over to attack Yuki -- for marginal damage at that.

"Doesn't look like a threat to me."

Once again, their combined efforts seemed to be way too much for the enemies to handle. She charged in forward, slashing at the monsters's marshmellow body, adding several new gashes into the mix. It health dropped into the yellow zone, indicating that there were at 50% maximum health remaining. Hidden fell beack, a bored expression sitting on her face. "I was really hoping that there would be a real challenge today. You know, like a boss suited for this many players. One that doesn't die instantly and takes a good amount of strategy to take it down."

Hidden stopped behind Yuki who she would tell, "If the rewards are what I just got, you heard a little bit wrong  about the quality of them. I'm not sure how many players could actually use a trinket such as this. Though, im also not too sure how a weapon would be any good for me. My build is already pretty solid of course."

Raidou heals 58 from Battle Healing

A consistent pattern on repeat as Yuki was holding it back, as NIGHT and Hidden we're piercing past the obvious barricade it had. Another slash from Raidou causes a slice to which a trail of energy follows its vacuum causing more of the creature's shape to distort and swell, not quite at the magnitude of where NIGHT had struck which was starting to look like misshapen yellow clay being burned to a crisp. "Less than half, only a bit longer." Raidou comments checking his remaining energy and deeming it should last till the end at this rate. It screeches in disdain at the player's unyielding assault in the myriad shade, beginning to swell of its own accord in a hideous mass of cartoonish color and eldritch horror as if preparing something. To those of questionable stability, it could drive them to madness with the weird blend of happy and gruesome.

As the paladin went in her for her next attack, she heard Hidden's voice behind her. She was complaining about her loot drop, which was somewhat reasonable. Even if the trinket was a unique item, not many could make use of the effect. If only Aincrad had more healers.

"The first drop likely wasn't that lucky. I'm sure that the last boss will have some good gear. And it isn't my fault if the bosses are two easy or not. I didn't create them." She replied making a slash at the giant peep. Just as she swiped, however, the massive marshmallow bird exploded into a mass of peeps. Yuki caught one in her free hand and shoved it in her mouth. Did they finish it off with that attaack? No there were still some peeps sliding and jumping around. 

"Quick! Chubby bunny!" Yuki called out, not realizing that this was an actual mechanic with the boss fight.

It was the burst of confetti from the ceiling and the unceremonious rolling of a banner from above that she'd halted her attack mid swing, its shadow draping over her form like a shallow head pat from Cardinal itself. When the peep burst into multiple smaller itself, NIGHT had fallen backwards in shock, the light fading from her sword.

The system... was demanding they played Chubby Bunny.

 

What the hell was Chubby Bunny.

She'd taken Yuki's cue to pick a few peeps and pop them into her mouth. This didn't work very well -- not only was NIGHT highly uncertain of the repercussions of doing so, the fact that Jack's Executioner had tainted most of the original peep's form meant that there were quite the variety of sullied, disfigured darkened marshmallow birdies bouncing around the field. In her confusion, NIGHT only picked up a handful nearby that seemed clean enough to eat -- and then left it at that when the event came to a stop.

The boon she'd gotten for her troubles? Burn II.

Useless.

Yuki slashed at the giant marshmallow opponent and it exploded into several smaller versions of itself. Yuki would shout chubby bunny and begin to gorge herself on the smaller specimens. "Chubby bunny?" Hidden would question. She had heard of it before but never played it. She watched as NIGHT shoved a few in her mouth. "Okay then." She would mutter, and begin to force the marshmallow birds into her mouth. She managed to fit a total of eight before she began to gag, choking on the marshmallow candies. 'They taste awful. Am I gonna get poisoned from this?'

"chubbeh bunneh" she would say before swallowing. A sense of dread washed over her as she fought the urge to vomit. 'That was awful' she thought to herself before her eyes caught Raidou. Even though he couldn't see it, her face reddened and whether he was looking at her or not she would shout, "Don't look at me!" and turn away hiding her embarrassment and shame. Stuffing as many marshmallows into her mouth as possible wasn't the thing that a cloaked player was suppose to indulge in. Or a girl. Yuki had the bubbly personality to match, but Hidden didn't.

Raidou was completely confused about what the group had just brought to his attention, having absolutely no past experience he simply picks one from the floor. It was sweet, too sweet for his tastes. "Now what?" the nomad asked the others attempting to simply emulate what the others were doing, after consuming it without successfully playing the game. The glory of having little social based knowledge meant that induced and produced functions such as these were not known. He would stand by trying to decipher what he was doing, perplexed to no end looking to others around him for insight when his eyes meet Hidden plastered redder than a lobster. "What, why?" Raidou asked looking to his hands and his own reflection through his lenses in attempts to figure out of there was something on his face. The giant pepe was now just as idle as he was, waiting for things to progress away from the mass hysteria.

The peep soon reformed into it's massive form. All the tiny peeps were gone and Yuki swallowed the one in her gullet. Annoying that she could only get ahold of one before they reformed but whatever, as long as it died, that's all that mattered to her. Raising her blade to the peep, it reaches down to peck her and stabs its face on the point of Durandal.

"Ha, this thing is completely stupid. I doubt we'll get as much experience for this one, but hopefully the gear is good." She mentions as she releases her blade form the giant marshmallow and gives it a quick wipe away. "Everyone doing alright? I'm not sure if we'll need to rest before we move on to the next boss or even how many are coming after this one. We had better be ready for it."

With that said, the paladin walked a little more forward to ensure that the peep focused her.

It was rather understandable for NIGHT to have been unimpressed by the system's distributions of their gifts. While the party's tanks had gotten decent buffs (Phase! Phase was impressive!), with Hidden obtaining Holy (!!!!!) things seemed on the up and up.

But not for NIGHT and her Burn II. Incredibly, Cardinal seemed to have other plans for her and her sacred, wretched blade.

In the art following her consumed marshmallow peepers, Jack's Executioner lit up like a firework on the fourth of July. It was raging -- nay, it was consumed by flames of raw vitriol and ebony, a dark singeing shadow that flickered in and out of eternity. Just the wielding of this fire burned at her hands, heart and soul, but NIGHT's focus hadn't been on her sword's latent blazing energies.

They'd been set on destroying the mantle of the peep that had reformed in the downturn of their feast.

Three quick strides and she'd engulfed the sugary tit in a black blaze, a hell-raising demonic pillar swirling to devour its target whole. The sight had almost sent NIGHT down on her behind as she stepped back, caught off guard by the nature of her enhanced attack's power.

Whatever Burn III was, NIGHT surely hadn't expected that to happen.

Of course, Raidou was an idiot and didn't understand what she meant by her telling him not to look at her. Her attention was drawn from her embarrassment as a notification appeared in front of her:

She frowned. Where did that come from? Eating the marshmallows? She looked to her dagger which almost blinded her. It was as if the light came from the sun itself. A blistering heat was noticeable and it was almost as if it threatened to burn all of the darkness inside of her away. She stepped forward, her weapon becoming heavier with each step. The extra power was almost uncontrollable. It wanted to escape, to destroy the darkness from everything in sight. As NIGHT moved out of the way, flames were left to smolder on the ground and the Giant Marshmallow bird was engulfed in flames. 'There she goes, outdoing me again.' Hidden thought. 

The girl rose her dagger into the air where it began to shine even more furiously. The blade elongated into a longsword of pure-white, much to heavy for her to handle. A white aura surrounded her body, her cloak's black color being shifted into white. Her hood transformed into a golden crown that covered her face with white veil's. Her cloak elongated until it was as if she was wearing the armor of an angel. The weapon now felt more comfortable in her hand. 

Darting forward, she would arrive next to the monster in only a second, bringing down the holy weapon onto its body. An explosion of white light emitted from the scene, blinding the entire area. The ground gave to the force of the attack, cracking and crumbling. A tempest of wind emitted from the shockwave itself, sending debris flying to the other side of the room.

As the light faded, Hidden and her dagger returned to their normal state. The ground was now white-hot with smoke rising from it. The boss was nowhere to be seen. Hidden blinked, a headache coming on from the flash of light. However, her excitement got the better of her. "That. Was. AWESOME!" A smile lit up her face and she celebrated. Despite having single-handedly destroying the room, she was now rather happy. "I want more of that!" she said happily. Hidden herself, for at least the moment, was unguarded by the persona she threw up to protect herself.

Just like his own weapon, Hidden is consumed by solar fire, but hers is supercharged into an extreme burst of light. It was a maelstrom of power from these DPS in polar opposing energy that caused the beast to languish into nothing, nothing more than a black spot upon the ground and what looked like particles of ash on a gentle breeze. "Efficient." Raidou comments just a single word as a notification rings on his HUD. It was a reward for the creature's deconstruction, and he couldn't help but notice the effect still stuck to the bottom of his health bar. "Phase?" the term was new to him, choosing to ignore it and see what had dropped. A big peep with interesting modifiers that seemed quite powerful, but on such a strange food. "what a waste." he mutters in response, a diabetes filled hunk of frosted sugar did not sound all that appetizing to the swordsman.
