KATOKA Katsumi was not born into a rich family, however her father made enough being a salary businessman that her, her mother, and eventually her younger sister could live comfortably. The four of them lived in an older style house in the city that was passed down for many generations in the family. When Katsumi was in middle school she became interested in online video games after a boy she liked talked her into trying them. Soon it became her daily routine to finish quests and collect daily rewards in her favorite mmos. This gave her a reputation as an otaku and she was bullied for a period of time, which made her dive deeper into mmos. Once she graduated middle school Katsumi made it a point to go to a high school where there wouldn’t be anyone she knew. With this fresh start and a better idea of how to manage her social time and gaming, she managed to make a few friends and keep her hobby a secret. When the Nerve Gear and SAO were announced it was like a new calling for Katsumi. She talked her father into using his corporate connections at the software company he worked at to get access to one of the coveted 10,000 copies of the game. TRAITS   Reveal hidden contents Virtues: Loyal - Due to her inability to open up to others that she isn’t close to, Katsumi manages to remain very loyal to the friends she does have. She loves them very dearly and would do anything for them no matter what. This allows her to forge strong bonds with the people she keeps closest to her. Passionate - Katsumi has always put her all into the things she does. Her drive to complete tasks on a daily basis is something that she feels very strongly about. It doesn’t matter how big or small the job is, she will finish it with the same amount of focus as any other task. Accepting - Since she was bullied at a young age Katsumi tends to be very accepting of the people she is close to. Although it takes time for her to warm up to a person, she will not think ill of them for whatever their hobbies or passions are. She doesn’t care about what they look like or who/what they like, as long as they are kind and good to others she welcomes them. Flaws: Anxious - When she was bullied for her love of video games it became hard for Katsumi to open up to those close to her. Her anxiety about her personal life was something that gripped her daily. Due to this it is hard for her to open up to anyone about her likes and dislikes unless it is someone she has grown close to. Obsessive - Katsumi has always enjoyed order and routine in her life, whether it be her school, home, or collecting of daily quests in games. Her room and the things she kept in it were always immaculate, she even kept a notebook at her desk with a log of her planned quests and research for future ones. However if anything were to prevent her from completing her daily routines it would cause her to panic until she can get back on track, or find something to do to distract her. Impatient - When it comes to completing a task, if Katsumi can’t complete it within the first two tries, it begins to irritate her. The same goes with if she can’t keep to her personal schedule. This katana emits static of plasma energy when wielded by one that is worthy. Foes that are unlucky enough have been cut by it's edge are paralyzed by the infectious disease caused by the tainted blade. The saya that contains the putrid weapon is a specially treated bamboo, dipped into water blessed by monks to make sure it's power is contained within. The saya is wrapped and painted a dark purple, nearly black to the naked eye. The tsuka is wrapped in a similarly dark purple cloth, a blackened metal tsuba separates the blade from the handle. | [X] Iridescent Edge T4 Perfect Katana -- Damage 2 | Bleed 1 An exquisitely crafted katana smithed from crusite to be agile and deadly. It's edge honed so sharp it could cut enemies in twain with little effort. When the light hits the metal of the blade just right, it seems to almost glow. The Tsuka is wrapped in a sturdy but soft, white material. The Saya that the blade rests in is the same radiant white as the weapon's wrapping. Using sakura tree wood varnished in white sealant ensures everlasting beauty while the equally colored silk wrapped tsuka offers durability and a controlled grip for even the fiercest of battles. Ruler - First companion on any quest and the one to show her the ropes in combat.

Vie - Fellow guild member and adorable redhead. Katoka wants to hang out with her more.

Hisa - Friend from outside SAO, they originally met in another mmo and played together for a few years.

Freyd - Fellow guild member that has escorted Katoka and other guild members through more difficult quests to help them gain levels. 

Elora - Another guild member, the two have fought together on a few occasions and they seem to get along well. Katoka finds her funny and enjoys her company greatly. 

Sam - First love and now girlfriend. Met through the guild and became close fast. Katoka wishes they could spend more time together, despite them sleeping at one another's houses each night.

 

After two years of hiding in the Town of Beginnings, Katoka set out to do something instead of living off of hard bread and water. She began the simple tutorial quests and even joined a guild, Firm Anima, so she could form new bonds and actually live her life instead of wasting away into nothing.
