[F17-PP] False Pride (Nemean Lion)

[Raidou 1]

With his mind ablaze with a goal, Raidou fixes his robe in the darkened red brick walls and structures of Athenia. It had been some time since he had been on this floor last, having faced the god for his boon that seemed commonplace to him now. A cheater beat, and a world in his wake since he had some catching up to do. The quest board on this floor was rather slim pickings, but he found that the one that was available to take should prove solid growth. A sent message to those who would be joining him selected carefully, he would edge on the side of caution and hope they would adhere to it. Sending a message to Kiluia, Sam, and Setsuna they were called to action. A twist of the belt across his torso to keep it tight to his sternum, he had little time to spare idly.

Ping. A message came forth from his HUD and he opened it up. A message from Raidou was rare as the man was incredibly busy. He packed up his things and kissed Haine’s cheek softly as she slept in his bed. Pingu was awoken and was getting ready herself in stealth mode. A smirk crossed his face as he patted his penguins head. It was time to go. Soon as he was able to, he was off to the teleport gate.

Equipment was ready to go as he and his familiar appeared on the 17^th floor. There weren’t many quests available on here but he knew the one that they were going after. After the caution that was given, he was pretty sure they were going to tackle down the lion. This would be an interesting feat as he cracked his neck slightly walking up to where Raidou had laid coordinates out. Slight wave was given as he spoke. “Long time.” He greeted.  With a few seconds later, he consumed some items.

[Setsuna 0]

The cold weather of floor 4 was still as strong as ever but bothered the girl little who trained in it often. A sudden notification causes her to slow after a katana swing, two halves of a snowflake creating a tiny flash as they are broken by the weapon. "My master." the words still felt a little off to her, but she found them fitting despite how unfamiliar they were. Sheathing her katana with a draw of it against its enclosure, to the sounds of scraping metal on metal that glides. She leaps into the trees exploiting her speed and practical weightless frame, within mere minutes she is in Snowfrost, and the activating warp gate takes her upward. The first thing to greet her is a brighter sun, causing her eyes to dilate as she adverts her gaze downward. Clasping the wrap around her neck and moving it to cover the lower half of her face, she was coming into her own.

[Sam 0]

A ping from her HUD as Curbie gets all excided from the noise of the chime. Opening the message with a nod as she looks to Curbie, her new mimic friend saying "You have to stay home this time. I promise the next adventure I go on, you will be there." Curbie walks away slowly as he seems to be sad. Sam didn't want Curbie to get hurt in the fray. She hasn't found the time to train him yet and without that knowledge, there was no way she was going to put him in danger. Making a pick stop at the guildhall next door, she grabs a view items from the vault. Eating on the way she heads to floor 17 where duty open her was called. 

Arriving at the location she sees Raidou, Kiluia, and Setsuna. She frowns a bit after seeing her, given the last interaction didn't go so well. "Kiluia it has been a while. How are you and Haine?" she says with a small nod to Raidou. She walks to the group waiting for the next step.

[Raidou 1]

The first to show was Kiluia to which Raidou raises a hand in greeting "Agreed, things have been becoming a bit more demanding." he comments as the next moves to the growing collection. A turn and a nod to Setsuna who pays one back, an agreement in silence. The last from the warp gate being Sam after some time had passed, becoming a bit impatient. "Indeed it has Sam, Setsuna I think you owe her an apology." Raidou lays down a phrase that was firm, an order for the girl to make amends with those she had traveled and worked with. The O&I member's eyes scan to the ground, as Raidou fiddles with his menu and target the three with quest shares and party invites. With them sent, Raidou fixes the lenses on his nose preparing himself for what was to come next with footfalls as he takes the helm toward the goal.

The man noticed Setsuna immediately but the thing that threw him off was My master? The words were strange since the last time he saw the duo, she was screaming and throwing a temper tantrum. He wouldn’t interject since Sam walked in and asked about Haine. He smiled at her name. “Good. She’s doing very well. She is off decorating Asmura’s room.” He was proud of their little growing home but he wasn’t going to tell Asmura about adoption yet. He wanted her to live with them first before he would make that bold decision. Then again, he also didn’t ask Haine really for her hand in marriage yet either?

He looked over at Raidou and nodded. The eyes would land between Sam and Setsuna after he heard about an apology. This was getting intense even for him. “I’ll be here with you if you need me.” He looked at his belongings setting them straight or at least pretending to do so.

What she had feared had come to fruition, she knew that what she would be tasked would not be easy but did not suspect to come so rapidly. Swallowing her pride with a knot in her throat, she looks to the girl at Raidou's order "I have treated you poorly, despite how inefficient your actions are I should have not berated you the way I had." Immediately after the last word drops from her tongue she adverts her gaze and fades into her mists. The humbleness of the statement stung worse than any blade, but she did as she was told and was aiming to become her master's ideal. It would take time, but hopefully, this small step would prove how eager she was to earn the seat she was given. Taking to the rooftops and peering down over the others, from the shadows she would follow behind the others.

Hearing Raidou words of an apology, moments later Setsuna to her with calmer and nicer words than she had ever said toward her. Before Sam could say anything, Setsuna vanishes. "Thanks," she says in a quiet voice but knows that every word before this was meant. She was wondering what had happened between now and the last time they worked together to cause Setsuna to bring those words to her. She shakes her head and looks to Kiluia with a smile. "That's great, I'm glad. We need to get together again sometime and try that fishing thing again." Trying to get the odd response from her head as she tries to consider accepting the apology, she would wait till she saw Setsuna's true intentions before she could respond. She knew that Setsuna was also right though, Sam thought to herself that she was still nosy even after the black book...-Dam-. Looking to Raidou with a smile saying "So, these lions?? What do we need to know about them and what is the plan to lay them to rest." Sam excepts the party invite and quest share as she tries to make sense of it herself.

[Raidou 1]

Recognizing the name Asmura he could not help but be glad that the girl already had a place within their ranks, paying Kiluia a subtle grin and one to Sam as well. "Do not get hit, high damage but somewhat low defenses. Large health pools and a bleed effect. Simply strike my targets and if I miss, ignore it until I blind it. Strike fast and hard until they are no more." Raidou comments the run down of what to expect at Sam's quarry as they walked through the bitter crags and uneven footing, taking care to keep his own steps from reaching folly. It wouldn't be long now before they would need to draw their weapons, for it was broadcasted in a large ring and it should be hard to miss massive four legged animals such as the quest had required. Pulling his robe tight for he could owe no distraction once the conflict had begun.

He had already finished the investigation he wanted to hear about this quest. It wasn’t hard to figure out some information since the floor did not have many quests on it. He gave Raidou a smile back. He was happy to lend Asmura a hand and to teach her the ropes. He had a soft spot for her since she was so young. They had to figure everything out just like the ones who just recently emerged had to. This time, they were ready to assist them in any shape or form due to the fact that they were well versed in the field.

They approached the area that held the kings and queens of the animal kingdom. The intense ferocity of the creatures was very interesting. They were exactly the same as the ones in reality as he stared them down. Three of the lionesses stood up while the four stayed back. He grinned as he leapt down and took off running at the beasts. Both hands were pulled b)ack as he bared his own teeth at the beasts. He was in his element as he was under the first lioness and grabbed her snout. With his right hand glowing, he slammed its head into the ground for maximum impact causing a loud crash. He hoped this caught their attention. (All might -14 EN)

[Setsuna 0]

Fading in as a bouncing blue line that ricochets like a bullet, as Kiluia released the creatures face the line tore down its side with a flicker. "The end is nigh, accept your death with grace." Setsuna whispers harshly as the damage shreds through its skin causing tufts of tan fur to fall lose as its HP reduces as her weapon sheathes. A spin casts her mist around her small frame, and she disappears in it as it begins to thicken around the group offering her a safe haven to which she would strike from within. Like a predator in the brush, these beasts paled in comparison to the creature that had been unleashed upon them. Back into the bitter cold she brought with her, it was up to the next in sequence to act while she awaited her skill stasis to fade away but she would keep most of her power for the larger learning to rely on her allies strengths that were not her own.

Without hesitation, Sam takes her bladed weapon forth and runs at the four-legged beast that the other two had hit. With the glow of her body and the shine of her axe, Sam swings hard, intending to hit this one and get the other two in the blast Radius. Her aim was a bit off though, for when her battle axe made the impact to the first, the lioness flies in toward only one of the others instead of both. The target she hits swiftly flies backward and with and exploding impact its companion as it deals the same amount of damage to it, as the other bursts into data. Thinking two of 3 was not terrible and a kill was good she runs to position herself behind Raidou. He said don't get hit as the lioness recovers from the blast and starts to eye Sam like she was a piece of meat. The lioness starts to run at Sam with a rabid speed. Sam stands there for whatever is to happen.

[Raidou 1]

Flowing in combat with his comrades with a burst of his aura quickly glossing the creature's eyes to a pale white, to them all that was visible became only Raidou as the world around them became nothing more than a faint silhouette. His sprint procs and with it a blinding tear of speed, more of a vertical leap than a run following a vacuum of power in his wake. A crash like thunder as Raidou slides back first, pivoting and dropping the broadsword down in an impact that shakes the ground beneath all. The dust settles and all hostiles are pressed into the ground as if it was a mold. Raidou spins his blade in his grasp, twisting his neck and pushing the glasses up his nose. "Next." he says to the rest of his party, exploiting pressure over the enemies before they had a rebuttal was the ideal fight.

Eyes locked on the remaining two Lioness after the one shattered away. He took one step with his right foot and leapt at the weaker one of the two remaining. Unfortunately, he overshot his mark and landed behind the lioness without ever connecting with any type of physical altercation. Oh well. It wasn’t meant to be this time as he hunkered down waiting for the next opportunity to attack. He was weary of them attacking but it seemed that Raidou was able to control their movements. Now if only the could keep this up, it would be a straight forward fight with minimal damage taken from everyone.

His eyes looked over at the remaining four lions. Their heads had perked a bit watching the ongoing battle but made no attempts to interrupt their movements. Cocky bastards, he thought as he managed to stay by his friends. His eyes never left the enemy at all as he want to ensure that they would be under watch and key.

Weighing the groups remaining health pool carefully, she chooses the target with the larger. Instead of aiming for a kill, she would set up one for Raidou, Sam, or Kiluia to take and maintain her energy. It was clear she was learning and changing by the moment, with a constant reverberation of the teachings being past down from the captains that oversaw her actions. With her weapon fueled with her intentions she manifests within the field underneath Sam's cleave, and once her arm is clear a quick flash of steel draws a blue line against her target. "Mortal Draw." clicking the weapon shut as the creatures HP seems to plummet harshly. With a grim smile, she flickers back into a silhouette with a turn for the set up was complete. A parade of cold mist drops to the floor where she vanishes from, chilling Sam's and whoever who would be nearby.

The moment Setsuna disappears into the mist her ankles became cold as ice. She smiles as Sam appears around to Raidou's side. Using her exploding method once more as her weapon glows red and makes contact with the first lion who still was unable to move. The lion upon contact flies toward its buddy, causing an exploding burst and they collide together and burst into data. Sam stands there for a second with a huff of relief but knows that it was not yet over. She looks around for the last bigger lion knowing that it might be a bit more of a fight. Seeing the large creature in the distance starting to get up she jumps back as slides behind Raidou once again waiting for the next round to begin. The lion starts to make its way toward the group with a prance and then starts to run full speed in their direction.

With Sam's completed cleave reducing the last two to data, she joins him at his shoulder as he fiddles with his glasses. A sudden pulse of red as the next group begins to move up to greet the players, his aura thickening around his frame. "You'll have to get through me first." Raidou goads, a rather fierce looking glare on his brow and a flicker of red in his iris. They rush the party as Raidou pivots and blindsides the first casting into a nearby stone to a shower of pebbles, the last hoping to pass with a leap. Twisting his guard to a flow of his robe, the vanguard captain slams the Auric Sol into its ribcage punching it into a creator beneath him. The largest of the bunch stares him down without fear, breathing in heavily to roar mightily. Dropping low to the ground, an emblazoned elbow to its throat squelches its voice while his sword blocks a raking claw.

Watching Raidou fight was like poetry in motion. No waste movements and they were maximized to their fullest potential. Damn, he thought as he ran forward to the lioness in front. He pulled back his fist but before he could swing at it, the lioness came at him with ferocity as well causing him to slightly flinch. That was unexpected as he pulled back to the rest of the group. He frowned slightly at the moment. Normally they didn’t fight back but lions did have their pride to protect. It was a wasted effort on his behalf as he looked at the group in disappointment. It wasn’t his day apparently. 

“My bad.” He proclaimed as he watched the movements of the felines and how they were walking in a pattern ever since they started this battle. He would have to regain his focus somehow as they were more agile than he had anticipated.

Like the swordsman's shadow as he connects with the throat of the beast, a reflection of ice blue in the thick red she shimmers in as the mist swells in conjoins into her body. She appears hunched down with a flare of cyan light in her eye mirrored on her blade "You've decided to show, I was becoming bored with killing your kin." a hovered right hand over the katana clasps it and with a blinding pull of the steel a red line simply appears on her target before it freezes in the wound. It's health plummets further in a large portion, with the blade in her hand extended above her to the right. The ice shatters widening the scar drawn, as she flips the grip of her weapon and drags it back into its sheathe and she fades from reality as if she was nothing more than a figment.

The moment the burst of blue light hits the biggest target Sam's axe glows brightly. With a grin, she uses a weaker sword art knowing that her energy was getting a bit low. With a strike of what seems like a thousand cuts are forced from the tip hitting all but one of the creatures. Hoping that it was efficient enough she watches as some on the damaged caused drain their health a decent chunk. Looking at her energy now she was getting really low. "Raidou I am just about tapped." She backs away just a bit hoping that it didn't take to long for her to recover because she didn't want them to fight these lions alone. She wanted to be useful but with her energy being as low as it was, she couldn't do anything more than just watch. She stands there waiting, watching, in hopes that this would end soon.
