Ozwald hesitated in front of the small shop that he had heard about from a few friends. This shop was home to Zakariah a potions merchant in the floor of beginnings. Ozwald was nervous and excited to enter the shop and finally start exploring the world that he had found himself trapped in. Despite the fact that he had been here for two years, he couldn't work up the courage to leave the beginner village. Now he was taking his first small step and it terrified him. working up the courage to open the door to the small shop Ozwald stepped through the door to be met with pungent odours that had permeated the shop. Ozwald locked eyes with Zakariah and said "I was told you needed some help gathering materials for your shop." Zakariah nodded his head and ambled over to Ozwald "Please go and get me some materials from outside of the village" Ozwald nodded his head agreeing to take on this mission bidding Zakariah a farewell and heading back into the still bustling streets of the beginner village.

Ozwald leisurely walked through the streets of the beginner village, in no rush to get to the material gathering that Zakariah had asked him to do. WAlking down the streets let his mind wander, Ozwald thought about how he had spent the last two years too afraid to do anything. Too scared of dying to help, letting more and more people pass as he sat there knowing they could use all of the help that they could get, but that is over he thought,  I am done sitting idly by I will catch up and I will help. Before he knew it ozwald had reached the gate outside of the city and taken his first steps outside of the safe zone in what seemed like forever. Ozwald quickly scanned around for what he believed to be the materials that Zakariah was looking for. Quickly finding a patch pf herds growing next to a tree, he bent down to try to salvage some.

After failing to gather his first material Ozwald was a little discouraged. He had thought that the simple act of gathering herbs would be a lot less of a challenge than it was, he cursed his luck, but continued on searching until he found a similar spot growing the same herb. Ozwald crouched down examining the herbs making sure that they were not ruined beforehand like last time, Ozwald sincerely hope that this time it would go well, and that he would sail smoothly going forward..

Despite carefully looking at the plants before gathering the herbs Ozwald still failed to gather a material. This time the herbs were completely fine, but when Ozwald went to cut the herbs he cut too high up on the stem effectively ruining the entire batch of herbs. He left this patch more discouraged than before after having failed to gather the herb that he needed twice in a row, but not willing to give up.

For the third Time Ozwald got up, disheartened by how many times he had already messed up the gathering, and wandered around the plains outside of beginner village looking for the herbs that Zakariah wanted. Ozwald scanned through all of the plains before his eyes fell on another likely spot to gather his materials. Ozwald walked over to the herbs and bent down to gather them "come on" he silently muttered to himself. Grabbing the stems of the plant he slowly cut the leaves off making sure not to make a mistake.

Finally was all that Ozwald could think, he took his first step towards completing this beginner quest. Although it probably looks really easy to most people, to Ozwald, someone who had only just stepped foot outside of the beginner village, gathering herbs was still somewhat of a challenge. Ozwald gritted his teeth and with a look of determination continued his hunt.

Ozwald's look of determination still burned strong in his red eyes and after finally finding the first herb that he needed for his quest Ozwald started looking for the second material that he would require. He was looking for a tall thin stalked mushroom that grew under logs. Quickly looking for a place that was capable of spawning this particular breed of mushroom, Grimm walked over to a felled rotting log and went to gather the material that he needed kicking the log out of the way Ozwald reached down to the mushrooms that were growing underneath attempting to gather the material.

Damn ozwald muttered as he once again messed up the collection of the materials that he needed. I don't think I am cut out to be a forager, the exasperated Ozwald thought to himself. Although Ozwald had failed again he didn't let this setback dishearten himself at all and with determination as fierce as ever he continued scrounging for materials around the village.

Ozwald got up and brushed the dust of his pitch black greaves. "Lets see" he whispered and scanned his surrounding for another more wet and damp area in the plains, the wet damp areas around ponds would suit him best. In his searching Ozwald came to rest his eyes on a little pond of water surrounded by a few sparse trees "This place looks perfect" Ozwald called out to no one in particular. Upon closer inspection there were multiple patches of the mushrooms growing around the pond. Ozwald jogged over to one of the many patches of the delicate mushroom, and once again knelt down in the damp grass and mud. "I am going to have to polish my armor forever to get the scuffs out" was the first thing that Ozwald thought hearing the squish of the mud shifting under his knees.

Ozwald checked what the next item on the list was Eye of Newt: He had always thought that was just something people said witches used, but now to find out that it was an actual herb was an odd sensation to describe. "I guess you never stop learning" Ozwald muttered softly. Ozwald wandered around looking for the pungent yellow plant known as eye of newt until he came near the walls of Beginner Village. Near the walls there was a large patch of the strong smelling plants. Odd Ozwald thought, it had never occurred to him how weird it was that his digital character could smell, but then again full dive was all about immersion. Ozwald knelt down and firmly pulled the plant out of the ground.

Ozwald pulled his gauntlet closer to his face and inhaled, cringing at the aroma that was produced by the crushed plant. Bending down, Ozwald wiped the leather of his gauntlet palm on the grass in the plains, wiping away all of the crushed Eye of newt. Ozwald let his red eyes scan around for another suitable patch of the plant next to the pristine walls of beginner Village, and just a few feet away laid such a patch of the herb.Ozwald, this time, more gently picked up the herb slowly pulling it out of the ground. Soon the roots were completely visible, and he cut the plant from the roots.

Checking his quest details again Ozzwald looked at the next thing that he needed to collect, a ruby red mushroom the grew next to ponds and other sources of water. Why didn't I look for this earlier when I was at the pond Ozwald chastised himself making the short albeit annoying trek back to the small pond. Once at the small pond it didn't take long to notice the very brightly colored mushroom. Ozwald knelt by the mushroom and grabbed for it.

Suddenly a small frog leaped out of the water and onto Ozwald outstretched hand. The surprise of this caused Ozwald to fall forward and for his hand to land squarely on the mushroom completely crushing it. Ozwald shook his head silently berating himself, how could he let a simple frog make him mess up his gathering so very badly. Ozwald sighed and stood up from the ground turning to face the crystal clear pool of water.

Ozwald knew by now that for every herb that he needed to get he would fail a few times before actually adding it to his inventory. Every time that he would fail it would just fill his heart with more determination, sure this specific task wasn't a big deal, but to Ozwald it was a sign that he could start doing what he thinks he needs to do. Ozwald once again found himself looking around the pond for the unusual mushroom. scanning over the entire surface of the pond in its entirety over and over again looking for that bright red color.

To Ozwald's sadness, there were no more of the ruby colored mushroom at this particular pond. From afar Ozwald could tell that this new pond had a wide variety of flora and fauna, and therefore it had a much higher chance of spawning the particular strain of mushroom that he was searching for.Ozwald trained his blood red eyes on the banks of this much larger pond, looking for any sign of the peculiar mushroom that could be found on its banks.

The final item on his list was known as Wool of Bat "Another phrase that I thought was just completely made up" Ozwald thought to himself. This new plant grew in trees and since this pond had none that grew the particular plant that he was looking for he would have to walk to the trees that he saw in the distance. The journey was short, but Ozwald could barely contain his excitement, he almost fully completed the quest that Zakariah gave him. When Ozwald reached the trees that couldn't even be considered a forest he looked around for the spiky leaves of the wool of bat that he had to gather.

Walking further into the so called forest. Ozwald made sure to keep his eyes open for the wool of bat that he was looking for. Scanning the trees in the distant Ozwald was looking for the red berries that came along with the leaves he was looking for. Ozwald opened up his inventory seeing that he had finally gathered all five of the materials that Zakariah had requested he grab for him. Looking around Ozwald could still see plenty of materials that could be picked up while walking back to the beginner village. Content with his luck in finding his own personal material to use Ozwald makes the short trek back to the Beginner Village's gate. "I actually did it" these were the only thoughts going through Ozwald's head as he was walking back. It may have been a small achievement, but it was the first real step that Ozwald had taken to help people in this world. Slowly the Beginner Village came back into view and Ozwald quickened his pace, excited to get back to Zakariah and get on further with his quest. Ozwald finally reached the gate to the city and stepped back into the safe zone, carefully picking his way through the large city's bustling streets pushing his way past other players and NPCs alike., until he finally reached Zakariah's shop. Ozwald knocked while pushing through the door "I got those materials that you wanted" Closing the door behind him Ozwald took a few steps into the shop.

"Ah you're finally back" Zakariah looked up from the potion that he was brewing as Ozwald walked into his little shop. "Come over here and help an old man out." Ozwald looked over at Zakariah placing the pouch of materials on the table beside Zakariah while standing beside him "What do you need  me to do" Ozwald asked while watching the contents of the small flask bubble and boil over the small controlled fire almost in awe, how can something like a few plants turn into a potion capable of healing someone's wounds? Zakariah held out a mortar and pestle for Ozwald to take and he took it "Why don't you take those ingredients that you got and try making your own potion?" Ozwald looked up at him confused "I don't know how to make any potions" Ozwald confessed embarrassedly it was a basic skill that almost everyone in SAO should know how to do but he didn't "It is very simple,"  Zakariah said soothing some of Ozwald's worry "All you have to do is take those materials you got there and grind them up, then combine them with this liquid" Zakariah explained shaking a bottle nearby "And then vaporize it collecting the vapor in another bottle that condenses into a potion" Ozwald now knowing how it was done, was more confused than ever, he didn't know just how involved the making of the potions was. Ozwald took the materials that he had gathered and put them into the mortar and pestle and began working.

After all of the vapor condensed into the bottle Grimm stared at it in awe, it wasn't a great potion by any means, but he made it himself and it was a great learning experience for Ozwald. "Good job, Most do not succeed on their first try" Zakariah took the potion from Ozwald and placed it on a shelf nearby with a bunch of similar potions. "Do you need anymore help?" Ozwald asked wanting to help as much as possible. "Actually I do I want you to deliver a package for me, to Lyle Tealeaf's shop." Zakariah asked walking to the counter at the front of his shop grabbing a package of what Ozwald assumed were a few potions for Lyle. Zakariah held out the package for Ozwald to take and Ozwald grabbed it and placed it into his inventory. "Where can I find Lyle's shop?" Ozwald asked looking towards the door of Zakariah's shop. "Just follow the road straight right of here take your fifth left and keep walking. You can't miss it." "Thankyou" Ozwald said walking to the door of the shop.

Ozwald Started opening the door to Zakariah's shop but a sudden thought struck him, he had heard players in SAO talking of a gypsy on the first floor who could bend monsters to her will. "Would you happen to know of where a gypsy might be found on this floor?" Ozwald asked Zakariah as he turned away from the open door noticing Zakariah already quickly back to work making his potions. "I have heard some rumors, but I don't know anything myself" Zakariah answered Ozwald barely even looking up from the potion that he had started working on. Ozwald could barely hear what the distracted Zakariah had said due to the calls of merchants around the shop. Admittedly Zakariah's information was nothing new, but maybe he could ask around a few other places around floor one. Ozwald stepped back out into the busy and loud streets of the Beginner Village the door to Zakariah's shop closing behind him with a soft thud, Almost as if finalizing his encounter with Zakariah

Ozwald followed the directions that Zakariah had given him lost in thought, Who might know something about the Gypsy that I have heard so much about and how can I get stronger so that I can finally be of use to all of the people fighting for my freedom were the two thoughts permeating Ozwald's thoughts as he walked. Ozwald wandered down the streets for a few minutes before he realized that he wasn't paying attention to where he was going at all and was now lost. Ozwald turned in circles not recognizing any of the landmarks around him, he had no choice but to back track to Zakariah's shop. Ozwald walked all the way back to the shop and this time followed the instructions that Zakariah had given him. Coming to a blacksmith shop that looked very ordinary and plain. Ozwald could hear the banging of the hammers on the steel as he walked up to the door and opened it.

Ozwald walked into the fairly cramped blacksmith shop, he saw all sorts of things on the walls from nails to armor. and a second door at the back of the shop. Ozwald called out "Hello, I am looking for Lyle." Ozwald stood in the center of the room waiting for a reply to his shout. Before long a well built sturdy man came out from the back room that was truly an open work shop. "I am Lyle, what can i do for ye lad" Lyle asked wiping sweat off of his brow with a rag. "I have a package for you from Zakariah" Ozwald said taking the package out of his inventory and handing it to Lyle. "Thankyou" Lyle said taking the parcel behind the counter and putting it away "Could I bother you with doing a small task for me" Lyle asked from behind the counter meeting Ozwald's unwavering red stare. "Of course, I am always happy to help."
