Roughened moisture filled walls that stunk of stagnancy, the air trapped here for what seemed like forever. Tomoika was just as inviting, a barren town to which it hardly saw any activity outside of what the cardinal would provide. It was early, as such the NPC had just arisen from their provided routine, feigning the exhaustion that was common in the morning. Raidou could not sleep, having wasted a day upon the deserts of floor 5 he had some catching up to do. Ever in motion like waves from the falls of floor 6, adamant in his resolve to keep his momentum rolling forward. To the quest board, through a scrolling menu that could not keep with his embrace he finds his target and with a flash, it is removed once again from its surface. A trigger of tracking locates a ripe point at which to start. Ripping Auric Sol from its scabbard a blinding light upon it from the movement as what was standard for its material. Removing from his robe pocket the same little stone to which he drags down it like a sharpening stone: a lantern, and a weapon. Through the narrow paths heading northward, the chattering and rubbing of talons gave way to the spiders that loved these nooks as home. The reaping begins the same as any other dawn knocking asunder the entire pack in one powerful punch of his blade in a yellow arc. Flourishing the steel today was no test, but simply an attempt at stabilizing his squandered time. They scatter in all directions from the impact, laying prone having been winded by his cleave. The pressure was obvious. They aimed to force his hand through sheer numbers, but it would be clear to those that inspected his actions he was practiced. Tearing the blade off in varied sides, showers of light with each blow as they exchange. Raidou sustains no damage but those he makes contact with suffer for the attempts on his frame. Their strength begins to wane dropped into the orange of their respective bars. The spiders were becoming sluggish and slow, unfortunate for the nomad was just getting started and had a mountain of stamina still left to exploit. As they scatter like mice, given responses to having sustained damage Raidou remains patient with his sword held high, a defensive posture still claiming his body. Although he wished to save on time, the wanderer would not let haste cloud his judgments or show those that would do him harm respect. It was to get them bunched close enough together by kiting them, and one broad stroke removes that which remained from existence. Showering colors of the blue cast in all directions as chain detonations as the attack from Auric Sol traveled down the line from right to left. The nomad's HUD screams with new additions, proving that they were in fact destroyed. A trigger of lime green upon his iris, what was yielded could wait for it was hardly relevant. Best to not count the coin for every penny earned when you could spend that time making more, and it seemed as though Raidou had a hand that was straight aces. Normally reinforcements would hear the commotion and move to meet him. This time they were dealt with so swiftly that they had not the chance. A violent hum of Auric Sol within his clutches as he followed the roughened nooks and cranny that composed this catacomb. As the threshold is breached in a pulse like thunder, Raidou blindsides the lot, sending them scattering in all directions like mice through a blender. A sudden reciprocation rakes talon against his wrist over the blade, a reflex alone managing through the attack. Struck into immobilization as rapidly as the first pairing, Raidou was becoming rather overwhelming but even still ego held no hold upon him. Always prepared for the worst, the simplicity that was that anything could go wrong should you choose to assume there was no danger. Drawing the blade in his grasp up, slightly extended in preparation as his bulwark is erected in a waltz he was all too familiar. Raidou flips his grip and drops the hammer, causing a shower of stone in loose debris to jettison from point of impact. It connects and for one unlucky enough to be the direct center, clips a sizeable chunk from the creature. As if impacted by a depth charge they are flung into surrounding walls and structure, blasting deep and hard upon the surfaces enough to drain just an ever so slight bit of extra health. They were waning, losing before they had a real rebuttal. Calculated, predicted, and exploited to all ends this was his coined style. Victory without risk through the careful use of one's weakness against it, these had senses that were dull and as such should they be the receiver of an attack they held little defense against it. He questioned if not he could move fast enough, for his speed although quick he was unconvinced it matched the white lightning's. A sudden boom as they struggled to lift to long spindled legs, a blur of red in a vacuum of swirling air. Raidou becomes visible in what seems like seconds, and the drop of his blade seems to force all of his aggressors to dissipate like confetti on the wind. "Not quite as fast, but adequate enough to finish the job." The wanderer remarked, the new trick taught by an old dog seemed rather suitable. His screen screams with the procurement with each of them felled, a blur of text that consumes his information box. "Good but I still have more time, best not waste it." he spoke as searching triggered again. But it still was not good enough, he could still spot the weakness within him that the cardinal failed to see. Raidou pivots and cleaves down in a shattering show of fury. A sudden clap like a storm, a shower of pebbles from detonation, and a sound like a depth charge being released. From the point of connection, they bounce and careen from his stroke, a stilled and plain expression besides a furrowed brow. They struggle outwardly as what they had left had been removed into another large section, what was left? But a single chunk in orange. Raidou exchanges his grip, the crossguard twirling above his closed hand as the weapon recharges in bright light. There was no pause or deliberate wait in his onslaught, using everything at his disposal with expertise. His gear was not extraordinary, it was functional and what he was capable of came simply from his own skillset. His targets were well known, exploitable to no ends. They had nothing to offer in the way of difficulty, what remained were nothing more than punching bags to which to test and iron out himself. They fall and to their demise a choir of added resources into his coffers, parading from his chat box in a string of explanations and titles. An unneeded but accepted reward, for his true desire, was simply absolution and the removal of his deniability. But he digresses with the new vacuum of activity, returning his weapon to its sheathe. He'd used too much of his stamina, and to make due on the time properly he'd allow it to regenerate before continuing. It would have been foolish to seek out more and assume he'd have the time between for it to come back beforehand. Removing his robe and adding it to the roughened stone floor, for but a moment lessening his burden and allowing himself to process what he had gained. More targets meant more coin, more motion forward, and more fuel for the fire. Drawing the glimmering blade from his back as it charges bright with yellow light. The force of his swing can be heard ringing off the walls as he cuts through the enemies in one broad stroke of the weapon. Cut down with relative ease they scatter to the rounded room, being blindsided by the swordsman as so many of their kin before them. They were a means to an end, a step toward a goal as each shattered like glass. Caution still taking the first point in his mind, the rest simply being precision and speed. The nomad does not let up, the next blow shreds through three in a gruesome sweep in the opposed direction. It knocks their available totals into the red. Only one manages out of the attack radius before it is let loose, scattering low and pressed into the floor. It would not matter, as Auric Sol was already charging with another cleave. To those struck they languished and begin to lose the ability to stand, energy drained with their depleting health totals. It would not be long now before they fell as all those before them, these arachnids hardly stood a chance and the wanderer knew it was almost over. He waits and finds they were just sizing him up and not acting. Raidou sighs and offers another hearty blow of yellow, in a while horizontal arc the same as those before it. This was a waste of the time he had to spare, and could hardly just burn it all on the chance they could perform the attack through his defenses again. One expires while the others dwindle down into the lowest levels of remaining health. They languish and become lax with the fight in them fleeting. It was apparent they had little energy left to muster against the swordsman, what remained was nothing more than the reaping of wheat.
