Amber eyes homed in on Hel. He knew that at this moment, Raidou had full hate control so touching it once wouldn’t do much to draw attention to the treasure hunter. Watching Bahr antagonize Freyd a bit made a half smile form on his face. It was relatively funny to him. Without another moments notice, his left foot dug into the ground and pushed off running at the she demon. His legs pulled full of blood and he took a leap into the air while drawing back his right fist. It was a good arch with the distance he chose. Next moment, his fist landed square into the jaw of Hel with tremendous force pushing back the monster. It was by no means a subtle attack.

When he landed onto the ground, he hopped back several times to create distance from it. He had no idea what it was capable of really other than causing a lot of pain on someone. “Kinda like that?” He remarked looking at @Bahr

She was not happy. She did not want to hit a demon. This was bad luck and she shivered slightly looking at Kiluia. Her eyes pleaded with him trying to make a deal with no words. Of course, her shining knight was not paying attention to her. Grr. What to do? The only thing she could do was help whittle down the monster’s health like her beloved. With a deep breath, she pulled her spear spinning it like a drill. If Kiluia had done it, she would have to do it as well since she was about to be married to a man who may as well be screaming for bad luck. Demons, ghosts, and zombies oh my!

“I really hate this!” She closed her eyes as she drilled her spear into Hel. She managed to plunge the tip of the spear in and out of the flesh of the demon before going in a full arc down on top of the thing. It felt strange to her as she felt the squish of the flesh and she shivered running back to the rest. “Ew..!”

Focused Howl CD [1/2]

Satiated Raidou simply holds his ground with his objectives clear, eying the woman anchors as she seemed to be unfazed despite how low her health was becoming. Those in the group were tearing asunder both her and what she had, the durability of the chain links purchased some reasoning to their effects being relevant. He chooses to bide and wait for an opportunity, perched to move once that moment arrived as the charged art flickers and fades.

Hel latches the chain still anchored to her throne, the energy ripe on her index fades. A hallowed scream of the soldier still tethered to her chair, as a faint green aura bleeds down the line. Her health skyrockets and she offers a smile in a toying fashion, looking over the group who were foolish enough to attempt. With this single life still giving her respite from their intentions, the power of his trapped soul was delicious. That goading grin with a scan, halting with Bahr last following a wink. Perhaps if she produced an alluring enough fury, they'd avoid cutting the soldier free and lose this fight.

It was the moment that her health jumped up to full that the player was caught off guard mid-strike. In furious recall of her move's execution, NIGHT had nearly fallen backwards in a stumble, a frustrated look bearing over the undead empress' form.

No fucking way. A full restore mid-battle? That's literally cheating.

One turn of the steel in her hand and she'd readied her swapped art; when her executioner glowed at the tip of her grip, so too did her eyes burn with a tiger's ferocity. She jumped ahead, aiming the rimmed circular edge of her weapon towards Hel's side, and in a burst of power the woman had made firm contact with her target.

Never mind her party members' banter. It was the continuous dig of her sword's butt into the skin of their enemy that kept the goddess busy, and NIGHT only pulled herself away when her companions were beginning to rush in for back up. Teeth still gritted, she set the flat of her blade towards the boss.

NIGHT had decided that she wouldn't even look it in the face.

His eyes widened at the fact the shedemon had managed to restore all of her health. That was indeed an intimidating feature that had made him grit his teeth. All that work for fucking nothing. Eyes shifted over to Raidou and then at Night. It seemed that she managed to stun the foul behemoth once again. With that moment, it seemed the chains that were around the soldier had become vulnerable once more. What was the connection between these chains and Hel? He pondered the thoughts about the game mechanic and wrapped his slender digits around the chain.

“Hang tight…” He looked at the soldier. The other two had been free while this man had been suffering since Hel was lucid. He wrapped the chain around his arm and pulled as hard as he could to snap the already weakened chain. He put every ounce of effort into it since he wanted to ensure that this would not be a trap if he wasn’t able to. Snap! The chain broke causing him to stumble back a little, but it was enough. The chain unraveled around the soldier who was thanking the group profusely.

That was all he needed to hear.  Snaring one of the loose chains, which were still tethered on Hel's end, Freyd threw and wound the broken end over one of the nearby pieces of spiked debris and watched it pull taught at knee height before him.  Red eyes gleamed with cunning intent as he glared at her rotten countenance and whistled.  

"Yo!  Hel!  Get over here!"  

Stomping his black, booted foot on the chain caused the stunned, half-dead god-thing to come flying out of her throne like a rag doll, betrayed by the very same bindings that protected her mere moments ago.  She skidded to a halt on the rough flagstone floor, still too dazed from NIGHT's previous attack to do anything more than wheeze.  Planting his other foot on her withered arm, he pinned her in place.  Samael's Pride flared darkly in his hands as its holy seals weakened, just as Freyd drove the blade down into the goddess' shoulder.  Grabbing the cross guard like some sort of giant corkscrew, he wrenched upon it and drilled the blade deeper still.

'Thank goodness for the cowl,' he thought to himself, concealing the cold and brutal callousness in his eyes.

"LET'S FUCKING GOOOOO!" Bahr bellowed as he blasted his way through the crowd of fellow Players, eyes glued to his target as Dawn's Demise flashed red and smoky tendrils snaked their way across the blade. No sooner had he declared his enthusiasm than the scarlet-obsidian mixture found itself buried in the abdomen of their foe. It first caught against the monster, then tore through, loud cries of exertion from Bahr synthesizing into the melody of ripping skin and snapping bone. When his Sword Art had concluded, he stuck his tongue out at the stunned creature and took a leap back to create distance before its lapse in motion ceased.

"Ahhh man," he breathed as he joined his place alongside his comrades. "What a cool boss." It wasn't like it was particularly challenging - though, how could it be? These were some of Aincrad's best. There was seldom a dungeon, quest or boss that would be capable of holding up under the pressure of their combined efforts. But while the rest of the party seemed to display mixed measures of chagrin and bewilderment, Bahr was excited that the boss had managed to fill its health all the way back up. It just meant that he got to beat it up longer.

"She'll be dead soon," he decided, his cursory glance at Hel's health gauge revealing it was somewhere around a third depleted already. "Let's give Hel Hell."

Getting the sense of combat in how the boss had just restored all of its health and before the blink of an eye it was already down to half again. A slight tinge of pleasure took to the fore front of his mind. Flipping his steel over and ripping it up, he takes a hand to his brow. A brilliant flash of light that seemed impossible, as two spheres turn to a flash bang. Raidou speaks "Tried so hard and came so far but in the end, it doesn't even matter." the tussle of his glasses fades to show his face, and upon it a smile. Hel was losing, and she may not even know it.

Raidou activates Vengeful Riposte, -5 EN

Hel Swirled and swiveled, reeling from the blows paid to it. Her black ichor that peeled forth from her wounds, hid the network exposed beneath it. A simple trick to prove her immortality. But she languished and falters in a way which proves it.

Maybe she should return her eyes to the boss. Focus on her environment was getting her nowhere, and just as she swore her strikes were chaining in a vicious attempt to harken the ghastly energies from her blade to visible fruition--

NIGHT had gawked at the revelation mid swing. What bubbling froth lining the edge but receeded as the woman was pulled out of her flow, the cut barely managing to graze against Hel's unnaturally gigantic form. Her look of horror she shot the man's way was but brushed with the heat of white, gash fading to give prominence to her aghast, and yet for all her surprise was worth it was not enough to coax words out of the woman.

She just stared at Raidou before the boss behind her shrieked again. Then, and only then was NIGHT compelled to move, a shuffle backwards in absolute loss and confusion.

Rolling and running behind furious Hel, Freyd pulled the same soul-slaved chain he'd tripped her with as he ran.  Jumping over her morbid throne, Freyd swung and used his body weight to yank the chain behind him.  The hewn stone seatback and arms became an improvised pulley.  Jerked around by the sudden tug, the goddess was thrown off balance again despite her great size.  Releasing the chain as he spun back around the throne, Freyd pivoted and cut at her with his blade.  The sword's darkness and light slicing evenly through Hel's fairer flesh as her other side wailed with the fury of a banshee.

"She knows she's lost.  Keep at her and she'll be down soon enough."

Coming to a stop back in his original position, Freyd cleared distance enough to let the rest of the party get in their attacks.  It wouldn't be right to hog all the fun.

"Was that..." Bahr blinked. "Was that fucKING LINKIN PARK?" he accused as he craned his head back, staring at Raidou incredulously. It wasn't even so much the fact that he'd chosen a long-dead band to represent his choice of words. The deadpan tone and demeanor with which the man delivered the excerpt was more than enough to tilt Bahr into a white hot rage. He didn't know why. It just... resonated with him on a primal level.

So lost was his focus that he didn't even bother trying to attempt a Fallen or Holy activation. No, he just ran up to the boss and started smacking it as hard as he physically could, using the absurd wedge he called a weapon as more a club than for its actual intention. He continued to wail on the ghoul until his arms felt heavier, and a sting in his upper biceps heralded the inevitably conclusion of his tantrum. Huffing, tired, but still mad, he shot another glare to the red-coated goon.

"I'll remember this."

The situation of pummeling Hel down was close at hand. The gauge lowered drastically as the unrelenting strikes came one after another. His focus became torn from the task at hand at the mention of Linkin Park and his eyes glanced over at everyone. His eyes furrowed slightly at the reasoning why. It was then he pieced it together as to what was spoken. It was Raidou making a quote. Hmm.. He thought. He never knew that Raidou was a fan. Something to chat over once this was over.

His eyes refocused on Hel before dashing off toward the targeted creature. A slight smile crossed his face as pushed off the ball of his heel. It launched him to the right of the demon. His left fist clenched into a ball tightly wound before unwinding a blow to the fleshy upper cheek bone causing it to stumble backwards. “I think the song that suits you is Crawling, Raidou.”

All the music flew over her pretty little blue haired head. She was not familiar with the song choices really as she was more of a hyperactive dubstep child with some Miku mix in her. She scrunched up her nose slightly as she watched the attack that Kiluia performed. With a slight huff, she ran off with her assault spear. What could she do to make this a bit spicier? Her thoughts concluded that she would entertain herself with using her fiancée as a springboard. Yes. A springboard. Left foot climbed up off the back of the main and she launched herself with her spear into the air. “Thanks! I just wanted to try this!” Of course, she was just bored.

The spear spun in a circle before the tip came crashing upon Hels chest. The blow was designed to cause some sort of stumbling upon the demonic entity. Her amber eyes looked at the health bar of it and frowned slightly. It was barely alive. “Dang it. I wanted to kill it.”

Focused Howl Refreshed!

Utterly confused by what everyone was saying, he had no premeditation of what everyone was referring to. Although he may have quoted it, it was an enigma to him. Perhaps hearing it without knowing and having it stored, or great minds and all that jazz. "What?" Raidou offers rather plainly, a soft and emotionless deadpan shared to the party. A flick of the wrist offers Hel a backhand to an attempt through his guard. Even the boss found his words in bad taste, further alienating most of the entities in the room. He was a very effective tank, generating hate without using a skill at all. A flash of light as his bulwark held strong, he takes a step back as a black silhouette appears from the ether.

Judgment

That smile returns and with a spin of his blade, a single word muttered that causes the boss's attention to shift albeit slightly: "Checkmate."

So it was upon her to bring Hel to her knees, then. NIGHT could spend forever on the connotations, but in the moment only one spoke to her with a batter of her steel against the goddess' form. Within seconds the fiend succumbed to the thrall of the void, that final shriek the last of her remnants before Hel's form was shattered, data shards scattering to the wind.

And yet--

Despite having slain their foe, a similar likeness of the woman suddenly appeared, resting upon her throne with a smile as serene as day. It was with that last sight that the world was overwhelmed with white.

Teleportation? But she hadn't used a crystal.

No, it was movement by the systems that had stolen the party away from their positions. In moments the world reclaimed its colour, light giving way to darkness, the chamber of void before them only but containing a snarling warg chained to a pitiable pillar. Wrapped up in velveteen red silk and showcased under what fragments of sunshine poured through the ceiling, it was almost as though Cardinal had decided to gift them a present.

 

That thought brought NIGHT to furrow her brows. It wasn't Christmas yet. Was it?

His feet squelched as they fastened upon the highly polished stones of Odin's great hall.  Freyd had been here before and didn't bother to take in the scenery a second time.  They had a goal to attain and the rantings of the one-eyed god were mere distractions to his purpose.  What was with the ravens, anyway?  Norse mythology had never really been his strong suit.  

“I am Odin. You have freed my warriors from foul Niflheim. I am in your debt. I would send you home, but before I do, I have a matter that you might aid me with.”

Clapping the fingers of his right hand together like a sock-puppet as the NPC spoke, the Whisper waved at the giant, barrel-chested god, trying to get his attention.

"Can we walk and talk?!  I'm on a bit of a schedule!"  Freyd pointed adamantly at the non-existent watch on his left wrist, craning his neck all around as if looking for the 'skip' button.  That wouldn't have been fair though.  The others had not experienced this yet.  Being a completionist himself, he couldn't deny it to them.  The spiel was actually quite short, and Freyd was halfway down the tunnel leading to Fenrir's kennel before Odin even began to follow.

“This is Fenrir. He is destined to one day bring about the end of all things. Having proven your worth against malicious Hrym and duplicitous Hel, I believe you are mighty enough to slay this beast. Tell me when you are ready, warriors. If you wish, I will fight at your side.”

"It's alright, big man.  We've got this.  My friends here all have their hearts set on a shiny new Gungnir, and who can really blame them?"

The All-father seemed displeased by his insolent tone, the shade of his face turning a proper beserker-flushed red at being denied an opportunity to join this greatest of battles.

"Well... FINE!"  Like a twenty foot tall, impetuous child, Odin stomped his foot and ripped from the wall the uncannily thin ribbon binding the giant wolf to its kennel.  A deafening howl and shower of stone signaled Fenrir's release as he launched himself upward, through the prison's vaulted roof.  The chamber collapsed around them as the party was left scrambling to return to the streets of Asgaard, where the real battle would take place.

Leaping as high as he could, Freyd drove his sword into the beasts hind leg and let it drag him up with it, as both vanished up into the massive cloud of debris.

"SWEeeeettt!   I didn't miss, for once!"

"So this is the mutt, huh?" Bahr mused as he sauntered into the arena behind Freyd, largely ignoring the overbearing voice of Odin. "Gotta admit - sure does look a lot more intimidating that Cerberus. Even the new mutation that came out recently." His crimson and verdant orbs flickered to the quadruple health bar that half-encircled its bulbous skull, heralding a health pool unlike the previous mobs they'd encountered. Seemed like quite the difficulty spike.

Once the dusty miasma had evaporated, Bahr bolted forth and unleashed a strike not unlike Freyd's tearing a repectable portion of health away from their shared adversary. Unfortunately, it seemed that even with raw Fallen energy pulsing along his blade, he'd only managed to deplete a single health gauge to about two-thirds empty - and that was after Freyd had gotten his lick in, too.

"Damn - scary and durable." He felt some unseen force tug one of the edges of his lip up into a crooked smile. "That's what I'm talking about."

Hearing the God speak about Fenrir caused him to flinch a bit. He had heard of this mighty creature before in the past in school. All of this was becoming a little bit more down an educational standpoint, but the graphics were indeed amazing. Amazingly terrifying that is. A slight sigh was given as their job was not over yet. Whatever. A job was a job as he managed to clench his fists together. Seeing the enormous wolf was nothing short of a terrifying spectacle to behold.

That was not going to chance his stance on hitting it full blast though. He watched as Bahr smashed the wolf and then giving it a compliment. Soon after, he dashed by Bahr and respectively grabbed the wolf by the snout. This ended up with him drilling his kneecap straight into the nose of Fenrir causing a horrendous upward snap of the wolfs neck. Even with full power, his knee reverberated from the impact. It was surprisingly durable. He huffed slightly as he looked over at others making his way putting distance between himself and the wolf.

 She turned her head upon the giant wolf. It was beauty incarnate to her as she stared in awe. The fact that they had to fight off this beautiful creature caused her to be extremely upset. The beauty of the fur that glistened in the moonlight and the incredible eyes that pierced through her was almost a crime. She pouted hard at how everyone instantly just started fighting. She didn’t want to do this but the reward was nice too. A light sigh escaped her lips as she ran toward the wonderous beast. “I’m so sorry!” She cried out as if she was getting struck.

Spear launched forward several times coming at the beast in blazing speed like she had always done before. The only thing behind it was she was wincing every time it cut into the creature’s fur and into its main body. With the final strike coming, she spun in a circle creating an arc for the spear to come crashing down upon Fenrir’s head. She jumped away and hid behind her beloved crying out. “Its beautiful, Kil!”
