Ozwald and his blue haired compatriot walked all the way back through the sandy wasteland formally known as the fifth floor. Although Ozwald didn't mind the weather or the sand, it seemed as though Chase's very being was opposed to this floor's existence. Finally making it back to the settlement that could be found in the desert Ozwald and friend made their way back to the teleport gate for what was the fifth time that day.

The customary blinding flash of blue light once again dissipated leaving them in the settlement proper on the sixth floor. Ozwald was in aww of the floor that they had just found themselves placed in, he had a love for all things plant and animal, so seeing a place so incredibly biodiverse was beautiful to him. "Once again I must ask, do you have any idea where this one might be?" Ozwald snapped out of his revelry turning to his companion to ask the same question he had asked every other time.

Finally, the teleporter was edging closer and closer with every single step that they took, and soon enough they would be out of this hellhole. Without even five minutes passing due to Chase picking up the pace, he stepped right into the settlement, almost ran to the teleporter and woosh- they were up to the sixth. Close to the fifth, but not on it! What better thing could a man really ask for?

Comically enough, as soon as they departed from the floor down under, Chase appeared to have already been wearing a stupid smile on his face. The only time he'd come back to this jungle was to fight his inner demons, or that hellish fire monster Byakko- was that its name? He'd long forgotten. For the task at hand though... It let him kick back and relax for two seconds from the exhausting heat of the desert. "Nope, not the slightest clue.", he reassured Chase and gave him a thumb up, starting to walk towards some of the NPC shops in the direction opposite to the settlement. It seemed like a dumb move, and it honestly... was? "Anyways, I don't think we ever talked builds. Tell me about yourself. You said you didn't want to tank, but you wanted to attack more? What are you aiming for? Raw damage, charging in, damage over time effects, stealth?". What a rain of questions for once. That's what happens when one gets out of a miserable condition, after all.

Ozwald was a little taken aback by both the smile on Chase's face and the uncharacteristic barrage of questions that he was asking Ozwald. "I haven't put a lot of thought into it, other than a basic idea, but I think it fits the name that I go with a stealth build." Ozwald replied to Chase's main question simply, he really hadn't put much thought into exactly where he was going with his build. One of his strong suits had always been being unnoticed, so a stealth build would probably fit him really well. "But I don't really know how viable a build like that would be, nor do I know how to go about doing it." Ozwald continued explaining his thought process on the matter "But I guess I can learn as I do it, I think stealth and DOT is really the way that I will build, I think it is the best for me and my skillset."

That was more than a good enough combo. Assuming that DOT meant damage over time of course... Chase gave a reassuring nod and stopped outside of a tavern, coughing and stuffing both hands in his pockets while keeping his broken sword by his waist, sheathed. He seemed ready to step inside, although that was much more of a detour than it was helpful at this point.

"Damage over time stealth? That's more than just viable. One of the strongest players I know has that sort of a build, so I could show you a thing or two. And I have a weapon that might interest you, too. You'll need to level up first though.", he nodded before turning to look over his shoulder at the tavern once more, rubbing the back of his head and turning to Ozwald with an awkward smile, his eyes darting off to the side. "A-Ah, right, er... Wait out here. I've something to take care of, I'll be five minutes. Then we can get going. Yeah?", he asked him with a bead of sweat forming on the side of his head, chuckling uncomfortably. "It'd be best if you stayed out. I'll explain once we're on the way to the hatchling."

Ozwald complied to his blue haired friend's request, it was an odd one but it wasn't something that really mattered so he was fine with listening. Ozwald decided that he would just sit down, leaning  his back against the wall of the tavern playing with his favorite chicken until Chase came back out of the wooden building. Ozwald was a patient person, and he could wait for hours on end before he had any problem with someone taking too long to do something. Ozwald just spent the few minutes that Chase was gone for having his familiar chase around a stick that he was waving around. Ryoto as adorable as he was, was not very smart, honestly he was probably the stupidest bird reptile that Ozwald had ever met, granted he was the only one. The time passed by fairly fast and as soon as Chase came out Ozwald scooped his little feathery raptor into his arms to its protest and stood waiting for Chase to lead him away.

Minutes passed, with no turmoil seeming to pop up anywhere inside the building. Nothing really happened in the end, with Chase exiting with both hands thrown behind his head and a small smile, just like before. Less so one of happiness, more so one of complete satisfaction. Whatever he'd gone inside for, he seemed to have fulfilled his purpose to his visit.

"Asked around the NPCs inside to see if they knew a thing. Apparently, there's another quest, where a flaming tiger starts to run through the forest and burn it down bit by bit. I've done it, but...", he smiled and looked to the side at a few of the trees standing taller than the village, before looking down the path that they were following too, now headed out into the fields. "Guess what set off the tiger and got it to run right outta there.", he said and shrugged almost nonchalantly, looking further into the distance to make sure that the directions he was sending them down were right. "I went in to get us some leads for the hatchling- it paid off. Some NPC seemed to remember me from the quests I've done here, so they 'gifted' me with the information. I'll take it for what it is."

"well that is definitely helpful." Ozwald replied to Chase seeing that he was still smiling, Ozwald liked to see it Chase almost never seemed to have emotions, so a smile was a nice change of pace. "What did you learn?" Ozwald asked curious as to where they were supposed to be going for the sixth of these dragons, Ozwald and company had already managed to slay 5 of the dragons and they were getting really close to their goal of the castle on floor ten. 

Ozwald let Ryoto climb up to his neck and once again lay across it like some cross between a boa and a leather belt. Ozwald was raring to go, despite the dragons evident youngness, they were getting stronger, and becoming more and more of a challenge, so Ozwald was starting to be able to help out more and more, if only a little at a time.

With Ozwald growing stronger alongside the dragons, Chase thought about the directions in a way good enough to word them. The map data was good enough, as well as the updated objective on his map, but it wasn't really easy to describe either. Instead, Chase did what seemed like the best choic to avoid misunderstandings.

"I can't explain it. You haven't been here before so you probably don't know how to guide around, but... This is pretty much it, mhm.", he explained and raised a hand to scratch the back of his head, knowing little of what else to add. He felt like he had probably revealed enough about himself, but not really learned enough about Ozwald. "... Say, how old are you?", he turned to the side and asked with a somewhat awkward look on his face, before turning his head to look at the sky and giving it a troubled look, almost as if expecting something in return. "... I was eighteen when we entered the game. I don't know how long has passed though."

"By now, I think it has been two years." Ozwald looked back, he hadn't done much in that amount of time, but he was making up for it now. "I was 22 when I entered turned 23 soon after, I think I am 25 as of a few days ago." Ozwald wasn't one hundred percent certain how old he was he had spent a long time in this game, days passing by without meaning. But he was pretty sure he was right. "I was in college before this happened, I almost had my degree too." Ozwald sighed, things weren't going to be the same by the time they got out. if two years really had passed since the beginning of this mad game, and they had only made it to floor 25, that means they would need another 6 years to finish it, what would have changed by then, new technology, people would be dead, things would just be different than when they had left, and that was scary.

The fact that Ozwald was somehow keeping track of every single day that had passed while they were trapped in this hellhole was more than simply amazing enough to Chase. How long had he been feeling this passage of time, which the bluehead could just fondly remember as days of staying cooped up in an inn and crying his eyes out? 

"... I see. I was almost out of high school.", he explained rather blankly and continued down the same path with almost no shift in tone, just letting out a heavy exhale and bringing his eyes back down to the ground from the sky. "Is there anything you want when you get back to the real world?", he asked with a hint of nostalgia in his voice, and almost a heartache apparent throughout it. "Anybody you just... want to be able to talk to again? Like it'll make you feel better for all the time we've been trapped here?", he almost dug a little too deep for his own good, flinching and looking back ahead of them, coiling his body back. "... I know someone I want to talk to back home."

Ozwald thought about the question that Chase had asked, it wasn't at all that answering made him uncomfortable it was just that he really didn't know. "I don't know really, I am almost. . . Scared." Ozwald sighed "Scared to leave this place, it has been so long, what would I even say?" Ozwald was deeply saddened by how much time had passed since they left the real world behind to play Kayaba's evil game. "How can I just walk back into everyone I knews life. How can I pretend that I haven't been gone for years, fighting for my life in a world where one step off the path could mean my final breath." Ozwald may have been unloading too hard on Chase, but the feelings he had had been stewing for more than a year going unsaid. "And whose to say they are still going to be in my life, it has been two years it will be more by the time we are out. I don't know what I am going to do after this world, it is almost like a part of me now, and I don't know if I can let it go." Ozwald finally snapped out of his revelry awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck, he had just dumped a lot more onto Chase than he had even to Valentine.

The truth was, Chase felt much of the same too. On one hand, he wanted to move on to be back home with Lily, he wanted to enjoy himself and his family back. His real one. But for now, they were trapped in Aincrad. He didn't have regrets for struggling to get out of it, and he didn't have any regrets for leaving the world. It was all out of his control, after all.

"... You think so?", he asked somewhat thoughtfully before letting out a sigh, fixing his jacket on himself rather awkwardly. "There's one person I want to go home to. Lily. She's a childhood friend. But she's an idiot.", he said with a sadenned smile, although Ozwald couldn't really see it. If anything, he could only hear his tone and go off of that. "I'm worried I'll run into her in here. I'd be pissed off. Idiot couldn't wait for me.", he joked and looked behind at Grimm, with a somewhat melancholic smile- yet it was a smile nonetheless. "You're levelling up. That means you want to get out. Worry about this world while you can- the higher you go, the further you move. We don't have a choice but to keep going. Otherwise, it's back to crying in the first.", he nodded to himself and turned back to the path. "That's why nobody deserves to die. Even PKers have their place in here. I'm not going to let anybody die. Friend or enemy. Everybody has a home to return to out there.". For once, his words weren't as rough around the edges as they were honest. Albeit a surprise, it was a pleasant one to say the least.

"I completely agree with you, everyone deserves to have a place to call home, and a chance to return to that world." Ozwald realized for probably the first time, that Chase wasn't some unfeeling immortal god, just because he was strong. He was someone who was just as scared as Ozwald was and he finally understood and respected that, frontliners weren't just fighting for the people on the lower floors. They were fighting for themselves too, they also wanted to be home, they just had the strength to pick up their sword and fight. Ozwald wanted to be like that, someone who could pick up their weapon and face the challenge for both himself, and those people who couldn't fight in the first place, and for those who lost their lives fighting. Later Ozwald would take this ideal to the next level, when he mentored with Are. He would don a mask and fight for those who lost their lives fighting in this world. He would become the spectre acting for all those who lost the fight.

Whatever the case, the bluehead wasn't aware of Grimm's plans. For all he knew, the two agreed and met eye to eye, but that was about all he could say. Before long, the two's walk down the same path began to lead right towards the hatchling, watching it slither with its shining green scales further into the distance. Now was time to get their head back in the game.

Chase quickly turned to the side and looked at Ozwald as he stopped right by him, unsheathing his sword and preparing to try and get the jump on the dragon. "I'll ambush it, you just back me up like usual. I'll won't miss this time.", he tried to reassure him for all of the failed attempts at attacking from the fight before, preparing himself for the battle and once he had gotten the gesture that everything was clear, he dashed right away. How much more ironic could this be? As soon as he met eye to eye with the dragon, he prepared to swing and suddenly, a green breath attack shot right through Chase's form, completely hiding him from Grimm's vision. By the time it had dissipated, he was still there, having blocked it with his broken blade for thankfully, no damage. "The damn thing knew we were there."

Oswald's blue haired companion had charged at the dragon that they saw slithering through the jungle ahead. Ozwald didn't want to left behind, so he too charged forward towards the dragon hatchling. This was number six, and it would be dead before long too. Ozwald was excited to finish slaying all of the dragons that guarded the tenth floor's mysterious castle, he wanted to see exactly what was inside the castle, all he had right now was speculation, but that wasn't much to go on.

Once the pair got within a few feet of the dragon hatchling it roared and launched itself into the air, effectively putting himself out of the range of Ozwald and his fists. "Why do they all fly?!" Ozwald called out in despair, he was already not very tall, but he also didn't have the additional reach that a normal weapon would provide. When the dragon flies into the sky it made Ozwald effectively useless.

Chase watched the dragon go and fly around, scratching the back of his head almost tiredly and looking down at the ground. "My old sword used to have freeze to keep them in place, but... It's tier two.", he grumbled lowly to himself and raised his head to look back up at the little rascal, preparing himself before jumping high into the air to knock it down.

"For crying out loud, get d-", he almost shouted before his eyes widened, realising that the dragon was charging another one of those god forsaken breath attacks. Although it seemed like its attack completely swallowed Chase up once more, he was still fine and well, having deflected the attack with his own strike. If anything, he managed to hit the dragon using his chains too in order to drag him down with himself, but nothing stopped the hatchling from getting back in the air as soon as the bluehead's grip weakened- and guess what just happened. "Try hitting it before it starts flying around again, stun it."

Ozwald agreed with the plan that Chase had made, as simple as it was, stunning the dragon so that it was incapable of running away from the two of them into the sky. The dragon was currently on the ground, leaving it in what was probably the only position that Ozwald could use to attack it. Ozwald rolled forward at the dragon, coming out of the roll in a crouch that allowed him to sweep his leg outwards, causing the dragon to fall onto the floor. How that worked confused Ozwald, the dragon had wings, how did it lying on the ground keep it from moving? Not looking a gift horse in the mouth Ozwald decided to roll away giving Chase the chance to go in for the kill that would bring them one closer to unlocking the castle on the tenth floor. "it is all yours." Ozwald called out as he stood up beside his blue haired friend.

With the monster stunned and now laying flat on the ground, Chase lifted his sword in the air and gripped his sword with both hands. He closed his eyes and for the sake of their time and sanity, made a quick wish that his holy effect would trigger- he'd rather not have to take a single hit of whatever that hellish attack was.

And just when he was about to bring it down, white light began to appear at an increasing brightness, blinding them slowly as it formed the blade reaching all the way into the hatchling- that didn't stop his motion from fully going through. With the cretin fully impaled by the blade of light, it shattered into pieces before their vision was back to normal. Even when he least expected it... Damn. Finally it decided to work again. "Fucking finally, jesus!", the blueberry shouted out and threw his head back, holding a trinket in one hand and the broken blade in the other. "The fuck is up with Kayaba and these annoying ass mobs, for christ's sake?!"

Ozwald was surprised by the sudden outburst that Chase had done, it was abnormal, in Ozwald's opinion, Chase was normally very quite and awkward. Despite his opinion on Chase's outburst, Ozwald felt the exact same. He was happy to have finally dealt with the most troublesome dragon so far, and this was the sixth one down. Ozwald was happy to know that they only needed three more before they could open the castle. 

"So this maked six, we are getting really close." Ozwald looked over at Chase certain that he was just as excited as he was. The castle would probably be really dangerous though, so mixed in with the excitement Ozwald was also scared, what if it was something that the pair did not have the power to face? Ozwald tried to push these thoughts out of his head they would be able to do it, and would get stronger because of it.

Although Chase was in no good state to start comforting others, being very shaken himself from this traumatic encounter with the fuck that just wouldn't sit still, he could tell that there was a mixture of emotions all over Grimm's face. Excitement, probably some adrenaline and maybe anger? Or fear. One of the two.

"I swear to god if the next are anywhere near as-", he almost started to mutter before stopping, laughing. And the laughter got more and more awkward as time went on, until it resulted into Chase laughing dryly. "Er... There's another quest with a guy who just... won't sit still. If you remember my sword from the first hatchling, that's where I got it from. The reward is a sword that can almost never miss, it never has for me, but... The man that dropped it.", he seemed to be happy until in the end he got somewhat more sad? Whatever the case, he shook it off almost immediately and returned back to his ordinary self. "Let's get going anyways. These dragons won't kill themselves. We're almost at the castle."
