[PP | F15] Bane of Blood, Silence within the Forest

There were many reasons why he didn’t like this floor. The settlement was great here since the vegetation here was tasty. However, the quest here did not provide him the urge to go on to take it until he was ready to do so. There were many other issues but he did not mind them as much. He found himself looking at his HUD checking the time and positioning of his other party member. That member was indeed Raidou. The duo had done some major quests together before and this was no different. They had been busy in the previous weeks and he made it apparent that he was going to make time for his friends again.

White hair peered out at the vast gloomy path that exited the settlement. How strange that it appeared to be nice here then when you left, it was a darker path. It was made to intimidate. He shook his head lightly before taking the items he had brought from the guild vault earlier to engage the hard quest. This quest could easily go wrong if they weren’t prepared. This was the first time he hadn’t stopped by the stalls to precure items to make for the guild or his family. Unusual. It was because he was determining whether or not he should get other things to assist them on the quest or not. “Shouldn’t be too bad with him around.” He needed to talk to him more about the wedding anyway.

A simple affair with an earnest end, it wouldn't be long before they were fell. Kiluia was power and Raidou was a shield, between the two of them they would have no issues dealing with what this quest had to offer. A held high moon rose above, in a darkened sky it broke the black with its bright blue sphere. What little was offered in the way of lighting was exasperated by Raidou's skill ranks in detection. Neither player would have any trouble seeing here, despite obvious limitations imposed.

The soft breeze plays upon leaves dormant in trees, causing them to stir in a sway. Beasts lay dormant beyond their scope but would have no hope of remaining concealed. Kiluia was adept at seeing all the same, to hide was nothing short of foolish. A flicker of lenses on his brow, a scan of his HUD's map, and a check of the compendium in his right hand. "We're close." Raidou remarks triangling the information purchased with his own sense of where they were.

His eyes adjusted to the limited moonlight that provided a path for them. It wasn’t enough to invoke the darkness skill, but it was a bit dim for him. The breeze caressed his features as he followed close to Raidou ensuring that the gap between them was small. The encroaching danger would put them in a damper had they been separated. The words whispered by his leader was acknowledged with a simple. “Yep.” He was fully aware that Raidou was a perfectionist when it came to obtaining information. No such thing as too much information.

His amber eyes glanced toward the distance trying to see if a marker would appear for him. It would be more convenient that way. The quiet nature of the forest was somewhat more alarming than the dim area itself. Almost unnerving to him. He spoke in a soft manner as they progressed forward. “We should be able to take care of them.” He glanced at him before looking back at the path. He hadn’t experienced these types of creatures yet but that change today. “Also, I need you to give Haine away to me when we get married.He added like it was no big thing. Of course, it was though. After that, he remained quiet listening once more to the surroundings.

Each step producing closer and closer toward the objective, so much so that once the threshold is breached a sudden huge green circle is drawn upon the mini-map in the top left corner of his vision. "Agreed this will not be too difficult, perhaps for someone of lower caliber." Raidou offered not as a show of ego but simply as an expectation. The sentiment shared with Kiluia's next phrase, and with it a tad bit of a struggle. Kiluia was in fact the perfect fit for the girl, and he had his blessing. But the very thought of such an affair could not help but stir some semblance of insecurity. "I...will try." Raidou whispered out through choked breath. Playing with the lenses on his brow, to steady a swelling tide and allow him an anchor himself through it.

Raidou activates Parry

The nomad in Red was amongst the end of a road, he could see that each level was taking longer than the last. He was starting to get the sense there was a limit in sight, and he was feeling rather mixed about it. It was all he knew, for two years it has been all he's known. What awaited him at that aloof end?

The sentiment was an honest one that came from Raidou. It was in fact, Raidou was the one who managed to bring them back together. It was a fitting statement for him to ask. His thoughts were interrupted as he froze in his last step. The pathing was beginning to open up around the two wanderers. Judging from the information that was given to him prior by his guild master, it seemed that they had stumbled upon the habitat of where they needed to go. His eyes blinked several times before realizing what he was seeing before him.

There were roughly their height and it was safe to say that they had not noticed the duo. His eyes narrowed looking at them as they seemed to be by a cave like structure. Perhaps it was guard duty or patrol. Whatever the case, they had to go pass them to obtain their true objective. “Bingo.” He looked over at Raidou. His hands flexed in anticipation. The idea was to bat second after Raidou garnered their attention away from him. “Ready when you are.” His voice soft. It seemed to him that these were the reason why the forest was quiet. The front of the cave opening seemed to be decorated with decaying bones and flesh. Nice décor.

A draw of his weapon seems to follow Kiluia's very fighting style, latent energies from the boss who's polearm was embedded in his chest not too long before. Rocketing forward as quick as heads could turn to greet his arrival, a silent beginning to a crash. With a downward slam, the ground gives way to an overcast, scattering through them after impact was that same signature yellow. Limp and damaged they lay face first in the soil below. Lifting it with still ripe and aggressive electricity riddling the glowing gold sword, Raidou waves it off to one side to flick it clean. Lifting the weapon up as his ire begins to peel and pull away at the lot of them in crimson red, a flood causing blindness as it rolls through the field. It was not 100% but was expected when offense over defense was the goal, the question was if it would matter in the end.

Watching Raidou gracefully wield his weapon was always quite a scene to see. His eyes would watch the sword carve into the flesh of the wolves and he noticed that he had struck the second one harder than the rest. Eyes of amber would lock onto that particular wolf that was stunned. His hands would flex slightly as he dashed off to strike warg. The blinding speed he usually carried had pinpoint accuracy. Single digits raised as he struck wargs side in various points causing damage upon every strike he imposed upon the digital body. The wolf smashed into a million shards and he glanced at the other wargs.

Each warg remained frozen until he had finished his attack. The creatures could not adapt to the former strike of Raidou and moved sluggishly. His body would snap back toward the original position. He glanced over at Raidou. “Yer up Boss.” He commented to him as the Warg’s were unable to attack.

Concentration CD [1/3]

One more broad struck creates another torrent of electricity, a scattering fork that racks and shatters that which remains. A burning cinder left in wakes with blackened earth. "I have no idea why that keeps happening." he offers with a twist of his sword, pulling it up and holding its ground with a tussle of his glasses. The wolves gone the first segment of the quest draws itself clean from his HUD and are replaced with the next: << Hunt Blood Bane >> 

With its exchange a howl through the canopy, it knew they were coming and was calling its kin to its aid. A feral pack, akin to that of the venomous warg. It was exactly the training he had imposed upon those who undertook it. The same restrictions as a form of preparation, albeit they knew not that was his intention. A single breath in he was ready to move ahead.

The entrance of the cave was clear as Raidou cleaved through the wolves killing them off. He looked back at Raidou speaking. Looks like we get t…” He was interrupted with loud howl that reverberated from the cave wall and was echoing out like a funnel. He held his ears and stared at the dark cave entrance and strained his eyes. What he was met with was a pair of piercing blue eyes that bore into his skull. It was out for blood after watching its kin being demolished by the duo. He lowered his hands and sighed a bit out of relief as he was trying not to go into dark caves.

Following behind Blood Bane were three wolves that had surrounded the front of Blood Bane that formed a wall. With that second, he took off at the wolf on the far right with his fist drawn back. He struck full fore into the jaw of the warg sending it slightly backward trying to send it back into the Blood Bane but it didn’t quite reach that far. Amber eyes looked over at Raidou and he took off back to him. "Looks like the info is good."  He spoke to Raidou.

Concentration CD [2/3]

The howl causes silence to fall between the two that had endured through ages, like the past they had long traveled against it was mirrored here. Through the darkened cavern Raidou peers, and with a drag of his pillar fragment down the length and casts light to his surroundings. Auric Sol thumbs as it reveals a jagged row of teeth with a pair of piercing eyes. Kiluia drops a single blow to the side of its gullet, a twist of its neck causes it to cough and choke. It scatters to the wind and Raidou pivots. His robe flares with the speed from the white lightning, and his followed pirouette cleaves it in two. "I'll open it up, then it will be to you my friend." Raidou remarks as static of his own plays upon the blade in his grasp. One overhead drop of the hammer creates a cry that bounces off the walls of this blackened crevice. Within its wake was a pile of beat to hell wolves struggling to stand.

 The man’s movements were always a work of art. He was a man who was a one wrecking army. It was a good thing he was friends with Raidou or else this would be a very one-sided battle. Watching the creatures become stunned was a treat to watch for. It was always something to watch as they remained stunned and unmoving. Of course, that didn’t apply to the big one who seemed three times bigger than the actual wolves. With a swing and a miss, he could only imagine how effective Raidou could be as an all-rounder. He often wondered how he was able to optimize everyone.

With the stunned wolf, he took off with a kick of his foot into the ground. A trail of dust followed him as he spoke to Raidou. “You know it. The path always opens for me.” He would rush forwards with both hands spread apart. He pulled back and clapped his hands into the head of the closest Warg. It was a unique way of fighting, but he wanted to try out pretty much everything he could. The wargs head smashed in and he would look at Raidou. A grin crossed his face as he spoke to him. “Let’s keep it open.”

Concentration Refreshed!

Tearing up next to Kiluia in his white energy like static, trailing beneath him was a yellow that mirrored the lightning he was giving off. In a shared explosion of the two in the pack who would safeguard their leader, Raidou looks to Kiluia and flourishes the blade in his grasp up. "Let's finish this noise, like old times." Raidou responds to his dear friend, drawing his hand down the blade and forcing it to take on a crackle of energy. A kneel low Raidou triggers sprint, and holds it. Primed and ready as he dumps more and more of his energy into the skills that were active, they'd act in tandem and blindside the beast from every angle. Overwhelm any defenses it had with ease. A forced to be reckoned was the man that fought with the speed of electricity and the man who had learned it from him.

The crackle of energy that the red wanderer displayed left nothing of the creature he had struck down remain. The words of Raidou speaking of finishing off Bane caused him to give a slight glint of a smile. Going off the spectacle of what he witnessed, he followed up with his leader and friend in arms against the massive warg. The rapid footsteps would lead straight to the snout of the warg as his fist slapped into the bridge of it. “Of course. Any day of the week!” He grinned slightly.

The sight of the duo fighting was refreshing and exhilarating. He was one of the rare few that the white haired wonder would trust his life with. To die was no option but it would be okay if he was in good company. Leg drifted slightly to the left and kicked back once more to his comrade. “Now that we have it all by its lonesome, it really doesn’t have much of a chance.

"To be fair it never stood a chance." Raidou comments adjusting the lenses on the bridge of his nose. A trickle of yellow static plays down the gilded blade in his right hand. Like a missile Raidou slams into the row of teeth as Kiluia takes a step back and it attempts to give chase. The flash of light was met with a boom of energy as the monster skips like a stone across a lake, grinding to a slide of dust. What's revealed is that same color riddling and bouncing across the floor like a tesla coil. Blood Bane cannot stand, the fibers in its system continue to jerk and twist. The only thing it can do is look to Raidou and that film of red, seeing only the blur of white as Kiluia almost breaks time with a scattering of his special brand of electricity and space with his follow up.

“To be fair, you’d be correct.” The outstanding tandem and rush of the duo caused heinous damage to the Warg. It was to the point where it could not even react to the onslaught of the attacks. While the energy was hot, his white aura took off against Raidou’s attack which managed to subdue the Warg with a stun. Advantage was increased more as he grappled the large husks and bring its snout into the right rising knee cap. It was a flush and clean attack.

He backed off immediately as he made it to a clear safe distance to Raidou. The onslaught would continue with the red wanderer up for his strikes. He always knew that he would have a good time with the man. It showed with their strikes and their short but candid conversations. “At this rate, we should make it back to the guild for some grub.He spoke eyeing the hp of the beast falling well blow the limit to the red. It was just a matter of time.

An attempted bite at Kiluia's back finds nothing but steel, Raidou sliding in like a ghost and catching a row of teeth in his steel. "I was thinking green tea." A word spoken as Kiluia begins to size the creature up for another powerful haymaker with a shake of his fists in a snap shut. A silver glow racking from his knuckles up to his shoulder. A slide and grind of Raidou's blade sees sparks fly, before he pushes back and carves a heavy chunk out of the suckers mouth. "Checkmate." Raidou mutters beneath his breath, as the creature's world becomes black seeing just the glimmer of Kiluia's energy detonating in a blur on its peripheral. As Raidou had spoken, it was not a taunt but a truth. An ode to careful planning and execution. This thing never stood any chance against the pair that had stood the test of time, and came out on top.

Watching the man guard him was always impeccable to watch. It was a wall that could stop many a foe and it was funny to watch the candid behavior. While the steel connected with the creature, a sliver of health but all remained for it. With a leap into the air and the distraction of Raidou, he curved his body mid air while the distraction occurred and both knees came dropping down onto the Wargs head.

It was over. The massive collective of crystals shattered into a brilliant light. Eyes of amber met with his friend and spoke. “That sounds nice. Maybe a few sandwiches or just couple of sweets to compliment the tea” He stood up and dusted off the remnants of dust and other things off his clothing before glancing around. This quest would be concluded for the duo. He cleared his throat before looking back at him. “Was there anything else about the quest we needed to conclude?” He was always a long just to fight and beat down as much as he could. The mentality of ask questions later was always the attitude he arrived and left with.

Like a drill Kiluia screams through his target with fury, cutting the thing down in a momentary blink and fold. The ground shutters as his static trickles out from beneath the point of impact. The proof that this thing was clearly outmatched, both in the delivery it was given to hell. But within the HP values of both players as well, who were visibly untouched. There was a power in their old tether, an understanding that allowed them both to chain together and fight as one that most did not share.

"That's it." Raidou remarked with a grin that stemmed from his own comrade, that was hard not to reciprocate. "I think I know a place we can get something pretty suitable." Raidou was of course continuing the discussion of their respective meal, a quaint place. A hole in the wall on floor 4, he found it only fitting to return where it all had began. Cafe de Plateau, a tiny tea joint in the sleet. A faint bit of memory in bittersweet nostalgia, as the friend and brother was returned to him. This victory was a proof of just how much Kiluia meant, just how much he was capable of once he was able to work truly with another. Kiluia and those like him, were special beyond comparison.

Wandering with his friend in tow, he ushers into the small cafe. A ring of a bell alerts the NPC to his presence. The girl behind the counter, her head twists as a grin begins to form. A band begins to play rather unfitting music, and Raidou finds himself to a table. Once the waitress finds her way to greet them, an order is placed. The cacophony of background noise does well to rise the nomads nerves. But a plain look toward Kiluia who didn't seem to be bothered by it in the slightest helps root them before it begins.

A short time later, what was placed is made real. Small glasses filled to the brim with mixed drinks. A soft pull in a weird detachment, Raidou still looked to be entirely fit for combat and not a day on the town. Even still it would appear that he was enjoying himself in the presence of a brother.

It wasn't quite what he wanted, Raidou was rather plain in what he enjoyed. Unsweetened green tea would have sufficed, but he chose to accept what it was that was brought, and it was pleasant. Although a bit too sweet for his typical wants. Another order and shared conversation as the two attempted to catch up to times, learning quite a bit how he and Haine were fairing. The nomad couldn't help but smile at the prospect, finding solace in the story shared. It was all he ever wanted for them both, glad that it was something that could finally transpire. Now all that lingered on the horizon was the wedding, and he was happy for them both. A few minutes quickly become hours, before duty calls them back to action.

Kiluia back to his wife to be in waiting.

and Raidou back to the tough world of Aincrad with devices of his own design.
