One such legend involves a catch larger than anyone had ever seen before. Rumors are rife amongst many fishermen that there may be truth to it. Their hope is that catching and defeating it could restore peace and protection to their waters if they offered it to the Gods of the Swamp, but they can’t do it alone. One person wouldn’t be enough to put the beast down before it ate them whole, let alone catching it in the first place. Two fishermen have approached you asking for your help. The players must decide who they want aiding them, as a crewmate, to pull in the catch of the century. Outline: The players head into Dayurga where they can meet the two fishermen that will ask for their help in catching the angler fish known as “The Lurker”. Once they’ve decided who they wish to help, they will be given certain benefits based on who they choose to aid: Choosing Derrick will yield the players and extra ally in combat with the Lurker and Fossil Fish Choosing Renault will make the Lurker easier to fish up. No matter who the player decides to aid, they will gain the same rewards at the end of the quest. Fish up the Lurker while fending off the humanoid fossil fish in the swamp. Fossil Fish will constantly attack players as they attempt to catch the lurker. CD 1-4: Two Fossil Fish appear CD 4-10: One Fossil Fish appears CD 11-12: The Lurker rises with all of its minions (spawns six Fossil Fish, less however many have already been defeated) Players with the Fisher profession add +2 to CD to their rolls. If the Lurker is found before killing off the Fossil Fish, he will spawn with the remaining Fossil Fish, up to three at a time. Additional Fossil Fish reinforcements arrive on each new post, as they are defeated, until at least 6 Fossil Fish have been slain. Once combat with the Lurker begins, the party cannot rest until it an all remaining Fossil Fish have been defeated. Once the fish has been defeated, the fisherman will offer the party who helped him the scales of the fish for helping him.
