Haine 0 Posted February 19, 2021 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2021 (edited) Haine seemed wary of trusting quest brokers, especially after the last one had so graciously scammed her. She learned her lesson and strayed far of ominous, cloaked figures promising a lucrative opportunity in exchange for hefty coin. To meet the exact shady figure yet again was just her luck. Her hood was secured around her frame, shrouding her features from anyone who might know her. The oblivious scam of a broker approached her yet again at the tavern, sliding into the empty seat across from her. She scrunched her nose and reached for the glass across the table, taking a swig. "Yanno, it's not that hard to get COL," Haine commented, nonchalantly. "You could, I dunno, work for it like everyone else does, or actually do your job?" The man caught onto her once she pushed off her hood, piercing amber eyes meeting his. He shifted in his seat, uncomfortably. He slid out of his seat the moment he matched a name to her face. "Aww, leaving already?" She called out, slamming her cup down. "Just saying, if I were a scammer, I'd charge for more than just peanuts. But good day to you too!" The cheerful expression on her face seemed off putting compared to the edge in her tone. The man wasn't worth a brawl. After all, she wasn't so pressed about mere pocket change. She watched with mild distaste as he exited in search of his next victim. To be fair, it was her fault for falling for a deal too good to be true. Freyd 0 Posted February 20, 2021 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2021 "Yes. Okay. I get it! I may have overdone things... slightly." Persi sat pretty and poised on the white, slightly glowing and otherwise featureless floor of the Liminal Blind. Her horizontally slotted eyes half-closed with disapproval and disdain at his previously inadequate responses were no less impressed by admission of the truth. The room was absolutely full of consumables, stacked from floor to ceiling with no small number precariously perched and threatening to instigate a hazmat response if they fell and mixed with their fellows. Freyd had been on a bit of a shopping spree. "It's not impulse-buying if it's all stuff I use!" Persi gingerly licked a paw, effectively dismissing his argument in the process. "Look, we were getting short on some of these, especially the... uh... whatever those are again." Scratching at the side of his head, Freyd picked up a small cube-shaped bottle of reddish liquid, convinced that an eye had just pressed itself against the glass from the inside. He struggled to figure out how he was going to sort and organize all of this stuff. *** Freyd | HP:1790/1790 | EN:191/191 | DMG:26 | MIT:79 | EVA:4 | ACC:6 | VAMP OFF:179 | HLY:6 | FLN:6 | TXV 24/3 | LD:5 | BH:89 Freyd Consumes: Spoiler Crème Brûlée (Snack) | Accuracy 2 | 171800-2 Smores (Snack) | Evasion 2 | 172615 Liquor of Light (Potion) | Damage 3 | 177844-1 Breakfast Fry | Protein 2 | 172368 + FILLED Divinity's Wait (Meal)| T3 Mitigation 3 | 169990 Mega-Duper Anti-Everything Sauce (Salve) | Antidote 3 | 170307 Viperion (Salve) | Toxic Venom 24/3 | 155370 Stats Summary: Spoiler Freyd Level: 88 HP: 1790/1790 EN: 191/191 Stats: Damage: 20 (+3+3) Mitigation: 79 Evasion: 2 (+2) Accuracy: 4 (+2) BH:89 VAMP OFF:179 HLY:6 FLN:6 LD:5 (TXV: 24/3) Equipped Gear: Weapon: Samael's Pride (T3-2HSS, VO 1, HOLY 1, FLN 1) Armor: Skirmisher's Garb (T3 LA, MIT 2, EVA 1) Misc: Night Shades (T3-Trinket, ACC 3) Skills: 2H Straight Sword [Rank 5] Light Armor [Rank 5] Searching [Rank 4] Battle Healing [Rank 5] Parry [Obtained] Energist [Obtained] Charge [Rank 5] Extended Mod Limit R3 [Obtained] Hiding [Rank 5] Martial Arts [Rank 5] Quick Change [Obtained] Extra Skills: Disguise Familiar Mastery: Fighter 3 Survival Meditation Active Mods: Precision - 2HSS Finesse - Rank 3 LA Athletics Ferocity - 2HSS LA Sprint and Acrobatics Vengeful Riposte Night Vision Tracking Inactive Mods: Vanish Surprise Attack (Assassin) Untraceable Battle Ready Inventory: Teleport Crystals*5 Gungnir Shard: Haniel's Modesty (T3 Perfect HP Rec [Instant]*5 Flash of Rejuvenation (Mass HP Rec [Instant] (+30*Tier HP)*5 Fruit-Infused Tea (T3 HP Recovery)*5 Imugi's Inspiration (T3 Mass HP Recovery)*5 Mega-Duper... Haine 0 Posted March 24, 2021 Author #3 Share Posted March 24, 2021 Such a distasteful way to begin the day. Haine tilts the glass of coffee in her grip, the warmth having long left its contents. Chin propped over her palm, she glances down at the mug. A little more to go. She chugs it in one clean go, slamming the glass down. The idle moment leaves room for her thoughts to wander, onto her plans from here on out. Her goals seem so clean cut, simple in theory, but never enough. It seems simple enough to push her threshold, satisfying enough to watch it tick up little by little. It's still not enough. Haine thought it would've been enough to feel competent, that all the answers would reveal themself come now, but she's still lost. Standing among her stronger comrades, she feels more like a child wearing adult shoes. Appointed a leader, but feeling like one of the flock. She looks up to them, up to the exteriors they uphold, some intangible aura she can't replicate. She's aware then of how little she knows of them. She pulls away from her thoughts and directs them towards something more purposeful. A quick perusal of the quest list reveals something about a hidden village, the gist in which she'll defend them, and the list goes on. She never tells others that she doesn't read into it too much. All she needs to know is if it poses as any significant danger. The rest is up to her party and her vigilance. She wouldn't make that apparent to them. Some sort of leader she'd be if they knew she went in without some foolproof strategy.
Freyd 0 Posted March 25, 2021 #4 Share Posted March 25, 2021 An urgent message caught his attention. Trouble around Charto, again, it seemed. Those damnable bats had too short a respawn time. It seemed like he was wading through guano on a regular basis just to keep the winding tunnels clear. Funneling supplies to the NPCs in the settlement was an unofficial quest, or even a duty, to some. Their defiance to Tesseleth's oppression was endearing, even though it meant a lot less since the floor boss had been killed years ago. If nothing else, it kept skills sharp. Those bats were nasty. Freyd was back in Tomoika in no time, tipping a cup over his face and waiting for the sludge that the locals loosely considered to be coffee over his open mouth, waiting for it to crawl in. It tasted like diesel fuel with the consistency of molasses, but apparently he liked that sort of thing. It was like super-espresso and made everything tingle. The bats could wait a few more minutes before he started his murder-hobo run. Scooping the last of his drink out with a small trowel, he ordered another for the road.
