Without waiting for a response, Freyd pushed his blade into the mob's heart with every ounce of strength available to him.  It pulse white, once, twice, then increasing its pace to match the thunderous roar of the dragon knight's heart.  Veins of holy light traced and burned the pattern of corruption from the boss' mesh, purging him of the malignant powers that had led to so much grief. 

"Cardinal seems to approve, Varalys.  Another reason to bring you down.  I hate it when my goals align with the system's!"

Twisting his weapon like a key, Freyd unlocked the road to his own freedom and salvation as everything around him exploded into white light.  When his senses finally recalibrated, he found himself back in the chamber with Jeeves where this latest mess had begun.

"Freyd!  Thank goodness you made it!"

The Whisper fell backwards, unceremoniously seeking the ground that moments ago had proven violently elusive.  His senses were still discombobulated and required a few minutes to settle.

"Heh.  Well done, my friend.  It looks like I owe you those answers that I promised."
